Celebrities / Linda Ikeji & Dabota Lawson Throw Shades At Each Other Over Dark Knuckles by Kakakino(m): 12:21am On Sep 15, 2015

LOL!!! Lord be a dark knuckle remover!!!

Top blogger Linda Ikeji earlier today threw some shade at entrepreneur Dabota Lawson, calling her out on her dark knuckles situation.

Linda who recently launched her “I’d Rather Be Selfmade Foundation”, went to look for trouble when she posted screenshots from an Instagram video of Dabota Lawson and wrote,

"Looks to me like light skinned ladies have yet to find the solution to dark knuckles – why? I noticed Dabota Lawson Aku’s knuckles in a video she posted on her instagram page teaching people how to use her makeup. Doesn’t the creams they use work on knuckles?"

Lordtttt…the shade! What did Dabota do to Linda biko?!

Well Dabota received Linda’s shade & served hers right back. The billionaire wife took to her Instagram, were she also posted pictures of Ikeji saying that dark skin chicks like Linda also suffer from the dreaded dark knuckle/dark elbow issue. She then threw in some promo for skin lightening lotion.

See Dabota’s response below:

Lol! Now waiting to see what happens next.

Politics / South Africa's Tutu Discharged From Hospital After Treatment by Kakakino(m): 7:04pm On Sep 04, 2015
South African anti-apartheid activist and veteran cleric, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, has been discharged from hospital where he received an intravenous course of antibiotics over the past two weeks. The 83-year-old had been admitted to hospital for the second time in August for treatment of an "inflammation".

Tutu has been receiving treatment for a recurring infection unrelated to the prostate cancer he has been fighting for 18 years, his family has previously said.

A Nobel peace laureate who used the pulpit to preach against apartheid, retired from public life in 2010 but has kept speaking out in a wide range of issues, including corruption among South Africa's political elite. Atleast South Africans can relax now that he isn’t going the Mandela way yet.

Celebrities / Again? See What Cynthia Morgan And Burna Boy Were Caught Doing (photos) by Kakakino(m): 11:09am On Aug 31, 2015
The Nigerian dancehall queen, Cynthia Morgan, has kept her relationship status a secret until recently when rumours linked her with fellow dancehall singer, Burna Boy.

The two acts did little to deny the relationship as new confirmation emerged that they are having an affair.

The German Juice singer made social media go gaga last night when she posted photos of herself and the Port Harcourt born star kissing pa$$ionately on Instagram.
This came as a surprise to many of their fans as some sources claimed what they have is only a professional relationship and no strings attached.
Meanwhile a source close to Morgan disclosed that she was just teasing her fans to talk when she posted the pictures on Instagram.

As at the time of the report, no confirmation on the relationship has been made by both acts but time will surely tell if the relationship will go beyond the teasing stage.

Meanwhile, about a month ago Cynthia Morgan revealed in an interview that sex appeal is working for her and is part of her total package as a female artiste.

Politics / Nigeria, Chad, Cameroun, Others Sets To Spend $30 Million To Face Boko Haram War by Kakakino(m): 1:22am On Jun 12, 2015

An extraordinary meeting of Heads and Government of the Lake Chad Basin Commission and Benin has approved that Nigeria retains the position of the force commander in the war against Boko Haram until the end of the mission.

It also approved that the slot of the deputy force commander and chief of staff be rotated between Cameroun and Chad every twelve months.

Their decision followed an earlier rejection of a rotational six-month tenure of the Multi-National Joint Task Force’s Commander, by Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari.

Mr. Buhari suggested instead that Nigeria heads the force for the period of the war against the insurgents since it was providing the bulk of troops.

Mr. Buhari had earlier argued that such a process will undermine the military’s capacity to sustain the push against the insurgents “who also have the uncanny ability to adapt and rejig their operational strategies”.

“This command will be to the effectiveness of military strategy, since Nigeria will be providing the bulk of the troops and the main theatre of the war is on Nigerian soil,” he said.

