The applicant will be told when to collect it on the day of the interview. Hope there is no waiting time when you come to collect your passport at the embassy lol. |

Second trip for collection in person, it seems weird. Would prefer to pay for courier to get it delivered. so courier option is not available? How do you know that the passport is ready for collection? |

Thank you guys, I now know what to expect. It seems organised. One more question, how long does it take to get the new passport delivered after the interview? |

Travel / Re: Shouting Can Get You Killed Abroad by Goodman(m): 11:43am On Jul 21, 2011 |
I felt so sorry Steve family and the dead wife family and for the children. It is not easy renting a house where the landlord lives there too. The tension can be very high. I agreed that shouting when talking can cause more trouble than its intended purpose. The white man will fear for his/her life when a black man shout at him/her thinking the person is going to harm him and will resort to self defence. The brodas at home learn to calm your voice even if you are angry, in Nigeria people fight each other in the streets. Here that is not common except in the weekends when people have had enough to drink. |

Thank you renntin and Justwise for your responses. I will do that, I have downloaded the form already but part of me tells me to ignore it. I only need the passport to travel to Nigeria, with the guarantor form it makes the whole process of obtaining the passport stressful. |
Travel / Re: Nigerian In Poland Needs Information On Norway. by Goodman(m): 11:48pm On Jul 20, 2011 |
Honestly it will be very difficult for you to secure a temp job in Norway especially if you are not resident. I lived in Norway for 12 years, even to get a job as a cleaner you will have to take a course and besides they will require you to speak norwegian. Your employer is not going to speak english to you. Everything is expensive there, if you have connection in the UK that will be your best bet. I wish you the best of luck. 1 Like |
Travel / Guarantor Form For Nigerian Passport"applicant Lives In London" by Goodman(m): 11:14pm On Jul 20, 2011 |
Hello fellow forum members, I am a Nigerian living in London and have applied for Nigerian passport online and to attend the interview in London. I have other documents required but missing the quarantor form. I do not currently have my old passport, this application will be treated as first time passport. Have anyone obtain their passport recently from the Nigerian embassy in London, is it mandatory that you must complete the quarantor form when the applicant isĀ living abroad and a European citizen? Advice needed please as my interview date is drawing near and hope to travel to Nigeria pretty soon. Thank you for your time and God bless. |

Hi Seun, Thanks for your contribution to this topic. You raised a good point when you mentioned the stability of electricity in Nigeria in General. About 2 years ago I shipped one of my old computers to my family in Nigeria; I remembered I bought a UPS to be used in conjunction with the PC to protect the computer from frequent incorrect shutdown of the computer which could in turn damage the system quickly. I felt sad about the NEPA inability to provide stable power to consumers. For more than 2 decades the problem is yet to be resolved. I understood the point you also raised about the Business owners in Nigeria for not using computers to promote their businesses. However it is vital that business men and women should be able to operate computers. If not at the business premises but at home. Hence they will be able to keep track of business records at the end of each business day. The secret to becoming computer literate is to have access to one, play with the preinstalled application as often as possible. My first computer was 386 PC with Windows 3.11. I had a friend whom was a heavy user when things go wrong I called on him to help me. I learnt to how to catch the fish by my self when my friend was away and no body to help, spend days to figure out what went wrong. I bought a dummy book I was able to fix the computer. I became more interested in computers, take some beginner courses and eventually ended up in spending 3 years studying Computer Networking and System administration. Has worked as a Tech Support EngineerĀ Presently I m a computer consultant and One-On-One computer trainer for those generations who did not grow up with computers. I hope to get more responses from other members, by the way I like to thank you Seun as the forum moderator. I found this forum yesterday and believe me I am impressed with the forum. Regards Godey |
Computers / Computer Literacy and Uses of Computers by Goodman(m): 2:55pm On Nov 02, 2005 |
Uses of the Computers The importance of computers in our daily life is unimaginable. Today I can certainly say that I am 100 percent dependent on computer use both at home and at work. My guess is that there are still millions of Nigerian youth and children who do not have access to a computer. My questions are:
[li]Do you think that many youth are still unaware of the potentials of becoming computer literate?[/li] [li]How did you learn how to use the computer?[/li] [li]What can be done to improve the computer literacy in Nigeria?[/li] [li]Do you feel confident using the computer?[/li] [li]What do you use your computer for primarily?[/li] [li]If your computer happens to break down how would you go about fixing the problem?[/li]
Regards Godey. |
