There are usually so many job seekers out there and they all have resumes submitted to a hiring manager. These hiring managers usually don’t have time to read every single detail on a resume, so they just take a glance at a particular resume and just skim through it.

This is what usually happens and why many job seeker’s resumes are usually dumped in the trash.
When a hiring manager opens a resume and looks at it and sees information scattered all over the place i.e It has a very poor layout and structuring, then the manager will not find any interest in going through the rest of the resume and hence dumping it in the pile of trash all because the format for a curriculum vitae is not followed.
Why do they dump it because they have a lot of resumes to grow through and they will look for any excuse to write you off if you give them one.

DON’T give your hiring manager a reason to write you off the list of job seekers likely to get a job all you need to do is follow good best format for a curriculum vitae.

NYSC / How To Use Medical Report For Redeployment 5 Steps You Must Follow by harjardy(m): 12:56pm On Oct 25, 2021
Medical report for redeployment: many PCM found it discouraging when they see where they are been posted for their service year after printing their call-up letter even some PCM refuses to report to camp whenever they are been posted far and wait for the following batch to revalidate.

I don’t blame them because most PCM have this fear of traveling to some certain part of the country due to some reasons.

Although there are some ways you can redeploy from the state of deployment to another state.

In this article, I will show you how to use a medical report for redeployment if you are planning to redeploy from one state to another.

What is NYSC redeployment/relocation.
Redeployment/relocation should not be confused because both of them are of the same meaning when it comes to the NYSC issue.

Redeployment is the process whereby a corps member changes his or her initial start of deployment to another state of his or her choice.

Romance / The Pregnant Corper. Episode 1 by harjardy(m): 10:11am On Jul 16, 2021
A true life Story, Enjoy it
Ifeoma

Will you judge me after I’ve narrated my story? I hope you won’t! As an undergraduate in the university, I’d judged girls who got laid during the three-week orientation camp of the NYSC I pride myself in self-dignity and believed I couldn’t give myself out cheaply to any man, especially after I had learnt the hard way.

I was deceived in my first year in the university by a final year student who capitalised on my naïvety and ignorance on matters of love and relationship. He used his honey-coated tongue, whispered countless promises into my ears and coaxed me into believing that he loved and would marry me. I thought I had found the love of my life the way mum met dad in her first year in school. Before I could say ‘Jack Robinson’, he’d snuck under my panties, stolen my virginity, and disappeared immediately he received his NYSC call-up letter. I didn’t even know the state he was posted to. He blocked me from all his social media accounts. I learnt the hard way and put on an iron pant after that bitter experience. Sadly, my iron pants didn’t last long.

I became a born-again Christian and a worker in my church. I did the Lord’s work under the oversight of Pastor Lere, a young, smart, and brilliant student pastor who was at the helm of affairs of the campus chapter of the church. He helped students overcome their challenges by assisting them financially, morally and spiritually. He advised students like me, who had been deceived, jilted and heartbroken, on relationships and our lives in general. Before long, I fell in love with Lere. By the second semester of our sophomore year, we had started dating. We dated till my final year even though we barely had sex. I was not a sex freak like majority of the students in my school- Olabisi Onabanjo University.

One fateful black Saturday, after a house fellowship in Lere’s house, I got an urgent call from my mum that my dad was ill and I had to leave early rather than linger for a couple of hours or more as usual. I travelled to my family at Ibadan, which was less than forty-five 45 minutes by road from Ago-Iwoye. I got to my hostel and threw a few belongings into one of my bags and set out for the garage to take a bus home.

Pain welled up in my heart when I got home to find that my dad had suffered a heart attack. I tried my best in assisting my dad with prayers as the doctors battled to save his life. The attack proved stronger and tougher than my prayers because it took my dad’s life two days later. Exams were around the corner so I had to return to school while dad’s corpse was kept at the morgue pending the time his relatives in the village would plan the burial. His body had to be taken to our hometown, Igbo Ukwu in Anambra, for burial. On returning to school, I went straight to Lere’s house hoping for some soothing words.