A Nigerian, Tukur Buratai, a major general, had only last week been appointed the force commander of the Multi-National Joint Task Force,

The summit which held at the Presidential Conference Lodge of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja was attended by, Mahamadou Issoufou, President of Niger Republic; Idriss Deby, President of Chad; and Boni Yayi, President of Benin Republic.

The Cameroonian President, Paul Biya, was represented by Mebe Ngo’o Edgard Alain, minister delegate at the presidency in charge of Defence.

Deliberations at the summit focused on The Security Situation in the Lake Chad Basin, the Immediate Operationalization of the Multinational Joint Task Force and the Adoption of Emergency Development Plan.

They were preceded by a preparatory meeting of the Ministers of Defence, the Chiefs of Defence Staff and Heads of Security and Intelligence Services of the LCBC member States and Benin.

The heads of state and government of the LCBC and Benin Republic acknowledged with satisfaction the success recorded on military operations jointly conducted in the field by the coalition of the troops from Cameroun, Niger, Nigeria and Chad which have significantly broken down the military capability of Boko Haram terrorist group.

However, they agreed on the need to keep up the drive marked by solidarity in action by taking decisive measures in order to totally curb Boko Haram insurgency.

According to a communique released at the end of the one day summit, the Heads of State agreed on the need to support military operations with an emergency development plan in favour of vulnerable populations in the region in order to fight against the root causes of insecurity relating to poverty.

At the end of their deliberations, the Heads of State also approved the Concept of Operations Strategic and Operational and related documents of the MNJTF for the fight against Boko Haram terrorist group.

Approval was also given for the immediate deployment of the MNJTF HQ at N’Djamena (Chad) by implementing its human, logistic and financial requirements as well as the deployment of the national contingents to the MNJTF under the operational command of the MNJTF commander assisted by his joint headquarters by July 30, 2015.

The leaders also approved $30million for the installation and equipping of the MNJTF HQ.

MNJTF will require $30 million in the next one year to reduce terrorism in Nigeria’s north-east and neighboring countries to its barest minimum, the executive secretary of the Lake Chad Basin Commission, Sanusi Abdullahi, had said on Wednesday, at the end of a two-day meeting of the Ministers of Defence and top military officials of the LCBC, in Abuja.

The leaders approved the establishment of the executive secretariat as the headquarters of the mission and the executive secretary of the LCBC to be the head of mission.

It requested the African Union’s support to the MNJTF in its operations, logistics and general mission support; by mobilizing financial support.

The heads of state also resolved to seek the support of strategic partners, notably European Union, France, United Kingdom and United States of America in favour of the MNJTF.

It also requested the president of the UN Security Council to make a declarative statement in support of MNJTF Operations against the Boko Haram terrorist group.

The Emergency Plan for Development in the Lake Chad Basin, was also adopted at the summit.

Politics / President Buhari Rejects 252 Secret Service Officials Assigned To Aso Rock by Kakakino(m): 1:09am On Jun 12, 2015

President Muhammadu Buhari who yet to state the shape of his security details, through the authorities of the Presidential Villa, Abuja rejected about 253 officials from the Department of State Services who were transferred to the Presidential Villa.

On Wednesday, June 10, 2015 it was revealed that the affected security operatives were deployed from different state commands of the DSS across the country.

Redeployment signals had emerged from the service’s National Headquarters which instructed the officers to report at the Presidential Villa on Monday, June 1, 2015.

It was further learnt that the officials who were specifically instructed on where they would man in the Presidential Villa were obstructed and asked to turn back on arrival.

They were then advised to return to their respective former duty posts across the country the following day (Tuesday, June 2, 2015).

One of the affected DSS officials, who came for one of the states in the South_west, revealed on the condition of anonymity that all of them were left to their fate without any transfer allowance.

“The about 253 of us were redeployed from commands from across the country to the State House, Abuja. Our signals, which were sent from the headquarters, showed specifically where we are expected to work in the Presidential Villa.

“Some of us were asked to report to the Vice President’s office, some were attached to the President’s wife while some others were attached to the Vice President’s wife among other beats in the Villa.

“We were however turned back and were asked to resume back at our former duty posts the following day or risk sanction,” the DSS official said.

He said that while their deployment to the Presidential Villa was conveyed through signals, no other signal was given when they were directed to return to base.

