They relocated cause of the insecurities?

Yes, the workers of the factory where continuously harassed by IPOB members for them to pay some money.

The security personnels of the University where killed for no just reason.

My happiness is that the buildings are still there and not destroyed maybe in few years time they can be reactivated.

People come online to project who will get what during 2023 elections but don't even know what's happening in the East. In rural areas of Imo State, for example, unknown gunmen are going about threatening people not to come out and vote on election day.

In fact, we saw them kill an INEC official after they warned people several times about registering for PVC, but they ignored such threats. If things continue like this, voter apathy in the South East, especially in rural communities, is likely to be the worst in the country.

Where all this is headed is already becoming scary because it appears we are going to learn something the hard way - no matter the level of disdain you think the Nigerian state has for us, never allow non-state actors to bear arms under any guise because it doesn't end well. It's quite unfortunate that we allow ignoramuses and illiterates make decisions for us.

It's too early to cry, when people like us where shouting we were called Saboteurs. If Peter Obi losses this election igbos caused it themselves nobody should blame outsiders.

About the Owerri ring road. Has that plan actually been in the government's book. I only heard about Owerri ring road during ohakims tenure.

It's there in the Owerri master plan, Ohakim just kicked off the implementation, starts from pH road through federal sec road to mopol junction onitsha road, then Egbeada bypass road to Orlu road then spibat road to Okigwe road, outstanding section is between orji Mbaise Naze to Aba road connecting back to pH expressway through poly nekede ihiagwa futo road.

There was totally no need for flyover there compared to control post.
That flyover is not been used yet traffic flows well around. That priority was a stupid one.

The reason for the flyover was the design of Owerri ring road which didn't give room for any obstruction as it was designed to be a freeway. The structure is solid but finishing was substandard, it can be remedied with little inputs, I would have preferred normal junction than the flyovers.
As for control area, the roundabout should be removed and traffic lights installed, flyover there will be overly expensive because it won't be a one way bridge but multiple way.
Owerri ring road should be finished totally before touching control roundabout, in order to manage traffic volume.

Hahaha! Nnewi man is very cunny and crafty in nature, they've dealt with me, they have sweet mouth to steal your money. Uzodinma knows what innoson knows, that's why he(IVM) wants to collect money and not carry out his own part of the deal.. Innoson should spread out and not making his company a local family buying and selling business company. Owerri/PH can help him spread further not in his village alone.

That's why he couldn't take imo state government to court as promised, agreement is agreement if he wants his 2.5bn balance, then Owerri plant is a must if not otilo 2.5bn naira.

TERRORIST?
Terrorism has many branches. There is terrorist government also.
How do you define a state governor who camped soldiers in the 2nd largest city in his state in guise of fighting off unknown gunmen who earlier had a fracas with police in the area; once in a while, unknown gunmen are sent to exchange gunfire with the camped soldiers; the soldiers go into the town, they wittingly or unwittingly kill many innocent people, burn business premises they believe the unknown gunmen would be hiding in; the population and businesses in the city flee, the governor and his media team tell people that until the people of the area stop the attacks, nothing from the government to the area; the area is now becoming a ghost city? Whoever camps soldiers in a city to confront civilians without formal declaration of war in the country, is merely struggling to destroy the city.

Listen, a representative of a terrorist government must not open mouth and brand someone airing his/her opinion as a terrorist.

You're a fucking terrorist get lost efulefu

We have to look at the cost of cowardice in Nigeria. An environment with men will not function or look like Nigeria. They will mistake their inability to do the right thing as wisdom. Look at hard work, or struggle as a vice and going to the east to flex church clothes in december as a virtue. As an independent observer, I must state here that Hope Uzodinma is an insincere man.

That man had 4 years to start all these projects but didn't. In fact, I am still trying to understand any significant thing he has achieved the past three years. Perhaps you should enlighten me.

Just one year to go, he wants to complete all these projects. Some things just don't make any sense.

2023 LOOKING BETTER WITH MORE PROJECTS TO BE ACCOMPLISHED AS WE ARE ABLE TO ACCOMPLISH OUR OBJECTIVES IN GOVERNANCE IN 2022 - GOV. UZODIMMA

Governor Hope Uzodimma has hinted on a better 2023 with more projects to be completed with the accomplishments of his administration's objectives in 2022.

His Excellency made the statement while delivering his "New Year Message" to Ndi Imo at the Government House, Owerri, Imo State. During which he expressed satisfaction with the testimonies he has been receiving from citizens who returned for the festivity.

In the spirit of optimism with strategic plans of boosting the State's economy, the Governor has assured Ndi Imo of the completion of the Owerri - Umuahia road, the Orlu - Mgbee - Akokwa road, the Oguta to Okporo Orlu road and many other infrastructural projects this year 2023.

In addition to several roads and other infrastructural projects of 2022, Governor Uzodimma listed the two signature projects: the Owerri - Orlu road and the Owerri - Okigwe road that were commissioned by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Other notable achievements listed are the upgrade of the Federal Medical Centre Owerri to a University Teaching Hospital for the Federal University of Technology, Owerri; the Alvan Ikoku College of Education full takeover by the Federal Government; signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Nigerian Navy for the dredging of Oguta Lake/ Orashi River to the Atlantic ocean.

From the highlights of the budget you posted here, does one need to be told what the A-Z budget will look like?

