Religion / The Importance And The Effects Of Sacrament Of Confirmation by kingsmonology(m): 9:33am On Jun 04, 2018
The Importance and the effects of Sacrament of Confirmation on the Life of a Christian

Confirmation deepens our baptismal life that calls us to be missionary witnesses of Jesus Christ in our families, neighborhoods, society, and the world. Through Confirmation, our personal relationship with Christ is strengthened. We receive the message of faith in a deeper and more intensive manner with great emphasis given to the person of Jesus Christ, who asked the Father to give the Holy Spirit to the Church for building up the community in loving service.

The Holy Spirit bestows seven gifts of wisdom, understanding, knowledge, fortitude, counsel, piety, and fear of the Lord to assist us in our mission and witness. The impact of these gifts accompanies us in the various stages of our spiritual development.
As the confirmed, we walk with the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit. Wisdom enables us to see the world from God’s viewpoint, which can help us come to grasp the purpose and plan of God. It grants us the long-range view of history, examining the present in the light of the past and the mystery of the future. It saves us from the illusion that the spirit of the times is our only guide. The Spirit’s gift of knowledge directs us to a contemplation, or thoughtful reflection, of the mystery of God The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as well as of the mysteries of the Catholic faith. We are drawn to meditative prayer, where we allow God to lead us while we rest patiently in the divine presence.

The gift of understanding stimulates us to work on knowing ourselves as part of our growth in knowing God. It is what St. Augustine meant when he prayed, “That I may know you, may I know myself.” When the Spirit pours fortitude or courage into our hearts, we can trust that we will be prepared to stand up for Christ and the Gospel when challenged. As the gift of counsel or right judgment grows in us, we can sense the quiet teaching that the Spirit gives us about our moral lives and the training of our consciences.
The gift of piety or reverence is an act of respect for the Father who created us, for Jesus who saved us, and for the Spirit who is sanctifying us. We learn reverence for God and people from our parents and others who train us in virtue. The Spirit fills us with this gift at liturgy, which is a masterful school of reverence, as well as through popular devotions and piety.
Finally, the gift of fear of the Lord or wonder and awe in God’s presence can infuse honesty into our relationship with God, a frankness that places us in awe before the majesty of God. Yet the gift also imparts an attitude of grateful wonder that God loves us and that we can share in his life.
When we are responsive to the grace of Confirmation and the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, we begin to bear the fruits of the Spirit. The tradition of the Church names twelve fruits of the Holy Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, generosity, gentleness, faithfulness, modesty, self-control, and chastity (Gal 5:22).

Confirmation is so important in the Catholic Church because teenager/adults receive the Holy Spirit and become "soldiers of Christ" as full members of the Church. The Catholic Church sees the confirmation as a rite in which grace falls over the person as they announce their commitment to God and the Church. It is worthy to know that there is nothing like infant confirmation. Confirmation is the second rite of Sacrament; it is the culmination of what began at a person’s baptism. It is intended to show a person taking responsibility for what they believe in and professing it to the church, friends and family. Before Confirmation, our spiritual life is like that of a child, and is largely self-centered. We tend to be preoccupied with our own needs. We cannot be self-centered if we understand what it means to be a member of Christ's Mystical Body. When we are Confirmed we receive special graces by which our faith is strengthened, so
that it will be strong enough not only for our own needs but for the needs of others with whom we try to share it.

With the onset of adolescence a child begins to assume the responsibilities of adulthood. He begins to see his place in the total family picture and in the community.

Similarly, the Confirmed Christian begins to see more clearly his responsibility to Christ for his neighbor. He becomes deeply concerned (or ought to) with the welfare of Christ-in-the-world—which is the Church—and the welfare of his neighbor. The Confirmed Christian—whether we call him a spiritual soldier or a spiritual adult—goes forth joyfully in the fulfillment of his vocation.

Strong in his faith and with love for others which stems from his love for Christ, he feels a continual concern for others. He wants to do something worthwhile for others, something to ease their burdens and make more secure their promise of life eternal. His words and his actions proclaim to those around him: "Christ lives, and He lives for you"!

The grace to do this is the grace which Jesus promised to His Apostles (and to us) when He said: "You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you shall be witnesses for me . . . even to the very ends of the earth" (Acts 1:cool. It is virtue of confirmation.

From ancient times, olive oil has been looked upon as a strengthening substance. Athletes were accustomed to bathing in olive oil before taking part in athletic contests. The significance of the holy oils used in the administering the sacraments represents the strengthening effect of God's grace.

Besides the distinct and special blessing which each holy oil receives, chrism has another difference; balm has been mixed with it. Balm is a fragrant substance obtained from the balsam tree. The holy chrism symbolizes the "sweet odor" of virtue. It tells of the spiritual fragrance, the attractiveness that should characterize the life of the person who puts his Confirmation graces to work.

Thanks,
This assignment was written by: Kingsley, Phil Ehimare; in fulfillment of his confirmation class as requested by Rev. Fr. Melvis Mayaki.

Education / Re: Research Design And Types Of Research Designs by kingsmonology(m): 7:57am On Jun 03, 2018
1. Sequential Explanatory
• Characterized by: Collection and analysis of quantitative data followed by a collection and analysis of qualitative data.
• Purpose: To use qualitative results to assist in explaining and interpreting the findings of a quantitative study.
2. Sequential Exploratory
• Characterized by: An initial phase of qualitative data collection and analysis followed by a phase of quantitative data collection and analysis.
• Purpose: To explore a phenomenon. This strategy may also be useful when developing and testing a new instrument
3. Sequential Transformative
• Characterized by: Collection and analysis of either quantitative or qualitative data first. The results are integrated in the interpretation phase.
• Purpose: To employ the methods that best serve a theoretical perspective.
4. Concurrent Triangulation
• Characterized by: Two or more methods used to confirm, cross-validate, or corroborate findings within a study. Data collection is concurrent.
• Purpose: Generally, both methods are used to overcome a weakness in using one method with the strengths of another.
5. Concurrent Nested
• Characterized by: A nested approach that gives priority to one of the methods and guides the project, while another is embedded or “nested.”
• Purpose: The purpose of the nested method is to address a different question than the dominant or to seek information from different levels.
6. Concurrent Transformative
• Characterized by: The use of a theoretical perspective reflected in the purpose or research questions of the study to guide all methodological choices.
• Purpose: To evaluate a theoretical perspective at different levels of analysis.
When to use it?
Mixed methods research is particularly suited:
• When one wants to validate or corroborate the results obtained from other methods.
• When one needs to use one method to inform another method. For instance, when little is known about a topic and it is necessary to first learn about what variables to study through qualitative research, and then study those variables with a large sample of individuals using quantitative research.