He also disclosed that among the 253 of them, only just one official was asked by the headquarters to return to the villa.

The returned official was reported to be the security orderly one of the service’s senior officials in Abuja before he was transferred.

The DSS official added that another reason for the rejection was that they were told that their redeployment was unnecessary because President Buhari and Vice-President Osinbajo are yet to move into the Presidential Villa.

Marilyn Ogar, the DSS Deputy Director, when contacted, refused to comment on the matter.

“I don’t have such information and I cannot comment on it please,” she said.

Politics / Buhari "Snubs' Tinubu, Call Upon Jonathan, Others On Ministerial Appointments by Kakakino(m): 12:51am On Jun 12, 2015

As Nigerians anticipates the announcement of ministers in the newly inaugurated government of President Muhammadu Buhari, indications have emerged that the president has snubbed the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in short-listing names of competent Nigerians that would constitute his cabinet.

Sundiata Post reports that instead of doing the expected – liaise with the APC leadership, especially the party’s National Leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu – President Buhari has chosen to seek advice from immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan on those to make up the next Federal Executive Council (FEC).

Asides Jonathan, President Buhari is reportedly seeking advice from former leaders like Ibrahim Babangida, Abdulsalami Abubakar, Olusegun Obasanjo, Yakubu Gowon, and Shehu Shagari.

The report availed that President Buhari’s action was “leaked” last weekend when friends of the newly appointed Special Adviser to President Buhari on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, paid a “thank you” visit at the Defence House.

Further investigations reveal that President Buhari’s decision is as a result of some “unrealistic” demands from the former Lagos State Governor.

As expected, the decision has not gone down well with Tinubu and the APC party leadership who have been left in the dark as to major decisions of the new President.

After the said meeting, President Buhari was quoted as saying stick to the promise he made during his inaugural speech of “belonging to nobody” and running an all-inclusive government, although Tinubu and his APC cohorts would prefer to be “pilots of the Nigerian aircraft.”

Another anonymous source at President Buhari’s temporary residence, Defence House said: “Nigerians will be shocked when President Buhari completes the list of who becomes ministers, advisers and all other key positions in a few weeks.

“By the time the National Assembly receives the list, even Tinubu will be shocked because like the man said during the inauguration he is ready to work for everybody and nobody”.

Politics / War On Boko Haram: If I Were President Buhari – Christopher Godwin Akaba by Kakakino(m): 12:09am On Jun 08, 2015
If I were Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, after May 29th when I have been successfully sworn-in and assumed leadership of the country, I will re-declare a State of Emergency on Boko Haram.

Hold on.....please don't crucify me yet, just read on....

My type of State of Emergency will be different from that of Goodluck Jonathan's armed forces. I will NOT be declaring a state of emergency on Borno, Yobe or Adamawa or any state just to punish law-abiding innocent citizens. NEVER.

I will rather declare a State of Emergency on the entire armed forces in Nigeria. That is where the problem lies. All Brigadiers and Major Generals in the country would be booted out (if you want me to use the word 'retire' - so be it) to give way to a new set of incorruptible Generals.

I will then move ahead to disband the 7th Division of the Nigerian Army in the North-east and replace it with a Special Task Force and give it a 3-month marching order to end the insurgency, which I have earlier said "IS A FRAUD". (Apology to GMB).

The Special Task Force, shall comprise mainly of the best of my infantry soldiers, airforce personnel, mobile policeman and well-trained Civilian JTFs, who understands the terrain the terrorists operate in very well. The code-name for the operation shall be OPERATION UBANSU, which, primarily, centres on ATTACK rather than being on the DEFENSIVE.

Knowing full well that I shall be inheriting a demoralised and poorly-trained/equipped armed forces, I shall put my ego aside as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, by working with the strongest armed forces in the sub-region which is that of Chad, then with that of Niger and Cameroon, so that they could commence a decisive military push of Boko Haram elements from their end while the best of my gallant soldiers/Task Force squad shall push from here.

