I just found this thread and it is very interesting to read. I am an engineering graduate and I was looking at how to further my career. I decided to follow the CIPS UK route and have spent some time exploring the options.

I went to the CIPS website (www.cips.org) and saw that there are only 2 official registered centres. I spoke to CIPS and they advised that I register with one of the official centres as they are more likely to have the proper materials and have their pass rates monitored. By the way, the passrates here in Nigeria are low, averaging around 20 or 30% from what i understand. This must be due to the lack of proper centres here in Nigeria for all the people looking to study.

Anyway, I have done some research and wanted to share with you all since this thread is so detailed. Out of the two centres, I have decided to go with Harley Reed. These are my reasons why:
1. They have a lot of experience and they have been doing the course for a number of years from their offices in the UK, Ghana and South Africa. They recently opened in Abuja and will also deliver the CIPS courses in Lagos and Port Harcourt depending on demand
2. They have pass rates of 100% over the past 2 years for all students who have studied with them
3. They have an interactive learning product which is provided on CD to students so you can study at home on your computer through recorded lectures
4. They have proper matierlas, including the official CIPS books
5. Their team includes CIPS examiners from the UK who are able to support students.

Anyway, i think that everyone should do their research, but I hope my information helps. If anyone else has any ideas let me know. The useful websites are:
