Business / 7 Mistakes To Avoid When Starting An Online Business by importexpert(m): 4:35pm On Feb 02, 2017
Like I have said in my previous posts, in the light of the economic situation of the country, it is important to begin an online business now. If you have decided to join other Nigerians in enjoying the fruits of online business, there are certain mistakes that you should avoid.

1. Learning voraciously:

This is a very important mistake that most people make. It is what you know that will give you continued relevance in the online world. You need to therefore read wide on the niche that you have picked and stay up to date about current trends in the industry. The more you learn about your niche, the more you will be able to solve the problems of your audience and meet their needs which will give them a reason to come back for more. Don’t just rely on copy and paste, research and present your information to your audience.

2. Build something better:

A lot of times, the inspiration to do something comes from another person who is already doing it. The irony is that, doing what someone is already doing will not give you success irrespective of the efforts you put into it. The ideal thing to do is to research on those who are doing what you are about to do. Search for the secrets of their success and the areas they are failing. Then build on it and produce something better.

3. Don’t switch niches:

Pick one niche and stick to it. When you try to create your business as a brand, people need to be able to associate it with one thing. YouTube is known for videos. Instagram is known for pictures. On our own local scene, Linda is known for gossip blog, ImportExpert is known for Affiliate marketing/mini importation etc. Pick a niche that you have interest in and then become extremely good at it.

4. Invest in a coach/Mentor:

Online business is more than what you see on threads. For instance, there is more to blogging than knowing how to write a post. Every online business has intricate aspects that you may need to learn. Do not be in a haste to rush into it. Seek a coach or mentor or get their materials. It will give you precise information that you need and save you time you may have wasted trying to figure out what went wrong.

5. Start and email list from day One:

It is important that you build an email list from the start of your business. An email list helps you maintain contact with your audience and keeps you visible in their minds. To make them want to give you their email addresses, you need to have constant good content and promise to keep them informed of new content as well as exclusive offers.

6. Dismissing negative feedback:

When you are starting out, you are obviously in high spirits and enthusiastic about the prospects before you. There is therefore the temptation to listen to your fans and ignore your critics because their feedback is crushing. It will however be wise if you learn from their criticisms and use it to build something better. Rather than take criticisms personal, use them as tools for improvement. As bill gate has popularly said, "your best customers are those that are not satisfied with your products because they show you where you can improve".

7. Waiting too long to start:

This is one of the reasons why many people delay their launch of an online business. They keep waiting for the perfect moment. The fact is, every moment is perfect if you will only look at it from the right perspective. No time will ever be perfect enough for all the lights to be green. Decide to start something and go ahead with that decision irrespective of the seeming odds.

Conclusively

As a wise man has popularly said, those who wait will get only what those who act have left behind. a popular babylonian proverb says, "The goddess of good luck goes to the men who refuse to sit and wait for it but hustle while they wait".

if you are serious about profiting from online businesses, i will show few lucky people the simple secret i used to make N121, 500 in a single day from affiliate marketing. see the secret at www.affiliatejagaban.com/p/jagaban.html

Hi, I asked you a question some days ago about using the name of the product you are promoting as your domain name, if it is necessary. You are yet to respond.

sorry for not getting a response. no you should not use the name of the product you are promoting except if you intend to promote only the product using the domain. you should get a general name that will cater for wide range of products. eg. premiumsolutions, expertsecrets, premiumcourses, ultimatesolutions.com etc.

I followed all these do's and dont's yet my site http//needleplus.com is still heading for d guttere. sad

bro your mindset of if you will fail you will fail will always guarantee you of failure. a wise man once said, if you think you can you can and if you think you cant you cant. if your site is going down think of what to do to revive it. always apply POWER in your business life. power is: prepare, organize, work, Evaluate and rethink. if you have performed the earlier stages, the last 2 are very important for you to do now.

Impatience is another key factor. So many business owners fail to be patient with their businesses, such that they start panicking even when clearly, the business is doing fairly okay.

Depending on the nature of the business, it may take a minimum of 1 year before one could be in a position to know the direction of the business

well said bro. further more, the international standard before business startups start realizing profit is a period of 3years. people just want to start profiting over night. although online businesses has a much shorter time to produce profit. many online businesses start producing profit within a period of 1 week.