NYSC / How To Make Nysc Post You To A State Of Your Choice by harjardy(m): 2:40pm On Jan 18, 2020
Almost all PCM will want NYSC to post them to their place of choice, this has been given a lot of people concern on how they can make it happen.

In this post, I’m going to share little trick with you which has been helping some corps members i n the past.

There is no guarantee that this will work for you but at least, it will increase your chances of getting your most preferred state of choice.

NYSC can decide to post you to any state apart from the 4 options you’re given expect you do Concessional Posting or Direct Posting

Gentlemen Prospective Corps Members (PCMs), how are you preparing for the upcoming NYSC online registration?

Do you have a particular state in mind that you want NYSC to post you? Do you know there is a way to influence your posting without paying anybody?

I want to show you how to make NYSC post you to place of your choice without paying anybody.

How to make NYSC post you to a place of your choice

I want you to understand that this is legal. It is just about how to select states during NYSC registration in order to increase your chance of NYSC posting to your state of choice. So, there is nothing illegal about the whole process.

The only thing I want you to do right now is to pay attention as I show you how to make NYSC post you to place of your choice. Try it and thank me later.

Without wasting your time, let me quickly show you the trick and how it works.

During the NYSC online registration, you will be asked to choose 4 states of your choice. Also, NYSC will ask you to indicate the States you visited before.

Any state you pick to have visited, will not be included on the list of states where you will choose 4 states of choice.

For example; if you tell NYSC that you have visited Abia, Anambra and Lagos state. In the list of states from where to choose 4 states of choice, Abia, Anambra and Lagos will not be available for selection.

The whole idea is that NYSC doesn’t want to post anyone to a state they have visited in the past. Although, the reason is best known to the management.

So, before you choose your 4 states of choice, NYSC will first ask you to pick those states you have visited in the past.

Any state you select as visited will not display on the list of states to choose as state of your choice.

The trick and how it works
Now, here is the trick.

When NYSC ask you to pick states that you have visited before, you should pick those states that you never want them to post you.

NYSC / Meaning And Process Of NYSC Remobilization. by harjardy(m): 5:41pm On Dec 06, 2019
NYSC Remobilization is a situation whereby corps members have completed his or her registration in the CAMP and abscond from the camp due to some certain reasons or after being posted to his or her place of primary assignment (PPA) and if such corps member absconds and refuses to complete the service year.

Remobilization also takes place if a corper was sent out of the camp for participating in sexual activities, fighting, smoking, gambling etc.

Another way remobilization comes in is the situation whereby a corps member refuses to report to his or her PPA for the period of 90 to 110 days, such corps member will be declared ABCONDED CORPS MEMBER.

If any of the aforementioned points happened to any corps member such person will have to remobilize.

How to Apply For NYSC Remobilization.
It takes the NYSC state secretariat about 5 months to announce a corp member as absconded and informs the headquarters. This is because the LGI, ZI and State Coordinator will have to confirm that such corps member has fled.

If any corps member absconded instantly after camp without collecting any allowance (other than the ones paid at the camp) good for you. If a corper absconded from service after collecting allowance outside the camp, such corper will refund it.

Steps Involved in Processing NYSC Remobilization
1. You will have to travel down to the NYSC secretariat of the state you were posted to (good luck if it is far from you).

2. There, locate the Office of Corps Discipline and Reward. Inform them that you want to apply for remobilization and you came to check for “LETTER OF DECISION“. If the state officials haven’t sent their letter of decision to Abuja, you will be given the option of returning to service with extension for the number of days missed. If they have submitted their decision, the head of the department will check if the National Headquarters have sent a remobilization decision. If no, your long wait begins. Letter of decisions usually takes about 3 months to return from Abuja (except you somehow manage to influence the speed, maybe by divine intervention). If there is a letter of decision, good, if not you go home and return some other time.

