Science/Technology / Charge Your Phone With A Burning Fire by habuchelsea(m): 2:46pm On May 05, 2016

Don't quote me wrong on this i actually mean you can charge your phone using a new technological charger which warrants the use of burning fire NOT to put the phone inside fire to charge it. lol, I wonder how technology will become in the near future because you just can't imagine how the world is drastically changing here and there. FlameStower charger is the answer to all this whereby it uses a burning fire to charge any kind of phone that support the use of USB cord.

it cannot only charge your phone but any device with a micro-USB port like camera, flashlight and others. Any fire source will work including camp stove, campfire or grill and its light, compact and rugged in appearance. it uses 2.5 average watts of power which is quite enough to charge your phone in about 2.5 hours, 2 minutes of charge time gives 4 minutes of talk time.

This is basically designed to work with any open flame, cooking stoves, emergency candles and anything. once the blade is in fire, the thermal energy is transferred to the thermoelectric generator TEG and the opposite surface of the TEG is in contact with the water reservoir. Hot side get hot and cold side remains cool in which the difference generate electricity to charge your phone.

You should know that this won't charge your phone as fast as your normal charging adaptor but its actually important in terms of electricity blackout or in the case of those spending much time in the bush while running out of battery, then i guarantee this is your solution to tackle battery drainage on your phone.

The charger is available at Amazon at an affordable price of just $100

You can check out the youtube video of how it works

Yeah, what you see or heard is actually right, i also can't believe it, the competition is now turning very serious after the emergence of MTN 1.3GB for 1k and 2GB + Airtime for N2K etisalat is also now unleashing one of its cheapest data plan. i know you will be thinking that this plan is a weekly based plan but capital NO this is a fresh data plan introduced by etisalat which will give you 1GB of data at an affordable price of just N500. Android users are now selective of which data plan to go for because the networks are both rocking the competition so fast and tide.

Well its our opportunity now to rock it and i believe in the near future one doesn't have to look for a cheat or tweak to browse because everything will become affordable and cheap. After i received the text about that offer i was so suprised as to how the networks are now desperate in challenging one another despite the fact that there call rate was not that far cheap.

Doubting thomas is what makes me to contact there CC online and chat with them in other to confirm that the offer is genuine, yeah its good plan and from the information i got is that the plan is for newly activated line i.e. new etisalat simcard, just buy a new etisalat sim card and register it to activate this package but as a matter of suprised my old etisalat line was rocking perfectly at the time of this post.

How to subscribe for Etisalat 1GB for N500
Load N500 Airtime on your etisalat line
Simply dial *229*2*2#
Check your data balance with *228#

Whats your take on this new package

So MTN is deducting your airtime unnecessarily since 19th century and you dont know what to do? eh? I bet its over now. Are you not surprised why over 2 million subscriber dumb MTN this year, challenges are too much and the company is facing many roadblocks including unsolicited messages and unnecessary charges by them. Today i can give you my insight on how MTN refund my deduct Credit.

You know when you load a recharge card, you receive a message about some charges you did not activate or you don't even know about sometimes you won't receive a text about a deduction and when you lay a complain to their customer, they keep narrating super stories.

You can't imagine after loading 400 in my account around 8pm i can't find a single kobo in the morning nor any alert message regarding the deduction. If it happens you are also a victims of such baseless deduction then you are on the right track solve your problem i.e. to make MTN refund your deduct credit. if actually the deduction is baseless, not of any origin or there is no justification to that deduction, then they must refund.

How to Refund your MTN Airtime
Its simple just call the NCC contact centre by dialling

622

You can call NCC contact centre from monday to saturday 8am to 8pm, you cant reach them on sunday or national holiday.

The toll number is free, you are not going to be charged and they can answer your call immediately without wasting much time.

They can ask you so many series of question regarding your line and if your allegation proves right, the complain is going to be forwarded to MTN and your problem is going to be solved within 24 hours.

Its simple just 622 and you are done with MTN, not even MTN any other network in nigeria.

