Serious blazes......

Its this same adherence to outdated behaviours that kept we, the Africans, seriously lagging behind in every human indices of development. We tenaciously stick to archaic cultures and refuse to adopt other aspects of other people's culture that had improved their system.

Seriously, i wish our generation, would drop everythang stupidly African and embrace the sciento-technic culture that peoples of Japan and south Korea did.

Have we ever wondered why african did not develop like every other continent colonized by europeans? Have we?
Apart from corruption ( which also stems from our culture of grabbing public money fro extended family) , what else do u think is dragging us down? Is it the genetics of the Negro race? nah! We know what it is
what has kept Africa lagging behind is our lack of self realization. We can't go higher than the people we imitate.

Bear in mind that in some parts of igboland then (don't know about now), it was common to ask a recently widowed woman to drink the bath water of the deceased husband just to prove she didn't have a hand in her husband's death.

This happened to my neighbour. She lost her husband and was asked to drink the bathwater of his corpse but she didn't affirm whether she drank it or not.

That's why Africa and Nigeria in particular is still in the 13th century.

Is it your dead body?? Person wey get dead body don bury am, wetin concern you? Was his father a part of his life? Did his father even know what life was like for the boy growing up? Did his father care about him?
Allow that boy to rest in his grave.

You're here saying its un-igbo, is it not also un-igbo to go to church? Didn't the white man introduce Christianity to us? Don't go to church then, or use phones or the internet cuz they're all un-igbo.

#DoubleWahalaForDeadBody.

What makes you an 'Igbo' or 'Yoruba' is not the tag. It goes beyond that. At first, we are all humans, the distinguishing factor is rooted in our culture and diversity. It's your culture that lays credence to whatever tag you choose to place on yourself. One can't be claiming an Igbo, when his way of life (culture) finds compatibility more with the western ways. It's contradictory. It could be captured as identity crisis. I may not want to lose my sense of reality by too much subscribing to the idealism of feminism.
For the fact, proper appreciation of Igbo system will expose you to the truth that the system favours no gender more than the other; the igbo system that barred women from eating the gizzard also barred the man from eating the waist of the cock. This shows that everyone is favoured in a particular area. But, it's quite unfortunate that some ladies in their overbearing nature would want the world to view it from the angle where they're not much favoured, the angle where they're barred from eating the gizzard. I wouldn't know whether to term it 'mischief' at best. The igbo woman gets the favour of being honoured in two places, the maiden and matrimonial home during burials. In my side of igbo land, Ezinfite, we have a culture called "ibu-ozu nwa ada" which can be loosely translated in English as "carrying the daughters corpse". This is one of the rites performed for a lady by her kinsmen during her funeral, whereby, the men will go to her matrimonial place singing dirges to tell the people that they've come to carry their daughter. Upon going back, they will be given one cow and two goats (male and female). Back at their place, they will organise burial for the woman.
This shows the level of honour which a lady gets in igbo system, even at death. Hardly would the decisions of the "nwa-adas" (married daughters) be argued on controversial issues. We are always meant to believe that the system is all out to suppress one gender for another, especially, when one wants to enjoy its own side of the favour.
It's igbo culture that children should be buried in their father's place. Children cannot be buried anywhere because we respect corpse. We don't have the culture of burying people in cemeteries and any place buried u outside the father's place is more like a person buried in the cemetery.
It's contradictory to support the recent act of Stella Odua and his people, while you still claim to be igbo. It's those cultures which said that children should be buried in their father's place that made us igbos. If we drop those cultures, then we've dropped the igbo in us all. We must all stand to condemn this act, just as we condemn every act aimed at suppressing the rights of igbo women.

No doubt ,Anambra is doing very well in education but our target and dream is to reach the international standard and pull 85% in waec exams . And that should be our basic : Obiano hasn't done much in education because the successes he is taking the praise of was masterminded by Obi. We need to keep training and retraining teachers, upgrading our learning environments for the comforts of our children. We must also keep closing substandard private schools and build more to accommodate everyone. There is A lot of foundation works still need to be done in Anambra before we can claim "developed".

Osebuluwa nonyelu Omanbala nnem!
nwanne, I've got some aunties who are married to imo people but we're employed here in anambra when obi recruited teachers of anambra origin here in the state. Seriously, this people are always greeted with august guests every week who come to check their performance in the class always. Their lesson notes are always checked and they regularly visit awka and ukpor for little trainings. No secondary school in anambra state lacks cyber facilities provided for them by the obi's admin. I think obiano is trying to adopt a sycophantic approach to governance cos obi created heavens for him. He's just moving about from one media house to another and also fitting billboards all around the state to praise himself on another person's glory

