The Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II has been invited as a special guest of the Canadian Government to grace the country’s 150th Independence Anniversary celebrations in July this year. The special invitation was conveyed to the African topmost monarch in his palace on Sunday by a Canadian Member of Parliament (MP), Ramesh Sangha.

Delivering the invitation, the Canadian MP said that the invitation was aimed at forging stronger ties between Canada and Nigeria.

Sangha, representing Brampton Central in the Canadian Parliament, said he would collaborate with Federal Government in the areas of economy, youth empowerment, health services, agriculture, science and technology while in Nigeria.

He described Ooni Ogunwusi as a “reference point in Nigeria in view of the enviable niche he has carved for himself since mounting the throne of his forebears.

Responding, Ooni Ogunwusi said he would continue to promote the African tradition and cultural heritage as well as propagate peace and unity across the world.

The Spiritual leader of all the Yoruba people wordwide said he would grace the occasion in Canada and also promised to contribute his quota to the success of the programme.

The Canadian delegation included John Adeyefa, President, Nigerian-Canadian Association in Ottawa, Chidi Nwanyanwu, President, Nigerian-Canadian Association in Ontario and Sola Agboola, Leader, Nigerian Young-Adult Association in Canada.

There was panic in umuahara Elelem, Ngor Okpala LGA recently when youths of the community reduced to rubble the house of Mr and Mrs Udo Okere, self confessed serial kidnappers. According to reports, the couple's cup got full on April 8 2017 after they kidnapped a little girl named Uloma Iheakaram from their village Umuahara during a burial ceremony.

They lid on the crime was blown few days after it was committed, with villagers handing down a week ultimatum within which to return little uloma or have their house brought down.

They failed and angry youths of Elelem made true their vow. The police sources however has said have assured that the the little girl will soon be freed having located her whereabouts.

A 10-year-old boy who is suspected to have been kidnapped -was dropped in Odogbolu, Local Government Area in Ogun State.. The boy who gave his name as Dada was taken to a police station in the area but was allegedly rejected....

This 10 year boy suspected to have been kidnapped and dropped in Odogbolu today said he's from Itele and his name is Dada.

According to the information, he's been taken to the police station but was allegedly rejected and the samaritans were told to return him to wherever they found him.

In the ongoing clearance operation around the fringes of Lake Chad, troops of 8 Task Force Division have continued to hit the few remaining Boko Haram hideouts and what is left of their logistics holding. In the last 72 hours, gallant troops operating in Chikun Gudu, Tumbuma Karami and Tumbuma Baba have neutralized 13 Boko Haram terrorists, while many others escaped with gunshot wounds.

Similarly, troops recovered 3 AK 47 and 1 pump action riffles, assorted riffle magazines and 306 rounds of ammunition, tool box and a Toyota Land Cruiser vehicle. In the vein, troops destroyed 2 other Toyota Land Cruiser vehicles, 1 Toyota truck, 2 Motorcycles and 6 bicycles.

In a related development, troops of 242 Battalion, acting on a tip off, rounded up 10 suspected Boko Haram smugglers. The suspects comprising 6 females and 4 males were arrested in Monguno and Nolwodo Malgori with assorted house - hold items, food stuff and 63, 060 Naira cash. The suspects are are being profiled to determine the extent of their involvement in Boko Haram insurgency.

A graphic photo has emerged of Peoples Democratic Party ward chairman, Mr Agabi Egagifo who was killed in Mereje Town here for Okpe Local Government Area Of Delta State. According to reports, Mr Agabi who was ground commander of Anglican Church in Mereje town and Ward 7PDP Chairman, -just moved into his newly completed building not up to 6 months before his gruesome murder.

He was hacked to death by unknown assailant(s) with a machete. May his soul rest in peace.

The issue of domestic violence can't be over-emphasized. This is very shameful. According to a twitter user who lives in Ilorin, Kwara state, this woman was beaten to pulp in public by her husband. The woman who was badly injured has already been taken to the hospital and her husband handed over to the police.

A man was caught on camera embarrassing himself publicly in broad daylight. While waiting on a queue for a bus in Lagos, the man decided to move closer to the lady in his front, "ensuring" that his manh00d touched its target (which was the lady's backside)...

Even as the lady who appeared to have noticed what was going on moved forward -the man still moved closer while being erect as a huge bulge was visibly seen in his trousers.. such an embarrassment.

The video which was shared on Facebook yesterday has raked over 160,000 views and thousands of shares as online users have blasted the man for the shameless act.

Pandemonium struck at a football game in Uganda between Onduparaka v Saints. According to online reports, the host struck a 95th winner and a soldier attached to Saints wanted to cock his gun. Football fans, players and even officials had to rush the soldier as they seized the gun and remove the magazine.