Triangulation is a measurement technique often used by surveyors to locate an object in space by relying on two known points in order to ‘‘triangulate’’ on an unknown fixed point in that same space. Early on, social scientists borrowed the concept of triangulation to argue for its use in the validation process in assessing the veracity of social science research results. There are alternative perspectives on the use of triangulation that argue for its usefulness as ‘‘dialectical’’ process whose goals seek a more in-depth nuanced understanding of research findings and clarifying disparate results by placing them in dialogue with one another.
This special issue of the Journal of Mixed Methods Research
(JMMR) analyzes and explores the variety of ways triangulation is used in mixed methods research and the range of issues and controversies surrounding triangulation praxis. To date, there are few scholarly in-depth discussions of its deployment in mixed methods research. The choice of triangulation as the topic for this first special issue of JMMR is based on the claims made by many scholars in the field that triangulation provides a justification for the use of mixed methods.

The contributors to this volume raise many questions about the meaning of triangulation, its philosophical positioning in the mixed methods community, and strategies for using triangulation in the design of mixed methods studies, analysis and interpretation of data, and making visible subjugated voices. They take provocative positions, suggesting that qualitative, constructivist, and interpretive pathways provide greater potential for research to address the social good than has been possible using mixed methods approaches that are more closely aligned with the post positivist paradigm.

1.8 Collecting Data:
There are a few standard ways of collecting data: use already existing data, survey a sampling of the population, design an experiment, use a census, and use a simulation.
• In relation to statistics, a "census" is broadly defined as a list of ALL individuals in the population along with characteristics regarding each individual. A "census" is extremely difficult to obtain. Imagine trying to survey millions of college students, for example, to determine if college students preferred iPhones or Android phones.
• A "simulation" uses a model (such as a computer model) to replicate the conditions of a process or situation. Simulations are commonly used when actual conditions are too expensive, dangerous, impractical or unethical to replicate in real life.
Observational Study - In an observational study, the sample population being studied is measured, or surveyed, as it is. The researcher observes the subjects and measures variables, but does not influence the population in any way or attempt to intervene in the study. There is no manipulation by the researcher. Instead, data is simply gathered and correlations are investigated. Since observational studies do not control any variable, the results can only allow the researcher to claim association, not causation (not a cause-and-effect conclusion).
An example of an observational study:
Is there a correlation between attending an SAT Prep class and scores achieved on the SAT Examination for this school year? In an attempt to investigate this possible correlation, a group of students who took the SAT Examination are surveyed. The scores from students who took an SAT Prep class are compared with the scores of those that did not take an SAT Prep class. A statistical analysis is performed on the data. This is an observational study since the researcher did not manipulate the sample set.
Surveys - Surveys are one form of an observational study, since the researchers do not influence the outcomes. Statistical surveys collect information from a sample group to learn about the entire population. A survey may focus on opinions or factual information depending upon the purpose of the study. Surveys may involve answering a questionnaire or being interviewed by a researcher. The Nigeria Census is a type of survey.
Advantages of surveys: Disadvantages of surveys:
• can be administered in a variety of forms (telephone, mail, on-line, mall interview, etc.)
• are efficient for collecting data from a large population
• can be designed to focus only on the needed response questions
• are applicable to a wide range of topics • are dependent upon the respondent's honesty and motivation when answering
• can be flawed by non-response
• can possess questions or answer choices that may be interpreted differently by different respondents (such as the choice "agree slightly"wink
Randomization and a well-designed survey:
A sample population is considered random if the probability of selecting the sample is the same as the probability of selecting every other sample. When a sample is not random, a bias is introduced which may influence the study in favor of one outcome over other outcomes.

Designed Experimental Study - Unlike an observational study, an experimental study has the researcher purposely attempting to influence the results. The goal is to determine what effect a particular treatment has on the outcome. Researchers take measurements or surveys of the sample population. The researchers then manipulate the sample population in some manner. After the manipulation, the researchers re-measure, or re-survey, using the same procedures to determine if the manipulation possibly changed the measurements. Since variables are controlled in a designed experiment, the results allow the researcher to claim causation (a cause-and-effect conclusion).
In a randomized experiment, researchers control the manipulation of the sample populations using a chance mechanism, such as flipping a coin or using a computer to generate random numbers. Randomization is important for experimental studies so the researcher can know that it was the treatment given to the population that caused a change in the population.

During a "controlled" experiment, the researcher will separate the sample population into groups with one group established as the control group. All groups will be manipulated in some manner, except for the control group which will remain the same.
An example of an experimental study:
Does the color of a basketball influence the number of times a shooter sinks a basket? A random group of students is chosen and asked to shoot a series of baskets using a regulation normal-colored basketball. The data is recorded. The same group is then given a blue colored basketball and the same number of shots is repeated. The data is again recorded. A statistical analysis is performed. This is a designed experimental study since the researcher manipulated the conditions of the study by changing the color of the ball.
Comparison of Observational Study and Designed Experimental Study:
Observational Study Designed Experiment
• Observe only, no "treatment" assigned
• Generally a control group is not needed
• Reports an association
• May (or not) use random sample sets
• May (or not) generalize to population • "Treatment" assigned
• Uses control group for comparison
• Reports a cause and effect
• Randomization of sample group
• Generalize to population

Observation is a systematic data collection approach. Researchers use all of their senses to examine people in natural settings or naturally occurring situations. Observation of a field setting involves: prolonged engagement in a setting or social situation.
Observational research (or field research) is a type of correlational (i.e., non-experimental) research in which a researcher observes ongoing behavior. There are a variety of types of observational research, each of which has both strengths and weaknesses. These types are organized below by the extent to which an experimenter intrudes upon or controls the environment.
Observational research is particularly prevalent in the social sciences and in marketing. It is a social research technique that involves the direct observation of phenomena in their natural setting. This differentiates it from experimental research in which a quasi-artificial environment is created to control for spurious factors, and where at least one of the variables is manipulated as part of the experiment. It is typically divided into naturalistic (or “nonparticipant”) observation, and participant observation. Cases studies and archival research are special types of observational research. Naturalistic (or nonparticipant) observation has no intervention by a researcher. It is simply studying behaviors that occur naturally in natural contexts, unlike the artificial environment of a controlled laboratory setting. Importantly, in naturalistic observation, there is no attempt to manipulate variables. It permits measuring what behavior is really like. However, its typical limitations consist in its incapability exploring the actual causes of behaviors, and the impossibility to determine if a given observation is truly representative of what normally occurs. In participant observation, the researcher intervenes in the environment. Most commonly, this refers to inserting himself/herself as a member of a group, aimed at observing behavior that otherwise would not be accessible. Also, behaviors remain relatively natural, thereby giving the measurements high external validity. Case Studies are a type of observational research that involves a thorough descriptive analysis of a single individual, group, or event. They can be designed along the lines of both nonparticipant and participant observation. Both approaches create new data, while archival research involves the analysis of data that already exist. A hypothesis is generated and then tested by analyzing data that have already been collected. This is a useful approach when one has access to large amounts of information collected over long periods of time. Such databases are available, for example, in longitudinal research that collects information from the same individuals over many years.

