A Nigerian lady based in Italy, was caught on camera shamelessly fighting a man in the streets of Italy. It is alleged that the lady who held the man on his shirt while slapping him, was fighting the man over money.

Nobel Laureate Prof Wole Soyinka is joining the decolonisation movement at the faculty of humanities at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) as a distinguished visiting professor.

Prof Tshilidzi Marwala, deputy vice-chancellor of research and internationalisation at UJ, says decolonisation entails changing the movement of knowledge from the developed world to the developing world and that the appointment spoke to this project of decolonising education in the country.

Having Soyinka at the university was a move that shows Africans could have their own literature, which has its own style and flavour, he adds.

“Thereby, we can then export that literature to the rest of the world and reverse the direction of knowledge that has tended to come from outside due to our colonial history. It’s a clear demonstration that, as Africans, we have capacity and something to give to the world.”

Soyinka, who actively teach and engage in public discourse on global politics and development, will be mentoring and lecturing at the university’s “distinguished lectures” where the public is invited to talk about literature, governance and development, among a host of other themes.

Educated in Ibadan, Nigeria, and Leeds, England, where he obtained honours in English, Soyinka has held fellowship and professorial positions in the dramatic arts and comparative literature at the universities of Ibadan, Lagos and Ife (Nigeria), Legon (Ghana), Sheffield and Cambridge (England), and Yale, Cornell, Harvard, Emory, Nevada, and Loyola Marymount (US). He continues lecturing in other American, European, African and Chinese universities.

“He has been and continues to be associated with some of the best Universities in the world. UJ’s drive to decolonisation, as well as the Africanisation of knowledge, has led to substantial dialogues at the institution. These conversations provide the university the opportunity to ask searching questions about our African identity and our role in nurturing the ‘New Africa’, and the future of our university. Soyinka, as a high profile academic and social influencer, whose work, sentiments, and political positionality is taken very seriously in Africa, and across the world, will bring a new dimension to this discourse,” says Prof Alex Broadbent, Executive Dean, Faculty of Humanities at UJ.

“Beyond the funds associated with the acclaimed Wole Soyinka Award for literature, there is the added value of the foundation meetings that will attract high-profile participants and enhance literature work at UJ worldwide,” Broadbent adds, “This will result in the further realisation of the internationalisation of the curriculum, and add to UJ’s international partnerships and mobility. The research and publications envisaged to flow from the foundation work will be important too for UJ’s research profile.”

A transgender woman dubbed the "Toxic Behind" doctor has been jailed for using Super Glue and Fix-a-Flat tire sealant to enlarge women’s behinds and causing one patient to die.

Oneal Ron Morris, 36, was sentenced to 10 years Monday in Florida’s Broward County court after pleading guilty to manslaughter and injecting several women with the toxic mixture, CBS Miami reports.

Shatarka Nuby, 31, died after receiving as many as 10 injections from Morris between 2007 and 2010. She paid Morris as much as $2,000 for the deadly procedures.

“There’s no closure. Putting [Morris] in jail won’t bring her back,” said Nuby’s aunt Juanita in court.
Morris, who is not a licensed doctor, combined silicone, mineral oil, Fix-a-Flat tire sealant, cement and Super Glue to give women shapelier backsides.

She previously served a year in prison on related charges. Several of her patients were in court for her latest sentencing, saying they became sick after receiving the bogus injections, which they believed were actually medical-grade silicone.

“You gave us your word that the products you was using was A-1 products. And come to find out they were not,” said victim Kisha Jones. “Maybe in the beginning, but greed really took over, because you was pocketing the money from every victim."

In this article she complained that she applied for her international passport since February 10th which she paid #30,000 in Delta State Immigration office, and have not been able to collect her passport till date due to lack of booklet nationwide as complained by immigration officer.

She complained of how she spent such a huge some of money to acquire an international passport at this period of time when our dearly beloved country is currently suffering from recession.

According to her, when she asked one of the Immigration Officer on duty when her passport would be ready, she was told that as a result of scarcity of booklet nationwide, he could not guarantee her the availability and readiness of her passport.

It is also to our notice that the immigration office collected #28,000 with some other charges and still delayed some persons from collecting their passports while it is stated on the site of Nigeria Immigration Service (https://portal.immigration.gov.ng/pages/passportguidelines) that with #8750 - #20,000, your passport is made available. A fatal accident along the Tunga Giwa – Ruwa road in Shanga Local Government Area of Kebbi, claimed the lives of 22 traders on Monday March 20th.

