Your argument so far says it is the best, because you have the nerve to compare it to the best. And yes i am a slave. I am a slave to freedom, quality life, respect and fulfillment. I'd rather be a slave to these things than be a "free" man in Nigeria. Smh. What a thought process. No wonder Nigeria has been moving backwards for half a century. What with people like you existing in it.

1. I never compared the Nigerian army to any army. You did that, with the intention of ridiculing our boys. I merely called you out on it.

2. Is the US army really the best, or the best equipped?

3. Your definition of freedom is the absence of struggles? i'd love to know which school taught you that.

4. The stark difference between you and i is that i would rather stay, live, fight and die to make Nigeria work. You would rather sell your hide, live, fight and die for a few morsels of bread in a foreign land. That is your choice. Good for you.

Now that everyone who visits this thread can see for themselves what the US army does with it's free time, you can stay here and keep ranting to yourself. Sell-sword.

Spending months in the U.S is not adequate. If at all you ever did. I find it hard to believe based on your argument so far. You need to visit everywhere and compare. That is the point.

Like i care what you find or do not find hard to believe?

So there is 24 hrs electricity in the US, and not one single road has a single pothole, what has that got to do with the level of professionalism of the US military and it's soldiers?

And i also said i grew up in a military household. At least read the whole thing na. And the connection between electricity and pot holes is the way you think as a people. To you, the Nigerian army is the standard. It is not. Just like if you got more electricity in your homes but not all day would be standard to you. Let me shock you. The standard is to have electricity 24 hrs a day, everyday. I am trying to connect your way of thinking, which is substandard. The fact that you cannot understand this proves my point. If you can think the Nigerian army is the standard, what other substandard thing do you approve of?

Your combination of a lack of comprehension and condescension is startling. I almost feel sorry for you.

Where have i ever for once posted that the Nigerian Army is the best or is the standard? It is you who is doing just that, and i am here showing you that the US army does not measure up to the standard you would like to pretend that it does.

In fact, i am sorry for you. I would rather choose my Nigeria with all her deficiencies, than be a slave in the US army.

This is just a piece of advice for you. Since you obviously don't know or are oblivious to what is going on around you, i would suggest you start traveling. Start with Ghana and then progress from there. You don't know which is why the substandard is standard for you. Once you start exploring, you will be amazed and realize how crappy Nigeria is and the way you do/perceive things. Your life will never be the same again. That or pick up a real book and start reading. Google is not always your friend.

Yes, you have to take recourse to the usual fall-back argument most of you pompous elements with a misplaced sense of superiority take: travel out. Just shut your mouth you ignorant sell-sword.

I have lived for months on end in the US and other countries, and even have a close pal in the US army. The same US where a grown man older than i am was begging me for money for food. You must think we all have inferiority complex like you.

The difference is the US millitary commits crimes in the course of war against percieved enemies.
The Nigerian soldiers willl commit crimes aginst the same people they are supposed to protect. I dont need to go far even on this forum you hear them talking shìt and bragging about it all the time

A crime is a crime. A person who can commit a crime against a perceived enemy will also be able to justify committing a crime against any other person. The only real difference is that due to our unique security situation, Nigerian soldiers get to interact with the populace, whereas American law makes it illegitimate to use US military forces on US soil.

But when you take a look at US law enforcement, you realize that their pattern of behavior is exactly the same, and this is why we have what is known as the "black lives matter movement fighting for the lives of black people today.

And back to the US army, these are people who actually rape and kill themselves, with several documented cases of female soldiers reporting abuse, getting killed, and then having their cases buried.

Nigerian army is probably not perfect because it is made f human beings but i will not allow some sell-sword come here and spout off when the master he serves is little better.

Like i said, your standards are adequate for what Nigeria provides. If you receive electricity 60 hrs a week you will be satisfied. If the police show up one hour after a robbery incident, you will be ok. If there are pot holes on half a road, your argument will be "at least it is not all of the road". Nigerians are deaf, dumb and blind to their condition and the lowest standard is adequate enough for them, hence why would you be defending the indefensible? How anyone can be defending the Nigerian military is mind boggling to me.

coming after you have just confessed that you have never encountered the Nigerian army, what do you know about them. Stick to the point and stop changing the goal posts. What on earth does electricity and pot holes have to do with what we are talking about? We are talking about the army and i have countered every single point you raised.

Take a look at your so called professional and disciplined army at work.

Most Nigerians do not understand the meaning of the word "discipline". Which is why you throw it around so flippantly. Dude, are you for real? Just last week a cadet in the army was hazed to death and the chief of army staff was defending it publicly. Bros, Nairalanders are laughing at your argument because everyone seems to know what you don't know. I guess maybe your standards are adequate for what Nigeria provides.

btw the Chief of army staff never defended said "hazing" which we do not know for a fact occurred. What happened in fact is that the chief of armys taff DENIED that said incident occurred as was reported. Why are you such a blatant hypocrite?

and btw where are the laughing nairalanders, you sell-sword?

I honestly do hope you can comprehend the quote below;

"Any serious mistake on your part could land you in jail for a very long time. And if you decide you want to do you own thing and not follow the rules, they will kick you out with a dishonorable discharge which means finding employment in the civilian world will be very difficult for you. Even walmart wouldn't hire you".

Why would i have said that if not for the fact that a select few have done that before? I surely do hope you are not arguing for the sake of it. The mere fact that you had something to find proves that we hold everyone accountable. You can't get away with stu.pid shiit in the army unlike in Nigeria. Everyone knows the Nigerian military is bad but can you find anything of youtube showing where one of them is held accountable for his/her actions?

