Hello, I am going to uni of glasgow by january, how can I get your contact?
chieftekena: Hello house! I want to apprc8 and thank everyone who has been contributing positively to this thread, especially Justwise and co. I have bn going thru ur posts for more than a month now, and i must confess that these posts and comments have contributed immense to my success story. To God be the glory, i just recieved my Visa this evening thru UPS (togeda wit that of my dependants: wife nd Son). Our status changed on friday to "Processed application sent to UPS on...", and without any text msg frm VFS, up till now. I was initially jittery wen i saw the status msg. This is because sumwia on this thread, some pple tried to compare msgs that come with an approval nd a refusal of Visa applictns. B4 nw i was made to blive dat "processed passports..." has a high likelihood for approval and "processed application..." has a high likelihood for refusal. This is to discredit those notions, especially for intended applicants to avoid any high BP b4 u lay hands on ur passports. I am heading to the Uni of Glasgow. Any NLander there or heading there in the house please...?

dualprince:

I totally disagree with u on this. We all know dat things have not been done the right way in this country for as long as it existed but that does not give anyone the opportunity to hide in darkness and shoot arrows into light. The reason is dis, I know pple dat we were in dis struggle 2geda n did not get upto 70 bt scored above 65 and were shortlisted without pressing any buttons at all... I am an example although I scored above 70 I don't any one and I was given the award. Summarily, with the situation u just painted, its one of two things that happened:

(1) Ur guy did not score up to 65. If he did, he should paste his text from cinfores here let's see.
(2) The criteria used for shortlisting may not av favored him which is not unusaual as such is life. In dis case for example... Dere may be many pple in his discipline who scored far above him... Pple like pearl adams n co... Lolz
So please we nid 2 make ur findings well before talking if we don't want to damage the unity of this country with our unpatriotic behaviors.
Finally, I want every fairly shortlisted pressid awardee to counter dis blackmail in order to protect their integrity. As for me, I got PRESSID fair n square by the grace of God that was sufficient for me. I rest my case.
Well I don't want to raise dust but I believed grads from engineering were the top scorers in the test. I scored 64 but didn't make it while someone that scored 65 from the same discipline made it. That's a fair comparison right? But what happened to another candidate from same disciplline with a score of 71? That leaves so much question unanswered. I think NUC had better come out to disclose the criteria used for the selection. As regards the issue of corruption and selection, I quite agree cos someone just told me of how his friend pressed the necessary button to secure the scholarship. You can never take that away from anything in Nigeria if you still love your job cos the powers that put you there will still have a say in whatever you do.

yea I have applied for both ATAS and UCAS. I have other documents already. Learnt there would be an interview before the final scholars are selected.

Nkematics: I wonder why the federal government can't sponsor all the First Class graduates within the specified courses to do their postgraduate studies (at least up to masters)? That should be a plausible way of encouraging and rewarding these erudite men and women to continue to do well in their fields. If Delta state could give 5 million naira to each of the first class graduates in the state......about 47 of them......should sending 449 candidates be so difficult for the nation? The inauguration of PRESSID is laudable, but not enough. Moreover, most first class graduates in the nation can't even get employed in some companies. A friend I met during the aptitude test who made first class in Microbiology is currently a trainee in UBA (banking sector). If he could be experiencing this kind of problem, what happens to those with 2:1 and below?

May God help us in this country!
Best wishes to every one here that wrote the aptitude test. Let us meet at the top!!!!

God bless you o my sister. If PTDF as at 2010 can sponsor more than 500 for msc abroad, I don't know why FG can't sponsor just 449. I am sure some of us will secure Phd scholarship over there just if only we can get the opportunity for our msc abroad. I weep for my country Naija. Only God knows when we will get it right.

607 views and only 26 comments. Hmmmn. But on a more serious note federal goverment has the capacity to sponsor all of us for msc at least. If ptdf can sponsor more than 500 as at 2010 I don't think 449 candidates should be a problem for the FG.

logbon72: I'm not sure of the slot thingy with Course, but I'm very sure it's not based on state. i saw the guys that scored 88, and seriously the exam wasn't difficult, but I can accept that it was not a true test of one's knowledge.
so it wasn't only a single person that scored 88
Education / Re: Pressid Scholarship Aptitude Test Scores - First Class Graduates by kennyone: 9:35am On Aug 14, 2012
Nkematics: The test was really tough. It wasn't a true test of knowledge. I was only able to get 55. Lets see how they will do the selection. A lady in NUC once told me that the selection will be based on state or geo political zone and the course of study. For every course, there is a limited number of candidates to chosse. For example,if only 5 candidates were to be picked for Microbiology course, the five will be picked from the best Microbiology applicants from different zones. Lets pray that we get nominated
it can't be on a state by state basis because some states were not even represented at the test at all. I still agree with the fact that it could be based on the no required for each course.

Guys, D aptitude is one sided. Too much of Road signs questions.
Abeg wetin be d pass mark for ogun state, I scored well over 50
well that's true. Those who were in road safety cds while serving would do better. Its not about state by state. The cut off would be general and all those who meet it will be selected. Not minding if they are all from the same state.

Physical science actually. It is the same 4 evryone I guess but really I dnt knw the format it will take. I'll prefer to have a discipline-based test rather than some GMAT, verbal reasoning and stuff like that. All I knw is that I'll prepare wit whtever material am able to lay my hands on. I'll put the rest in Gods hands
ok bro. But as you know we have a whole lot of disciplines involved, their is tendency it would be general questions. Anyways open your mind and be flexible. Best of luck to everyone writing the test.