While the war is going on, my government will not hide anything from the outside world. We shall wage a brutal, yet an accountable war, on the enemies of the nation, where I shall personally ensure that salaries and allowances meant for soldiers on the front line are paid as at when due. By being accountable, I shall also show to Nigerians and the whole world the dead bodies of Boko Haram members killed on the battle front or faces of arrested members. If we say we killed 300 insurgents we would not hesitate to show their dead bodies to the entire world and give them mass burial. To hell with Amnesty International or Human Rights Watch. I shall not keep telling Nigerians that my military kill hundreds of terrorists yet no proof!

If, at all, our armed forces under my watch are conducting aerial reconnaissance or bombardment, I shall not tolerate my fighter pilots taking mere videos of fleeing terrorists and doing nothing; in fact, I want to see action; I want to see videos of my jets pounding or bombarding all terrorists' positions.

Finally, yes, finally finally, I shall make it a duty to visit my troops on the battlefield weekly to assess their operations, even if it means paying an unscheduled visit to my ground troops.

This piece is contributed by Christopher G. A., a social media commentator, and the views expressed above represents his personal opinion.

Politics / Why Buhari Barred VP Yemi Osinbajo From National Security Briefing by Kakakino(m): 10:44pm On Jun 07, 2015

President Muhammadu Buhari alleged exclusion of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo from attending a national security meeting this week was no longer new, nor is it any longer news.

Osinbajo was reportedly refused “security clearance” and “locked out” of Buhari’s first briefing with the national security adviser on the president’s orders.

Buhari allegedly excluded his vice president from the closed-door briefing due to security concerns over Osinbajo attending the “very sensitive meeting.”

Buhari apparently felt it was too early in the day to bring Osinbajo, the former Lagos state attorney general and senior pastor, into his first briefing with the security chief.

The exclusive meeting on Monday with National Security Adviser Sambo Dasuki and other security officials lasted for hours and was part of the “debriefing process”.

Buhari was informed on the security situation in Nigeria, where the Islamist militant group Boko Haram has killed and displaced thousands of people in the last six years.

“They need to brief the president on the security situation in their various areas. They need to update him officially on the situation on ground,” a presidential aide said.

The meeting comes after the president announced the relocation of the anti-insurgency command center from the capital city Abuja to Maiduguri, the Borno state capital that has suffered a series of deadly attacks in recent days including suicide bombings and a grenade bombardment.

More than 50 people have been killed in Maiduguri since Buhari was inaugurated on May 29. The president said the command center would remain in the Borno state capital until the insurgents were restrained.

“The command center will be relocated to Maiduguri and remain until Boko Haram is completely subdued.

“But we cannot claim to have defeated Boko Haram without rescuing the Chibok girls and all other innocent persons held hostage by insurgents,” Buhari said during his inauguration speech on May 29.

Prior to his inauguration, Buhari expressed dismay that former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration had withheld information and refused to brief the incoming government.

Celebrities / I Used To Beg For Money To Eat – Tonto Dikeh Revealed by Kakakino(m): 9:16am On May 31, 2015
There are many sides to everybody. For Tonto Dikeh, it seems the side that is well known is the wild one. Controversial as many may think this singer and actress is, she does have her subtle side and she laid it on the line for everyone to see in an Instagram post on Wednesday by telling whoever cares to listen her story of humble beginning.

I Used To Beg For Money To Eat – Tonto Dikeh “Growing up life was not easy, not after I lost my mom at the age of three. Though I thank my step mom for keeping up with my rudeness and stubbornness. Sometimes, I felt like killing myself but God saw me through that stage in my life and sometimes I sit and ask God why me?

At the age of twenty, I said to myself `I wouldn’t ask my dad for money- I wanted to be independent. I tried traveling to UK but I got refused at Nigerian Embassy, not because my documents were not complete but because I didn’t have the connection to pass through.

University life was so hard for me, handouts I could not afford, I begged from hand to mouth just to eat! Sometimes, I considered going back to my dad but ego and pride wouldn’t let me. Then, all my jeans were Alaba bend-down-select. If the jeans was longer than me I would cut it to my size to make it look rugged! If I asked friends for a favour, before they helped they would ask me to do something for them in return, like cleaning their rooms, or helping with course work”

Tonto then went on to advise her fans never to give up in their struggle to make it in life. For sometime now, Tonto has been engaging in a soft kind of motivational talks on social media, showing people there might be another side to the controversial figure we all hate to love.

