Celebrities / A Whole King Sunny Ade Owing Salaries For 5 Months Yet Sacked Staff For Asking F by Ifedun2003(f): 10:33pm On May 03, 2018
The popular King of Juju music, King Sunny Ade in 2016 started his own radio station name Music and Culture 106.5 FM transmitting from Ondo town. However, the radio station is concurrently run with Ambassador Yemi Faronbi, Engr. Olugbodi and Mr. Clement Ige as the members of the board of directors. Everyone will think with these caliber of people at the helm of affairs,the workers of the station will be enjoying good working atmosphere but No, the only thing they enjoy is continuous debts cos their salaries are not regular. As at now, they are being owed salaries from December last year till now. On the 13th of April, the workers embarked on a strike, after many peaceful dialogues have proved abortive with the Chairman personally, and the board members at large. They were still on the strike and was hoping things will go back to normal when on Saturday, 14th April, Mr. Ige Clement, the Executive Director of the radio station came and locked up the whole station and left with the keys. Only to return with other board members on Tuesday, 17th April with armed men all over the station. He started calling members of staff one by one with a threat that they either come back to work or loose their jobs. Some of the staffs who are cowards betrayed others and went back to work. The ones who they couldn't get through to or who wanted their money before resuming back were dismissed with immediate effect without been given a dime neither plans on how to get their money. It's been more than 2 weeks now and there's still no news about their money or how it will be paid to them. King Sunny Ade has been seen in the premises with these other board members since this incidence and yet, nothing has been done about payment of these people's money. These are people we refer and think they are Men of dignity in the society but they trample on the right of a common man who's worked for them. The affected staffs are;
Mr. Omotayo Adekojo
Mr. Joseph Oluwaseun who were both dismissed unlawfully
Mr. Jide Ogunluyi
Mr. Oladosu Monsuru who were both suspended indefinitely.
All actions were taken without pay or any hope of when payment will be made. Help us beg King Sunny Ade and his board members to pay us our salaries. We are not beggers, we've worked for our money and we deserve to be paid for it.
Career / Workers Sacked For Embarking On Strike Due To Unpaid Salaries by Ifedun2003(f): 8:27pm On Apr 24, 2018
It was a shocking news on Tuesday, 17th April 2018 when some members of staff of Music and Culture F.M in Ondo Town were sacked because they embarked on strike to ask for their 4 months outstanding salaries. The most painful part of it is that, they were sacked without pay nor plans of being paid. The board representative of the company in Ondo had been contacted and it is obvious that it was a deliberate act of wickedness on the common Man. This same board members went ahead and paid some of their staffs peanut so they can continue working under harsh conditions, suspended some others and sacked some others. The people affected are Nigerian youths, the same our Dear President named as being 'lazy'. I found out that the reason for this grave wickedness is because, they know after being owed since December last year, they must have no penny to file any suit against them. Isn't it frustrating enough in Nigeria? I call on well meaning youths, activists and lawyers to kindly rise up to fight against this great injustice.
