George Floyd memorial service in Minneapolis begins with T.I, Ludacris Tyrese Gibson, Kevin Hart and others in attendance


A private memorial service is being held in Minneapolis in honor of George Floyd, the unarmed black man who died after a white police officer pinned him to the ground and pressed his knee on his neck for nearly nine minutes.

The memorial service is taking place at the Frank J. Lindquist Sanctuary at North Central University, located about 3 miles north of the intersection where George was arrested on Memorial Day.

In attendance are Gov. Tim Walz, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar, of Minneapolis, civil rights leaders Martin Luther King III, and Rev. Jesse Jackson among many others.

T.I. and his wife Tiny alongside Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, Kevin Hart, Tiffany Haddish, Will Packer, Master P, and Marsai Martin are among the stars at the memorial service.

An unidentified married man reportedly fainted after sex with his married lover in Lagos.

The woman who was interrogated by some residents of the area where the incident occurred, admitted she is married but added that she regrets hooking up with the man. The middle-aged woman further disclosed that she lives around Mutatiri in Cele, Lagos.

She recalled telling her child she was going to “buy something” before leaving her house as she blamed herself continously. The elderly man was subsequently rushed to the hospital on a bike.

One of the suspects linked to the rape and murder of Miss Vera Uwaila Omozuwa has been arrested by police officers attached to the Edo state police command.



LIB reported earlier that the 22-year-old 100-level student of the University of Benin, Edo State was raped and killed while reading in a church in Benin city.



Spokesman of Edo police command, Chidi Nwabuzor confirmed the arrest while speaking to newsmen. He said the suspect was arrested after the deceased was rushed to the hospital and the fingerprint on the fire extinguisher she was attacked with was examined.



Nwabuzor said the suspect was apprehended after the Area Commander of Ikpoba Hill mobilized his men to take action.

Regina Daniels whose pregnancy news was first announced today by her husband, Ned Nwoko, 59, has released more photos and videos of her baby bump.

The couple got married in May last year and are now expecting their first child together.

Politician Ned Nwoko made the pregnancy announcement on Instagram after which Regina took to her own account to release more photos and videos while explaining what it feels like being pregnant. She said it’s the best feeling ever and she finds herself talking to her bump.

Friends and fellow actors have sent in congratulatory messages following her announcement.

A video shared online shows the moment a boy got into a physical fight with his father in Abia state.



In the video, the boy, named Abuchi, is seen fighting his father in front of their home, in the full glare of the public.



Voices can be heard cautioning the boy but the fight between father and son continued.



A spectator got involved and tried to separate the fight then pushed the father and son inside.



According to reports, the son was angry that his father has not given them money for food ever since the lockdown started.

A video which captured moment a police officer asked a Black driver to lick his own urine in Illinois, has gone viral after being shared online.

The driver, a former federal safety investigator identified as Marcus Mosley was tased and arrested last year after being accused of urinating on the side of a road in Illinois.

In the video which was recorded by police body worn camera on May 17, 2019, the Defendant Lynwood Police Officer Luke Tambrini told Mosley he wasn’t allowed to park on the side of the road or to urinate in public and asked for his identification.

After Mosley denied that he urinated in public, Tambrini conducted what the lawsuit calls a “sham field investigation” during which Mosley was subjected to “a willful and wanton display of outrageously inhuman cruelty.”

Tambrini first asked Mosley to take his finger and touch a “little puddle of water” beside his car that he claimed was urine, the video shows. After Mosley obliged, Tambrini replied, “Now lick it.”

“Who’s gonna lick dirt?” Mosley replied, visibly upset. “You think ‘cause I’m black I’m gonna sit here and touch some dirt, then lick it?” Mosley then requested that the officer call a supervisor to the scene because he had a problem with how he was being treated.

When Tambrini told Mosley he was going to write him tickets for parking illegally and urinating in public, Mosley declined to provide him his name and information and repeatedly asked that a supervisor be dispatched to the scene, according to the video.

Eventually, Tambrini said he was going to have to arrest Mosley for obstructing identification and “needlessly escalated the situation by drawing, pointing, and shooting a Taser” at Mosley, according to the suit.