Phones / Why Gtbank *737# Service Menu Is Not Secured. A MUST READ by habuchelsea(m): 12:53pm On Apr 12, 2016
You may be amazed why a mere Blogger will be complaining about the banking security system of one of the best nigerian Banks. Well everybody has a different preconceived notion regarding different point of view as how someone view a situation. GTbank is one of the best nigerian bank in providing quality and efficient service to its customers more especially by introducing the *737# menu to allow its customers perform different kind of transaction like recharging your phone, paying your bills and opening an account with them and many more (check HERE).

Nowadays online transaction are much as everybody engage himself one way or the other to buy something online or perform a certain transaction with his bank account and with *737# Menu you can easily transfer money from someone bank account to your bank account directly by just using the last four (4) digits of his ATM card.

Disclaimer
This post was not associated with GTbank or its associates and its not written to detriment the image of GTbank but to make you aware of some security flaw and a solution to make your banking transaction simple and safer.

How *737# Code works with GTbank
This is a service menu that is used by any Gtbank customer to buy airtime, pay your nepa or DSTv bill, send airtime to friends, transfer money from your account directly to any other Gtbank customer or to other banks respectively. When you just dial *737# with the phone number you used in opening the account it will show up a menu of different transactions, assuming you want to transfer money to a friend, then what you need to do is just to select 4 and fill the requisite field available, after completing everything you need to use your last four (4) digits of your ATM card to authenticate the transaction. Basically you can notice that the last four (4) digits of your ATM card is the backbone of this transaction and without it *737# Menu is useless.

Unfortunate Situation
You have a GTbank account with huge amount of money inside and unfortunately for you someone inside your Office, family or a workaround friend is pretending to be a good Samaritan to you thereby given him access to your phone or your ATM card thinking that all is well. That mole within you can be able to memorize the last four (4) digits of your ATM card at a glance and whenever he is opportune to have access to your phone, he can easily transfer money to his bank account within couple of minutes and even thereby deleting the alert messages available on your phone, you can not be able to notice the transaction at the spot unless you are like me in collecting bank statement every month, which unfortunately for you and fortunately for him you are being frauded easily.

How to Protect Yourself from being Scam
Well haven't notice of the loophole is for you to know and be aware the kind of security counter measure you should check and implement to make sure that the unfortunate circumstance in the above paragraph never occurs. For those using Android phone i can recommend you to use Applock (download HERE) in securing most of your Application especially the "phone" where someone dials a number or if you using another device that cannot support Applock you can always lock the phone using the security feature provided by the manufacturer of the device and still in some cases someone will remove your sim and put it on other device, in this case you are also mandated to enable sim card lock on your SIM as its best way for this.

Not only that, your ATM card is a great asset to you and you need to make it confidential by not disclosing it to anybody especially if you suspecting someone of a similar behaviour. Dont allow many people to get a hold of you ATM card even for a glance.

My Recommendation to GTbank
Gtbank engineers might not be aware of this certain security flaw but am using this platform as means of recommending a new secret password/PIN to be introduced for proper execution of the *737# service Menu i.e. one has to cram his password/PIN thereby not telling anybody as in similar to ATM card PIN which i believe will be difficult for anyone to guess and to discontinue the use of ATM last four (4) digits PIN.

Conclusion
Security is an illusion, weather you are using any other commercial bank in nigeria or abroad you have to be always vigilant and take counter measures in securing your banking details because anything that has advantage also have its disadvantage.

Phones / Best And Fast Android Browsers This 2016 by habuchelsea(m): 8:47pm On Apr 11, 2016
Hi Android Users, hope you are enjoying your smartphone more especially in terms of browsing, downloading and or streaming with it, but we don't know which browser you are using to get your job done fast. there many different categories of android browsers available in playstore but we will take a look at the top ten most used browsers and there advantages over another.

I believe after taking a look at the underlisted browsers, you will definately change your mind and grab the best downloader suitable for your need.

1). Google Chrome

Of course we give the obligatory nod to the most popular browser on Android and that’s Chrome browser. It offers direct syncing with your desktop version by logging into Google along with a competent browsing experience. It has some swipe navigation, an unlimited number of browser tabs, and it is a very solid and stable experience. Also, if you’re going for the all Google experience, this is the browser you want.

