That's the struggle. Considering the fact that PhD grade in most Universities is done in percentage as compared to the cgpa style.

But I think there might be some schools that their PhD requirement is less than 60% (prolly with a clause).

please, how is the 60% thing is calculated as compare to normal undergraduate cgpa... i thought 3.0/5.0 cgpa amounts to 60%

take a cab going towards alhikmah university, tell them you will drop after mandate market, you will see there office. incase you don't get a cab direct, you can break the journey by taking a cab to taiwo or gari alimi, then you will take another cab going to mandate market, there office is after the market.
Thank you much more... Have done that together with the so called "screening" also.

You may be good in mathmatics but you were not in economics. By the virtue of PPP (pricing power parity) you cant compare wages in one country due to many factors (ie cost of living, inflation etc). Also been living overseas my whole life I ddoubt if there are jobs that pay that amount more like minimum wage in the US and around EUR 5-7 in Europe. But I do agree that N8000 is low, I thought the minimum wage was N18000, probably public sector but should be made to include the private too.
You have made a very vital point from my heart.
I have been thinking in that line for some months now. The minimum wage should be applicable to all sectors of economy, both private and public.
Before anybody can establish a company or school, there should be a standardized minimum wage for the workers especially for "Graduate" approved by the law of the land. There should not be all these ridiculous pay that won't even encourage the productivity of the worker nor the moral of younger ones still in school.

God will intervene one day... Many graduates are passing through HELL indeed.

I was surprised when I was told NUC increased the duration of the program from 12 months minimum to 18 months.
Not sure how valid this is... My school (University of Ilorin) still minimum of 12 calendar months as at 2014/2015 admission set which formally resumed since Oct.

Secured admission but don't know much about their MSc electrical program.
Since you have admission secured already, you can go there and make more inquiry, especially from senior colleague.
Be proud of what you have and don't allow anybody to poison your mind.
Cheers...

fellow geologist....I would like to enrol for my masters degree program in petroleum geology or geophysics after my NYSC next yr July! please can u tell which university would be preferable for it
Almost all the Universities(Federal) in Nigeria are the same when it comes to postgraduate degree in Geology.
I'm currently doing mine in University of Ilorin due to her stable academic calender that is without any interference with ASUU strike or other body, and I did my B.Sc from state university.

Just choose school of your choice and make more inquiry about them as to programs available, lecturers available, and most importantly the cost.

P.S: As you will be finishing service June, I believe Unilorin is still the best for you because the school starts post graduate academic session far ahead than any other school in Nigeria.

sad truth. in school then we go dey feel say we don arrive then service ends and we see the bigger picture. Engineering is miles ahead on 'hot cake ness' than Geology.

but person wey God wan bless him go bless....
You get the gist jooor. Engineering is far ahead of geology. Very minute opening for geology graduate. Though, the consolation they do say is that, if geologist gets his dream job(Oil Job), his life is better for life.
Nevertheless, other courses like engineering get this job easier than geology.

Na God hand I dey ooooo

Pls you guys should stop making things complex for yourselves! The information on INEC website is quite explicit. I'm not sure I read anywhere that says we should submit the printed slip to any of the Inec offices. We were only instructed to Print out the two acknowledgement slip! And nothing more. They'll get back to shortlisted peeps and give them further intsruction as to what to do with the printed slip. We are only required to bring along the slip on Training day as clearly stated on the printed slip. I bet you some of those Inec workers at local government don't know a jack. Asking you to fill the position and bla bla bla on the log book is more like Re applying again which most of us av done already through the major site. I applied and got a successful mail from them. So guys chill your nerves till they get back to us! Those running to Inec offices are just been nervous!! Guys chill!! Peace out! Merry xmas and prosperous new year to you all.
Thank you for your timely observation man. Have been watching some people silently about going to INEC offices for this and that, without staying with the guideline INEC stipulated on time. Our anxiety to get this work can make us do against what is good for our system. INEC will call at their appropriate time with further instruction.
The side effect of this is that, with time, people will start paying money silently(bribery) or other means just to get the work, whereas d person you are submitting to also applied the same way we did for the same work.
Don't run faster than the shadow so as not to fall as victim.

Nevertheless, gullible ones will still be deceived!

Nice one! I'm following the other trend on PHD as well.
B.Sc (Geology)
M.Sc, Petroleum Geology and sedimentology (Nigeria), looking forward to starting my Ph.D. As soon as possible when I deliver safely this MSc pregnancy.

In all, MSc Geology in Nigeria not a small matter ooo... Just hoping on God to see me through successfully, especially in finance matter.

Enough of all these jamboree abstract tutorial. A man from poor background going into business, won't he need tested and trusted skill plus money??.

Element of pride in the lives of those speakers sha, they don't want to serve a boss, yet they aspire to be a boss overnight so that people can serve them.

Abeg, anyhow they want it, I prefer to be slave to Chevron or other big company for now as a graduate of geology, than being my own boss.

Oh oo... Its okay then. I just hope these guys pay us well.

Going by recent comments here, N17,000 is not worth the risk for 2 weeks at the Polling Booth.
You are just trying to exaggerate the work. It is two days (2 Saturday) work and not two weeks' work. I also took part at the Anambra election last year as PO and APO for second saturday election as Onitsha corps member then.
