I support you on this, go to private schools in cities like Ogun state and Lagos state, I swear to God you wouldn’t want to send your children to private school in any of those states, school is mainly for BUSINESS 💯

Why not leave your job & be a teacher in one of the schools to understand how it works.
stop assuming and think with an open mind. I was once a teacher and i gave it my best while it lasted. I made money and a lot of it despite people complaining that the job pays little. I left because i do not have passion for teaching. Will i teach again? Yes most definitely if i am not doing my current job. Do i understand the challenges? Yes i do. So please if you are teacher and you are not happy with the job kindly resign. You have no business being there.

Brr na true u talk

Last term I happen to teach in a secondary school near barracks, so they have some soldier children as their student.

I teaches mathematics junior classes in this school.
There was a boy in jss1 that I flogged, after flogging the boy the next thing the boy said was master ‘sheybi u Dey come barracks na’ meaning he will report me to his father and d man will beat me cos I use to go to the barracks to play ball.

its sad, and the useless father will willingly do the bidding of his child.

students are to be blame.
During my time, I didn't attend any extra jamb lessons unlike now.
I studied on my own. I used my money to buy past questions papers to study.

Unlike now, when All they do is social media. From chatting on WhatsApp, viewing status to TikTok. Etc

Some valid points here but you need to understand that even if you teach with all the passion in the world, a student who is destined to fail will FAIL!

If you open head pour books inside am, e no gaurantee pass.

You never see person wey do open book exams still fail woefully?!
lol

Perfect talk.....if am a teacher and I love my job, I will also load them with high grades and save my job; since that is what most parents want. No students will score less than B and no one will come last in position.
i feel your pain my brother.

if dem pay you 50k you go teach for passion?

So person wey get passion no suppose enjoy life Abi?
soldiers are being paid 50k yet they love the job. If i have passion for the job, yes I'll take the 50k. Beside you can make more money while teaching. 2013 i thought kids in school despite not being my passion, i made it my singular goal to impact the kids my salary was 12k. But my take home for the month was 185k from home lessons and jamb lessons. That was more than 1k dollars back then. The truth is even those who wants to teach are not knowledgeable and lack basic life skills to survive.

I won't entire put the blame on teachers tho, this parents of this days don't really have time for their kids, this parents leave as early as 5am n returns around 10pm sometimes 11pm de don't monitor their kids. education does not end in d 4 walls of the classroom, it goes beyond that.
teachers in the secondary and primary schools are among the poorest, the salary is nothing to write home about, even if there's passion for the job, the pay is unable to settle the bills. this kids pay more attention to social media also. I suggest a state of emergency in the Nigerian educational sector. this is terrible
I understand but growing up, my teachers impacted me more than i can remember. They do not care who your father was and they did there job without fear or favour. Now we see teachers who are less motivated because employers do not pay them well, parents intimidates them and you dare not punish kids for not doing assignments. This same parent like you said who had little or no time for kids still blame the teacher's for failure

Parents and teachers.

Most teachers teach for the money to survive not for the passion

The schools gives good grades to students so that the parents wouldn't withdraw there wards from the school

You can not discipline children due to the reactions of parents.

Teachers no longer care about students welfare

Can this Man just rest? People pay bills for no electricity generated or used yet they say they need more money? All the monies paid so far what have they used it for?

The power sector was privatised and you are still asking government for $10billion for 10 years. Who does that? If the private sectors had invested much in the last 10 years, Nigerians wouldn't complain about the increase in power tariff
