Romance / Re: What Does A Ring Really Mean? by kabukabu(m): 11:29pm On Jun 02, 2011 |
Wedding rings mean nothing, both parties can as easily take them off and jump into bed with someone else .A really committed couple dont need rings to validate their pledge to one another, they just prove it by being faitful and respectful to themselves. |

tom28: 3 incidents in what,10 years? How many white male germans do you think have been killed in encounters with cops since those 10 years, probably three times or more as much, you really aren't helping yourself here.I'm willing to bet that if you stabbed a Chinese cop, they would shoot you,cut you up and use to make some well seasoned Chinese fried rice |

tom28: They never "insisted",slowpoke, there was no gun found on him when he died, have you ever heard of "police reports"? or "public records"?,The first officer yelled gun, while diallo was producing his wallet,he fired, and they all fired at the same time. So how does that play into your "big picture"?Get some knowledge,my friend. |

tom28: The difference in Diallos case is that 1)He did NOT have a gun 2)He did not attack the officers Until proven otherwise,we go by the facts, she had a knife and attacked, stabbed an officer. |

assetstrip: You should be the first one to get hanged, partner dont local police kill Nigerians everyday by "accidental discharge" I'll be more than happy to give you rope. tom28: Wrong, the officer was attacked and has right to defend up to and including use of deadly force, officers have been stabbed to death trying to sudue sujects with knives before, there is nothing new here, they followed protocol and someone is alive and another is dead, end of story. |

Car Talk / Re: Ever Been Mislead By A Car Advert? by kabukabu(m): 5:38am On May 22, 2011 |
Siena: Don't think I left any muddy footprints around here? Anyway,I did have one experience with a car dealer, some years back who sold me a car that had one of its injectors misfiring,I did not find out this till all the paperwork was done and I had taken the car home,He had advertised it as just been "serviced",which turned out to be a bogus lie. Well I broke down, had it towed to a shop, where I was given the news.Next day,I called the Better Business Bereau, consumer Reports agency and filed a claim with my local Used Car Dealers Association,I never got my money back, but his shop eventually got closed down. As a result,I go through car ads with a fine toothed comb, these days,to avoid such hassle. 1 Like |

I think that as Nigerian car buyers get access to more information via the web, they will become more discerning and equipped in making decisions about car buying, for example,VIN lookup, salvage history, odometer rollbacks. Another thing of concern is customization,Any seller demanding a premium price for a car that has aftermarket wheels, cosmetics like wings,DVD players, that are not factory istalled,is just wrong. .These add no value to new buyers unless its their particular taste,an old lady will not have any use for a DVD player in the car,and "wings" will not impress a lady with kids |
Car Talk / Re: Ever Been Mislead By A Car Advert? by kabukabu(m): 3:59pm On May 21, 2011 |
Few rules to always follow when car shopping. 1)If an ad is online, there has to be lots of pics,no excuses there, shows the seller is motivated. 2)Never do just a short test drive, ie from one end of the street to another, some cars may have suspension problems that are only exposed driving on long stretches, like a highway. 3)Do test drive it for a longer period, because some owners clear the service lights, these only light up when the engine gets warm. 4)Thoroughly examine body for fillers like bondo, wheel wells for rust and irregular gaps. 5)cosmetic parts on the car that dont match OE specs may show that the car has been wrecked previously. 6)Receipts for maintenance and parts replaced in the past. |
