I have a question though.
Please
Will my Capital be paid at maturity into the account I provided on that Savings bond form? Or the one I provided when opening CSCS account?
It will be paid into the same account your coupon/interest is paid

Which kind DMO is this na.
I even contacted my broker and they said …
CSCS/DMO is yet to credit me account with the bond unit.
And they’re hoping it will be credited before the end of this week angry

You should be able to see previous subscriptions. That of July 2018 is yet to reflect.
When you login to your account, on the menu list click on "My Portfolio".
If you have account with different brokers with the same CHN, it will all be listed there.
Click on the account you used to subcribe and you will be able to view what is in that account.

@4601CE
If your application was successful, you should get a text message from the Debt Management Office. According to the offer, the settlement date is 11 July, so wait until then for your text.

It will not show on your cscs account until after the settlement date. You could pay the yearly cscs fee of 2,500 Naira to monitor your investment. It's worth doing so. Your stockbroker can also access your cscs account and send you a printout by email.

4601CE:
Thank you very much for your response .
I’m not sure I’ll be able to pay that CSCS fee grin. I will wait patiently for the text .
But you mentioned some investor login details your stockbroker sent to you or something like that on the Bond thread . Please tell me about it . Thanks

Kolping gave you the right answer. You get the notification after the settlement date. Sometimes it delays for some days.
Also, paying the annual fee to cscs to monitor your stock and bonds is worth it. Unless you are investing very little fund.

Some folks are probably in the 'NSE room' just to make money for brokers.
...People really need to understand the basics of price/volume swings and dynamics.
One of which is that its unwise to hurriedly exit a stock whose current day low is higher than its WAvg and Ref price, and its highest bid as at the time also higher than both its day low and Ref price. (presently playing out in 2 penny stocks)
...especially when its a fundamentally sound coy.

Thats why oftentimes there are regrets after exiting a coy.
No one is perfect, but people should learn to do better.
...otherwise u will only be making money for brokers.
...and those who have the basic idea will continue to benefit from ur psychosomatic behaviour.

Just a pivotal piece of advise.

I am one of those "making money for my broker". I am not complaining. At the end of the day, I make a very decent profit.
The bottom line is to stick with what works for you until you learn a better one.

It's my pleasure.even though interest rates do fluctuate, but by the end of the year, the yield would be based on an 'average' of all the fluctuations.
If you invest 10000 in MMF at 12.31 %, your interest after one year would be 123.1 naira, which is equivalent to 10.258 Naira every month.(excluding compounding)
Investment in the capital market only makes sense when your starting capital is on the 'high side'.
One good thing about the money market fund is that interests are compounded quarterly...

Sir/Ma,
Your calculation above is for N1,000 and not N10,000.
The interest based on the assumed rate will be N1,231 for one year.
Kindly recheck.

Ok. Thanks. I received my investor account details (dated 14 June) from my stockbroker but the June offer was not listed. I also haven't received the usual SMS confirmation from DMO.

@IHelp

Do you have any contact at DMO to confirm a purchase of FGNSB June offer?

I do not have any personal contact at DMO. They have some numbers on their website. Though I have not tried reaching them through that channel.
You can as well try registering with cscs. As you can confirm your bond/stock online through them.
When ever I need clarification I contact my broker or Cscs.
I am yet to get notification for the purchase of June Fgn savings bond but I have already confirmed it in my cscs account.

Q3 you meant sir.

Good news is for the first time since Q3'17, they'll be selling over 1trn worth of these bills. one may want to slow down on buying long tenors now.
ahiboilandgas:
why

I believe rates will soon go up like AwesomeJ stated. Fgn savings bond rate is higher than the last Tbill stop rate I saw. Meaning government wants to lock up the rate for longer term before the rates increase.

But I'm still a bit confused tho

How can I buy bonds from my stock brokering firm?

If you already have an account with a stock brokering firm, fill the Fgn savings bond subscription form and send to them. Make payment for the value you want to purchase.
Some firms use the same account for your stock and bonds while some have different account for bonds.
You should contact your broker for more info.

Someone kindly assist with possible reasons the rates are reducing steadily

Government is generating more money now as price of oil is increasing.
Government also got cheaper rate from the Euro bond and now need less local fund.

.....When you desperately need something you tend to pay higher unlike when you are not.

When u give a mandate for transaction and you are not notified within 48hrs via email, text message or any other means of communication you choosed, then request for letter of confirmation ASAP. 700m?? so tempting!

I think once you are enlightened about Tbills, such can hardly happen to you.
How was the fund pulled out from the account or was it cash transaction (which I doubt).
The debit account should reflect purpose of transaction.
Godakpan also gave a good suggestion above.