3. Go to your bank (the one you registered for collection of allowee) and request for Bank Account Statement. This will serve as proof that you either received an allowance or not. If you did not receive any allowance outside the camp, go to the next step. If you did, calculate how much NYSC paid into your account and refund via REMITA.

4. To refund via REMITA, go to a CYBER CAFE and inform them you want to make REMITA payment to the TREASURY SINGLE ACCOUNT under NYSC, and select Personnel Cost as Purpose of Payment (you can verify this by heading to the Accounts department of the State NYSC and asking for directions on how to refund allowance). Make the payment at the nearest bank using your generated RRR number and make about four photocopies of the Teller, Remita payment slip and Account Statement as proof.

5. After presenting your Account Statement (and proof of payment in case you refunded allowee) at the Corps Discipline and Reward office, you will be asked to write a letter to the DG informing Him of your willingness to return to service. The Head of Corps Discipline and Reward will guide you on how to do that.

NYSC / Check Why You Are Not On The Nysc Senate List. by harjardy(m): 10:52pm On Dec 05, 2019
As we all know that NYSC senate list is the list comprising all the qualified graduates for NYSC programme, many PCM still wonders why their names does not show on the list, stay calm as I will be revealing to you the reason.

These are the major factors that determine if your name will or will not appear on the list :

1. Jamb Regularization

2. Jamb matriculation list,

3. Pre-mobilization,

4. Incorrect Data,

5. Schools.

This article will explain to you in details every information you need to overcome the issue of name not showing on the senate list.

Now, below are the factors that influence the senate list :

Jamb Regularization: Graduates who do not get their admissions directly from the jamb, need to do jamb regularization. If you have done JAMB Regularization, you also need to validate it from JAMB database. If not your name will not appear on the NYSC Senate list. Those most affected are Polytechnic graduates, Pre-science, Premilaries and direct entry etc.

In the short term, if you don’t have JAMB admission letter, just know that you ate affected.

JAMB Matriculation list: This is very important, there is no way your name will appear on the JAMB Matriculation List. To overcome this problem, check if your name is on the Jamb Matriculation list, if it’s not, then go to the jamb website to print out your JAMB admission letter and submit it to the admission office of your school.

Pre-mobilization: if you do not sign up for NYSC at Students’ Affairs Unit in your schools, then it is possible that your name will not appear on the Senate list.

Some institutions, automatically pre-mobilized it’s graduates for NYSC, while many institutions do it manually. So, find out from your school if you need to sign-up for NYSC mobilization before it is too late.

Incorrect Data: your institution may make mistake while entering your name on the list, therefore it is important you verify your name on the Senate list with your institution before they start uploading it online.

Schools: Yes, your school need to upload the Senate list, and then take the hard copy of the uploaded list to NYSC headquarters in Abuja for verification. Otherwise, your school do that, your name will not show on the Senate list. In this case, contact your school.

NYSC / The Nysc Dressing Code Addressed By The Dg by harjardy(m): 9:57pm On Nov 12, 2019
NYSC DRESS CODE: THE POSITION
The Director – General, National Youth Service Corps Scheme, Brig Gen Shuaibu Ibrahim notes with great concern the negative perception of the Scheme’s dress code, arising mostly from some Corps Members’ disobedience to the dictates of the code.
For the avoidance of doubt, the Scheme has maintained one dress code since 22nd May, 1973 it was established, devoid of ethnic, religious or gender bias.
The dress code remains, depending on the activity: a pair of khaki trousers and shirt; crested vest; white vest; a pair of white shorts; a pair of zebra – stripped socks; a pair of jungle boots; a pair of canvas; belt and fez cap.

