President Buhari has landed in Beijing, China for the 7th Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.

Buhari’s first engagement in the country will be an interactive session with the Nigerian Community in China at the Nigerian Embassy.

He is also expected to deliver his remarks as the current chairman of ECOWAS at the “High-level Dialogue between Chinese and African leaders, business representatives and African entrepreneurs.”

Adesua Etomi has been honored by the University she attended and her face has been plastered on the wall of the institution.

Sharing the news, the actress reflected on her time in the University of Wolverhampton and how she often worried about how to pay school fees while there. Today, she's being recognized by the same University.

Today, I'm grateful for my university education. I remember how my mum and I would sit and wonder how we'd pay my university fees every single year.

It's amazing how God took me from that, to being celebrated and painted on the wall by the same university that we could barely afford.

British Prime Minister Theresa May has arrived in Nigeria, as part of her visit to some African countries.

Shortly after her arrival on Wednesday, May proceeded to a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Issues to be discussed at the meeting include the security challenges in the country, economy, as well as the 2019 general elections among others.

Prior to the visit, the British PM was in South Africa where she decried the poverty rate in Africa and the activities of terrorist organisations.

She had also described Nigeria as “home to more poor people than any other nation in the world,” despite thriving as a country.

The Presidency had disclosed that President Buhari and May would sign vital defence and economic agreements involving Nigeria and the UK.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had also urged the British PM to visit other parts of the country to access the performance of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led Federal Government.

Popular Household of God Pastor, Chris Okotie has called on two of Nigeria’s leading political parties APC and PDP to adopt him as their presidential candidate.

The man of God spoke at a press conference in his church during the Sunday service today saying the dreams and aspirations of the people having been confined to oblivion and he believes that we must act now to defend the Nigerian dream as things have gone to a worse state.

He said that he has decided to return to politics seeing that Nigeria needs a credible personality one who is intellectually ready and capable. He added that the Nigerian constitution is obsolete and therefore desires to pursue a mandate that will set up a new government of reconciliation.

“In sincere consideration I humbly and sincerely ask that the APC adopt me as the presidential candidate. I have extended the same gesture to the APC too. This is the time to demonstrate our love for this country.” Pastor Chris Okotie said that this is not out of his will but that of the Lord.

Pastor Chris Okotie first came into politics in 2003 under the Justice Party(JP) where he contested for the position of the President but lost to Olusegun Obansanjo. He again vied for the same position in 2007 under the party he founded, Fresh Democratic Party (FRESH), but lost to Umaru Yar’Adua. Pastor Chris Okotie, not deterred again ran for the presidential seat in 2011 and lost to Goodluck Jonathan.
The cleric, who is the President of Fresh Democratic Party, on which platform he ran for the Presidency and lost in 2011, said his mandate this time round was to set up an interim government, which he had named “Government of National Reconciliation and Reconstruction,” that would birth a new Nigeria.

Popular Nigerian Musicians Yemi Alade and Tiwa Savage have not exactly been friends. The two songstresses are in competition for the crown of Queen of the industry and they have recently gone public with their animosity for each other.
Recall that Yemi Alade publicly claimed to be on the same level with Davido and Wizkid, stating that there is no such thing as number one artiste in Nigeria. She also passed up the chance to stand for Tiwa Savage while on a radio show and the presenter talked down at her rival. The presenter, Misi, stated that Yemi Alade has a fine vocal range while Tiwa Savage just shouts.

In reaction to the statement, Tiwa shared a video of herself singing. She also made suggestive posts that alluded to Misi begging from her. She also hinted that she has cut ties with the OAP and any other person who tries to involve her in “BS.”

The animosity between the two singers has now gravitated to the point that they unfollowed each other on Instagram.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the Ekiti gubernatorial election, Kayode Fayemi has cast his vote in Unit 9 ward 11 in Ogilolo, Isan- Ekiti polling unit.

He arrived at the polling unit at 10:16 a.m. with his wife, Erelu Bisi. The governorship candidate then voted at 10.23 a.m. but his wife could not immediately cast her vote as the card reader failed to recognise her PVC.

The PVC could not be read but the situation was later salvaged after several trials and she eventually cast her vote.

Fayemi in his reaction said the electoral process has been peaceful, especially in his unit.

“It was relatively smooth, except for a little hitch that they had with my wife’s voters card. But as far as Ogilolo unit in Isan Ekiti is concerned, it was a smooth process.”

Fayemi, however, noted that he had heard of delays and card readers malfunction in some parts of the state, but said generally, the reports showed that the election had been peaceful so far.

Barcelona have tabled a second bid – believed to be worth up to £53m – for Chelsea winger Willian, Sky Sports reports.

Last week, Sky Sports broke the news of Barcelona’s initial £50m bid for the Brazilian, with talks still ongoing between the two clubs and representatives of the player.

The La Liga champions first began efforts to lure Willian to the Nou Camp as long as three months ago.

It was reported in May that Manchester United are also interested in signing the versatile winger, who received rave reviews during the World Cup, despite Brazil’s exit at the hands of Belgium in the quarter-finals.

Willian made 55 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea last season, scoring 13 goals.

He has scored 44 goals in 236 appearances for Chelsea since joining from Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala in 2013.

The Kayode Fayemi Campaign Organization has accused the Ekiti State University and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of aiding Governor Ayodele Fayose to rig the Ekiti State governorship election scheduled for Saturday.

A statement on Thursday by the Director of Media and Publicity of the Fayemi Campaign Organization, Wole Olujobi, said Fayose had concluded to sack the Vice Chancellor of Ekiti State University (EKSU) unless he delivers 10,000 votes to PDP from the school.“We are in possession of credible information that the unnecessary shifts in students’ examinations schedule was informed by fraudulent plot to manipulate election results in EKSU to make the figures that will emerge from the school look real and credible.

He warned the EKSU VC and INEC against cooking up figures in favour of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Kolapo Olusola, “Students are supposed to conclude their examinations on July 12 and immediately vacate the campus for their homes before the election on July 14, “But because of the sinister motives by Governor Ayodele Fayose, he forced the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Oye Bandele, to shift the remaining parts of students examinations till after July 14, the day of the governorship, to enable him carry out his plan to deliver the planned 10,000 votes and justify the figures with the presence of students on campus.

“We are also in possession of information bordering on threat that if the Vice Chancellor hopes to keep his job, he as the head of the school must deliver 10,000 votes to PDP and it is on the basis of this that examinations dates were altered to carry out the plot, “By this statement, we put both Prof. Bandele and INEC on notice that we are aware of the plot and we want to counsel both INEC officials and the vice chancellor that they should not get themselves involved in a crime that will make them end their careers in jail.”

Boasting that their interactions with students and staff of the university suggested that they would vote against Fayose's candidate, Olujobi further read: “Our interactions with both staff and students have suggested that they will vote against Fayose’s candidate, Prof. Olusola Eleka, because of alleged anti-people policies of Fayose’s administration, including tax burden on varsity staff, non-payment of salaries and allowances, exorbitant school fees, non-payment of subvention and infrastructure decay, among others, which Eleka hopes to inherit and sustain.”

Warning Fayose to stop daydreaming that Eleka would be the next governor to protect him after leaving the office, Olujobi said the success of Fayemi’s mega rally, on Tuesday, had proven conclusively that Fayose had lost grounds.

He called on security agencies and observers to pay attention to elections in EKSU and urged voters to be vigilant and guide their votes against manipulation.