“So I thank the great and mighty God, who has chosen me at this time by Himself to assist the President of this nation. His plan is to make Nigeria a nation that will be admired and respected amongst the nations of the earth by establishing .. and integrity.

By ensuring that corruption is eradicated and resources meant for all are not cornered by a few, but are used according to law, justice and equity for the benefit of all. The Lord wants a nation ruled only in accordance with law and justice where the guilty are punished and the good is rewarded. This links to President Muhammadu Buhari’s inaugural speech yesterday. Sure, you will agree that he emphasized these three clear designs of God” he said.

Politics / EXPOSED: The Secret Deal President Jonathan Made With Abacha's Family by Kakakino(m): 5:55pm On May 22, 2015
For allegedly helping their father plunder Nigeria of an estimated $5 billion in the 1990s, Mohammed and Abba Abacha, and other relatives of the late dictator, Sani Abacha, have been rewarded by the Nigerian government.

A secret deal between the government and the Abachas, wants the family to return part of the loot, in exchange for perpetual immunity against prosecution.

The deal, kept classified for months, was personally approved by President Goodluck Jonathan in July 2014, and jointly authored by the Attorney General, Mohammed Adoke.

The terms of the agreement, obtained by PREMIUM TIMES in March, have alarmed anti-corruption activists.

“The agreement is (also) a tragic triumph of impunity,” said The Berne Declaration, a Swiss nongovernmental organization, which for years has monitored efforts by the Nigerian government to recover hundreds of millions of dollars stashed by the former military ruler, and his family, in bank accounts across Europe, and America.

The agreement closes criminal proceedings for the plundering of the Nigerian treasury against the perpetrators and their accomplices, with the result that they go unpunished.

Foreign banks involved in the heist have also not been convicted of money laundering.

Worse, Swiss lawyers and other attorneys who helped facilitate the so-called out-of-court settlement, will pocket fees up to five per cent of all monies recovered from the family from banks in Switzerland and other countries. The government expressly agreed to pay one of the attorneys $28 million.

“This is all the more troubling because many of the banks involved have not been convicted of money laundering. It is equally incomprehensible that the Swiss lawyers involved may pocket up to 7 percent of the sum for their services, as this money belongs to the Nigerian population,” Berne Declaration said.

The base of the agreement is for the Abacha family to cooperate with federal authorities to have the stolen funds repatriated, in exchange for clemency.

On receipt of the assets, Nigeria will “end any and all legal proceedings and investigations against the settling parties (referring to the Abacha family)”.

The government will “recognise” properties owned by the family in Nigeria, the agreement says.

“The FRN (Federal Republic of Nigeria) will withdraw any and all civil proceedings against the settling parties,” one clause in the agreement states.

Another clause says, “The FRN will end, without any finding of liability or guilt, any and all proceedings of whatever kind including criminal, civil or administrative proceedings contemplated or pending in any court in Nigeria (including in relation to forfeiture and or restraint) relating to or arising out of any investigations into the resolved matter, …”.

“The FRN will provide to any government, authority or organisation, where necessary, information, clearance or such other documentation or support as may be required by any or all of the Settling Parties to ensure and guarantee unrestricted movement in and out of Nigeria or in any other state or country,” another clause adds.

As Nigeria’s military leader between 1993 and 1998, Mr. Abacha stashed away billions of dollars of public funds in various accounts abroad.

Transparency International estimates $5 billion was stolen.

The money include those in three accounts at HSBC Bank Plc, one in Standard Bank Plc in England; five accounts in Cítibank Private Bank of London; one account in Deutsche Bank International Ltd, in Jersey, United States; three accounts in Banque SBA SA and one in Standard Alliance Corporation in France.

There are also funds in nine accounts in Luxemburg and Liechtenstein totaling about $248.64 million and Euros179.14 million, which was transferred to the Bank for International Settlements (BI) in 2014.