Pros:
• Observation can help round out research by offering a real-world aspect to a hypothesis. It offers a better description of consumer behavior and is less hypothetical than other methods.
• Observation allows you to see how consumers act together and separately. Do purchasing decisions change in a group setting? Do consumers act differently when by themselves?
• Observation allows you to create and observe actual situations. Instead of using data to try and predict what will happen when consumers pass a large product display, observation validates with actual results.
• Observation can improve the quality of an initial behavioral analysis based on demographics, therefore increasing the validity of research.
• This technique is ideal for situations in which nonverbal communication is important for a complete consumer profile.
• Observation provides a more reliable measurement of actual consumer behavior, rather than self-report metrics.
Cons:
• Observation research can include a high degree of researcher bias. Because the observer is human, subconscious opinions on demographics can affect the analysis.
• The method also relies on the interpretation of observation. And, since the market researcher cannot “see” attitudes and memories, it can be difficult to create an accurate analysis from observation alone.
• Observation research doesn’t always return an accurate demographic sample. It’s much smaller, and relies heavily on chance. Researchers are sometimes left at the mercy of whoever came into a store that day, whether or not it lines up with desired consumer profiles.
• Observation only tells one part of the story. Attitudes and opinions cannot be clearly expressed only through actions, so it may not be the clearest picture possible.
As with most research methods, observational research works best in tandem with other methods. A focus group, for instance, could outline thoughts and opinions, while observation showcases actual behavior in real-life situations. Either way, any decent market research report will be filled out by a responsible researcher who knows how to engineer both so that decisions are accurately predicted time and time again.

1.9 Reasons for Advocating References
Referencing allows you to acknowledge the contribution of other writers and researcher in your work. Any university assignments that draw on the ideas, words or research of other writers must contain citations.
Referencing is also a way to give credit to the writers from whom you have borrowed words and ideas. By citing the work of a particular scholar you acknowledge and respect the intellectual property rights of that researcher. As a student (or an academic) you can draw on any of the millions of ideas, insights and arguments published by other writers, many of whom have spent years researching and writing. All you need to do is acknowledge their contribution to your assignment.
Referencing is a way to provide evidence to support the assertions and claims in your own assignments. By citing experts in your field, you are showing your marker that you are aware of the field in which you are operating. Your citations map the space of your discipline, and allow you to navigate your way through your chosen field of study, in the same way that sailors steer by the stars.
References should always be accurate, allowing your readers to trace the sources of information you have used. The best way to make sure you reference accurately is to keep a record of all the sources you used when reading and researching for an assignment.
Citations also make your writing more persuasive.

1.4 So what is the difference between Qualitative Research and Quantitative Research?
QUALITATIVE RESEARCH QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH
1. Qualitative Research is primarily exploratory research.
Used to quantify the problem by way of generating numerical data or data that can be transformed into useable statistics.
2. It is used to gain an understanding of underlying reasons, opinions, and motivations. It is used to quantify attitudes, opinions, behaviors, and other defined variables – and generalize results from a larger sample population.
3. Is also used to uncover trends in thought and opinions, and dive deeper into the problem. Uses measurable data to formulate facts and uncover patterns in research
4. Unstructured or semi-structured response options Fixed response options
5. The sample size is typically small, and respondents are selected to fulfill a given quota The sample size is typically large, and respondents are most times randomly selected
6. Time expenditure lighter on the planning end and heavier during the analysis phase Time expenditure heavier on the planning phase and lighter on the analysis phase
7. Text-based Number-based
8. Can be valid and reliable: largely depends on skill and rigor of the researcher Can be valid and reliable: largely depends on the measurement device or instrument used
9. More subjective: describes a problem or condition from the point of view of those experiencing it More objective: provides observed effects (interpreted by researchers) of a program on a problem or condition
10. Primarily inductive process used to formulate theory or hypotheses Primarily deductive process used to test pre-specified concepts, constructs, and hypotheses that make up a theory
11. Less generalizable More generalizable
12. Methods include focus groups, in-depth interviews, and reviews of documents for types of themes Surveys, structured interviews & observations, and reviews of records or documents for numeric information

1.5 Survey Definition & Types
If you've ever been sitting at a train station, a particular lecturer's classroom, or in a public area and a person with a stack of papers in his hands comes up to you out of the blue and asks if you have a few minutes to talk, then you have likely been asked to take part in a survey.
There are a lot of ways to conduct research and collect information, but one way that makes it really easy is by doing a survey. A survey is defined as a brief interview or discussion with individuals about a specific topic. The term survey is, unfortunately, a little vague, so we need to define it better. The term survey is often used to mean 'collect information.' For instance, you may imagine a researcher or a television scientist saying, 'We need to do a survey!' (I know, riveting television).
So, besides our definition above, survey also means to collect information. We have our first definition of a brief interview, and we have a second definition of collecting data. There is a third definition for survey. This third definition of survey is a specific type of survey research. Here are the three specific techniques of survey research:
• Questionnaires - a series of written questions a participant answers. This method gathers responses to questions that are essay or agree/neutral/disagree style.
• Interviews - questions posed to an individual to obtain information about him or her. This type of survey is like a job interview, with one person asking another a load of questions.
• Surveys - brief interviews and discussions with individuals about a specific topic. Yes, survey is also a specific type of survey, to make things even more confusing. A survey is a quick interview, with the surveyor asking only a few questions.
Using Surveys
So, why are those people hanging around train stations and other public places? The reason is due to the nature of surveys and the purpose of study. A study is designed to collect information about a topic (for instance, 'how do you feel about Bigfoot voting rights?') and then analyze the collected information to draw a conclusion. The people hanging out in public areas are trying to collect the data. Each survey technique offers strengths and weaknesses, which will be explored in a moment. It is the job of the researcher to weigh those strengths and weaknesses against the needs of their study (people are against Bigfoot voting rights).
All of the surveys offer relatively quick ways of collecting information, and this lesson will show how a researcher might employ surveys in their methodology. Let's say you, as a researcher, are interested in pet ownership and people's views on it.
Questionnaires
If you use questionnaires, you will sit down and write up some questions that you need answers to. This can go in several ways:
• Open ended questions where the participant fills in the answer with their thoughts. For example, 'What do you think of pet ownership?' This is useful for a descriptive study, but there is very little here that you can analyze statistically.
• Multiple-choice questions allow for statistical analysis such as, 'Do you think pet ownership is a good thing for people - agree, neutral, or disagree.' However, you may miss some personal feelings or thoughts on the situation.
Using questionnaires allows a researcher to utilize several strengths. For example:
• It allows for minimal contact between researcher and participant.
• Multiple avenues, such as handing them out in person, using snail mail, email, and online survey engines, can be used.
• Participants' answers are readily recorded on the forms.
Questionnaires aren't all sunshine and happy times, though. There are some weak points that need to be addressed. For instance:
• The questions and instructions must be written extremely clearly or participants will answer in incorrect ways.
• There is little ensuring participants finish a survey, meaning they may return it half-finished and therefore useless.
• The cost of printing out hundreds of questionnaires can quickly become very expensive.
Interviews
The second option, interviews, is very much like an in-person job interview. One person sits across from the other and asks questions. The researcher will record what is being said, usually with a tape recorder or video camera, so that the conversation can be reviewed later.
Like all studies, interviews have several strengths and weaknesses. Some of the strengths include:
Advantages of Surveys
High Representativeness
Surveys provide a high level of general capability in representing a large population. Due to the usual huge number of people who answers survey, the data being gathered possess a better description of the relative characteristics of the general population involved in the study. As compared to other methods of data gathering, surveys are able to extract data that are near to the exact attributes of the larger population.

