Report reaching Exclusive News room now have it that Grantee Trust Bank(GTB) have denied having hand in the current predicament of the CEO of Innoson motors Mr Innocent Chukwuma.

The Managing Director/CEO of the bank Mr Segun Obasun made this known in a press conference at the banks head office located at Plot 635, Akin Adesola Street

Victoria Island Lagos Nigeria.
Our correspondent Chuks uwanna reports that Mr Segun Obasun said that the attention of the bank have been drawed to a news circulating online that GTB have hand in the arrest of one of his customers Mr Innocent Chukwuma, we want to state it categorically clear that GTB have no hand in such arrest, if we have issue with any of our customers we invite the person, if in a case he/she refuses to honor our invitation, we arrest the person with police not EFCC.

He further stated that those behind the falsified and fabricated news are enemies of GTB trying hard to scuttle our efforts to establish good and mutual relationship with our numerous customers.

Now that dollar has more than doubled, that earning should have at least been almost double since customs duty is paid as a percentage of the cost of import which is in dollars and then converted to naira using current exchange rate.

The issue of forgery was brought up as they claimed that was the basis of him getting the facility in the first place which resulted in the wrongful charges. When GTB was asked to produce the documents they claimed were forged, they claimed it was destroyed in a fire incident.

EFCC's Arrest of Innoson Motors Boss.

Our attention has been drawn to a tweet by EFCC on its official Twitter handle claiming that the gestapo kind of arrest of Dr Innocent Chukwuma (OFR) today at his Enugu residence was because he didn't honour an invitation from the commission sent to him.

This claim by the commission is not factual and it tends to mislead the public and bring the personality and character of Dr Innocent Chukwuma to disrepute. Hence we want to state the true position so as to inform the general public the truth about this matter.

EFCC never at any time invited Dr Innocent Chukwuma either in writing or through any other means. We are aware that EFCC investigated GTB's complaint against Innoson in 2012.

During the investigation he was invited and he honoured the invitation. After the investigation EFCC filed a charge against him at Lagos State High Court. The charge was subsequently struck out. However Dr Innocent Chukwuma and Innoson Nigeria Ltd appealed against the order striking out the case on the basis that it ought to be dismissed and not struck out. The appeal - Appeal no. Ca/l/1330cm/2017 - is still pending at the Court of Appeal Lagos division. Till date, EFCC never invited Dr Innocent Chukwuma again.

On this recent arrest, Dr Innocent Chukwuma (OFR) has not been told officially the reason for his arrest, and he demands to know why.
