Anyway, one thing to keep in mind is that the votes of the PDP delegates don't necessarily reflect the will of the people in the state.

Clinching the ticket will give GEJ a substantial boost in popularity and goodwill, though.

Wunna don come again o.

Wunna no wan agree say GEJ go be the president. Na so wunna talk say e no go win primaries.

Akhenaten:

I am a resident of Jos, the truth of the matter is that government at every level, hav decided to be insensitve n insincere to the plight of the christains in jos. the press also are not helpin atol. to be candid more than 150 peole mainly igbos hav lost their lives since last saturday dat the hausas lunched an unprovokd attack on an igbo business area close to their domain, that same day, they stopd a luxirous bus travln 4rm lagos to gombe via jos-bauchi road killn many of the christain passengers who are mainly igbos, this led to we the igbo youths retaliatin in some areas bt as usual the military guys are always used against the xtains, arrestin innocent xtains, THIS IS A FIRST HAND INFORMATION, FORGET THE GOV. MILITARY/POLICE LIES.

I went through your profile and discovered you just registered this week as a nairaland user which I also guess is second, maybe third ID.

Please stop spreading fake news. It will be of no help to our country.
150 Igbos? How, when ,where?

Have you been to Jos before or traveled in a luxury bus from Lagos to Gombe? If you did, you would have known better that majority of the travellers in this route are natives  of either Jos, Gombe, or Bauchi states.

Politics / Re: Pdp Wins In Delta State by IbroYaya: 7:00pm On Jan 07, 2011
Sky Blue:

Uduaghan is a rogue because he is PDP? What if Ogboru had won? Because he is opposition he is automatically innocent, incorruptible, and a victim and Uduaghan couldn't possibly have any support in the state, right? People need to start being a bit more consistent with their arguments. Considering all the noise you hear from Rivers State about the works Amaechi is doing, if there was to be an election tomorrow would it surprise you if Amaechi won? And yet Amaechi is PDP, so what does that tell you? Nigeria needs credible and strong opposition parties to keep politicians on their toes. Arguing that elections weren't free and fair based on the evidences of election rigging (not rumours) and general electoral malpractice is one thing, but assuming elections weren't free and fair simply because the person you would rather have won didn't is a tad childish. I would like the idea of voting for Ribadu during the presidential elections but I don't really know how serious he is I have not seen him campaigning as much as the others (I might be wrong). You can't keep blaming people for their choice when the list of viable alternatives aren't always appealing.

Please tell these people o.
I get irritated when I see childish argument all the time. Because PDP won, it means the elections was rigged.
These people keep making noise here without registering to cast there votes. PDP will keep winning as far as the opposition is not strong enough to withstand it. Never forget every party has good candidates and bad candidates and  in Nigeria, every party shares money.

I believe this election was victory for democracy because of the strength of the contenders. I personally would have loved Ogboru to win, but uduaghan actually had the major support because what he might have achieved.

Delta Rerun: Massive Turn-out but Minor Hitches

The rerun governorship election in Delta State is witnessing massive turn-out of voters all over the state, but there are reports of hitches in several places.

Accreditation started in most voting centres at 9am but the 12 noon cut-off was not feasible as a result of logistical problems.

The major hitch is the inability of voters to locate their names in the registers even though many of them claimed to have voted in the original election in 2007.

The chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega, is due to address the press at 2pm

Election was yet to be concluded you and sahara are already spreading propaganda.
No election can be 100% hitch free.

How sure is sahara reporters that those thugs are PDP? Any Party can use thugs, so dont be decieved.

And which part of kano state is Atiku hoping to win?

He thinks the north prefers him?  He must be joking

I smell frustration in Atiku. How dare him insult the southerners like that. He doesnt need the votes?

He thinks he can talk, now he will be silenced for good because of his foolish statement.

All these political bu ha ha will stop IF GEJ wins.
What does Atiku know about the Economy. After running down ADAMAWA economy through Boni Haruna, now he wants to Advice.

Atiku should just shut up. He cant achieve half of what GEJ has achieved in this challenging time.  All those critiziing GEJ are just shallow minded.

They keep talking as if Nigeria is one hamlet with no complexities and sentiments attached to every issue.  Any move GEJ makes they attach it to failure. Atiku is going no where. We know his game plan. GEJ is on the right track period!

Nigerians Sef, I tire o!!

How big is N45 billion for Twelve universities?

How can we get better education, when a university in UK spent 8 million Pounds (About N2billion) to upgrade just its dental academy, not even medical school. Yet this school is not among the first 70 in UK and not among the first 500 in the world according to Shanghai university ranking.

People are here complaining that N45billion given to 12 university with more than 8 Faculties each is too much . What we should be talking about is accountability not the amount of money. If we want our educational system to be good, we should encourage government to put spend more money to upgrade our educational system. Parastatals (Parasites grin) like NASS and CBN are gulping 150 and 300 billion respectively we are here complaining of ordinary 45billion for education.
I beg carry go GEJ, pump in more money to education and put responsible people to manage it.
God bless Nigeria

Beaf:

I don't care if they make daimonds at the CBN. All govt agencies must give account, there is no reason for any other option.
Now we know the NASS members just seat and absorb 25% of recurrent expenditure, there is no reason not to find the truth about the CBN's position like some here are arguing.

Let us demand to know where every single kobo is going and why. cool
I agree with you well. Let CBN also make known there recurrent expenditure. It doesnt matter what they use the money for, let us know the percentage of then nations wealth they are using period!!!

150=25%
300=50%
450=75%
Simple mathematics!! grin grin grin

Haba! Dont underestimate any state. Adamawa is a nice place to be.

It is connected to any where around Nigeria by bus transport. (young shall grow, ekwos etc)
Arik air and chanchangi are IRS are flights that normally go there.

All the networks are working excellent there, so dont doubt whether ur blackberry will work.

The fastest internet connection for now is etilsat, bt its more expensive.

Job prospect is just like anywhere in Nigeria, but a alot of opportunity for business.

I bet, you will have a great stay there.