2). Opera Browser

We’ve reviewed Opera Browser a bunch of times and that’s because it’s a really nice browser. It has all the features you’d expect in a browser with a relatively quick browsing experience. There are there is and add-ons as well as the Speed Dial and Discover features to help give you a more entertaining browsing experience. It’s definitely worth a shot.

3). Firefox

It's fast, it's free, it fully supports Firefox Sync, so if you use Firefox on the desktop, it'll bring in your bookmarks and passwords. It's the first mobile browser to truly support Do Not Track, its tabs helps you get right back to what you were doing if you had to put your phone down. It supports add-ons and Personas, although there aren't too many of them yet. A few more options, and Firefox would be a good contender for our favorite, but it's clearly already one of yours, and for good reason.

4). Baidu Browser

First up is Baidu browser. In terms of looks it looks like what you’d except out of a browser. You can have windowed tabs or actual tabs at the top if you prefer. There is also a night mode, swipe navigation, a decent list of tools and actions to perform, and even a floating icon that lets you open the browser from anywhere. It performed as well as you can expect from a browser and it has a strong feature set that can compete with others.

5). Dolphin Browser for Android

Dolphin is one of the only browsers with its own theme engine. You can customize your browsing experience however you choose, and the entire experience is free. If you need desktop sync but aren't a fan of the big names offering the service, Dolphin is absolutely worth a look.

The folks behind Dolphin browser started out on mobile devices, and as a result their sync features extend to all of the popular desktop browsing experiences. dolphin has also grown up right alongside Android, It has a custom voice search and browse feature, gesture controls to access sites you frequently visit, and a third party add-on service with plenty of extra options.

6). Boat Browser/Mini

Back in the early days of Android, one of the first browsers to challenge the stock browser was a now-vanished app called Miren. Miren was a great and feature-rich browser, but for reasons unknown, it's tough to find these days. If you liked Miren, Boat Browser is its spiritual successor. Fast, lightweight, and completely free, Boat is intuitive, supports add-ons, and has a powerful voice control engine (so you can say "Facebook" and the browser will bring up Facebook for you). You can even skin and theme the UI if you like, customize the speed dial start page with your favorite sites, and more. If your phone can't handle the full version—or you just want a lighter app (which is hard to believe), Boat Mini is there for you.

7). Next Browser

As with most of these browsers, Next Browser focuses on speed. Unlike many of these browsers, it does this quite well. It also boasts a small footprint so it’s ideal for older devices who want better browsing without the more bloated options. There are add on options if you need them but overall this is a very nice browser.

8. UC Browser

This browser has fairly impressive performance and, based on the sites it recommends when you open it, is targeted to people not in the United States which is actually quite refreshing. It includes some features like speed mode which helps you browse even faster and auto pager which loads multiple pages at once so multi-page articles are easier to read.

9). Maxthon Browser

Maxthon Browser used to carry a little flack because it has been included as bundled software on devices before but we assure you, it isn’t bloatware. Maxthon has a lot of features and most of them are behind the scenes, leaving you with just the web browsing. There are add-ons supported and it is a solid browsing experience.

10). Link Bubble Browser

It doesn't matter how fast your mobile web browser is or how great your mobile data connection is, there's always going to be some delay between pressing a link and getting the content you want. You tap the link, and are whisked away to another app to wait while the page loads. Chris Lacy had another thought for how a web browser should behave, and he called it Link Bubble.

Webmasters / How To Stop People From Stealing Your Information Online by habuchelsea(m): 10:56am On Apr 10, 2016
Going online is already a part of our daily routines. Whenever you send e-mails, post on numerous social networking sites, sign-up for newsletters, create accounts, or shop online, you automatically share and receive information. And if you’re not too careful with your online transactions, this makes you vulnerable to identity and information theft. Fortunately, there are ways to prevent this from happening to you. Read on and find out how not to be a victim of online identity theft.

Major tips on how stop people from stealing your information Online
In the Internet age, almost anyone is vulnerable to identity and information theft. Be vigilant and follow these steps to prevent it from happening to you.

Always keep your firewall on: A firewall is part of a computer system designed to prevent unauthorized access to your computer and data while you’re using the Internet or while you’re logged on to a computer network. It acts much like a brick wall or a shield between your computer and any intruders who want access to private networks. Firewall is responsible for filtering messages and data that comes in and out when you use the Internet. Those that do not meet specific security criteria are blocked. You can adjust your computer’s security settings but do not turn off your firewall. Once it is off, your computer is vulnerable to intruders and hackers.

