Travel / Re: Canada, What's The Story? by igbonla(m): 12:45am On Jan 21, 2010
WAVixen:

Thank you all for the info, Is it the 'aduro' system that runs there like the Republic of Ireland? The child will have the citizenship, what of the parent, does it in anyway entitle you to residency? Getting the visa to Cananda is quite difficult, how does one get into Canada? I know these are more questions, but its said that information is power. Pls inform, or if there is any other Country out there that will issue citizenship to child it will be most helpful.

Whatever you do, make sure it is legit otherwise you will be running for the rest of your life. Things are tighter these days, every country is closing up more than ever even though it is still a global village. It will be easy if you have something to offer, nobody wants liability.

All the best and hope you make the right decisions in the coming days!

poosy_faka:

part two. sorry for being so long.

when you have your cdl and a secure job, you will have many options with the transportation company:

1- over the road: this means that they will send all over the usa fro at least 6 weeks.picking and delivering loads.
advantages of this: you get to live in the truck;saving you money as you wont have to pay rent and other bills that kill us in this country. you can save money like crazy.
dangers: you are always tempted to pick a hooker (love-peddler); which can coast you alot if the police catches u. also you dont get to see friends and family that much.

2-regional: this means, you are home every weekend but monday morning you are off the road in your region.a region can be 4 -8states that you serve.pick up and drop

3-daily: you can work for a local company.you are home every day.work 8-11 hrs a day. most start their pay at 17.00hrs per hour.

the two first options are paid per mileage.so you make more money but litterally live in the truck.
i have a friend from cameroon who did this for 2 years. it was hard but after 2 years he bought his own truck, paid for his wife and kids to join him and he lives good.thats how i know much about this carreer

sorry for posting long stuff .

Definitely one of the best responses on NL; thanks for educating the poster.

Travel / Re: Arik Air - Passenger Reviews! by igbonla(m): 9:45pm On Jan 17, 2010
lanre2u:

I know Arik has good and new aircrafts, but i hate their customer relation especially their ticketing and reservation services. Arik is also known for flight delay, 6:20pm flight leaving lagos at 8:30pm.

I can't count the number of times they have being on this flight delay, due to operational reason, due to bad weather when others are flying same route.

Bad inflight service, bread and juice!

I have promise my self not to fly Arik again, Tufiakwa.

Those people are on deminishing return curve.

May I recommend to you, sir, that you try Chachangi airline on your next trip.

You will get more than submission! A bottle on the head is also a probability, especially if the inventory runs low grin grin

That you have not been introduced to any of his family member is not a good sign except if he is far located from where they are! Even at that, it should not be too much to sacrifice a a couple of days to make things right. And you have been together for one and half years, doing what then
One of the earliest signs of commitment by a guy is getting his girl over to his family for proper checking out. Hope am wrong but I am not convinced about his intentions.
I would actually recommend a deadline in addition to pulling back from him. I would say you are focused, not desperate; don't allow any man to derail you.

All the best.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Davidylan Challenges Motivation & Usefulness of 'Relief Efforts' for Haiti by igbonla(m): 10:26pm On Jan 14, 2010
MrCrackles:

This is really simple. . . .
The thread is sending out a strong and urgent message about helping Haitians. . .
If you want to help, do so. . . .
If you dont want to, spunk off. . . .
And if anyone decides to help, why chat mumbo jumbos to rubbish thier efforts?
If you dont want to, no one has threatened to bomb you into extinction, so what is the fuss all about
Can we just stop turning the thread into something else. . .
If you have issues about whether aid or relief efforts is right or wrong, bloody open a new thread!!!!
YA BLOODCLOTS!!! angry

I realy app your concern, and am able to get a basis i.e trainin, but i think i wuld b going into layers for a stat,so wt do u tink d capital wuld b for a low level poultry.

Let me be hard on you a lil bit, you don't seem to want to work. A lazy person can't run a poultry in Naija especially!

Let me now make you a deal, I will provide you with 50 day old chicks and 1 month supply of chick feed IF you can work out the details of what you need to nurture the 50 birds till point of lay. You MUST provide the details with no ambiguity, I have the experience to tell if your figures are correct or not.

Over to you!

You need to make up your mind what you really want to do! Pimping, work with your Industrial chemistry degree or are you combining both? You need to know and plan well, focus is important especially when you are starting out.

Business / Re: How Can I Start A Small Scale 20 To 50 Birds Poultry Business? by igbonla(m): 12:17am On Jan 10, 2010
20 to 50 birds is no big deal; you need to go visit a farm to learn what you require and how to manage it. It's the practical you need and you can't learn that on the web.
Is this broiler or layer birds you are talking about? You need to go do attachment somewhere!

tpia.:

it would be easier if people just stripped n.aked before boarding a plane. It would make checking in more convenient for the checkers.

Once in the plane, they could be issued new clothes by the flight crew. Or just wear bikinis and briefs/boxers.  The plane temperature should be adjusted to suit the weather.

Ingenious! So we all go in nikid?

Stay away from that business for your own good, find something else to do. The profit in that business, if any, is not enough to justify the efforts, except if you are bringing a new dimension to the biz.

Business / Re: UPS Courier: My Frustrating Disappointment by igbonla(m): 8:24pm On Dec 01, 2009
Naija UPS office is not a true UPS branch just an agency, somebody linked up with them abroad, registered with them to represent them here and the rest is history. I am not saying they are not liable, just that I can never trust them to the point of doing business with them.
It's naija, your brother or whoever could even get beaten for doing to much gragra, olboy, e no easy to survive for this jungle!

All the best.

Location - Anywhere that's being developed already. Doesnt have to be central.

Budget - up to N300K (at least a plot).

Will be in Nig. in Dec. and will like to view.

N300K for Lagos or Abuja plot You need to change your expectations and plan appropriately. Maybe Ikorodu or Mowe, your budget is not good enough to put you in Lagos.

All the best.
