Politics / Re: Boko Haram Kills Pastor, Church Worker In North Nigeria by hasonjack: 8:59pm On Jun 10, 2011
I dont know but as a Nigerian everything and anything that happens in any part of the country affects me either directly or indirectly. The deaths are sad but insinuating the fact that they are after a particular religious group (pastor or church worker) is wrong. More of their kin - traditional rulers, imams, brother of reigning sultan, police men, innocent citizens etc. have lost their lifes.

Of course they are different to MEND. They are people with a strong agenda and are willing to die for that. The nation has gone about solving this problem the wrong way. When they caught their leader (Yusuf or what's his name) what happened to him? He was murdered in cold bold rather than get valuable information from him like those behind them and their sponsors.

JUST SAYING

Family / Re: What Should A Woman Do To A Drunk Husband? by hasonjack: 12:25am On Jun 01, 2011
The best solution is to tape him discreetly while drunk perhaps especially when he is aggressive. That way he might see how he is perceived from the outside. INNIT?

Ngodigha, I was wrong about you and sorry about that. I thought I was responding to one that has flair to decipher schism in intellectual discurse. I never know you don't even know your history. What a shame! Try journey through classical Igbos/Ibos/Igbos, I bet you will understand. I wait when you will submit, "I consent!".

Good point

Ngodigha:

The above post is an irrelevant crap. Nairaland forum has so many sections that deals with job, manufacturing, teaching etc. Why not go there and post than coming here to chat something not related to the topic.
The same way you will feel when your education institution awards you a certificate with a wrong spelling of your name is the same way Ndigbo feels about the topic.
Just deal with the topic or jump.

What has the spelling of your name in your certificate got to do with igbo or ibo misspelling. My point you guyz dont have to waste time complaining. Problem is from pronounciation, like me I pronounce Ibo right or wrong I dont know. is it IG'BOW?
Culture / Re: "Igbo" is to "Yoruba". "Ibo" is to "Yorooba" by hasonjack: 5:43pm On May 11, 2011
SEE HOW YOU ARE ALL WASTING TIME TALKING ABOUT USELESS ISSUES THAT DOESNT ADD ANYTHING TO THE SOCEITY. SO WHAT IF IT IS SPELT IGBO OR IBO? IS IT YOUR FATHERS LANGUAGE THIS ENGLISH? PLEASE DISCUSS ISSUES SUCH AS JOB CREATION, MANUFACTURING, TEACHING AND OTHER DISCOURSE THAT WILL IMPROVE OUR COLLECTIVE INTELLIGENCE AS A NATION. ALL THIS IS NOISE. IT HAS NO PLACE IN THE SOCEITY.

Business / Where To Convert Naira To Pound In London by hasonjack: 9:44pm On May 08, 2011
Hello Guys,

I didnt realise that there was no FOREX agents at Abuja Airport before departing for London. Now I'm stuck with some unwanted Naira bills. Any ideas where I could change them to pounds will be appreciated. I think I've seen some money transfer agents in Peckham but I'm not sure if they accept Naira.

Thanks
TV/Movies / Re: Dstv Explains Hike In Tarrifs by hasonjack: 9:26pm On Mar 19, 2011
there is absolutely no alternative to dstv for Nigeria. There is monopoly everywhere. Even in the UK, BSkyB has monopoly for football right and most new hollywood movies and series even though BBC has got funding by tax payers, they still arent competing. Capitalism for you. I aslo had hitv, it was crap.

Programming / Re: Android Developers 1 by hasonjack: 3:24am On Feb 21, 2011
I'm down with android as well. Thinking of doing something small but problem is how many of us in Naija use an android enabled device anyway. If they do then they are not the ordinary/casual users I'm targeting. Anyway with academic wahala for the next six months, I might not be able to concentrate.

Family / Re: Sexual Harasment In Higher Institutions by hasonjack: 3:06am On Feb 21, 2011
I am a lecturer in one of the state universities in the northern part of the country. Ladies twice came upto me fearing that they would fail offering sexual favours. Believe me, I've never felt so cheap in my life. And talking about untouchable, I dont think that works. Also students just come up to me with absolute confidence that they weren't expecting to fail - most often than not I check to make sure and I always get disappointed in their attempt that it beggars belief they actually expected to pass.

I love my job!