Lagos produced more votes in the governorship election than the much more tough presidential election. There was low turn out in the governorship cos most people especially didn't bother going for the election since presidential has demoralised them yet this same election produced more votes than presidential.
Politics / The Stupidity Of Hate by kasiem(m): 11:27am On May 07, 2015
Like every human we were brought into the world with unique features. No one can write about how he originated into the world cos all that we believe ourselves to be is originated from all the fallacies we've been stereotyped with right from our developmental stage by the people around. They tell us we are Christians and we are from a particular tribe and family, accordingly we shape and define our lives along that line. Were we adopted, picked from a gutter, gotten through insemination or born by other people from other religious divide, we wouldn't know and wouldn't ask such cos we are comfortable with all the fairy tales of what they meant us to believe about our being. The only sure and standing fact that wouldn't need anyone to tell us about remains the fact we are humans, funnily, we place less value on this fact over the tales and stereotypes hoodwinked us with right from the developmental stage of our existence. Immediately we become conscious of the fact that we are from a particular religious divide, tribe, social strata, etc we start viewing the others from opposite divide with scorn. It feels wonderful to as a christian to see all others outside ur faith as sinners and avoided in order to make heavens, same way a Muslim will love to hate all others as infidels and need be given a jihad treatment. The tribe we come from determines our humanity instead of our humanity determining our tribes, everyone would love to maintain his acclaimed social strata to avoid going out of the stereotype built in him. Unfortunately, no one can tell about the sperm that brought him or her into the world. You see someone who was brought into the world with the world with a poor hausa man's sperm hating hausa people with passion just because he was adopted into an igbo family from a motherless home and given the stereotype that he's an igbo and as a christian so should be mindful of his dealing with people of different, and he wouldn't be found dealing with a pauper. That's the silly nature of hate which is prevalent in the world. The moment we do away with all the stereotypes implanted in us from our developmental stage and define our lives with the clear fact of being humans before anything else, humanity will see the wonders of love. You being born into a rich family is not a right, it's a privilege cos u didn't create yourself so no point treating the poor ones that came into the world with the privilege of penury as no humans. Chief, the child you are killing and stealing to give a better life, thereby depriving other children their little stipends, was not brought into ur family cos u moulded ur sperm very well rather it's a privilege and that poor child that's dying of hunger somewhere else could've been your child. So help humanity by treating everyone with that love u can give to someone. Let's build humanity with love.

Good morning fellow Nigerians.

I have repeatedly reminded many that I, Ahmadu Adamu Muazu have been in the PDP since 1999 as a matter of principle & strong ideology.

Those who insinuate that I did not do my best for our great party & Mr. President during election are being economical with the truth.

In the face of abuse, insult & open ridicule by our friends & brothers we supported our leader President Jonathan faithfully.

I gave my best & all to the campaign of Mr. President & the party. We went to every state in Nigeria to campaign.

The perception of President Jonathan & our party in the north was at an all time low because of the lies they were told by politicians.

Those who blame us for not delivering maximum votes to the president in the north seem to have forgotten that it's the people who vote.

I have always preached against ethnicity & tribalism & the voting pattern in the election was a concern to me personally. I will support President Jonathan again & again if the opportunity presents itself.

The unity of Nigeria to me is greater than sectional or ethnic interests. I can never regret supporting our leader President Jonathan. If I had my way, everyone in my state "Bauchi" would have voted for President Jonathan but it's the people that vote not me.

If we must reform our party then we must begin by finding real solutions. Those who are pointing accusing fingers will not help us. Some even ridicule & insult us that we betrayed President Jonathan. How can one betray himself?

Those who are busy pointing accusing fingers are yet to come to the realization of what has happened but we have gone beyond that. For those who are wishing that I will either decamp or resign, I advice you to kindly stop wishful thinking. We have a party to lead.

The APC has nothing to offer someone like me. I am too principled to betray my party. I have been here since 1999. But things will change now. Power truly belongs to the people & we are giving it back to them.

I am willing to work with all members & organs of our great party to begin a new journey of trust & sincerity with the Nigerian people. In few days time, I will be setting up a communication mechanism through which Nigerians can better communicate with us.

We must provide a responsible & credible opposition to the incoming government. Together Nigeria will be great.

We've exhausted all the praises that words can express but we know you deserve more than it, thankfully, those that deceived the world with lies about you are indirectly confessing on your the difficulties you faced and the extent u gallantly fought them. They claimed that we are not having 24hrs power supply cos of ur incompetence but now they are telling us how difficult it will be to achieve such a feat. Even oby that called u a corrupt leader has now confessed that under u a systematic approach towards curbing the corruption got us improve in the fight against corruption. I've always doubted the efficacy of posterity in this rugged and crude world filled with propaganda but now the way things are going in justification of ur service to humanity is giving me a hope. Thanks Mr president for what you've done and the one you will keep doing as a UN envoy

Ur points are foolish but want to focus on the first. Borno has been under emergency for years. This simply means that the security of lives and properties of that state is strictly jonah-daft business. Soldiers were bought in primarily to act. What powers does SHETTIMA has over soldiers? Can he even order an ordinarily soldier against that which abuja has instructed?
The moment the state became under emergency, he seizes to become the chief security officer and fg takes that responsibility. Infact it's as bad as the military officers guarding SHETTIMA can't even be boss around by him but their superiors at the barracks. It's foolish to call such a person the chief security officer of the state. What tools does he have to actualize this supposed mandate?
Even at that, the state government still assisted in funding the military in the state by buying vehicles, accommodation for military personnel, liason with the civilian population etc surely security funds went for such.
Chibok is primarily abuja business because they were in charge of the state and not SHETTIMA as regards security. Only if they have been responsive from day 1 when it occurred, we won't be where we are today. Even when the state govt claimed they had info about them, the fools in Abuja didn't even want to believe that it happened. Some remnant fools still claim till date that it's a scam.
oga, what's the essence of security votes which shettima collects? Is it for smoking? Okay, oga why did shettima go against instructions and opened schools resulting to the abduction? Was the emergency an absolute one?