According to Bloomberg, 8 out of 10 businesses fail within the first 18 months of operation. That’s a terrifying statistic if you’re a business owner. That simply implies that 80% of those who started blogging or any other online business will fail in it too.

Why do businesses fail? What can make your business fail? How can you avoid them?

1. Lack of Planning:

For many individuals, they desire to be engaged in a business just to make money or to be able to brag about it. They have no clear-cut idea where they want the business to go. They only plan to start a business but they do not do real planning on how to achieve it. Your plan is like your aim. Planning involves everything you need to do and put in place to get to your aim. If there is a plan without proper planning, it is only a matter of time before the plan comes crashing. The popular 6P formula states that: Proper Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance.

2. Lack of Discipline:

Having an online business can gift you with plenty of spare time and the liberty to work when you want. This same benefit can be a curse if you do not know where to draw the line. You need discipline to be able to work even when you don’t feel like working. You need to sustain your desire to work irrespective of whatever may be limiting you. A disciplined businessman with little capital will always outdo an undisciplined businessman with huge financial capability.

3. Lack of differentiation:

Many people often attempt to imitate others in their style of business. They think they can create success by imitating the top shots in their niche. It does not work that way. There can only be one Nairaland. There can only be one ImportExpert. There can only be one Linda Ikeji. Rather than copy them, pick the lessons and build your brand. If you imitate others, you will only remind your customers of the real thing. Build your brand. Be different. It is what will give you visibility. You can learn from different experts and be yourself.

4. Lack of capital:

This point can be seen either as lack of capital or refusal to invest capital. If your business would grow, you may need to spend some money. Sometimes, people want everything to come free, especially those in online business. Don’t be tight-fisted about your business. It does not just need your time and attention but your money. This is what will make your investment in the business complete.

5. Lack of focus:

Focus is a result-multiplier. Online business requires focus. The online world on its own can be very distracting. The thrills of the social media and multiple fora can easily divide your attention. You must always be conscious that even though you enjoy doing what you do, it is beyond fun; it is a business. You must therefore treat it as such. Be grounded in the purpose of the business and constantly choose to ignore every distraction. As jobs has always said: Focus is not just saying yes to what you have to do but focus is the ability to say no to those other thousand things that may come by while trying to do what you must do.

6. Lack of valuable content:

Content is everything. Content is what will keep people coming back to you. If they realize that there is something that you offer that they probably cannot get anywhere else, they will keep coming to you. Whatever the mode of your business may be, ensure the value is of a high standard. Create strategies to multiply the value that your audience can get from you and watch their loyalty become yours.

7. Lack of accurate knowledge:

Knowledge is everything in today’s world. One piece of knowledge at the right time is enough to take your business to a new height. Your continued relevance in your niche will be dependent on what you know that your competitors don’t. Always search for new information. Information will save you years of trial and error.

No one desires his business to crash at any time. It is wisdom to know what a business needs at the moment for its survival and success. Always be on the lookout for what your business needs at the moment to keep flourishing.

if you want to have a sustainable profitable online business, i will show few Nairalanders how i made N121, 500 from affiliate marketing in A single day. see it at www.affiliatejagaban.com/p/jagaban.html

lets have your take on this.
Romance / 7 Signs Your Girlfriend Is Taking Advantage Of You by importexpert(m): 6:35am On Feb 01, 2017
When a man loves a girl, he would want to go over mountains and seas for her. Some girls have discovered this and have positioned themselves to take full advantage of it. Sadly, most guys are not aware of this. It often takes another person to realize that the guy is being used. If you are in a relationship, here are seven ways of discovering this for yourself.

1. She does not take no for an answer:

If your girlfriend likes to have her way at all times, it is a sign that she is emotionally blackmailing you. She has studied you and come to realize that you love her. This is now her bargaining weapon. If you have an argument, she would do all she can for you to concede. If that fails, she will resort to tears because she knows it will break you.

2. She wants you to invest heavily in the relationship:

You may ask "What is wrong with it?" Nothing, if only she invests in the same measure. If you are the one always investing in a relationship and she rarely invests in the same manner, bro, she is just enjoying "dividends of a maga". The simple fact is, if someone loves you, there will be the natural instinct to give all she can. While there is need for reciprocation, true love does not try to get first, instead, it gives. no matter how little she gives within her capacity. it is better for her to take her little time to prepare nice eba and egusi soup for you than to go and buy it elsewhere.