2. Low Costs
When conducting surveys, you only need to pay for the production of survey questionnaires. If you need a larger sample of the general population, you can allot an incentive in cash or kind, which can be as low as $2 per person. On the other hand, other data gathering methods such as focus groups and personal interviews require researchers to pay more.
3. Convenient Data Gathering
Surveys can be administered to the participants through a variety of ways. The questionnaires can simply be sent via e-mail or fax, or can be administered through the Internet. Nowadays, the online survey method has been the most popular way of gathering data from target participants. Aside from the convenience of data gathering, researchers are able to collect data from people around the globe.

4. Good Statistical Significance
Because of the high representativeness brought about by the survey method, it is often easier to find statistically significant results than other data gathering methods. Multiple variables can also be effectively analyzed using surveys.

5. Little or No Observer Subjectivity
Surveys are ideal for scientific research studies because they provide all the participants with a standardized stimulus. With such high reliability obtained, the researcher’s own biases are eliminated.

6. Precise Results
As questions in the survey should undergo careful scrutiny and standardization, they provide uniform definitions to all the subjects who are to answer the questionnaires. Thus, there is a greater precision in terms of measuring the data gathered.

Disadvantages of Surveys
1. Inflexible Design
The survey that was used by the researcher from the very beginning, as well as the method of administering it, cannot be changed all throughout the process of data gathering. Although this inflexibility can be viewed as a weakness of the survey method, this can also be a strength considering the fact that preciseness and fairness can both be exercised in the study.
2. Not Ideal for Controversial Issues
Questions that bear controversies may not be precisely answered by the participants because of the probably difficulty of recalling the information related to them. The truth behind these controversies may not be relieved as accurately as when using alternative data gathering methods such as face-to-face interviews and focus groups.

3. Possible Inappropriateness of Questions
Questions in surveys are always standardized before administering them to the subjects. The researcher is therefore forced to create questions that are general enough to accommodate the general population. However, these general questions may not be as appropriate for all the participants as they should be.

1.6 Application to Business
Businesses of all types and sizes undertake extensive research methods to improve and grow. The long term success of a startup, medium sized business and even established business depends on efficient and cost effective research undertaken.
Companies often rely on various business research methods to obtain information from the consumers or other businesses. Such business research methods undertaken enable a company to do an in depth study about several internal and external factors influencing the market share and profitability of the company.

1. The Major Areas Survey Applied in Business Are:
Conducting surveys is a very common method adopted by businesses to gather larger amount of information or data immediately at a very low cost. Due to large popularity of this method of business research, a standard survey sample is easily available for companies which they can put together to ascertain relevant information. See it from the sequence:
a. Uncover the answers. In a non-intimidating survey environment, you will learn about what motivates survey respondents and what is important to them, and gather meaningful opinions, comments, and feedback. A non-intimidating survey environment is one that best suits the privacy needs of the survey respondent. Respondents are more likely to provide open and honest feedback in a more private survey method. Methods such as online surveys, paper surveys, or mobile surveys are more private and less intimidating than face-to-face survey interviews or telephone surveys.
b. Evoke discussion. Give your survey respondents an opportunity to discuss important key topics. Communicate with your respondents about your survey topic. This allows you to dig deeper into your survey, and can incite topics related to your survey within a broader perspective.
c. Base decisions on objective information. Conducting surveys is an unbiased approach to decision-making. Don’t rely on “gut feelings” to make important business decisions. You can collect unbiased survey data and develop sensible decisions based on analyzed results. By analyzing results, you can immediately address topics of importance, rather than waste time and valuable resources on areas of little or no concern.
d. Compare results. Surveys results provide a snapshot of the attitudes and behaviors – including thoughts, opinions, and comments – about your target survey population. This valuable feedback is your baseline to measure and establish a benchmark from which to compare results over time.
Based on the information obtained through the different business research methods, companies whether new or established can undertake some essential business decisions such as the following-
• Possibility of the business to survive and succeed in a new geographical region
• Assessment about competitors
• Adopting a suitable market approach for a product
Businesses may choose to adopt either one or all of the below discussed research methods to achieve their business goals:
2. Case Studies
The business research method of case study is generally undertaken by those business houses who want a detailed and comprehensive understanding of the consumer response about a particular product or service.
Case studies primarily help a business in the following ways:
• Thorough assessment of consumer satisfaction.
• Consumer attitudes and opinion about a product.
Though case study method of business research is time consuming, it helps in the collection of in depth information about customer’s likes, dislikes and preferences thus throwing light on strength and weakness of a specific product or service.
3. Interviews
Companies rely on this method of business research to track actual consumer experiences with respect to a particular product or service. Consumers are asked specific questions which they have to answer at length based on which companies get a clear picture about the level of consumer satisfaction, experience of the consumer in lieu to a product or service.
The main advantage of this research methodology is the chance to ask follow up questions which throws light about the consumer response with respect to a specific product or service. The only drawback is that a careless interviewer can partially influence the response provided by interviewee. Also this method of business research tends to be time consuming.
4. Focus Groups
Focus group can be described as a in between research methodology among the various business research methods. The idea behind undertaking this method of business research is to obtain an honest suggestion and feedback from the consumers about a specific product or service.
The focus groups aim to provide a larger sample as compared to interviews and case studies. The only drawback from undertaking this type of research is that there are chances of the facilitator in asking irrelevant questions which might divert the research in a particular direction thus defeating the ultimate purpose of the analysis undertaken.
Among the different methods of data gathering for research purposes, the survey method is preferred by many researchers due to its various advantages, strengths and benefits. However, surveys also have their disadvantages and weak points that must be considered.

1.7 Mixed Research (Triangulation)
By mixing both quantitative and qualitative research and data, the researcher gains in breadth and depth of understanding and corroboration, while offsetting the weaknesses inherent to using each approach by itself. One of the most advantageous characteristics of conducting mixed methods research is the possibility of triangulation, i.e., the use of several means (methods, data sources and researchers) to examine the same phenomenon. Triangulation allows one to identify aspects of a phenomenon more accurately by approaching it from different vantage points using different methods and techniques. Successful triangulation requires careful analysis of the type of information provided by each method, including its strengths and weaknesses.
Mixed Methods Research Designs
The field of mixed methods has only been widely accepted for the last decade, though researchers have long been using multiple methods, just not calling them “mixed.” Mixed methods research takes advantage of using multiple ways to explore a research problem.
Basic Characteristics
• Design can be based on either or both perspectives.
• Research problems can become research questions and/or hypotheses based on prior literature, knowledge, experience, or the research process.
• Sample sizes vary based on methods used.
• Data collection can involve any technique available to researchers.
• Interpretation is continual and can influence stages in the research process.
Why Use Mixed Methods?
The simple answer is to overcome the limitations of a single design. A detailed answer involves:
• To explain and interpret.
• To explore a phenomenon.
• To develop and test a new instrument.
• To serve a theoretical perspective.
• To complement the strengths of a single design.
• To overcome the weaknesses of a single design.
• To address a question at different levels.
• To address a theoretical perspective at different levels.
Some strength
• Can be easy to describe and to report.
• Can be useful when unexpected results arise from a prior study.
• Can help generalize, to a degree, qualitative data.
• Helpful in designing and validating an instrument.
• Can position research in a transformative framework.
Some weaknesses
• Time required.
• Resolving discrepancies between different types of data.
• Some designs generate unequal evidence.
• Can be difficult to decide when to proceed in sequential designs.
• Little guidance on transformative methods.
Methodologist John Creswell suggested a systematic framework for approaching mixed methods research. His framework involves four decisions to consider and six strategies.
Four Decisions for Mixed Method Designs (Creswell, 2003, p. 211)
1. What is the implementation sequence of data collection?
2. What method takes priority during data collection and analysis?
3. What does the integration stage of finding involve?
4. Will a theoretical perspective be used?

1.0 Preamble to the conceptual definition of research design:
Decisions regarding what, where, when, how much, by what means with regards to an enquiry or a research design are taken. It is the arrangement of conditions for collection and analysis of data in a way which seeks to combine relevance to the research purpose with economy in process.

1.1 Meaning and Definition of Research Design
According to Kerlinger (1986), “Research Design in the plan, structure and strategy of study conceived in order to get answers to research questions and also to control variance.” It is a thorough outline of how a study is going to take place. It will generally consist of how data is to be collected, what tools will be used, how the tools will be used and the intended means for analyzing collected data.
It is the determination and statement of the general research approach or approach followed for the specific task. It is the heart of planning. If the design sticks to the research objective, it will guarantee that the client’s needs, will be served. – David J Luck and Ronald S Rubin

According to Green and Tull (1978), “It is the specification of techniques and processes for obtaining the information required. It is the over-all operational pattern or framework of the project which states what data is to be gathered from which source by what processes.”
Research Design is a set of advanced decisions that make up the master plan specifying the methods and procedures for collecting and analyzing the needed information according to Alvin and Ronald (2003).
In view of the above definitions, I can summary say, the research design refers to the overall strategy that you choose to integrate the different components of the study in a coherent and logical way, thereby, ensuring you will effectively address the research problem; it constitutes the blueprint for the collection, measurement, and analysis of data. Note that your research problem determines the type of design you should use, not the other way around. In other words the research design is defined as, it is the plan for collecting and utilizing data so that desired information can be obtained.

1.2 Different Types of Research Designs
The research design is the structure of a scientific work. A good research design will obviously describe the strategy to be employed for choosing samples, collecting data, managing costs along with other factors which are important for conducting research.
It is crucial that you select a suitable research design before any research is started. Various types can be classified as:
1. Historical Research Design – The idea is to gather, validate, and synthesize evidence to establish facts which defend or oppose your hypothesis. It makes use of primary sources, secondary sources, and a lot of qualitative data sources for example logs, diaries, official data, reports, and so on. The issue is that the sources need to be both authentic and valid.

2. Case Study: It is an in-depth investigation of a specific research problem as opposed to a sweeping statistical survey. It is usually employed to limit a very wide area of research into one or a few easily research-able examples. The case study research design can also be helpful for testing whether a particular theory and model actually pertains to phenomena in real life. It is a useful design if not much is known about a phenomenon.
3. Descriptive research: Descriptive research includes much government backed research such as the population census, the gathering of a broad range of social indicators and economic information for example household expenditure patterns, time use studies, employment and crime statistics.

4. Causal Design: Causality research could be regarded as understanding a phenomenon with regards to conditional statements in the form, “If A, then B.” This kind of research is utilized to determine what affect a certain change may have on present norms and assumptions. The majority of social scientists seek causal explanations which reflect tests of hypotheses. Causal effect takes place when variation in one phenomenon, an independent variable, results in, on average, in variation in another phenomenon, the dependent variable.

5. Longitudinal Research Design
A longitudinal study consists of a panel, which is a fixed sample of elements. The elements could be shops, retailers, individuals, or other entities. The panel, or sample, stays relatively constant over time, despite the fact that members may be added to replace dropouts or to keep it representative. The sample members in a panel are calculated regularly over time, in contrast with the one-time measurement in a cross-sectional study.

6. Cross-Sectional Design: Cross-sectional research designs have 3 exclusive features: no time dimension, reliance upon present differences rather than change following intervention; and, groups are chosen according to existing differences as opposed to random allocation. The cross-sectional design can only measure differences between or from among a number of people, subjects, or phenomena instead of change. As a result, researchers employing this design can only use a relative passive approach to making causal inferences based on findings.

7. Correlation or Prospective Research Design: It tries to discover relationships to make predictions. It uses one set of subjects with a couple of variables for each.
8. Cohort Design: A cohort study is a research program looking into a specific group with a certain trait, and observes over a period of time. A few examples of cohorts may be those who have taken a certain medicine, or have a medical problem.

9. Observational Design: This kind of research design draws a conclusion by evaluating subjects against a control group, in situations where the researcher doesn’t have control over the experiment. There are a couple of general types of observational designs. In direct observations, people realize that you are watching them. Unobtrusive measures include any way of studying behavior where individuals have no idea they are being observed. An observational study allows a good insight into a phenomenon and eliminates the ethical and practical complications of establishing a large and cumbersome research project.

