World football governing body, FIFA said on Friday that it has increased the monetary prize of the competition by 12 per cent.

The increment is a significant uplift from the previous prize of $358m to $400m which will be shared by the 32 national countries that will compete at the tournament.

Russia will pay host to the 2018 World Cup which will run from Jun 14, 2018 – Jul 15, 2018.

The anti graft agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have recovered money worth 11 Million Naira from an Account Officer of a Pentecostal Church in Rivers State.

The money has been returned to the church and the EFCC in an accompanying statement urged Churches to keep a close eye on their Account Officers to prevent mismanagement of Church funds.
