Celebrities / Teenager's Head Doubles In Size After She Suffers Reaction To A Hair Dye. Pics by helobabe: 9:10pm On Nov 29, 2018 |
A teenager's head grew to twice its size after she suffered a severe allergic reaction to a hair dye that left her struggling to breathe. Estelle, a 19-year-old English student from Paris, suffered a disfigurement caused by the chemical PPD, which is found in 90 percent of hair dyes. Estelle, who shared photos of her swollen head on social media, says she had bought a standard hair dye from a supermarket in Val-de-Marne, on the outskirts of Paris. After applying it, she reacted to it. The allergy first caused her scalp to itch before the top of head started to swell up. Estelle attempted to treat herself using antihistamines and cream from a pharmacist but she awoke the next day to see her head had swollen to twice its size. Estelle before Estelle said that asides her swollen head, she was finding it difficult to breathe and her tongue started to swell. She was rushed to hospital where the circumference of her head measured 63cm rather than the average 56sm. Estelle is raising awareness about the dangers of PPD in hair dyes to ensure that others do not suffer like she did. She said: I almost died, I don't want something similar to happen to other people. Politics / Flood Destroys Lone Link Bridge To Lagos Community (photo) by helobabe: 7:26pm On Nov 29, 2018 |
A seasonal flood from the lagoon on Thursday destroyed the only access link bridge to Muwo Ojo Lagos coastal community, leaving residents stranded. Some of the residents, who left their homes on the fishing island, could not go back to their homes as the only already dilapidated bridge to the place had been washed away. Muwo community, a fishing settlement of about 2,000 inhabitants, is located along the fringes of the Lagos lagoon towards the Satellite Town opposite the Lagos International Trade Fair Complex. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the community, originally mapped out for fishermen, now plays host to traders at the trade fair market. A stranded resident of the area, one Mr. Akin Idowu, said the flood which used to come mostly in the evening, started on Wednesday, submerging buildings in the area. “We did not know that it will affect the rickety bridge, thereby making residents that left their homes in the morning to the upland not able to get back to their families. “It is a pathetic situation and this would not have gotten to this extent, had the state authorities heeded to calls by the resident before now,” Idowu said. The traditional head of the area, Martins Adebowale, said that the area had been witnessing an upsurge in population since the inception of the trade fair market in 2007. “The area plays host to fun seekers during the festive period, especially those that want to enjoy the waterfront resorts located in the area. “The upsurge has led to more pressure on the available facilities in the area,” he said According to him, the state and the local council earn revenue from the place through the dredging of sand from the place. He said it was regrettable that the authorities allowed the place to rot without corresponding infrastructure. He called on the state government to assist the area since it was still part of the state. News from Gistmore - http://gistmore.com/flood-destroys-lone-link-bridge-to-lagos-community Cc; Lalasticlala