It is imperative to state that the National Youth Service Corps Camp, predicated on discipline and decency is a training ground for Corps Members. Any other dress code, contrary to the officially sanctioned one will not promote the course of decency.
For instance, it will be utterly reprehensible for a female Corps Member to embark on obstacle crossing, and so many other physical training activities on camp, including parade in skirt or gown, which obviously will expose her indecently, thus, leaving little or nothing to the imagination.
The Management observed with dismay the defacing of the NYSC uniform by some Corps Members by reshaping their khaki trousers, making them skin – tight which unduly exposes their curvatures, particularly the female Corps Members. Some others in the name of religion turn the pair of trousers issued to them into the skirt.

The Scheme, therefore, considers the unwholesome act an affront to decency on one hand, as well as constituted authority on the other. It was for that reason that the Scheme came up with the policy of having prospective Corps Members sign an undertaking form to the effect that they will not deface the NYSC uniform, but abide by the dress code of the Corps.

NYSC / How To Make Money During Your Service Year. by harjardy(m): 7:19am On Nov 08, 2019
You might be wondering how you can make money during your service year, in this write up I’m going to show you various way to make money during your service year.

As an NYSC Youth Corp member, it is unwise to waste all your time and hope depending on the stipend paid by the government which amounts to nothing. The expenses of life coupled with the deadening costs of things can barely support the N19, 800 paid at month-end. Most times the N19, 800 paid finishes before the months comes to an end and you will be wandering from pillar to post seeking for help.

Below are the possible ways to make money during your service year as an NYSC member and generate massive income within your service year:
1. Start Home Tutorial

As a corper, you can make money but taking primary and secondary school pupils tutorials at home. Many youth corpers extend this service to students preparing for exams like common entrance, Junior WAEC, WASSCE, neco, gce, jamb and post-utme. All you need to do is inform the community where you are service about what you are capable of teaching. You can also print posters and distribute them in the community. This business is easy for corpers as a major percentage of them serve in schools where they have frequent contact with parents.

2. Start A Dry Cleaning or Laundry Service:

Dry cleaning business or laundry service is very lucrative. You can be visiting houses to get jobs at first. Once you have a lot of orders, by which time you must have gathered sufficient cash, you may consider renting a space at an affordable rate. This could be a shop or an open space. But start from where you live first. That is, start small and grow big.

3. Start A Photography Business:

As an NYSC Youth Corp member, understand that Photography business is a very high paying business today. Forget about the stiff competition. You can go far if you are good, and you promote yourself very well – a big thanks to the advent of the social media. If you know graphics and designs very well, or even a bit of it, that will be an added advantage as you will be eating from “both sides of the mouth”. What that means is that you would be offering photography services and at the same time, handling graphics and design services. When you apply your knowledge of graphics and designs to photography, you have an added advantage over those who don’t.

4. Blogging And Other Online Businesses For Corpers

Many Nigerian youth are currently involved in making money online. There are different avenues to generate income from the internet. Personally, I made quite a lot of money from blogging and selling information products during my service year. Whether you are interested in starting a blogging, bulk sms, affiliate marketing, social media marketing or data reselling business, dedication in the face of not making anything is the key. To build a successful online business, you need more than money as your motivation. With zero capital, you can

NYSC / How To Secure A Good Place Of Primary Assignment Without Connection by harjardy(m): 8:17pm On Nov 04, 2019
The Nysc Place of Primary Assignment (PPA) is where you are expected to render selfless service with dedication for a year of active service to your country.
PPA is the second stage of your Nysc service year after your 21 days on various orientations camps in the country. The orientation camp is actually the main part of your Nysc, after camp, you would realize the camp was just the best and fun part of the whole Nysc programme.
During your PPA, you are expected to be vigilant, interact and learn from the locals with humility and as well make a lasting positive impact on those that will come across your way.

Your Place of Primary Assignment is the organization you are posted to as a corp member aka corper in Nigeria for a full year of active service. It serves as your first post-institution job experience which makes it an important section of your Curriculum Vitae (CV) and this shouldn’t be taken lightly if you want to get the best out on it.
It is worthy to note that there are several National Youth Service Corp job opportunities out there, only if you can get the correct information at the right time and apply it in the best possible way.