10. Experimental Research Design: This design is best suited in controlled settings for example labs. The design assumes random assignment of subjects and random assignment to groups (A and C). It tries to investigate cause and affect associations where causes could be manipulated to generate different types of effects. Due to the requirement of random assignment, this design can be challenging to carry out in the real world (non-laboratory) setting.

11. Philosophical Design: This method makes use of the tools of argumentation based on philosophical traditions, concepts, models, and theories to critically explore and challenge, for instance, the relevance of logic and evidence in academic debates, to evaluate arguments about fundamental problems, or to discuss the cause of existing discourse about a research problem.

12. Explanatory Research: It concentrates on why questions. For instance, it is one thing to describe the crime rate in a nation, to analyze trends over time or to compare the rates in various countries. It is quite a different thing to develop explanations regarding why the criminal activity rate is as high as it is, why some kinds of crime are growing or why the rate is higher in some nations than in others.
Research design provides direction and systematizes the research. The research design details the real research problem and the process for solving it. This work was originally done by Universaltecher.com (2017).

Qualitative Research & Quantitative Research
There are two general research approaches, which are qualitative research and quantitative research. These two research approaches are used for research theory and method. They are differentiated since quantitative methodology uses numerical analysis, but qualitative methodology focuses on non-numeric and descriptive 6 researches to understand the situation, Chen and Hirschheim (2004).

Qualitative research is mainly exploratory research. It is used to gain a qualitative understanding of the underlying reasons and motivations; their sample consists of small number of non-representative cases. Quantitative research refers to the systematic empirical investigation of social phenomena via statistical, mathematical or computational techniques by Given and Lisa (2008).
It usually quantifies the data and generalizes the results from sample to the population of interest; it often uses large number of representative cases as sample. Another difference between qualitative and quantitative research is the collection and analysis of data. Qualitative data collection methods vary using unstructured or semi-structured techniques and the data analysis are non-statistical. Quantitative data collection methods are much more structured than qualitative data and the data analysis is statistical and measurable.

Exploratory Research Design
Exploratory research design is one type of research design.
Exploratory research is the most commonly unstructured, informal research. It is undertaken to gain background information about the general nature of the research problem Alvin and Ronald (2003).

The central purpose is to formulate hypotheses regarding potential problems and opportunities present in the decision situation. The hypotheses can be tested at a later phase with a conclusive research design Leinhardt (1980).

Exploratory research can be used in the following situations base on the different research objectives such as:
a) To identify relevant courses of action
b) When you must define the problem more precisely
c) To develop hypotheses
d) To gain additional insights before an approach can be developed
e) Establish priorities for further research
f) Isolate key variables and relationships for further examination
For the objective of identification of problem, it can be assisted through three ways, which are; searching secondary sources, interviewing knowledgeable persons, and compiling case histories Malek and Massoud (2011).

Data Collection
Data collection is of great importance in research study. It is the process of gathering and measuring information for future analysis, further to make important decisions. In qualitative researches, the significance of the phenomenon is constructed and understood by collecting data Merriam (2002).
The phase of data collection has big influence on assessment. Thus, we need to pay much attention to this process. First of all, we need to clarify the different types of data. Two main types of data are qualitative and quantitative. Qualitative data is not given numerically and deals with descriptions; data can be observed but not measured, such as colors, tastes, appearance, etc. On the contrary, quantitative data is numerical. The data can be measured, such as length, height, time, and speed.
A variety of methods are available for conducting data collection. These methods contain data collection through secondary research, face-to-face interviews, case studies, experience, surveys and questionnaires. In the following subsection, we will use interview and case study method to collect data. We will try to avoid biases, which are the difference between what the data says and what it looks like in reality, since bias would lead to bad decisions.
Secondary data collection We can find the secondary data in the library and the Internet, which include books, journals, magazines, special reports, company cases and previous studies. Secondary data is mainly collected in exploratory and qualitative studies Saunders et al (2007).

1.3 The Pros and Cons of Qualitative and Quantitative Researches
Despite the criticism that qualitative methods are interpretive and invalid as scientific evidence, the real discrepancy lies within the types of data that each method produces. Quantitative data measures quantifiable terms, such as "how much," "how long" and "how many," while qualitative data measures the reasons behind behavior, such as the "how" and "why." While neither method is "better" than the other, there are advantages and disadvantages to both.
Qualitative: Pros
Qualitative research allows one to explore topics in more depth and detail than quantitative research. Also, qualitative research is often less expensive than quantitative research, because you don’t need to recruit as many participants or use extensive methods. Another pro of qualitative research is that it offers flexibility as far as locations and timing because you don’t need to interview a large number of people at once.

Qualitative: Cons
One major disadvantage of qualitative research is that it cannot quantify how many of your audience answer one way or another. This makes it extremely difficult to create any type of solid statistic. Another con is that you cannot generalize your findings. As opposed to quantitative surveys, qualitative research does not allow you to use your findings as a basis for a broader audience or the public in general.
Quantitative: Pros
One of the pros to quantitative research involves the fast speed that data can be collected. This data can also be analyzed fairly quickly. In addition, using statistically valid random samples, a survey can quickly be generalized to the entire population. Another advantage involves the planning process for programs and messages. With the reliable, repeatable information that quantitative surveys can provide, a trusted set of statistics can give confidence when making future plans. Quantitative research can also be anonymous, which is useful when dealing with sensitive topics. Another major pro of quantitative research is that it allows you to generalize your findings beyond the participant group.
Quantitative: Cons
One con of quantitative research is the limited ability to probe answers. Also, people who are willing to respond may share characteristics that don’t apply to the audience as a whole, creating a potential bias in the study. In addition, quantitative research experiments can be costly.

Literature / Re: Classical Theories, Behavioural Perspcetive And Modern Theories by kingsmonology(m): 4:10pm On May 24, 2018
QUESTION 3: EXPLAIN THE DOMAIN OF MODEL THEORIES OF ORGANIZATION
Modern Theory
Definition: The Modern Theory is the integration of valuable concepts of the classical models with the social and behavioral sciences. This theory posits that an organization is a system that changes with the change in its environment, both internal and external. -Business Jargons
Modern organizational behavior has become complex. It synthesizes the classical and neoclassical theories of organization, while incorporating technological development. Modern theories of organization are classified into quantitative theory, system theory and contingency theory.
The Quantitative Theory includes operation research and quantification of the problem. It analyses the problems from quantifiable angles and provides solutions to complex problems only with the help of statistical and mathematical models such as linear and non-linear programming, game theory, decision tree, simulation and probability. Computers are used to solve management problems whereas mathematical models were previously used for the purpose. A large number of problems are solved with the use of simulation equations and computers. The development of equations requires specialized skills and advance knowledge of mathematics, statistics, economics and behavioral sciences. Models are tested while the context of the real world and use of operation research. Operation research is conducted by diverse specialists and management experts. It is useful from the levels of planning for organizing, actuating and control. It is known that mathematical models do not provide the ultimate solutions. If they are used in a given environment with real assumptions, they can suggest appropriate measures which can be used for solving problems. The quantitative approach is merely a tool for finding a suitable solution, but is not a solution in itself. It has become a valuable supplement rather than a substitute for management and organization. The role of human skills and behavior cannot be ignored for the purpose of management. Even in highly computerized systems, the human element cannot be ignored. The use of computers has economized and facilitated many problems. The management does not need to resort to monotonous cumbersome processes but can easily and swiftly find the real problem or can diagnose the problem with real solutions. Computers have helped managements and people arrive at correct decisions which would not be possible without the use of quantitative techniques. This precise and prompt approach has also prevented other problems. The cost of communication and maintenance of huge files has been considerably reduced by the computerized management technique.

