The Federal Government of Nigeria has finalized arrangements for the commencement of West African Senior School Examination hosted by WAEC - The West African Examination council as schools resumes.
The WAEC Examination according to the Federal Government will commence August 17th.

The Federal Government also revealed that Secondary schools in the country will reopen on August 4, 2020 for pupils in exit classes to sit for their examination.

The government said students will have two weeks to prepare for the West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination organised by the West Africa Examination Council.

WAEC exams, the government said will commence on 17th of August, 2020.

Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari will depart the Capital City of Nigeria, Abuja for Bamako, Mali to meet other African Leaders as regards to the lingering Political crisis.

Media Aide to the President, Femi Adesina Made the disclosure in a Press Statement he released which reads:

President Muhammadu Buhari will Thursday depart for Bamako, Republic of Mali on a one-day visit, following the briefing by the ECOWAS Special Envoy to the country, former President Goodluck Jonathan.

The Nigerian President and some ECOWAS leaders led by the Chairman of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the sub-regional organisation, President Issoufou Mahamadou of Niger Republic, agreed to meet in Mali to engage in further consultations towards finding a political solution to the crisis in the country.


Host President, Ibrahim Boubacar Keita and Presidents Machy Sall of Senegal, Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana and Alassane Ouattara of Cote d'Ivoire are expected to participate in the Bamako meeting.


Former President Jonathan was at the State House in company of President of ECOWAS Commission, Mr Jean-Claude Kassi Brou, on Tuesday to brief President Buhari on the unfolding situation in Mali, necessitating the visit of ECOWAS leaders to consolidate on the agreements reached by various parties.

The Residence of Joy Nunieh, former acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has been besieged by the men of the Nigeria Police.

The security agents arrived at the home, 3, Owuru Creek view, off Herbert Macaulay Street, Old GRA, Port Harcourt, early morning.

Nunieh was due to appear before a Senate panel in Abuja, today.

The upper chamber is investigating the alleged misuse of N40billion NDDC funds.

The Nigerian Presidency has released the embattled chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu from detention.

Ibrahim Magu until suspension by Muhammadu Buhari was the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime commission.

Mr Magu was released on Wednesday evening.

He was arrested last week Monday and has been detained by the police since then. He has been appearing before a presidential panel investigating allegations of corruption and insubordination levelled against him by Abubakar Malami, Nigeria’s justice minister.

Sani Omolori, clerk of the National Assembly has been sacked among others.

The National Assembly Service Commission has approved his retirement and that of the Secretary including 148 others.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Executive Chairman of the commission, Ahmed Amshi, on Tuesday.

According to the commission, those who have attained the age of 60 or 35 years in service are affected by the directive.

Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra has ardently reiterated that Muhammadu Buhari hates Igbos.

The Biafra leader was reacting to President Muhammadu Buhari special adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina that the President has nothing against the people of Biafra.

The Governor of Rivers State Barr. Nyesom Wike has blasted the Nigeria Presidency led by Muhammadu Buhari over the letter of appreciation he sent to the President and has been misinterpreted.

The Governor Reacting to the letter through his Commissioner for Information and communication Paulius Nsirim, faulted the misconstrue by  Muhammadu Buhari's Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina on his article WIKE VINDICATES BUHARIST.

Femi Adesina on his piece reveale why Muhammadu Buhari refused to punish Nyesom Wike and Former Governor Of Ekiti state Ayodele Fayose.

In swift response Ayodele Fayose has also blasted Femi Adesina saying that the Presidency is Deaf and and Dumb.

Several comments, interpretations, narratives and theories have greeted the recent letter written by Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike of Rivers State to President Muhammadu Buhari, expressing the sincere appreciation of the Rivers State Government and people to Mr. President, for approving the sum of N78.9 billion to the state, as refund of monies expended by the State on federal projects in the state.

Most of these responses have either been mischievous, absurd, totally misleading and some even trying to conjure and configure fabulist narratives, celebrating the mystique and magical influence of the power of money on the human psyche.

But the most remarkable of these is the one written by Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, titled: WIKE VINDICATES BUHARISTS.

To be sure, Femi Adesina's opinion on any topic immediately attracts considerable attention and commands tremendous weight, not just for the fact that he has been a seasoned journalist over the years, but indeed in recognition of his status as the Special Adviser to Mr. President Buhari on Media and Publicity; which makes him one of the recognized spokespersons of our President, whose views unequivocally represents the opinion of the Presidency in all matters.

