Good day everyone. It's with a deep sense of loss that we have lost someone so dear to us and our consolation is that she is resting in the bosom of the Lord.
As some of us have suggested, i would want to take up the task of continuing our sewing tutorials voluntarily on this thread. I personally benefitted a lot from this selfless lady. May her soul rest in perfect peace. Amen
So if you are game, please indicate by dropping a comment.

Family / Re: Where Did You Meet Your Spouse? by kemesty(f): 8:35pm On Jan 18, 2015
Reading through these love stories cause butterflies stirs in my tummy. So here is mine.
Being the hardworking and independent person i have been, i usually do holiday jobs just to raise money for school fees as my parents are as rich as Dangote.
This time, i got a job as a waitress in a restaurant and doubles as a cashier too. Here comes in this tall, dark, and handsome bobo. I served in the ice cream section that day as the person in charge of that section did not come to work due to health reason (thank God sef ).
This bobo bought a few cups and was begging for 'jara' with all seriousness. It was kinda funny as it was unusual. I gave him the 'jara' he requested and we got talking and exchanged contacts.
He later called as promised and inquired what a gorgeous lady like me was doing there without being in school. I explained to him that i was in my year two in the university.
Like a joke, we became friends and called me often. He returned to his base cos he said he only came for a project.
The whole thing naturally grew into a relationship and we became inseparable. We met in Nov 2008 , by may 2009, we were engaged and by August 22nd 2009, we both walked down the aisle. We haved two kids(a boy and a girl).
He is a brother, my motivator , backbone, my bestie. He has really helped to grow my dreams, he is so soft and supports me in every way.
I will marry him over and again. I love you my sweetie.

Mamatwo, from my previous explanation, i said you should always cut while your fabric is on fold. It simply means after cutting for the centre bust, you should cut the sides on fold such that when you open ,it is two. I don't know if you understand. You can still go back to read up my previous posts.
Please where is everyone? You are not showing any sign that you are with us. Please mark present and show your work in progress.
We need to fix the sleeves and conclude on this project so that we can move on. Do not be discouraged.

Here are more images for cutting a peplum. For clarity purposes.
Put your pieces together and sew. Join the peplum to your half lenght blouse.

The back panel is straight, just add dart allowance and zip allowance. The line on the image at 5" mark is the dart line, i 'm using half inch for the zip allowance.
For the peplum, fold your fabric into four parts, divide your waist by 4. Mine is 37÷4, then add sewing and zip allowance cos your zip will run through, else ,you won't be able to wear the dress. And cut out.
Measure the lenght of the peplum. That is ( length of entire blouse minus the half length of the blouse you have cut. (26-16)=10 + sewing allowance.
P.s: cut your peplum in circular pattern as shown in the image.

Numbers 1, 2 and 3 refers to bustline, under bust and half length respectively.
I usually advise my students to always cut out first with lining so that, in any case of mistake, you can easily correct it unlike when it is done on your main fabric. Here are my lining images. The front centre panel and front sides panel. Always cut your fabric on fold so you can achieve uniformity and professional touch.
Meanwhile, before you cut your fabrics, check out the patterns and directions in which it runs so that your creative gene can bring out nice designs even before officially embellishing your constructed fabric with some notions and trims.
Sorry for the long story, teaching fashion is my passion. I always take my time. Though there's more for you to learn.
These images are the entire front panel.
So the difference here is that you put your tape to measure from 1 ,i.e, shoulder is inclusive before you trim out your neck design.

I'm using a different fabric this time cos i completed the project with the other fabric i submitted here.
For me not to have two completely similar style, i am going to add a little twist.
Firstly, i will start my measurement from the 3.5" mark, that means i'm going to create a shoulder for the blouse.
Secondly, the peplum at my back will be a little longer than the front's.
Please bear with me cos i patiently explain each step so you understand. It is not how far but how well. This is what i always tell my students. That's why they always say even a toddler can learn fashion and designing from me and become a pro.
Back to business, when i mean i 'm going to create a shoulder, check from this image.

There are several methods in cutting breast-cut. I particularly chose this one cos it's easier to understand, ensures accuracy on both ends of the cut, and allows for colour blocking, patch- work or whatever you wish to do.

Hello everyone
I am soo sorry for being absent for a long time. I have been in a planet called the 'busy christmas planet'. My data expired but didn't realise. Please forgive me. My major challenge is presenting pictures at thus period but will definitely try.
From the last explanation, like I said, we only cut for the centre front, we still have the two front sides and the back panel to cut.
I will go over it again so we don't loose touch with the last lesson. Thank you for your understanding.

Hello
Thanks @ Bimbam. We are all in it together. Like she rightly said, what i last explained is the center panel of the bosom cut. There are additional two panels which lie at the other sides ( left and right) of the center panel.
For the side panels, take the cut out center panel and place on your folded fabric and cut through such that when you sew them together, you will have your perfect bust cut.
Then you can pin pieces together so you can now measure out your bust ( ÷4) , underbust and waist ( all divided by 4) , add 1.5" sewing allowance.
Use your front panel to cut out the back panel of the blouse , do not forget to include your zip allowance (1").
To temporarily cut your arm hole, i say this cos you would still trim your arm hole later, maesure out your shoulder, like mine is 16", divide by 2, that is 8, plus 0.5" allowance cut out your arm hole.
My neck depth is 6 while my neck width is 8, i will divide my neck width by 2, that is 4 since my fabric is on fold, then make my circular neck design.
If you desire a square, or sweetheart shape, then cut accordingly.