The traders were returning from Tungan Giwa market when the accident happened.

According to reports, the accident occurred when a van carrying the traders somersaulted and caught fire while trying to avoid a pothole. The van hit a motorcyclist who also died in the accident.

All 22 traders who were on board the van died and were buried in a mass grave yesterday. The Funeral was attended by the state governor, Abubakar Bagudu.

Eight other persons who sustained injuries in the accident are currently receiving treatment at the Yauri General Hospital. Photos of them below..

Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Hameed Ali, has arrived the National Assembly for his appearance before the senators. He however defiled their order to appear in a Customs uniform, intsead arriving in mufti. He came in at about 10.30am in company of the Special Adviser to President Buhari on Senate matters, Ita Enang.
The senate this week mandated him to appear before the house dressed in his Uniform to explain the controversial motor duty policy. Hameed has however stated that he would not be wearing the Uniform as he was not employed by President Buhari to wear uniforms.

Former Chelsea, Real Madrid and AC milan player Michael Essien has completed a move to Indonesian club side Persib Banding barely six months after leaving Greek side, Panathinaikos.

The former African player of the year, 34, has been training with Chelsea's reserve team for the last six months and will wear the No.5 shirt for his new team after penning a one year deal with the option of an extension.

He told the club's official website:

A 14 year old kick boxer, Scott Marsden, from Hillsborough, Sheffield has reportedly died after he collapsed during an English National title fight in Leeds and was rushed to the hospital for immediate treatment.

The fight which happened on Saturday, had to be stopped by the referee after he received so many blows to his body and then collapsed, and now friends early Tuesday morning have taken to social media to mourn Scott, who they say passed away last night.

As at press time,the West Yorkshire Police said he isn't dead but is in 'critical condition' and they won't treat the case as a suspicious one but his friends and fellow kickboxers say he died overnight.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said to Dailymail UK: 'At 1.20pm on Sunday, police were contacted by medical staff at Leeds General Infirmary reporting a 14-year-old boy who was in a critical condition after collapsing during an organised kickboxing contest at Alexandra Mill, Morley, on Saturday night.

'The family of the boy are at the hospital and have been spoken to by officers. Inquiries are being carried out into the circumstances.'

Kickboxing clubs have also planned a one minute silence at their next fighting event in memory of the boy.

A man from China has stunned medical staff and other patients after he was seen calmly waiting on a queue with a kinife stuck in his eye. The 30-year-old, with a fruit knife stuck in his left eye, was spotted calmly queuing in a hospital in Fujian, according to Chinese media.

The man claimed that he had been stabbed by his wife during a row, said reports.

The Chinese man, unidentified, was bleeding heavily while waiting in the Fujian Provincial Hospital in Fuzhou on March 11. The blade appeared to be firmly lodged in his eye. Only the handle of the knife could be seen sticking out from his face. The man was queuing outside a consulting room at around 1am, according to an eyewitness.

The eyewitness, who was also a patient, said that the man had been conscience and that he had acted 'normally'.

A CT scan showed that the knife had poked 3.4 inches (8.7 centimetres) into the man's skull through his eye socket.

Medical staff removed the knife and cleaned the wounds for the man, who left the hospital afterwards.

According to reports, the man had not reported to the police about the attack. It remains unclear whether or not he reported the case after leaving the hospital.

SON, the Standards Organisation of Nigeria has arrested two Chinese citizens, Xu Jing Yau and Taolung Shen who were said to have dealt in substandard tyres worth over N5bn.

18-year-old Madisyn Yuhas suffers from a rare condition called Recessive Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa, which makes it impossible for her to engage in any form of body contact or even eat food due to the risk of having her skin or mouth peel off from the slightest friction.

Madisyn spends her days in pain and is constantly alert to avoid body contact. She is mostly covered in bandages from her neck down and feeds through a tube because chewing gives her severe blisters in her mouth. The inability to feed properly has caused her to be underweight. Sadly, her condition has no cure and she has to live with it.


Doctors realized Madisyn had the condition when she was born without skin from her knee down,but at the time, it was not as aggressive as it is now. Her condition has worsened as she's aged, causing her to give up certain physical activities like her love for dancing while confining her to a wheel chair.

Madisyn's mum, Mary Yuhas, 46, speaking on the extent of her daughter's suffering said;

"Any time she brushes up against something, if she opened a door, slipped on her shoes or even moved in bed she could tear her skin. Once at school when she was standing in line, someone stepped on her foot and it ripped the whole top layer of her skin off, right down to the muscle." Bathing."