In June 2014, Liechtenstein agreed to return $227m, while the U.S. froze some $458m hidden by Abacha in bank accounts.

Switzerland had earlier returned some $700m. By March 2015, the country agreed to return a further $380m.

The recovery of the money had been blocked by legal action brought by companies linked to members of the Abacha family.

The government’s initial charges against Abacha’s oldest son, Mohammed Abacha, was for unlawfully receiving government money from his father.

The Nigerian government agreed to the secret deal as a sort of plea bargain, to have the Abacha family drop its case, and allow the money to be repatriated.

Geneva prosecutors had also closed their own case against the Abacha.

Anti-corruption activists argue that granting immunity to those who helped in stealing the country blind will only embolden others to do worse.

They also question why the Nigerian government failed to lay clearly as part of the agreement how recovered money will be applied from the benefit of Nigerians.

“The agreement between Nigeria and the Abacha family, approved by the Public Prosecutor in Geneva, does not contain a single provision to ensure that the returned money will be of benefit to the Nigerian people from whom it was stolen in the nineties and who continue to suffer endemic corruption,” Bernes Declaration said.

“The entire arrangement is questionable,” said David Ugolor of the Africa Network for Environment and Economic Justice. “We must let Switzerland see the need to suspend further decision on the return of the money stolen by Abacha until all the terms are clearly established in a manner that would really benefit Nigerians.”

Anchored by Attorney General Adoke, the agreement compels the Federal Government to withdraw all pending cases against any member of the Abacha family at home and abroad, while all organs of government, including the National Assembly, were barred from asking questions with the intention of recovering the stolen wealth.

Also, the deal forbids the government from taking any action to limit the constitutional rights, including freedom of movement of the Abachas within and outside Nigeria and right to property, in connection with the theft.

Mohammed and Abba Abacha represented the Abacha family in the negotiations, which also involved international brokers.

Mr. Adoke represented Nigeria on the instructions of President Jonathan.

“I hereby confirm that the Honourable Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Mohammed Adoke SAN CFR, has full authority to contract in that capacity in relation to the Repatriation Agreement between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Alhaji Mohammed Sani Abacha and Alhaji Abba Abacha,” the president wrote.

As part of the agreement, Nigeria will pay four per cent of the sums recovered and repatriated to Nigeria to Swiss agent, Enrico Monfrini of Monfrini, Crettol & Associe, which also entitled to another $5 million for litigation expenses.

Another 2.8 percent of the recovered or repatriated sum was agreed to be paid Christian Luscher of CMS Von Erlach Poncet Ltd (subject to a cap of $28million), while the Abacha are expected to settle the legal fees of their appointed agent, Nicola Boulton, of Byrne and Partners of London.

Celebrities / EXPOSED: In This Restaurant, The Shorter Your Skirt The Cheaper Your Meal -PHOTO by Kakakino(m): 11:54am On May 21, 2015
In a bid to improve sales, a Chinese restaurant recently ran a special promotion – they offered discounts to female customers based on the length of their skirts. The shorter the skirt, the heavier the discount! The amount of skin-show upwards of the knee was measured upon arrival, and the discount percentage was determined accordingly.

The promotion, which ran all of last week at Yang Jia Hot Pot restaurant in Jinan, was a huge success. Hordes of women lined up outside the establishment, waiting to have their skirts measured. The highest hemline recorded was 13 inches above the knee, attracting a huge 90-percent discount. The lowest was at three inches, earning a 20 percent saving.

Eason Yang, founder of Yang Jia Hot Pot, said that the promotion was important because this happens to be the “low-season” for hot pot restaurants. “We wanted to start a promotional campaign that could attract our core audience,” he explained. “Our restaurant has opened for five months. We have one special promotion every month. We wanted these promotions to bring good sales to us.” Given the success of the hemline promotion, the restaurant plans to run it again later this month – on May 23 and 24.

This isn’t the first time we’re seeing a Chinese restaurant adopt risqué marketing strategies. Earlier this year, a Korean establishment in Zhengzhou city offered free meals to women who were judged to be among the five most beautiful patrons of the day. Guess who the judges were. Plastic surgeons!