Limit the information you share online: This is the most practical tip of all. The less information about you that can be accessed online, the less likely you’ll be a victim of identity and information theft. When signing up for something, leave out personal information that’s not related or necessary to what you’re signing up for.

Keep your anti-virus software updated: You should use reliable anti-virus software. Some are free and can be downloaded in an instant like AVG, Avira AntiVir, or Avast. Check the links below for lists of the best free downloadable anti-virus software. Most anti-virus programs automatically do updates once you’re connected to the Internet. And when there’s something wrong with your software or you need to manually update it, a prompt will warn you in time. You also have the option to use a premium edition of anti-virus software; that is if you’re willing to shell some money for it. It’s usually a package containing the beefed up anti-virus program, plus other useful extras like spyware and ad or pop-up blockers to name a few.

Do not use auto-fill: Windows has an auto fill feature that saves the information you filled out on websites like name, address, contact numbers, e-mail address, etc. It can be convenient because the next time you need to fill out something using any of this data, it would appear immediately once you type the first few characters. Do not use this feature if you’re using a public computer or sharing one with others. It’s like easily giving them the opportunity to access your files and identity.

Disable and delete cookies: Cookies are instantly downloaded into a folder in your computer once you visit a website. These are encrypted in text format and may include a kind of ID number, login details, pages visited, domain names, even banners, graphics, and ads. Visiting one website may generate multiple cookies. The danger is that cookies contain information that can be tracked once an intruder gains access to your computer. Be selective with the websites where you enable cookies. You can open the Cookies folder and edit the contents, but this will take time. For a faster solution, use a web browser that allows for privacy settings adjustment and cookie options like Internet Explorer 6. It will help you weed out cookies coming from advertisements and annoying pop-ups.

Shop from familiar, trusted sites: Buy only from reliable major retailers like Amazon, global shopping sites like E-bay, or honest sellers you’ve dealt with before. Use safe third-party sites such as PayPal to dispense money every time you go shopping online.

Computers / How To Enable Expert Mode On Windows PC by habuchelsea(m): 9:01am On Mar 26, 2016

Everyone knows the control panel has a lot of features and options but seems a lot more difficult for those that can't be able to explore through and configure what they need. With the Enabling of Expert Mode you can be able to view all your control panel settings in one folder grouped by application which will be simpler and easier for starters to modify their system settings.

Users of windows 8.1 and windows 10 tend to find it difficult to look for a specific settings in their control panel after checking and re-checking but still can't be able to find what's required which as a result sometimes make someone to downgrade back to windows 7.

I believe from now on after reading this guide you won't be able to even look back for your control panel, because all you need is stored in a one single folder on your desktop for easy access. As the name implies Expert Mode or sometimes being referred to as Master control panel which is a single folder on your desktop that contains your control panel settings split.

How to Enable Expert Mode on your windows PC

First and foremost, to enable Expert Mode on your windows PC either windows 7, 8, 8.1 or 10 create a new folder on your desktop and rename it to this>>>

Expert Mode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

copy the above code and paste it as the name of your new folder

immediately after renaming it to the above given code the folder will change its icon to that of control panel, which after then, you can open to view all your necessary settings easily. you can see that the folder contains so many setting segregated into different categories, you can also search anything your need by using the search bar at the top right hand side of the Expert Mode folder.

Don't worry about compatibility, because its compatible with windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 respectively.

Computers / Why You Should Use Googledrive Than Other Cloud Storage To Store Files Online by habuchelsea(m): 12:30pm On Mar 22, 2016

Google drive is an online cloud storage service powered by google that let users stores and synchronize digital content either in form of music, pictures, video, documents and/or application across computers, laptops and mobile devices including Android Powered tablet and smartphone devices. Well without disturbing you with big grammar i think in this 21st century using google drive as a means to store your files is much more valuable and guaranteed than the local hard drive, because anything that is stored online is secured for long time without having the fear of loss/theft or any unauthorized access by anybody.

the way technology is coming this closer and closer more especially those who are always online like bloggers, webmasters, researchers and so on, i think the most easiest and convenient way to save important documents is using cloud drive which is why i recommend Google drive, Because most of all people that are online now have Gmail Account.

i know many of you are aware of Google Drive and are using it while some are aware of it but aren't taken such into consideration because of the exorbitant cost of data internet plans in nigeria as for the time being.

