If I am been a judgemental level(which I am today) I would give it to TIMBALAND, but swizz beatz is catching up. Love the work Swizz did for TI and EVE recently, but Timbaland is been, is and would continue to be one of the best producer. Scott Scotch should kiss Timabaland Ass.
Webmasters / Re: Are FemaleClients More Difficult To Satisfy? by juintade(m): 10:00am On Oct 04, 2007
I think clients are clients irrespective of whether they are women or men. I have had the oppurtunity to deal with women in as part of our client, but so far so good for me, hence I cant fault them.

Guess you should just learn from your experience to apply in late projects, once beaten twice shy.

if your situation is true based on the above poster comment, then I urge you to fulfil your obligation, but I guess it also comes with great risk, LOL
Travel / Re: Which Country Is Known For Pretty Ladies? by juintade(m): 9:49am On Oct 04, 2007
As they say, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. I have always thought the Enhglish girls are hot (actually 5 years) but now it seems to be the Asian girls, that I think are the most beautiful.

You cant say they are from one location or the other, those ladies that win/compete miss world competition, you cant tell me they are the most beautiful in the world.

Well lest just say all women are beautiful in one way or the other. To you ladies, I love you all.

you should be looking at learning XHTML instead of HTML, though basically the same but the newer version of HTML.

A good place to start is

Webmasters / Re: What Site Have You Designed Best? by juintade(m): 2:48pm On Sep 26, 2007
@Kobojunkie

Thanks for your complement. The first one I deployed was pretty bad, hence I had to redesign it, especially now that the software we are trying to sell is beginning to generate a lot of interest.

I also used to think that was it becuase I am based outside Nigeria that I could not access most of the link posted on this site.

Hoping my next website would be CSS based as I am about to start learning how to move away from tabled style webpages

Kobojunkie:

LOL, I was going to ask if it is some security thing that does not allow people in other locations to view the sites cause most all of them seem to be down , cheesy

By the way , I would say that 90% of the ones I actually saw did not entice me in any way. grin, I am not even a designer but I like to critic designs. Now I did like that Xdavis site, looked neat, simple and to the point.

NOw @Juintade, that site works for me and the design is not only simple, it is clean, the links works, I give you two thumbs up!!!

Webmasters / Re: You Need To See This Website. by juintade(m): 10:34am On Sep 20, 2007

from browsing through the site, it just goes to show that the onwer of the site is more of art/grahic designer than a web developer/designer.

Credits to the developer of the site, it looks and feel great, but as my2cents said navigation is a big issue, and websites is all about navigation and accessibility
Webmasters / Re: I Need Help/advice On Dreamweaver! by juintade(m): 11:02am On Sep 13, 2007
@poster

If you are going to upgrade, I urge you to upgrade tot eh CS3 version. Better integration with other Adobe products, comes with the Spry AJAX framework, A timeline feature enabling you to create animation without needing to design in Flash and many more.

But version 8 still does a very good job(still using it, as I dont have money yet to upgrade), but I just think it is pointless upgrading without getting the latest version of a product.

web_master:

Why are you using Microsoft Access as your database anyway?. I hope you know the limitations.

Well, I wish someone had told the initial program designer about that. MS SQL would have been my choice but my current task to generate reports based on the records in the database, and I have gone through a lot stress using Access than I would have if I were using MS SQL, but all well and good.

@Cactus

I have got my date selection field orted out already, but many thanks. I have thinking of using the array function, I would give it a short based on what you have explained. Thanks once again
Webmasters / Re: Comparing Sql Query Results by juintade(m): 4:20pm On Sep 12, 2007
@web master
I actually have a field that does that but I really dont have an hint as to go about it.

Based on another quick on the internet, I realised if I was using MS SQL, I could use the SQL INTERSECT ( http://www.1keydata.com/sql/sql-intersect.html ) statement, but I tested have since found out after testing that Microsoft Access does not support this.

Does anyone know a similar SQL command that could I could use in place of the INTERSECT command
Webmasters / Comparing Sql Query Results by juintade(m): 3:33pm On Sep 12, 2007
Hello Folks,

I am currently working on a project using Access and ASP, recently I have been tasked to create the ability for users of the system to compare results.

I would try and explain has much as I can, here I go:

The requirment is to create a system enabling users to be able to determine at a click if a user's name exist in the system, 12 months from today comparing the names that exist for this months record, hence I am comparing the names in the system with the names in the system for the past 12 months.

The system does not store monthly record of any sort.

In short, I just wanted to know if you guys can point to the a weblink or books that explains how I can compare results from queries.

A friend told me it was possible in MS SQL, but unfortunately the underlying database is Microsoft Access

Many thanks in advance guys

Webmasters / Re: Nigerian Hacking Team by juintade(m): 8:39pm On Sep 10, 2007
Knowledge is power, what you do with the power is a whole different situation entirely.