The System Approach: A system is a set of interconnected and inter-related elements of management activity. It is an arrangement of components of activities performed for achieving certain objectives. Thus, a system has three components: arrangement, objectives and a plan. The arrangement is designed and planned in an effective manner to achieve the objective. Men, materials and money are planned to achieve the objectives of the organization. Recently, it has been agreed that the organization is a system wherein operation, marketing, finance, etc. are subsystems. The modern organization theory believes in the General Systems Theory (GST) which is applicable to all scientific phenomena. Kenneth and Boulding have contributed a systems theory to establish to single, self-contained and generalized theory for particular disciplines. The system approach believes in a static structure and a dynamic and cybernetic system. It has increased mobility, technological behavior, self-awareness and the goal-directed approach. The system is an organization wherein the various components are subsystems which are managed and mobilized for attaining the organizational goals. It is an interconnected, interdependent and interacting arrangement of men and materials. For example, business is a social technical system, a plant is a botanical system, and a car is a mechanical system and so on.

Characteristics of the System Theory – A business or industrial organization has a system approach towards individuals, formal and informal organization’s status and role, process, resources and goals which are interlinked to attain objectives through a synergistic effect. The system approach is divided into closed and open systems. The open system consists of the input transformation process, output, feedback and environment. An organization is considered an open system because it continuously interacts with the external environment for survival. The closed system believes in internal management. It is like a closed loop which is autonomous and independent. It believes that the environment will not pose problems. Management of internal factors is basically useful for an organization. However, the closed system is not perpetual. It breaks down when the environment influences the working conditions. Modern Open Theory (MOT) discounts the environment effect. The open system is ready to be exposed to a spectrum of complex changes and challenges of the environment. It is well known as the modern open theory which is dynamic, adaptive, multilevel, multidimensional and multidisciplinary. It incorporates the elements of motivation which are important moving forces in an organization. The open system is multidisciplinary because it incorporates different disciplines in the organization. It depends on sociology, psychology, engineering, anthropology and son for managing different activities of corporate units. It is the base of formulating organizational structure, and has the capacity for adaptation to change. The informal organization and environmental conditions are giving due weight age under the open system. The modern open theory is empirical, analytical and systematic. It is an integrating theory having the characteristics of a subsystem, dynamism, multivariate, adaptive probabilistic multi-motivation and multidisciplinary and process setting. The theory has gained prominence because it has given due importance to interdependence, has synergism, wholesome boundaries, feedback and cybernetics. The open theory commonly used as a system approach believes in analytical detection of deviation from normal behavior and taking necessary and corrective action to eliminate the error. It is management by objectives. The system is self-regulatory and self-corrective through reception, controlling and affecting the process.
Use of System Theory in an Organization – An organization is considered a dynamic system which evaluates acts and interacts with the environment. It is open and incorporates all the changes and challenges of the social set up. The organization consists of interacting and interdependent subsystems. Each subsystem is defined with its objectives, structure, processes and promises. The interdependence of subsystems is so great that the success or failure of a subsystem will certainly influence other systems. The success of an organization depends on the process of each subsystem and proper evaluation of the elements of the environment, namely men, materials, money and other factors. A technical subsystem, social subsystem, psychological subsystem and structural subsystem are considered in the organization.

Technical subsystem: A technical subsystem is related to production functions. Job design, job description and job classification are involved in the technical subsystem. Technological development, mechanization, scientific management and rationalization are considered for the effective management of the organization. A technical subsystem is highly related to the social and social and psychological subsystem. If the employees’ behavior is satisfactory, the technical subsystem will work satisfactorily. The communication, decision-making process and other factors are important considerations under the technical subsystem.
The technical subsystem includes all functional areas, viz. marketing, production, finance and personnel, which are properly structured, and employees are assigned jobs in any of these areas, social and psychological subsystem. The employee’s behavior is influenced by their social backgrounds, education and work environment. Human relations and group dynamics are developed in the organization. The informal organization plays a significant role in the development of the organization. Satisfaction of human needs and motivation are essentially decided under the social and psychological subsystems. The sentiments, interests and attitudes of employees are the important factors to influence the productivity and efficiency of the organization. While performing their jobs, the employees try to get satisfaction. The informal and formal organization work together with great success; Men carry out functions according to sentiments, beliefs and interests. They are social creatures and expect social recognition; structural subsystem. The structural set up of an organization is the backbone of management. The structure provides power which may be formal and informal. The authority hierarchy is decided based on the structural system. Authority gives power which is used for transforming a decision into action. The structural subsystem is very important for the development and proper functioning of an organization.

In conclusion, there are several features of the modern theory that make it distinct from other sets of organizational theories, these are:
1. The modern theory considers the organization as an open system. This means an organization consistently interacts with its environment, so as to sustain and grow in the market. Since, the organization adopts the open system several elements such as input, transformation, process, output, feedback and environment exists. Thus, this theory differs from the classical theory where the organization is considered as a closed system.
2. Since the organization is treated as an open system, whose survival and growth is determined by the changes in the environment, the organization is said to be adaptive in nature, which adjusts itself to the changing environment.
3. The modern theory considers the organization as a system which is dynamic.
4. The modern theory is probabilistic and not deterministic in nature. A deterministic model is one whose results are predetermined and whereas the results of the probabilistic models are uncertain and depends on the chance of occurrence.
5. This theory encompasses multilevel and multidimensional aspects of the organization. This means it covers both the micro and macro environment of the organization. The macro environment is external to the organization, while the micro environment is internal to the organization.
6. The modern theory is multi-variable, which means it considers multiple variables simultaneously. This shows that cause and effect are not simple phenomena. Instead, the event can be caused as a result of several variables which could either be interrelated or interdependent.

This was my Class Assignment sometimes ago, I thought of sharing it with you, never can tell who this may help.