The following benefits are what you stand to enjoy during and after your service year experience in a reputable Place of Primary Assignment:
You could be retained in the organization after you have completed your year of service to continue working with higher pay, now that you are no longer a corp member.

You might acquire some training from the organization free of charge or at a subsidized rate since you have contributed your man-hour quota during your service year with little or no payment.

NYSC / NYSC Redeployment And Its Process by harjardy(m): 11:04pm On Nov 02, 2019
What is NYSC Redeployment?
In this article, I'm going to show what you need to know on NYSC redeployment and how you can secure it successfully.
NYSC Redeployment is the same thing as NYSC relocation, it means the moving or transfer of corps members from the state which he/she was initially posted to another state after being undergone the necessary process.
Some Corps members felt that everything has come to an end after they have received their call-up letter. That's not the end, you can basically apply for relocation based on some grounds.

Ground for Redeployment / Relocation.
There are three (3) solid ground which you can base your redeployment on if you want to do so, below are the grounds:-
1. Marital Ground
2. Health/ Medical Ground.
3. Security Ground.

1. Marital Ground
This ground is for married women who wish to serve in the same state/place which their husbands live.
Before you can successfully secure redeployment based on this ground you should be able to provide some essential documents to NYSC for the genuinely and shows that you are truly married.
These are the documents :
Marriage certificate
Newspaper Change of Name
Husband’s ID card (International passport, Voters’ card or Driving license)
Husband’s domicile letter
Utility bill
Wedding pictures

2. Health Ground
This ground is basically for those that have critical ailments that they are treating and they need to continue their treatment with regular medical checkups. This can only be done if they are close to their respective doctors.
Before you can successfully secure redeployment based on this ground, you must have gotten your medical report from either Military or Government hospital.

3. Security
There are some northern states which are affected by the problem of Boko Haram and another insurgency.
Any corps members posted to these affected can successfully secure relocation. The affected states include Born, Adamawa, Gombe, Yobe, and some other Northern states in that region.

How to Apply for Relocation.
NYSC relocation is categorized into two. Applying within the Camp and Online Application.

Apply within the Camp.
Applying within the camp is the most preferable option when seeking relocation. During your 21days stay in camp the form will be given to any interested corps members who requested it, this is done after the swearing-in ceremony.
It will be announced, so you will have to attentive and alert to know when it will be available for collection.
How does this work?

NYSC / Some Mistakes You Shouldn’t Make During Orientation Camp by harjardy(m): 12:02pm On Nov 01, 2019
Some Mistakes You Shouldn’t Make During Orientation Camp is a list of some things that you should not do, some mistakes you should avoid and some stunts you should never think of during your stay at the NYSC orientation camp.

Human beings like to do funny things sometimes. Graduates can be so hilarious that you would never think they can be so funny in taking some decisions. Some graduates would do some things at camp and you will want to ask ‘which school did you graduated from?’
Freshinfo present to you Some Mistakes You Shouldn’t Make During Orientation CampRudeness To Soldiers and NYSC officials.
Below are the mistakes you should try to avoid:

Being Rude To Soldier.
The Soldiers are not authorized to beat you during orientation camp, but they have every right to punish you.
On a normal day, outside orientation camp, you dare not be rude to a Soldier. But people might think because they are in camp, they have every right to be rude to any Soldier.
Number one mistake you will regret is being rude to Soldiers and NYSC officials. See them as friends, mothers, and fathers. They can be like a mother to you if you behave yourself and they can be a wicked boss of you don’t respect them.
Learn to add ‘sir’ to all your conversation with soldiers and NYSC Official. That would show you are not a half-baked graduate.
Show respects and don’t be rude

Lamination of Documents
Number 2 serial mistake you should not make is to laminate your documents. Keep them very well and do not laminate any of them. Lamination is not allowed. You should read this for more clarification. Do not laminate your statement of result, Medical Certificate, Green card and call up letter. I have been writing on this lamination issue because I know that some people will still make that mistake.
I care so much about you my reader, so please do not laminate any of your documents.

