Adnan621:
Guys!!
I've read tru this North Cyprus posts and how u guys been dragging it on here.. The fact is its quite simple..Just have it in mind that u wana go there for your schooling and use it as a stepping stone to other better countries...you will see job( kinda hard to get tho) but its gona be on a full time basis..when I was there ,I had to leave cuz someone I trusted carted away with my tuition .the person paid for a semester for me...my brother told me to stay over but I told him hell nope...I came back to Nigeria ,tho i was in for MSC in Biomedical engineering in Yakin dogu.,I.e near east uni...but fortunately for me I got back to nija,it was a hard decision that got my friends cried and all that I was leaving them...I told them I finished with a good grade in Nigeria, I had it in mind that i was gona get a good job and Glory be to Almighty ,I now work with The Nigerian space Agency ( Alhamdulillah). Now I can tell u with all the grace of God ,there is no where on this planet that I can not sponsor myself to... Some would say I'm lying, but back then i was staying at Gonyeli 15,domanli sokak Nicosia ,from my balcony I watch the Cypriot army training every morning.... I got a job at a filling station ,the white man was like I would have to sign a five year deal .I asked him why ? He said cuz it will take him a lot to process my work permit at virgi dairesi (immigration office) ..I told him hell nope .I rather go back to my country ,I am here for study not for slave..I left him...I can give u my name on fbk and my guys we stay with back then ,one of them is in Poland now married to a polish woman ,one is in France now,one is in Greece now...jerry is back home in nija and jack and Daniel are still out there....life is not what u think in north Cyprus.. I'm even planning to go on a visit but I can still tell u,ergan airport where u will land is not bigger than Ilorin airport (ahaahhahahahah) the cold makes u look fresh....but my best advice for u...if u wana go to Cyprus, then find your way to the south Cyprus that belongs to the Greek part (shengen part) that's a hint for you....I'm not an agent ooooo......but if u want more clarifications then add me on whatsapp.. 08096603806...and please to you guys is it that Mr Lukman is still at that Turkish embassy If anyone has his number can I have it pls ...let's chat on that number I dropped ...when I saw Nigerians trying to make a way in 2009, I spent my 4000usd upkeep trying to help them feed....moments I can't ever forget...think twice before u go to north Cyprus ..get your money and go to school and from there find your way to another country and mostly highest salary back then was 1200TL which is like 130,000 naira....our house rent is 500pounds,my house was owned by a British woman, light 53000 naira, water 11000 naira and note the water is not drinkable ooo....hmmmmn its the water from Mediterranean sea ooo fukin salty u drink it ....say goodbye to Hollywood. ( ahahahahahaha) just in a 4-Bedroom apartment.. Imagine this and we were 7one lady among us. Now the worse part was the day the woman noticed we were 7 she said she will report to police and that was how we begin to dodge in and out..no free movement. They don't tolerate that back then ,can't say for now ....if u don't go there with enough cash.... Hmmmmmmmn....you will work from morning till night in cold ooo...kudos to my guys .go and check them on Facebook ( myself Bello Azeez AL-Adnan, Ismail has,eki Dennis, odewumi temitayo, keye dahchu ,jerry Kataiko ,e.t.c.and now we thank God for where we are today ....please if anyone of u wants to hear more ,kindly buzz me on whatsapp.. Pls don't call me ..I ain't been proud its cuz am the busy type at work .I'm sure the stubborn types will still call...(ahahahahahahah) go ahead I'll pick it....and if anyone has lukman's phone number ...pls leme have it....God bless my people God bless Nigeria.

A First Class Nigeria student who I know so well although from a University of Education but studied Petrochemistry was rejected and just sent a mail. What do you think could have caused this? As in, CGPA 4.58/5.0

You write well. nice one Mr Turco smiley .
Turco:

Well, it is a bit comprehensive question which is how's life generally in Turkey. It is definitely depends on how much money you're earning. Just like anywhere on the world. For a rich person it can be a dream life, living in Turkey. If you don't have job and have to get your unemployment salary it can be difficult unless you find a job. But overall, it is quite good to live in here if you compare other parts of the world. Of course in Nordic countries or very well developed countries like Germany or Canada life can be easier for people but it is reality that we're not in a bad situation. Only thing about Turkey is life can be expensive sometimes and it can be difficult to maintain living costs and we're a bit crowded, population is more than 70 millions.