The other day, it was reported here that Hope Uzodinma has closed IMSUTH in Orlu, the only govt institution here, as IMSU no longer admits new students in Medicine.
Your reply was that IMSUTH had graduated 3 batches of Doctors under Uzodinma's government. I expected you to verify.

Orlu was not mentioned anwhere in the budget.
Another attestation of Hope Uzodinma's disdain for Orlu; he no longer hides it.
Dozens of urban roads in Orlu are no longer passable.
Even the Industrial layout he talks about in Owerri, late gov Sam Mbakwe also acquired a large portion of land in Amike, Orlu, for Industrial estate.

You never read the budget, that's why you took this position.
Every zone got roads allotted to them. So I urge you to download it and read.

After studying the budget
Key salient points are thus:

* New refinery project in the offling

* Multi level carpark will be completed

* Centenary tower project is been reactivated probably a PPP

* Pipeline construction to industrial layout

* Onitsha industrial layout to rehabilitated

* IICC will be rehabilitated for 1.5bn

* Improved road construction especially economic routes and markets.

* New market at okigwe.

* Specialized hospitals like psychiatric etc

* I00m for abandoned hospitals probably a PPP arrangement.

* Relocation of police HQ and prison is assured with 60m.

* Export processing zone and agriculture processing zone.

For those that have questions for the governor
You can ask him directly.
Make sure you participate ooo

UZODIMMA LEADS THE WAY IN TRANSPARENT AND ACCOUNTABLE GOVERNANCE.

In keeping with Governor Hope Uzodimma's resolve to run an open, transparent and accountable administration, all stakeholders and the general public are by this notice informed that the 7th edition of the regular meeting of the Imo State Stakeholders Forum will hold on Thursday, January 5th, 2023.

In line with what has become the tradition of this administration, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Imo State, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, will use the auspicious occasion to render an updated account of his stewardship to Imo people since the last stakeholders meeting. However, since the meeting will almost coincide with the third anniversary of Governor Uzodimma’s administration,
the governor will also use the occasion to brief the stakeholders on his achievements in the last three years. Thereafter, he would also share his vision for the future.

Before then, His Excellency will on January 4th, 2023 host a three-hour live phone-in programme with all private and public radio stations in the state. This will also be streamed live online to give Imo people – including those in the diaspora – the opportunity to seek clarifications and ask questions on all aspects of the governance of the state.

Civil society organizations, trade unions, students, market associations, road transport unions and other interest groups will be invited to witness and participate in the live phone-in programme.

This is a unique and novel town hall meeting arrangement which seeks to engage virtually every stratum of the society in an interactive session with their Governor, in keeping with Senator Uzodimma's avowed determination to remain transparent and accountable to the people of the state.

This ceremony will hold in the afternoon of Wednesday, 4th January 2023. It will be followed later in the day by the ceremony for the presentation of the awards for the Second Governor Hope Uzodimma Annual Awards for Media Excellence, for practising Journalists in the state. The maiden edition of the awards was held in 2021.

His Excellency will also use the occasion of the awards to host a dinner in honour of all

I saw a story trending on FB concerning how Bayelsa man absconded from a trad wedding in Imo. According to the story, summarily, the man was asked to refund school fees spent on the lady,he was also was to identify his wife after 12ladies were arraigned and covered in robes. On failing to identify his wife ,he was placed another hefty fine..

The narrator of this fake story refused to name the particular town this happened. The promoters of this story only have one aim and that is to demarket a blessed state like Imo.

Just this morning,I saw another unchained rabid dog from Anambra say that Imo state charge more than N5m for a traditional wedding...

It's high time we begin to sue those fools and promoters of fake news against IMO who become blind about deviances in their own states but begin to exhibit irritability on Imo by promoting fake news...
I am willing to donate funds for this course, this is a serious matter..
We can't continue being silent, our silence is not timidity. We are educated people that's why you will seldom see an Imo person promoting unverified news about another state or commit the fallacy of hasty generalization...

Imo, Korean firm strike deal on $7bn Smart City

A South Korean group, Grace Bridge WID Limited, has concluded plans with the Imo state government to set up a Smart City in the state.

This followed the successful visit of the Commissioner for Budget, Planning and Statistics, Dr C.C. Osuala, to South Korea recently during which modalities for the establishment of the business hub was discussed.

The commissioner, who disclosed this to Blueprint over the weekend, said a memorandum of understanding was signed after a return visit to the state by the Koreans.
He said the state’s prudence in budgeting, which had since been acknowledged by the World Bank through the internationally acclaimed award of States’ Fiscal Transparency Accountability System (SFTAS), led to the interest shown by the Koreans.

Describing the proposed Smart City project as “first of its kind in Africa”, Dr Osuala said the project would cost 7 billion US Dollars and would be sited in a 2,000 hectare land in Mbaitoli local government area of the state, adding that it would create 5,000 jobs for Imo indigenes in particular and Nigerians in general.

He listed the features of the Smart City project to include a 24/7 power supply with hydro and solar energy running simultaneously, a FIFA standard stadium, an Olympic sized swimming pool, world class high rise hospitals, with helipads where helicopters would be landing to pick patients and other high rise edifices; educational institutions to be populated with people from different continents; adequate security, among others.

The commissioner said the Korean investors would fund it and eventually recoup what they spend through the sales they would organise, especially as very important personalities would be coming from different parts of the world to patronise the services that would be available in the city.