Swiss sex workers have drawn up a list of rules which they say minimises the risk of transmitting coronavirus in brothels, in hopes that the country's ban on the industry could soon be lifted.

It comes as Switzerland's adult industry has been heavily hit by the pandemic, after the government placed a temporary ban on prostitution two months ago to help stop the spread of the virus.

The plan to reopen the industry, prepared by the organisation ProKoRe, suggests that sex positions which allow for a safe distance between faces, such as 'doggy style' and 'reverse cowgirl', are advisable.



These positions reduce the risk of transmission of the virus in water droplets, Swiss media outlet Watson reported.

Both 'doggy style' and 'reverse cowgirl' allow for the woman to face away from her sexual partner, avoiding face-to-face contact.

Other measures for protecting the health of sex workers include ventilating rooms for at least 15 minutes after each customer, and washing bed sheets and hand towels at a temperature of at least 60 degrees each time.

It also recommends sex workers to wear a mouth and nose covering at all times.

Gloves, condoms and disinfectants would also be provided at the brothels and each session should be kept to 15 minutes.


The document also advises against workers touching the personal belongings of customers, such as a jacket.

Customer contact data would be recorded for the purpose of tracing and kept for four weeks.

The document calls for the lifting of lockdown restrictions for sex workers to coincide with the next easing of measures on June 8.

ProKoRe urged the Swiss government to lift the restrictions as a matter of urgency, stating that the current ban was giving rise to illegal sex work and creating safety issues.
Prostitution in Switzerland is legal and regulated, while trafficking, forcing people into prostitution and most forms of pimping are illegal.

A police statement said: “Sooraj stayed in the same room as Uthra as if nothing had happened.

“He was going about his morning routine the next day when he was alerted by Uthra’s mother’s screams.”

It added: “They took her to the hospital where the doctor said she had died.

According to MonoramaOnline, Uthra’s parents became suspicious when Sooraj tried to secure ownership of his wife’s property just days after her death.

She was from an affluent family, but Sooraj, who worked in a private bank, was not doing so well financially.

The couple had a one-year-old child.

Police said the marriage had involved a huge dowry comprising nearly 100 gold coins, a new car and some 500,000 rupees (around $20,000) in cash.

“Sooraj feared that divorcing Uthra would mean giving back all the dowry. That’s when he decided to kill her,” the police statement said.

The snake provider was also arrested, the statement added.

Police made an arrest on Thursday after a heartbreaking viral video showed a young man punching an elderly patient lying in bed in a nursing home.

Police said in a statement that they are holding a 20-year-old man in connection to the assault and battery of an elderly male at Westwood Nursing Center in the 16500 block of Schaefer on Detroit’s west side.

In the video, the 20-year-old is seen violently punching the 75-year-old man and the young man can be heard telling the victim something about staying out of his bed.

Detroit Police Chief James Craig said the department is investigating the incident that occurred at Westwood Nursing Center on the city’s northwest side.

“What our investigation has revealed so far was the nursing home was unaware of an assault until they saw the video,” Detroit police Chief James Craig said at a news conference Thursday. “We are still investigating that aspect of the case, but we do have a suspect in custody.”

Nigeria has one of the most rigid rent payment systems in Africa as the majority of landlords require upfront payment on apartments. This is despite the fact that most tenants receive their income on a monthly basis. About 60 percent of tenants will not be able to pay their house rents in Nigeria in the coming months as the rampaging coronavirus pandemic persists with its crippling impact on household income, estate agency professionals have said.


The lockdown has left many tenants and landlords in precarious positions.“If the tenant is having difficulty paying rent, I would strongly encourage them to communicate this with the landlord so they can possibly come to a mutually beneficial payment plan.

Tenants are also cautioned to consider the negative effects an eviction will have on their credit score as well as their ability to rent another property,” he said.


Not only could being evicted make it trickier for a tenant to successfully apply for new tenancy, but it could also affect their credit score if the landlord obtains a debt judgment against him/her for the missed payments.


Nigerian landlords should accommodative where possible during this difficult time. If the landlord can afford it, allow the tenant to take a payment holiday or to suggest a payment plan that could suit both parties,” he said.