3. She cancels plans with you repeatedly:

If she is fond of cancelling any plans that you both have made and does so with reckless abandon, watch it. No one who loves you will keep you hanging like that. "But she gives reasons why she couldn't make it", you say. Those reasons are excuses, and she gives you because you need something to comfort yourself with. The time and attention she is starving you of is what someone gets with ease.

4. She does not really care about you:

When a girl loves a guy, she wants to tell him everything that is happening with her and also wants to know what is happening with him. If your girlfriend does not show interest in knowing about what is going on with you that is a red flag. Rather than know about your progress with life, she occupies herself with telling you about her needs or family problems and needs, you really need to think twice.

5. You have a desire to gain her approval:

A woman's desire is what her man should have and not try to earn. If you feel the need to get her to like anything you do or approve of who you are, then you should be careful. If your girlfriend discovers this desire in you, she is supposed to help you address it by telling you she approves of you unconditionally. If she does not but instead feeds that desire, you are not her lover but her worker who is trying hard to earn her approval.

6. She uses sex as a bargaining chip:

It is up to the two of you to decide whether to abstain or have sex. The problem here is if she uses sex as a tool for negotiation. She knows most men will make a decision based on what lies between their legs rather than what is in their heart. If she deprives you of intimacy just to have her way, it is clear that she is trying to take advantage of you.

7. She makes you feel guilty:

Guilt is a powerful emotion that most people do not know how to cope with. Your girlfriend too may recognize this and try to use it for her own good. When she needs your presence, she will probably say something like, "I know you don't miss me anymore, that's why you don't hang out with me" or when she needs something, "I know you don't care about me and how I survive. Later you will say you love me". If your girl makes statements along these lines, she is trying to get you defensive and then do her bidding. It's simple reverse psychology!

If you discover you are in this category, it is best you break up with such a girl. Manipulation is a decision and not an accident. That girl is not your girlfriend but a manipulator cheesy cheesy.

Sir, those gnld marketers use deceptive means to lure people into joining their organization. So ask yourself? What do U expect from the people that eat and dine with lies just to be able to complete their monthly PV.

least I forget, U said U are experimenting with your two farms. So I will advice you to buy it coz experimenting is synonymous to researching.

thanks very much bro for chipping in. i know most of the things they say are marketing stuff but i will give them a try on a small piece of land. i have already gotten 200ml of their fertilizer. i just wanted to be sure that they are worth testing. i do not want to waste my precious time.

thanks very much boss seun. i could not find real testimonies about them. the only good things about them i found were them talking about themselves. they have been around since 2012 or so, if their claims were to be real, i feel testimonies should be everywhere now. but nevertheless, for the benefit of doubt i will experiment it on a small place.

hi everyone, i am experimenting tomatoes farming in 2 local government areas in kano. Bagwai and tudun wada. on each farm i will spend a million naira. i own the farms in both the 2 locations so the spending is mostly on fertilizer, labor, chemical spray and fueling of engine for watering the farms. i already have like 70 bags of fertilizer but i am hearing much about gnld super gro fertilizer.

please i want experienced farmers in the house to share their experience with using the gnld super gro fertizer. i have read much about it but i want to hear from your experiences. they claim that it increases yield by over 150% how true is such claim from your experience? my second question is they claim that each 5litre of super gro fertilizer is equivalent to 10bags of our normal chemical fertilizer, how true is this claim again? i am awaiting your responses.

I do not like your domain name ( affiliatejagaban ) I wish you could change it into something that fit into the product you are selling online. But your tutorial is quite educative and I must say I learnt some new things. But I am not going to buy the ebooks you are marketing because most of this materials are already available online. It is just a question of doing a cool google research especially for those of us that have all the time to spare. Have a great day friend!!

thanks very much for the observation. i will surely look in to it. i also use to believe that everything i will need about affiliate marketing is already on google. my first 2years in affiliate marketing earned me only 60usd. it was a cumulative sales of 20usd each. google is nothing but a time waster if what you need is decent cash. 2weeks after learning some secrets from an expert earned me my first 350usd from affiliate marketing. since then i have never stopped learning. the affiliate jagaban ebook is an accumulation of experts secrets and definite way to success in affiliate marketing.
