Lol
Funny you!

Even with a billion dollar concocted debt, I would still opt for a Biafra than a miserable Nigeria of quota system & less educational states, where mediocrity is celebrated & merit jettisoned all in a bid to favour a perpetual backward North.

2. He meant to say something caught his attention or have an effect on him.

Lol

I must admit to be oblivious of whatever you must have meant by future tense. And that being the case, refrain from referring yourself as a writer until you can speak in present tense.

On Wole Soyinka's Interpreters. "He meant to state that the clangs of metal on concrete was having a severe effect on his already drunk head."
Now that's overly esoteric, of which Our WS is renowned for unlike Achebe who has rather oversimplified his use of language.

lol.......Am an avid reader bro and am writing my first book come August. Without reading the book you quoted I understand perfectly what wole soyinka is saying with that clause. It has nothing to do with dictionary. Think of Chinua Achebe he used ambiguous words. All the same, A writer ought to be simple.

OK good to hear and I wish you a successful publishing.

Now do two things for me here;

1. Post a page from your writings here. Let me have a look. Just a page; any page.

2. What was Soyinka saying in that first sentence of the Interpreters? [& pls that's a complete sentence, not a clause as it might have seemed to you]

Here it is again; "Metal on concrete jars my drink lobes."

The war was fought because you chose to be violent and also to take non Eboe territory. You cannot achieve Biafra by violence so leave that story. We all want yyou to go do not be deceived but it must be by due process . You will be allocated your share of the National debt which is quite substantial considering the damage you caused by your Biafra misadventure and then you can be on your merry way

Which debt? The ones your people incurred through corruption?

We owe your asses no dime.

Have you ever read Chinua Achebe?

Interpreter or translators?

What's your ideology of a writer?

Lol!

Interpreter is Wole Soyinka's only novel. And the first sentence in it goes thus; 'Metal on concrete jars my drink lobes.' Lol I am sure you can't even explain that with the help of a dictionary. Now that's what you call difficult writing language, not Achebe's over simplified English.

Pls don't refer to yourself as a writer. You're not even a book lover to start with. If ever you aspire to be a writer someday, start by being a book lover, an avid reader, that's the only way to becoming a writer.

And FYI on Achebe, he's the simplest user of language. He writes English like its spoken by Nigerians. And no other nigerian world class writer writes that simple, not even Okri or Chimamanda.

Have a good day ahead.

Simplicity is what most writers miss thereby limiting their readers. Like chinua Achebe now; you can't read a paragraph without a dictionary. We writers are supposed to be simple in words usage and avoid superfluous information especially in descriptive writings.

Lol

How can you say Achebe is to be read with dictionary?

What then would you say about Interpreter?

And to cap it all you refer to yourself as a writer?

Politics / Re: Why APC Cannot Impeach Ekweremadu - BLOTRS by illiad1(m): 11:42pm On Jun 17, 2015
What some don't understand is that pdp is playing chess on top of apc head.

The choice of ékweremmadu was not by chance but purposedly selected by pdp to put apc in a very tight corner. And that tight corner is south east.

Pdp know as we all do that south east people do not trust apc & apc needs to have a hold in the south east to be able to refer to itself as a national party rather than being a regional party, and going after ékweremmadu even though his dsp position has no known profit whatsoever for the SE people, yet an attempt to remove ékweremmadu would be seen as anti igbo and that would further alienate apc from south east thereby giving pdp an unchallenged political control in the south east and denying apc a national presence.

So take it or leave it, apc needs ékweremmadu in that chair more than pdp does.

So however you slice the bread, pdp is on a win win position. And the best apc can do, to its own benefit, is to swallow this particular defeat in order not to be dished more.

Now they have absolute power in the Senate....Oh wait that's right, your unimportant Deputy SP is merely a figure that serves his own selfish interests. But whatever, I personally couldnt care less about Politicians and their selfish ambitions BUT i do get quite pissed when i see delusional people flip flop all over the place about issues just to suit whatever hatred agenda they have for that day. Today theyre ranting about Biafra, next day the're ranting about Northerners controlling all tiers of Government, and the next day theyre back to boasting about having a DSP position. It just is so damn annoying.

And these is actually the same delusional ldiots that make it a habit to mock Osinbajo's position of VP and degrade him all over the place (Although we all know thats just part of their pathetic attempts to provoke Yorubas).

Don't allow frustration take away your sanity. You're not alone on the hardship train but allowing it to affect you mentally will leave you in lonesome corner of a mental institution.

It would be much more easier to remove saraki than Ekweremadu. As the removal of Ekweremadu would further alienate apc from the hearts of SE people. Not that they have anything to gain from him being the senate DSP but now that he is there apc is at lost if he is removed

Now it is the hopeless position of one hapless Ekweremadu. . Not to talk of his total neglect of Sabon gari kano as the governor and his endless confrontations with igbo traders there. Very polarising politician.

Bless you for this comment. If only we could do away with local militia completely. They are a source of public nuisance in the Nigerian society. Imagine FG paying MASSOB to protect our pipelines. GEJ made too many mistakes (including the subject of discussion). That man really didn't care about us. His attitude towards Boko Haram said it all. Why then do we have the army, navy and police; to sit in offices and collect salaries? Protecting our lives and properties is their main duty and our pipelines fall in this category. PMB, thank you. We need more changes like dis to bring sanity to our society.

And where did you bring MASSOB into your talk? Some of you have penchant for trouble, why?

They said Nigeria will burn, if Jonah losses. He lost nothing happened.

They said Nigeria will be in flame if PMB dares revoke the oil pipeline monitoring contracts. Now, the General has done and let us wait for the reaction of the bloody civilians daring him.

Do not forget, he has 5billion cool cash from US, to crush any threat, walking or dead.

I think its a good move

But I also think government should find a means of working with local vigilantes because in some situations they have a very useful role to play
