If this is true you took a deadly risk then. I was thinking it happened in Abuja for it has a good, smooth and wide road.

Or is there another Lagos/Ibadan road aside the one I know?

Lol its the same road bro, the roads are under construction and i did it with the ones completed, i know its a risk but a calculated risk cool
Politics / PDP Defectors Should Not Expect Automatic Appointment In My Govt - Buhari by heryyy(m): 2:28pm On Apr 12, 2015
Addressing newsmen after casting his vote at his polling unit in Daura Katsina state yesterday April 11th, President-elect Gen Buhari is quoted as saying by Tribune that PDP defectors should not expect automatic appointment as ministers in his government.

"I have no fears of PDP defectors. The people who are defecting will only have influence in their constituencies. Since their constituencies are now controlled by the APC, their influence is, therefore, limited. I hope the people that are defecting will accept the fact that they are joining the people who succeeded. So, I don’t think they will just come and say they want to be ministers next month, simply because they were ministers before.” he said

perfect!
Ibadan to ife after ikire is not too good, consider reducing ur speed n careful around dere, BT from ife to Akure smooth.
dere r sum spots btwn Akure and owo (pot holes)
betwn owo and akoko Syd... d roads r not too good n sum dangerous bends.
okene to lokoja till u get to abuja....u need sharp mental alertness.... diz is not a question of weda u speed or not,
safe journey bro.

Thank you, really appreciate... smiley

Hello Nairalanders,

I am planing to take a road trip from Lagos to Abuja this week, from research on google map i see there are 2 routes, Ibadan / Akure and Sagamu / Benin Road, I am relying on my Navigator to guide me through as i have never make the trip before, i am not taking a public bus, i plan to drive my own car.

I need your advice which route is the best to take, i need help from people who drive to Abuja on a weekly or monthly basis. Places to look out for, bad roads, dangerous routes etc will be very helpful

Please help !

The steering feel is lighter in modern cars. The weighty feel of the steering does not mean a car is safer nor does it mean the car is more 'balanced'. Hate jap cars all you want but remember that princess Diana died in a Mercedes benz.

Bro i don't agree, ever drove any of the Toyota Avalon starting from 01 and above ? Balancing is great !

Siena:
By today's standards, 225 km/h (141 mph) is NOT exactly fast. A medium-size family sedan / hatchback with a 1.6 DOHC 16V engine, making 130hp will easily reach 130mph, and will cruise at 100mph all day long.

I mentioned 130mph allowing for speedo error margin as I mentioned in my previous post. That car would actually be running at 117mph.

Too much knowledge for Mr Siena, i salute u sir grin

As much as i want Buhari to win. One thing is certain which ever party wins will be in power for another 10years atleast, if APC wins this election PDP will struggle to gain power again for a very long time & if PDP wins APC will be dead in water cos next PDP election they will bring a viable candidate from the north to contest come 2019 and Buhari wont be contesting anymore, APC will struggle to find a better replacement, this is APC's last chance
Travel / Re: My Experience At US Embassy In Lagos Today by heryyy(m): 12:58pm On Mar 26, 2015
The same thing happened to me at first my first interview date was cancel due to there network and they re schedule me for another 3weeks, which was about a month ago.... almost identical question as the OP, here is my own version

Embassy: What are you going to do in the US

Me: I'm going for a 2 weeks holiday in Manhattan, New York

Embassy: Do you have any relatives in the US ?

Me: NO

Embassy: Where will you stay during your visit ?

Me: I have booked a 2 weeks confirmed / fully paid accommodation at so so hotel in Manhattan

Embassy: What do you do in Nigeria

Me: I work for so so Logistics Company as Senior Administrative Officer

Embassy: How much do you earn

Me: I earn 230k Per Month

Embassy: Are you married ?

Me: Yes i am married with 2 beautiful kids

Embassy: Scroll through my passports (I have 2 passports attached together one expired and the new passport was issued in London) and asked which countries i have been to

Me: I have been to Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia and the UK (UK was a 4yrs student visa)

Embassy: I see you didn't make use of your Cambodia Visa, What happened ?

Me: I was going with a friend, we couldn't book the same flight so he went before me, i was to meet him 2 days after, he got there and 2nd day he was robbed, he called me to inform me its not safe so i cancel my ticket and didn't bother to visit the country.

Embassy: How long have you been working for your company

Me: 2yrs

Then she typed and typed then print out the almighty refusal letter and said i can reapply if i want

Now i think i understand why she refused me reading from experience people here

I think my answer was too straight forward and i applied alone leaving my wife and kids behind

Also at the time my bank statement balance was around 3Million Naira which ofcus she didnt bother to ask, meanwhile i have other business that fetch me money which i should have mentioned when she asked how much i earn

Do anyone believe i stand a chance if i reapply and correct the error i highlighted ?

Thanks.
