Education / Re: JAMB PCE Fallout: Youths Showing Dwindling Interest in Polytechnics by holyghost(m): 4:03am On Oct 16, 2005
tell me who will chose a training program that is limiting in benefits? and i will show you a desperate person.

Govt. should give the polytechnics equal opportunity as they did give the universities. if they think that poly is not that important they can scrap it or increase the year to six years to march university equivalent.

it has be so because everybody wants to prove his worth in life. so how will one want to embark on what will make them inferior before others (after all we all went to the same secondary school or college and probably you were better then some that got UME. only the almighty Jamb is now making you lower

if you can recall during our secondary sch. days class A, B, C are regarded as the best classes and we all wished we were there but we took solace that the fact remains we are getting the same treatment and certificate after six years.

so if they want to see improved enrollment into poly they should give it a befitting benefits equal to universities even if it means
increasing the course content and year of complition or revise the trend and university will suffer similar fate( after all most Igbos now prefare trade to sch. since capital makes the man in Nigeria use what i mean by limiting benefits) after all Governors that are doctorate holders relays on semi illiterates as god fathers (Na so we dey see am for Nijaa!!)

Car Talk / Re: Getting a Driver's License in Nigeria by holyghost(m): 3:09am On Oct 16, 2005
@pitos tell the truth as it is
they all said it as it is and if the authority concerned do not want it. They should sit up and the trend will revise for the better,
@vexxy in fact its better you don't waset your money just keep Clean =N=20 note by you car, cos if you show you License, the police will ask Is that what my wife will use in cooking my food? but if you flash the cash, they will shout all cheeked and correct, madam carry go. even if blood is driping from your car hood.

yes when you want to obey the law in Nigeria you surffer shame, so do it the Nigerian way and move on after all what will be will be.

study real hard for GCE or Jamb go to the Centers you will see imbeciles and nincompoops, carrying expo and bribing their ways with 1000 naira and they come out with high scores and get the best Schools and join their types in cultism while you are still buying forms every other year to face the same thing.. worst of it .. if any action to stop them, it is done in a hurry which now affect you too. guess what... yes your are right the authority Just ban the center and withheld all result (instead of calling those with high score to come and re-write a fresh exams.

another area that bits me is the NPA (Nigerian Port Authority) importers are losing everything the have due to their(costoms) incompetence. they keep changing the rule every now and then size at random,
now look at this

Mr A took a loan from bank C to import at a high interest rate only for the goods to arrive 3 to 6month later and it will take our costoms 3-12 months to clear this shipment that is if they don't seize it due to one flimsy rule or document demand, eventually you bribe your goods out only to see that parts are missing due to what they call port rats(human looters)
now tell me how do you sell the remain scrap, so it is now and pay the bank loan and interest? boy you are in hot soup!!!
the bank will just sell your collateral and your gone to square zero if not dead.

Politics / Is Nigeria Worth Dying For? by holyghost(m): 2:04am On Oct 16, 2005
Is Nigeria Worth Dying For? Give Your Reasons

in a country where leaders have become virtual enemies,
our future has been mortgaged to foreign shareholders and their likes
while they ask us to pray harder for God has a listening ears.

our youths are used as toughs during election sorry arranged selection process by paddy paddy families since 1960 to keep there birthright I suppose. shagari son now enjoy huge budget allocation in the name of water resources, day by day thing turn from bad to worst yet they say they should be giving leaders for life.

where is the hope for a good leader that we pray for?
my brother, my sister and Nigerians can you stake you precious life for Nigeria the giant of Africa now?
Nairaland / General / Re: Are Some Nairaland Rules Too Strict? by holyghost(m): 1:30am On Oct 16, 2005
do i agree that rules make a game, put if it is too hard to keep to rules a game become boring. tho am not holding brief for any body, but mind you no matter how well we may write people will still read wrongly too and the post or reply out of context or content some even experiencing dyslexia even me

so i suggest:

1 moderator should advice posters to correct there post or cancel it by sending them email, also ask readers to ask any poster and any replier to explain any word, phrase or clause not understood by them (remember no hold barred) but don't lose your senses with your massage(s)

2 no fowl words(A must... unless if one won't help it to make clear his post or reply)

3 members should try to write out clearly and rightly too (but not under must, let alone attracting punishments, cos we are all leaning too.) instead call the person to order from time to time( mine you rule were made to be broking including the ten Commandments ) yet there is forgiveness so that MAN may learn and mature into higher realm of consciousness.

4. if any mis-understanding should arise between members. those involved should mail each other and resolve it, if it fails. then they mail the moderator who brings to the issue to forum with pseudo names and similar/ related problem(s) for views and verdict, which those involved should not post or reply this issue nor expose the real ID of those involved to the forum, but could read only our views on the issue

5 members and Guest should be made to understand that they are to conduct themselves as adults or better still as a rational animals while on-line. this is a public domain, one need not be too everything ( strict, personal, emotional, holy and spiritual, fanatic, stubborn, honest, primitive civilized to be educated or neutral) just do all in moderation and civility to bring development and understanding.

i will be back again.

Religion / Re: If Your Mum Is Practising Witchcraft On You by holyghost(m): 10:05pm On Oct 15, 2005
again there are fathers, sisters uncles, stepmothers brothers even friends who bewitch but I cosed mothers because of their position to all of us we all have mothers but some of us have know fathers (after all ashawos do have baby)

mothers again was the right choice cos we all have the strongest trust on them
imagine how Julius Cesar felt when betrayed by close friend Brutus and Jesus by Judea's, Abacha by Diya these are mere friends of may be 30years of friendship compared to mother (life giver by nature)
Religion / Re: If Your Mum Is Practising Witchcraft On You by holyghost(m): 9:53pm On Oct 15, 2005
seun abeg it's not me. this thing happen in our society (Africa) mind you there are GOOD mothers(those that want to die and let their child to live) And BAD mother ( those who do abortion or born throw away or bewitch their child) so apply the contest right.

in fact why i raised this topic is to see the best way to handle this issue in our society to bring about safety to both mother and the child( cos it exist) and denial will not solve it. rather saying it out and find the best solution practice to it is the best approach
Religion / Re: If Your Mum Is Practising Witchcraft On You by holyghost(m): 6:54pm On Oct 15, 2005
Yes Goodguy, i have no such problem but i know people do have these problem in this our african setting

and again we also know it is not curable, some People use high spell or religious means or others run away which most atimes has no end nor solve the problem at hand, other may go physical to beat or kill etc.  just to ensure termination to it, so what is your take on it
Religion / If Your Mum Is Practising Witchcraft On You by holyghost(m): 8:23pm On Oct 14, 2005
What will you do if your mum is practising witchcraft on you? Life as we know in africa is always in the face of witchcraft. Now that your mum is the culprit what will you do since she can not be cured of this act?
Business / Are the Asian Tigers in Nigeria to Invest or to Invade? by holyghost(m): 3:55pm On Oct 14, 2005
Are China, India and other Asian Tigers in Nigeria to Invest or to Invade?

If you want to invest: you bring to creation what is lacking: e.g mega industries, modern transport system andstate of the act technologies.

But if you are to invade: you bring to creation compromised and complex measures: unskilled and cheap marketers to take up the few jobs we have, slave like camp as industries, and cheap or obsolete technologies/goods worst still the profit is moved out of the country under the guise of purchasing capital for raw material and equipment.

My people are we going for the second slavery? Or just let us know the merit and demerit of so call foreign investment/invasion

abi "our Leaders still dey follow follow"?... Fela (true prophet of our time)