It is therefore, in due cognizance of this latter responsibility and authority of his portfolio, that one must appreciate and commend Femi Adesina for his endorsement of Governor Nyesom Wike's decision to thank President Buhari for approving the refund of N78.9 billion to Rivers State, and also the quite remarkable request for the President to oblige Rivers State with a State visit.

Of course, Femi Adesina's admiration of Governor Nyesom Wike and his bold Thank You letter are embedded copiously in his article, though couched in the unerring profiling of the Rivers Governor in some lyrical passages and in some truculent, pro-Buhari obsessiveness in others.

The point needs to be made unambiguously, that the Rivers State Government, by way of emphasizing what Governor Wike rightly stated in the letter, appreciates the magnanimity of President Buhari,with profound gratitude and deep sincerity.

It was Aesop, the legendary Greek fabulist and writer of fables, who said that "Gratitude is the sign of noble souls." There is certainly no doubt that one man who stands tall and proud, courageous and fearless with great nobility in today's political space, is definitely Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.

For instance, what Femi Adesina describes as "crying wolf" and "pontificating" is nothing more than the ability to say and do things which other people are too frightened or lily livered to say or do; what we refer to in Nigeria as "dying in silence. "

What Mr. Adesina surely knows is that one virtue that Governor Wike possesses is courage. He has never hesitated to call anybody out including the President, his own party members and even multi-nationals operating in Rivers State, whenever the need arises and Adesina himself, has already agreed, by confessing to responding to some of these wolf cries in his write up, that these calls were necessary at the time they were made.

If Governor Wike's courage to speak up when others are silent and cowering in fear, leads to the approval of the refund of the N78.9 billion which the Federal Government owes Rivers State, then the expression of gratitude that recognizes and appreciates such appropriate magnanimity is the highest form of nobility.

Like Mr. Femi Adesina rightly pointed out in his essay, the Federal Executive Council (FEC), chaired by President Buhari, approved the REFUND of N148 billion to five states in the country for repair of Federal roads, for which Rivers State got N78.9 billion. But that is not even half the story.

As the silent crisis in the Presidential Villa lingers the Presidency has backed President Muhammadu Buhari’s Private Secretary and nephew, Yusuf Sabiu (aka Tunde), against Nigeria’s First Lady Aisha Buhari in the recent clash that occured at the Presidential Villa.

Meanwhile in another development President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the reorganisation of security apparatus at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said that Yusuf had a compelling reason to leave Abuja for Lagos.

Yusuf had broken the interstate travel restriction rule when he travelled to Lagos to see his family after his wife was delivered of a new baby.

The major revamp was consequent upon the shooting incident last Thursday.

The breach irked Buhari, perturbed everyone within the premises, as well as the heads of security parastatals.

“The president has ordered a major security shake-up within the villa. This is immediate and will affect a number of personnel.

“Signal has been sent to the hierarchy of affected agencies, so there will be noticeable changes in the next few days”, said the source.

AUTHENTIC NEWS GIANT reported the incident of gunshots at the Presidential Villa involving Aisha Buhari, members of her immediate family, her Aide-de-camp, Usman Shugaba and Sabiu Yusuf, a Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Trouble started after Yusuf’s return to the Presidential Villa and allegedly refused to quarantine for fourteen days.




In an attempt to force him into self-isolation, Aisha’s Aide-de-camp, Usman Shugaba, allegedly fired some gunshots, an incident that led to his arrests and other security aides at the scene.

The First Lady on Friday called on the Inspector-General of Police, IGP, to release her security aides from detention.

The Presidency on Sunday quoted President Buhari as insisting that the law must take its course on the matter.




Garba Shehu explained that people are allowed to travel interstate if they present a compelling reason before security agents.



“The Presidency has not failed. Don’t forget there is a caveat in that protocol. When travels are necessitated, they are permitted and even in the Villa, hardly do you have a day without somebody coming from their state whether they are governors and they come to do official business.

“Therefore, what is not permitted is frivolous and unwarranted travel. When it is warranted, the people can offer themselves at the checkpoints and once the explanations they give are convincing, they are allowed to proceed. I think this happens all over the country.

“We follow what the NCDC and Ministry of Health prescribe. The difference the Villa makes is that there is an eye on everyone,” he said.