A friend's friend of my actually does his Phd in Hacking, gets paid a lot and the company also pays for his course. guess every company, especially network and software developer need members of staff with hacking knowledge.

I dont know if because the poster is a Nigerian that you all see hacking as a big deal and the conclusion by most is that its giving we nigerians a bad image.

When SAP hacked ORACLE earlier this year, no body seems to say much, but when a nigerian says lets start a hacking team its a big deal.

If the poster is starting ethical hacking count me in, as the skills and knowledge gained from this would probably make me a better system developer.

Bite me,
Webmasters / Re: A Tale Of Two Websites by juintade(m): 8:13pm On Sep 10, 2007
As we dont know what contract is in place between the client and the webmaster for the .com version, I dont think we can speculate.

We had the same problem for a freelance project we did for a client, the client had to pay more than the £5 he would have paid if he had owned the domain name, all I can say it does get sticky than we might think
Webmasters / Re: A Tale Of Two Websites by juintade(m): 7:52pm On Sep 10, 2007
@poster

I do totally agree with you that your website looks more appealing and far better. I do agree with one of the poster that you should ask to control the .com as well.

At the time of writting this Google actually did a recent search for your site than the .com version, applying organic technic, i guess with time your version of the site would appear on top, good luck with that.

Share with the forum what the outcome is.

With reference to the picture gallery of your site, can I just ask that the fact of the user clicking on the image taking them to a new page and then clicking back is a bit stressful(not a big deal), can I suggest you apply the lightbox JS library effect to it.

Check the link out here to gain an understanding of what I mean

Can I just say that the design structure used is not very good. Put the CSS in a seperate file and link into the page, that way you can seperate the style from the content, making it easier to trouble shoot the code.

I have resolved the problem, you initially forgot to state what type of script you were using and you used some comments tags that you did not close. I dont have an APACHE server to test it, but it now work in IE. Here is the modified code, hope it helps, if you still get stcuk let me know:

Programming / Re: Web based Pharmaceutical Sales Management System. Help! by juintade(m): 3:20pm On Aug 25, 2007
@ poster

Analysis, the first and the most important part of any project.

Why dont you go into a pharmarcy and interview the pharmacist, sales staff, suppliers, etc and even possible customers, and you would be amased how much information you could gather.

I would also advise you to design a good system and possibly encourage pharmarcy to get on board and probably sponsor you for the project, and who knows where it would lead. Did the same for my final year project and I now charge the company an annual lincense fee after the deployent of the project, even though it was their idea in the first place.

Best of luck
Webmasters / Re: Images As A Text On Your Website Or Text Only by juintade(m): 3:13pm On Aug 25, 2007
@poster

I wont personally advise you use to use image as text, and as some of the response has clearly stated is is not search engine friendly, but I do agree with the user that recommended that u should make use of css, that is one of the main reason for having css.

The other reason why I would not advise you to use is image, is due to accessibility issue, in the UK, designers and developers are now considering this, its becoming a big issue, and even Adobe is beginning to encourage flash developers to consider it. It might not be a big deal in Nigeria at the moment, but think of the future.

Well if you do decide to use image, dont forget the alt tags(I am an accessibility addict, sorry about that) and for larger image, you might want to cache the images on the client computer before hand. To do this use the image tag but set the height and width to 1, this would precache the image before to use gets to the page where it is needed.
Programming / Re: Is It Good To Use Ms Access For A Company Database by juintade(m): 3:05pm On Aug 25, 2007
I hope you have now decided whether you are going to use Access or not.

With reference to the quote below, if by any chance you decide you want to host and make it available for internet users, one security step with took was to look for an hosting that did store our database on a server that was not directly connected to the internet, hence we we could only access the Database as in a whole through ftp download and the apges connects to the database through the connection page

@tomX:

If your application is a small one you will find Access to be a good platform but note the following:
. Access, like most desktop databases has a limiting size of about 100mb per database. This will be a problem if your database is growing.
. Anyone knowing the whereabout of your database can easily go into it directly and manipulate values. This could compromise your data integrity.
Enjoy.

@Adeniyi,

Your question is not a yes/no response. I currently manage a database system via the internet for over 120 users. Its been working perfectly for three years now.

Due to some limites feature in Microaft Access, a lot of programming and data manipulation has to be done when we need to add more features to the system, but its still fast, easily deployable and does its job well.

If I may ask, what kind of system are you really looking forward to building with it

@ all members

Just a rough idea that struck me. why dont we all work together and produce some form of video tutorial to help the people new to dreamweaver. the video can be hosted via youtube, I am one of the few people that hate learning through books or long bnoring tutorials, just use books/prints for reference purposes.

I am currently using Dreamweaver 8, might be upgrading to cs3 in the new year.

Let me know what you guys think