Actually not everything deserve to be uploaded online, you can't just upload any trash online because of the data usage but there are some important documents like PDF file, word documents ranging from assignment, project and any other important material which you might not want to lose it.

Each and every Gmail Account that is existing and those that will be created have a free space of 15GB automatically to that account consisting of google drive, photos and mail. you can even upload a folder to your google drive or create a folder within to re-organize your documents.

Despite the fact that Google is now the best in terms of both search engine and e-mailing services doesn't stop our dear naij.com to introduce the first and best Nigerian E-mail service. I know some are aware of the recent development but many don't know about the emergence of this newly Nigerian E-mail service.

The naij.com interface was perfect and good and much more simpler that other e-mail services which is also a perfect way for starters to start sharing their ideas through one of the nigerian best news portal site. I know most of us use Google mail, yahoo mail, hotmail and other mail services but it is also good to patronize our home made e-mail services.

Phones / Simple Method On How To Activate And Transfer Airtime On All Nigerian Network by habuchelsea(m): 3:19pm On Dec 25, 2015
We all know that sharing is caring and all the airtime in your account sometimes you aren't the only person to use or exhaust it because we all know third party has to play some role. Credit transfer is the process of sending airtime from your account directly to another subscriber in the same network. Now you can ask is it possible to share your airtime to another person in different network? actually as of now and at the time of this post the telecom's providers does not enable or activate this particular feature because of reasons best known to them but we are hoping and anticipating some changes in the coming blessfull year.

All the networks in nigeria are currently operating this services under different pattern, structure and/or strategy, whereby MTN labelled there own as share 'n' sell Airtel make theirs as me2u GLO uses easyshare and finally Etisalat names it as easy airtime transfer service.

Well i believe today with the following guide am about to show, you will be able to activate and start sharing or selling your airtime from your account directly irrespective of the network you are using.

One thing i love about this method of sharing airtime is that it is convenient and flexible as you do not need to go out looking for a recharge card seller to buy or be worried about the different denomination of the card as you can even share N101 to the intended recipient, moreover its secure as PIN or password protected is involved

Without distracting you with much noise lets take a look at the tutorial that will help you transfer airtime in any nigerian network.

For MTN users

About MTN share 'n' sell
MTN share 'n' sell is services that is created by MTN to assist it's subscribers in sending airtime from their MTN account to another MTN customers account directly. share 'n' sell is available to any existing MTN prepaid/postpaid customer.

The process and procedures to transfer airtime from your account to another customers account is available in both SMS and USSD string codes and there is no limit to the maximum of transaction per day.

The minimum amount to be transferred at a time is N50 and the maximum amount is N5000 in a single transaction.

How to activate MTN share 'n' sell service
When i say activation am actually referring to the process of changing the default MTN PIN to enable you make the transaction securely. MTN provides a default PIN for each subscriber and the need for that subscriber to use the default PIN and change it to his/her own memorable four-digits numbers which he can easily remember to authenticate his/her transaction anytime at anywhere. the default PIN is 0000 for each MTN line, as before changing the PIN via USSD codes is actually active but as of now and at the time of this post you will always receive no reply when try to change with USSD codes which renders you with no option than to use the SMS alternative in changing your PIN. here is how to change your PIN using sms

Airtime transfer cannot exceed the amount of credit available on the transferring subscribers network and each subscriber is entitled to N5000/transaction per day, meaning you cannot send airtime to another airtel subscriber of more than N5000 either at a single transaction or split.

Each subscriber will be charge N10 for each and every single transaction that is successful and you cannot transfer the whole credit on your account without accounting for that N10 service charge.

How to activate airtel Me2U service
As always when i said activation am referring to the process of changing your transfer PIN to make it more secure. As usual but not always, you have to change the default PIN to a secret four-digit number to authenticate the transaction securely.