NYSC / Nysc Anthem : (lyrics And Audio) by harjardy(m): 9:47pm On Oct 31, 2019
NYSC anthem is compulsory to know for all corps members, and PCM because during your stay at camp and throughout your NYSC year, you will have to recite it every morning, and at any meeting.
Today we will have to look deep into the NYSC anthem, both the lyrics and the download link.
The anthem has 3 stanzas. If you are a Corps member or prospective corps member, try to know how to recite the anthem from Stanza one to Stanza three.

So below is the lyrics of the NYSC anthem, you could practice before time to avoid chewing your mouth. If you are going for NYSC orientation soon, you can download it and know it before getting to camp.

1st Stanza
Youths obey the clarion call
Let us lift our nation high
Under the sun or in the rain
With dedication and selflessness
Nigeria is ours, Nigeria we serve.

NYSC / Nysc Faq On Orientation Camp by harjardy(m): 7:16pm On Oct 30, 2019
LET HAVE SOME TIP OF ACTIVITIES IN CAMP
Are we going to be given pillows and foam in camp?

You will be given mattresses without pillows, however, you can buy a pillow from Mammy market.

If I go to camp with a mosquito net, and I was given upper bunk space, where will I get tent poles?

You will meet the ones left by previous Corps members or you can go with some nails but sure they don’t see at the gate but they will seize it from you.

I heard that sometime, Corpers will be given Condoms to do it, is true?

To do what?? Condoms may be given to you during HIV sensitization CDS in camp but not for you to do it in camp. If caught in that act, you will be decamped immediately.

I hear about camp thieves, how can one do laundry without losing ones clothes

Use temporary marker to write your name on all your properties. doing that would help to deter camp thieves.
Are there barbers or saloon for ladies in camp?

Yes, there are barbers. But for girls, I advice you plait your hair before coming because soldiers wont give you time for your hair.

Are their dry cleaners in orientation camp?

Yes, you will see many of them, and they can Iron you cloths as well.

Is attending churches on Sunday compulsory?

No!

NYSC / What Is NYSC Exemption Certificate All About And Who Is Entitled To It? by harjardy(m): 9:33pm On Oct 29, 2019
An NYSC exemption certificate is issued to someone who by law could not participate in the NYSC scheme despite the fact that such person attended a regular program in a University or Polytechnic program and graduated. I said ‘by law’ which is from the below paragraph.
In accordance with the National Youth Service Corps Decree 1993 section 2 subsection (1) it is stipulated that;

“With effect from 1st August, 1985, a person shall NOT be called upon to serve in the service corps if, at the date of graduation or obtaining his diploma or other professional qualification” :
1. He is over the age of thirty (30) years
2. He has served in the Armed Forces of the Federation or the Nigeria Police Force for a period of more than nine months; or
3. He is a member of staff of any of the following:
The Nigerian Security Organization or
The State Security Service, or
The National Intelligence Agency or
The Defence Intelligence Service
4. He has been conferred with any National Honour.
These categories of persons are therefore exempted from service and issued with the Certificates of Exemption.”

ELIGIBILITY
Nigerian Graduates either home or oversea trained who have the stipulated qualification of (B.SC, B.A or HND) from approved or accredited Institution by (NUC, NTBE or NCCE) are eligible for Exemption Certificate however while foreign trained graduates must submit their Certificates at the Mobilization Department for Evaluation.
What Are The Procedures To Get NYSC Exemption Certificate?
With the newly introduced online enrollment for prospective corps members, it has now becomes so easy for an excepted graduate too. All you just need to do is to get yourself registered as appropriate between the stipulated time. Pay whatever may be the registration fees like others and supply the necessary information.