@ the bolded, in what way does this make the US military different from any military anywhere in the world?

You want evidence of discipline in the Nigerian Military, here is some:

For a 20 years old girl to get married, is it right? .......... According the her parents, the guy came when she who just 18 years and still in secondary school but was rejected by the parents bcoz she was underaged and still in ss3 .

Then after 2 years the guy came back again and still begs the parents to marry her but she had wrote jamb this year and is still waiting for the screening and admission to commence. The only reason that guy wanted to get married to the girl is because he said that he like natural fair skin ladies, intelligent and from the same village ( home town ). He had promised her that he would take care of her education when married to her . From the parents view, the guy is from a very good home.

They asks my opinion on the matter and what I thought is that the girl has not matured enough. I hadn't reply to the parents so I seek to get information first before replying. .

The girl in question is my little sister. .. Please I need advice from married or someone that has an experience of it. .. Please

for the reason he wants to marry your sister, it is his maturity i am worried about, not hers

Read through my comments. You will find that i have already said what will happen to soldiers who go against our rules. People will always do s.tupid shiit which is why there are rules in the first place. And i don't have to give the Nigerian military a bad name. It does it all by itself.

No one said you could give the Nigerian army a bad name. You are not capable of doing that.

You clearly stated that US soldiers act in a certain way, and now that i have shown you evidence of the horrible behavior of Us military personnel, you are saying that some people will always do stupid things.

But if you know that, then why is it that when a few Nigerian soldiers do some stupid things, you use that as an excuse to attempt to ridicule the entire Nigerian army, which you have already confessed to never having encountered?

The point is blatantly obvious that whatever you can accuse the Nigerian army of doing, the US and its various security bodies and agencies have done far, far worse.

It is on Record that the US remains the only western nation which maintains terror facilities, even going as far as to establish them outside US borders in order to beat their very own US laws.

You are first of all a hypocrite. And second of all you are a sell-sword.

pippimp:

I have not had the opportunity of mingling with Nigerian Soldiers since joining but i grew up in a military household. From what i've seen and heard, it is no different from when i was growing up. They lack discipline, professionalism, and pride. I don't really blame them though. They are using the tools provided to them. Worse still is the fact that they think like the every day Nigerian. They are supposed to be better and live with a higher standard. In the army, if a civilian should slap one of us, guess what we would do? We just walk away. Can you believe that. We are taught that we serve them and are better than them so just leave them be. Any altercation with a civilian is a bad idea. In Nigeria, that civilian would be dead. Being a Soldier is not just about carrying weapons and shooting. We do more class work than field training. They make us think. A lot. Any serious mistake on your part could land you in jail for a very long time. And if you decide you want to do you own thing and not follow the rules, they will kick you out with a dishonorable discharge which means finding employment in the civilian world will be very difficult for you. Even walmart wouldn't hire you.

seems like you're here to ridicule the Nigerian army .

After 7 good years he was about wiping them out ,3 months to a deferred election, after using the war to waste billions of the nations resources, hiring foreign mercenaries, and plunging the army into disrepute?

The records will show that it was only under Goodluck Jonathan that in the history of this nation, terrorists could sack army barracks, troops could regularly flee from battle, and had to mutiny to protest their I'll treatment.

Only under Jonathan.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Why Should I Hire You? What To Say In Your Interview by Kgdavid(m): 12:26pm On Sep 11, 2016
If you can't answer this question with ease then i think you might be applying for the wrong job.

For the guys imagine your favorite football club wants to hire you and they ask you this question, will you have to think hard to answer? Your answer will probably be somethign like this:

"i have been training 6 hours a day for the past 10 years, and you will see from my videos that i have perfected the use of my two feet which in addition to my fast pace will help me provide a solution to the right flank crisis that Manchester United is facing. In addition, having analysed the past 10 games, i have realized that you need a player who can both defend and attack with pace down the right flank, which is an attribute i excel at.

I am also a great fan of this club, having supported since i was 3 years old. One thing i have come to love about the style of play here is the the ability to defend as a team, using the 4-4-2 shape and rapidly counter using the pace of 3 or 4 players. this is a system i am perfectly suited for"

Or the girl you have been chyking for so long finally is about to accept your advances but only if you can answer "why should i go out with you?". Will you have to think hard?

What you have passion for is what you should pursue. it will come much easier to you.

Getting ur employment letter is very important. Without it, u cannot prove that you're a staff of the company. This implies that if they default in paying you, you can't sue them.

From my limited legal knowledge, this may not be true. The company may think they are being smart but in the eyes of the law, a verbal contract is still as binding as a written one. The only challenge is proving it but there are other ways to prove it, such as showing email records, taking pictures of yourself at work, secretly recording conversations, etc.

Nigeria has more slums. 20 million people in lagos alone? Thats half of the entire kenyan population. There is no way Kenya rivals you in this.

#Kenyan

Based off your post, Nigeria should have more slums given that we are 4-5 times the size of Kenya. But this is faulty logic, since there is no reason why a larger population must necessarily mean having more slums.

And then according to this list Kenya has more than double the amount of major slums as Nigeria, despite having a much lower population.

But what is so shocking is that you have so many major slums within and around Nairobi alone. [s]Each one containing close to 100, 000 people. It's safe to say that close to 1 million people live in Nairabi's slums. How large is Nairobi if that much of it's population are slum dwellers?[/s]

Modified:

Just reviews the data and it turns out that you have at least 4.5 million slum dwellers in and around Nairobi alone! a good 10% of the Kenyan population dwells in slums, and thats counting only the major slums.
