It can happen. But, it is not a cure. This means that one can reverse back to active infection at any point in ones' life especially with depressed general immunity.

I wish you well.

i want to turn negative......do you know how much hepantivir is and where i can get?
also i want you to help me find out if hepatitis can stop one from getting a job in oil company or academics.thanks in anticipation

Kin101,

Nothing can 'rid' the HBV. It just suppresses viral shedding and load; which slows down progression to liver failure and cirrhosis.

Complete cure from HBV requires liver transplant.

people have turned negative before

OK. Here's the thing: Hepatanivir drug that you mentioned is around 80% effective.

However, before you invest in treatment, it is recommended that you get HBV DNA because it will determine if you should receive the treatment or not. It is also used to monitor or tract your response to anti viral treatment should you get one.

Here is your test result in recap: (please correct me If I am wrong)

core IgG= positive --> suggests chronic state
surface antigen= positive --> suggests active replication (this is what makes you active; therefore need HBV DNA to determine how 'active' (or extent of active virus) and determines the need for treatment.
surface antibody= negative --> suggests no immunity
e (infectivity) antigen=negative--> not actively infectious
e (infectivity) antibody=positive--> not actively infectious (this is what makes you chronic)

Treatment is recommended if you are in active liver failure (this will manifest with symptoms) OR

If you have high copies of HBV DNA >20,000.

I suspect you are in Chronic active state. Therefore, do invest in HBV DNA test to determine how "active" you are. Generally, if >20,000 copies of HBV DNA, it is recommended you start anti viral.

I hope this makes more sense. Please feel free to drop comment, questions etc.

Regards.

so hepantivir can rid the hbv ?

I am not really sure how effective hepantivir is or if you really need to do perform HBV DNA at this point.

I will dig some research and see if I come up with any information on the drug.

You should be permitted to travel outside the country. Hepatitis isn't an air-borne contagion, it is blood borne.

The results of your hepatitis tests should not change your life or the way you live it EXCEPT for to practice universal precautions for safety including use of: condoms and gloves.

Take care.

thanks.....
what does medical fitness test comprise of?
Health / Re: Doctor in the House: Free Medical Advice Available by kin101: 7:20am On May 19, 2015
Xiadnat:

Your hepatitis status really shouldn't affect your lecturing position.

The results matter if there will be high potential, possible exposure of blood, saliva especially when working closely with other humans. But, even still, it will not matter if you practice universal safety precautions such as wearing gloves, washing hands and taking care of cuts, bruises and making sure wounds are clean and bandaged.

Your HbcIgG positive result does not change what I have said in my earlier posts. You are in chronic carrier state. You need DNA HB core to determine whether in active or inactive carrier state.

Good luck.

have not gotten the job but i heard that if you get it u will still need to do medical fitness test.
how effective is hepantivir in eradicating hbv?
pls sir,can one be permitted to travel outside the country for research while still positive?
that hbv Dna test is very expensive, such amount of money should be dedicated to treatment

Your HBcIgG is positive?

yes it is
Health / Re: Doctor in the House: Free Medical Advice Available by kin101: 8:08pm On May 15, 2015
Xiadnat:

HBV-DNA is a way of checking for active viral replication. This means that if it is present in large quantities, then you are actively shedding virus in your system.

Active immunity is when you are infected and your body clears it. This means that your body has made antibodies against it- this will show up in lab as HBsAb+, HBcIgG+, HBeAb+.

You are in chronic state per your results but to tell if you are actively replicating or making new virus, get HBV DNA.

HBe is just one type of protein the virus sheds in the bloodstream that makes you infectious to other people. Having antibody against the e protein does not neccessarily mean immunity.

both hbciGg and hbeab is positive.............shouldnt it imply that the virus is not replicating?

the job is a lecturing job

HBc is the core protein for the viral survival and the one that your body needs to make antibody against. Positive HBc antibody is tolerant immuned state - a form of active immunity.

However, even in active immunity state, virus can reactivate at dangerously suppressed immune state at anytime in your life. So, still need to keep checking those viral/liver function labs periodically.

Also: passively immunize yourself and others in your household against hepatitis virus by getting Hep AB vaccination.

Best.

both hbcIGg and hbeab is positive.

the job is a lecturing job
Health / Re: Doctor in the House: Free Medical Advice Available by kin101: 8:12am On May 15, 2015
Xiadnat:

You are in chronic carrier state. You are not actively infectious abd low risk of liver cancer.

You do not need treatment unless you are in active liver failure.

Therefore, this should not affect your job opportunities even if they check it.

Checking for hepatitis infection should not be required unless the job requires it such as in health care proffessionals where there is a possibilty of boodily fluid exposure.

What kind of job is this?

Yes, some people can completely clear the virus from their body and thus become actively immuned. But it is not a cure.

Best

lecturing job.

doctor, what does it mean to say that HBV DNA ADVOCATED TO RULE OUT THE CORE MUTANT ANTIGEN?

also what are the possible ways of developing active immunity against the hbv,am expecting that since the body has responded by producing antibody against hbeag then it should imply that the immune system is responding accordingly.anticipating your reply.
Health / Re: Doctor in the House: Free Medical Advice Available by kin101: 2:55pm On May 14, 2015
Xiadnat:

You should be able to get any job you want provided you practice universal precautions against communicable and blood borne pathogens.

HbeAg and HbeAb positivity means little without the full serology panel. But, generally, it means you were once infected.

There is no cure to hepatitis. Management is supportive; antiviral if you are in acute liver failure and eventual liver transplant. Get vaccinated against hepatitis and practice precautions.

doctor the result as of last year=hbsag=postive,hbsab=negative,hbeag=negative,hbeab=positive......hbv dna advocated to rule out the core mutant antigen.
doctor people have been cured without taking drugs against hbv.they developed active immunity against the virus.

also is hbv not checked in the medical fitness test required for most jobs? anticipating your reply