If you're a citizen and qualified enough, there will be no problem to find a job here. Yes in the beginning they will pay you not enough money to buy a car or house but things get better and better while you're working. It is possible you may try to find job for months but I think it is the same everywhere for one with a degree. Minimum salary is 1300 Turkish Lira(TRY) which is equal to 450 US Dollars monthly. It is the salary for featureless jobs. An engineer who has no experience can earn around 2000 Turkish Lira(TRY) which is equal to 700 US Dollars but in the other hand if you're a experienced and qualified engineer you can earn around 10000-15000 Turkish Lira(TRY) which is equal to 3300-5500 US Dollars. But I heard some refugees or foreigners are working for less than minimum salary.

Social life is quite great If you know what you looking for. It is a free country where you can find whatever you find. If you like night-life there is everything for you. If you're person who likes quiet life there is also everything for you. Most cities ''sleep'' around 10pm at night but metropolitan cities like Istanbul, Ankara, Izmır or Antalya life never gets stop. There are numberless of cafes, restaurants etc in country. Entertainment sector is quite developed. But if you'll be in rural are I don't think you'll have many choices.

Police? Well, I think you asked this question because you're a foreigner and you wondered what you can encounter. I've spoke to police 2 times in my life. One was about my passport, I renewed it and other one when I had an traffic accident. They came to file my complaint and they were traffic police. Police work 7/24 and during daytime they patrol cities. You can contact them via 155 Police Emergency Line and they're very knowledgable about their job. As a normal citizen I don't think you'll see any of the special forces or riot police in your life if you don't involve in any protests. Apart from these as a foreigner I don't think you'll have any trouble if you are not in any ''bad'' business. They are very strict about it as I know and you may have real hard time. There is an African watch sell on the city square of where I live and he is there every single day. I am %100 sure that he has no work permit but I didn't see he had any problem. Maybe he had but I didn't see it, I am not sure about it. At the port of arrival, you'll see both Immigration officials and Police and they will ask you multiple questions and examine your documents. If you're just a tourist and don't look for immigration I don't think you'll have problem either.

Living conditions are quite good. Major heating source is natural power in all around country and you pay your bills monthly. All country has water and electricity lines and there is no problem about it. You pay your bills monthly either. Internet is quite fast and you can buy fiber-optic wireless internet. There are 3 main mobile phone operators and serving 4G. Cost for one pack of sliced bread at market is 3 Turkish Lira(TRY) which is equal to 1,2 US Dollars and 1 Turkish Lira which is equal to almost 0,40 US Dollars at bakery. I don't know what to write else about this subject. Maybe you can specify your question.

We're not a flat country and land is extremely expensive. So we don't live in houses here. We live in apartment buildings in flats. Rents are expensive. Condition of flat depends on how much money you can pay. In case of any problem about your flat you can contact your owner or municipality. All flats have to have their infrastructure so there is no problem about it. But conditions really showing changes from flat to flat. There are brand new flats and some 50 years old flats.

You can ask me more If you'd like to.

Hello Guys, So for those getting error response here is a solution.
I have been getting same error message. but I'm using a trick to login.
Step 1. Login by visiting Http://tbbs.turkiyeburslari.gov.tr , after loggin in, you'll get the error message. Smile*
Step 2. on the address bar, erase the current page address and replace with ( http://tbbs.turkiyeburslari.gov.tr/OBS/Application/MyApplication ) it will automatically log you into your application page. so look out for a blue icon, click it thats the summary page. if you're using Chrome browser click CTRL+P it will show the print page, under destination, click change, then click "save as PDF" then save. Thats all. Thank me lerra (08148435718) for further enquiries

Hello Guys. Below are some few advice from a friend in Turkey for the interview "Unfortunately i wasn't interviewed. But from experiences of those who have been there. you shouldn't expect questions base on theology (My department)
And when you're been ask political views basically pretend not to know what they saying.
They don't like people who seem eloquent or have activism stature
They would ask if you go to turkey, What are those things you dream to achieve.

Just tell them. You just want to focus on your field of studies and best you can be in it" that's the way he sent it

Hi, I lost my International Passport, I contacted the Embassy, they said my NIMC/ any means of ID is sufficient. We'll still have to go back for Visa. I've read something like that
TeflonMe:

From what I read from their site, 95,000 candidates applied from 127 countries worldwide after which 5, 000 scholars will be chosen so I don't know the number that were shortlisted for interview yet by the committee.

I don't know the number of Nigerians that applied and how many where called for interview. Let's keep our fingers crossed until we get to Abuja.

I don't just want to believe that after going to the embassy for interview that we will still go their again for visa interview.

If that would be the case then why did they ask us to come with our int'l passport?

Many questions begging for answers but till then let's keep hope alive.

Thank you peeps.
