Education / Those In Agricultural science Discipline And Related Fields, Please Come In by jonath0012(m): 4:27pm On Apr 17, 2017
hello guys, I'm carrying out a research on a topic, but i need to take some samples to the lab and analyze them. those sample I want to analyze are tuber yams. sweet potatoes and cassava. N:B: my discipline is far from agricultural science or related fields. My challenge is not how to get those sample as they are in abundant in the market. I will need to specify the specie of each sample used, which i cannot identify.
For instance, I wanna use discorea rotundata (white yam), which i know is common in the market, but how will I differentiate them.

Please, if you can be of help on this I will be grateful.

some girls can be so confused
I tell you my brother... Very confused bunch of people..I think she does not want to get married as a second wife and at the same time desire to live an exotic life in America. I just told her to clear herself of that state of confusion, then we can talk.
I guess most are driven by material wealth..

Romance / Re: Ladies, What's Your Take On Guys That Smoke? by jonath0012(m): 11:14am On Apr 17, 2017
ZarZar:

I didn't say opposition to smoking is village mentality. I said, coming to an unfounded, bad conclusion about someone's character on the basis that they smoke, is a mentality of a village ignoramus. I'm sticking to it! How many times are we told not to judge a book by its cover? There are even variations of it like, not all that glitters is gold. Which is to say, look deeper before making surface judgments on people. Smoking may be prohibited in public places to avoid "cross-contamination" but that is not to say people shouldn't smoke in designated areas if they want to. It is a matter of choice after all. Like it is your choice to stay the hell away from smokers instead of bitching & moaning about it as if they don't know the health risks involved. They smoke regardless because they don't care about your crummy opinion & also because it's a freedom of choice being exercised. We all have the right to do whatever the hell we want, just as long as it is within the confines of the law. So STFU about it already & make better, healthier choices in your own life where you're the bawse.

Madam, keep your mouth shut there. what is bad is bad! Period!

Education / Re: Why Students Fail Maths In WAEC, NECO - Prof. Onah by jonath0012(m): 7:46am On Apr 17, 2017
Well this is very true with the number of mushroom secondary schools we have around..How can Guidance and counseling graduate be teaching mathematics? that is how worst it has become. Our school administrators don't care about the quality of their teachers so far they just have someone their as figure head...
Another reason is too much workloads. how can a teacher be teaching mathematics, english, chemistry, physics and chemistry in the same school. of course there won't be effectiveness..well, if we like make we talk am tomorrow, they won't change..

Romance / Re: Is This A Common Risk When Dating Nigerian Men In The U.S? by jonath0012(m): 6:22pm On Oct 27, 2016
livemocha93:
Hello all! I found this site after searching online to see if anyone else had ever encountered such a story as mine. I felt really isolated & as if no one in the world could understand my emotions. It actually has been kind of refreshing to see that these things happen often and that I wasn't singled out. I've really become thankful that my situation isn't near as heartbreaking as some that I have seen here.
I don't want to write a long story but basically I was friends with this guy then we began dating for about a year when last December I discovered he had gone home over the holidays & got married. I was in shock however my intuition told me that something was strange about his behavior a few wks before he left. He was just sad & started telling me how I deserved better than him. He touched on the fact that his family felt it was time he settled down but it never crossed my mind that his trip home would result in a marriage, wedding & all. I confided in a close friend & on a whim she searched his name on Facebook(he doesn't have social media) to see if anything came up concerning his behavior while away & Lo and behold, there were wedding photographs. It was definitely him. I was devastated & embarrassed. I don't want to go into too much detail but we were extremely close. We spent a lot of time & energy on each other & I never had any inkling that there was anyone else in his life. He was still calling me while he was away but I stopped responding & a few weeks went by before I finally answered & told him I knew. He didn't deny it but he stated that it was something he had to do & that it was all of a sudden, set up by his family. Bride chosen by them also. I refused to believe this man I thought I knew so well would leave this major aspect of his life to his family. And it didn't matter because the end result was the same...he was married. I just was hard on myself wondering if he had a girlfriend/fiancée the whole time & I missed the red flags. I didn't see how a decent human being could have such ill intentions all along with myself & the woman he married. Anyway he came back to the States & went about life as usual. & to be honest, he eventually wore me down & returned to my life. I was in love with him. And honestly for a while, everything was the same as it always had been. But my mind started to win over my heart & I knew it wasn't real. There was no future with him. Time has continued to heal me & I've been convicted because I do know better & more is expected of me. But in the beginning this man intruded upon my life, my family, and friends as a great guy & possibly the one for me. I know that he is not but I can't understand why he'd work so hard to become intertwined with everything that concerns me then go off & marry someone else.He acted like it's a normal thing and he can have it all. I've distanced myself & been really strong going forward & leaving this behind. I thank God there is nothing tying me or this guy to each other & I pray everyday to be forgiven for my actions with this married man. We didn't co-habitate or do anything that would require us to have to communicate or see each other. He is persistent so I don't expect him to disappear but I'm completely over it. We engage in small talk here & there but I wish for that to cease as well. Reading here has opened my eyes to what could have been my life playing second fiddle with this guy.
What I'm left with now is a lot of regret & just feeling naive to so much. I am smart & usually not one to get over on but he completely threw me for a loop. What if I never found out? What if we married and he used me for citizenship? What if I gave him more than a year of my life? It's all so scary. I took my time getting to know him, trusted him & thought highly of him. I hate to think this is a common way of Nigerian men here. Although I suspect him to be the first & last for me... Just wondering if there is an answer to my "Why" these situations occur... And I also hope sharing my cautionary tale helps someone else. Helps and not harms, bc deep down I don't want to generalize based off my 1 encounter.

Well, just thank your star you found out before you guys married.
I know a guy in the US that married a white lady and now planning to divorce her to marry a Nigerian lady.. You people should open your eyes now.. Any Nigerian men that propose marriage to you, it is not because of love but for obvious reasons.. Be wise!

Infact, I can say that there is no thread you will not see the picture used as illustration.
Is it some kind of new addiction or crazy stuff on here?

@Op, that guy is a PUA. He is only making himself irresistible and attractive to you. I tell you he canceled that date on purpose, and he achived that purpose.

He is coming back to strike and after he finishes, he will move to the next girl. Your world has been conquered; nothing interesting anymore about it.

Now what is the antidote?
Listen to me very well: to get the guy crawling and begging to put the ring in your finger, to conquer his world completely, there is only ONE thing you can do, I repeat, there is only ONE thing you can do: DON'T GIVE A F**K ABOUT HIM.

Come back and give testimony!

Well, you have demonstrated beyond reasonable doubt that you are nothing but a "teenage adult". Developing your brain and Figuring out your identity now should be your utmost concern. Until then I won't take your comments serious.