Assignment Topics:

1. DESIGN A MODEL ON CLASSICAL THEORIES, BEHAVIORAL PERSPECTIVE AND MODERN THEORIES
2. COMPARE AND CONTRAST THE CENTRAL CONCEPTS CLASSICAL ORGANIZATIONAL APPROACH AND BEHAVIORAL PERSPECTIVE
3. EXPLAIN THE DOMAIN OF MODEL THEORIES OF ORGANIZATION

Course Title: Organizational Models
Course Code: (BUS 826)

Department of Business Administration
Faculty of Business Administration
University of Lagos

INTRODUCTION:
This assignment is meant to broaden an individual student on the subject matter. Thus, this assignment will be more academic oriented if we could start by knowing the meaning of model being a key concept in this assignment. A model could be seen as pictorial, graphical, diagrammatic or mathematical simplified representation of real situation for easy understanding and interpretation.
QUESTION 1: DESIGN A MODEL ON CLASSICAL THEORIES, BEHAVIORAL PERSPECTIVE AND MODERN THEORIES

What is Classical Management Theory?
Classical management theory involves creating multiple levels of workers to improve productivity. Employees at the lowest levels find their tasks overseen by supervisors who, in turn, are overseen by managers. At every level, employees are expected to perform tasks according to specific procedures designed to maximize productivity. In addition, this theory focuses on an impersonal side of business. Employees and managers should not allow friendliness and personal interactions to become involved with the organization. Rules must be followed exactly, and the hiring and firing of employees must relate only to the skills they possess.
The classical approaches of management, which emerged from the Industrial Revolution, focus on improving the efficiency, productivity, and output of employees, as well as the business as a whole. However, it generally does not focus on human or behavioral attributes or variances among employees, such as how job satisfaction improves employee efficiency.
The Behavioral Perspective of Management
The behavioral perspective of management (sometimes called the “human relations perspective”) takes a much different approach from the classical perspective. It began in the 1920s with theorists such as Elton Mayo, Abraham Maslow, and Mary Parker Follett.
Model Theory

According to Business Jargons website, the Modern Theory is the integration of valuable concepts of the classical models with the social and behavioral sciences. This theory posits that an organization is a system that changes with the change in its environment, both internal and external.
In-line with the given assignment below is a model representing the three major models and their sub-classifications.

QUESTION 2: COMPARE AND CONTRAST THE CENTRAL CONCEPTS CLASSICAL ORGANIZATIONAL APPROACHES AND BEHAVIORAL PERSPECTIVE.

Classical organizational theories and behavioral theory represent two views of management on the opposite ends of the spectrum. One view focuses on looking at workers solely as a means to get work done, while the other focuses on developing an organization and the behaviors and motivations of employees. Most managers said that a combination of the two theories serves them best in their businesses management.
"Scientific management," an approach pioneered by Frederick Winslow Taylor (in fact, the approach is sometimes called "Taylorism". Taylor's focus was on industrial management. He was obsessed with fostering efficiency, and he suggested that managers do this in a number of different ways. First, he advocated specialization to the extreme. Workers should focus not just on a single job, but on a single task that was part of a rigid division of labor.
Management theory, acknowledging that in today's mostly post-industrial world, our expectations of employees are not to produce x number of widgets per hour, but to be creative, think critically, take the initiative, and solve problems. Behaviorism is not all that effective at motivating employees to succeed in this milieu.
To compare and contrast the classical theories and behavioral perspective which is also refers as human relations theories of management, we have:
• Classical management or organizational theories consist of three major schools of thoughts (Scientific Approach, Bureaucratic Approach and Administrative school of thought) in contrast to Behavioral perspective.

• Classical management theory includes the scientific management theory of Frederick W. Taylor, who pioneered the idea that each job should be studied carefully to ascertain its requisite components, as well as the skills and training necessary to complete each task, and that the gathering of this information should be used to create a quota, a minimum that each employee should be expected to produce. Otherwise, he thought, people would drag out tasks as much as possible, since their only motivation was a paycheck.

• Weber is also considered as part of the classical management school of thought. He theorized that a hierarchy in a business, with a stable cadre of administrators who ran the company, would provide a more stable and productive business environment. This was the origin of the bureaucracy, a term we use with derision today, but a concept that still has great utility. In government, the civil service employees comprise this cadre.

• Behaviorism, to be sure, concerns itself with the behavior of individuals, but it posits that behavior can be controlled through reward and punishment, reward being called positive reinforcement and punishment being called negative reinforcement. Management theory has gone beyond this for the most part in contemporary practices, focusing rather on what some call humanistic management theory, acknowledging that in today's mostly post-industrial world, our expectations of employees are not to produce x number of widgets per hour, but to be creative, think critically, take the initiative, and solve problems. Behaviorism is not all that effective at motivating employees to succeed in this milieu.

• The classical approaches of management emerged from the Industrial Revolution and focus on the efficiency, productivity, and output of employees as well as of the organization as a whole. It generally does not focus on human or behavioral attributes or variation among employees.

• Behavioral perspective focuses more on the individuals in a workplace than the rules, procedures and processes. Instead of directives coming directly from management, a human relations theory provides communication between employees and managers, allowing them to interact with one another to help make decisions. Instead of giving workers quotas and requiring certain procedures, workers are exposed to motivational and emotional tactics to get them to increase productivity. The focus of this style is creating fulfilled, productive workers and helping workers invest in a company.

• The classical perspective of management is often criticized for ignoring human desires and needs in the workplace and does not take into consideration human error in work performance. The classical perspective has strong influences on modern operations and process improvement.
• The behavioral perspective of management (sometimes called the “human relations perspective”) takes a much different approach from the classical perspective: it is generally more concerned with employee well-being and encourages management approaches that consider the employee as a motivated worker who genuinely wants to work.

• Classical management theory is not used in many organizations because of its shortcomings. While some components of the theory, such as designing procedures for completing a task and keeping personal issues out of business, help an organization focus on the job at hand, the theory fails to recognize the differences among employees. When employee feelings and opinions are not taken into account, the business may not grow or may experience high levels of employee turnover as employees fail to develop a relationship with the business and leave in search of a more satisfying job.
• While many companies operate based on the human relations theory, this type of management has dangers. Companies risk workers becoming too social or easily swayed by personal emotions and opinions when making decisions, rather than relying on hard data. It may be more difficult to reprimand employees for poor performance or dismiss them once they have become invested in the company. Despite these risks, human relations theory has the potential to increase employee retention rates and productivity. As employees feel more valued by a company, they invest in that company and its greater good
In conclusion:
While other management theories have evolved since then, classical management approaches are still used today by many small-business owners to build their companies and to succeed. One of the advantages of the classical management structure is a clear organizational hierarchy with three distinct management levels. Each management group has its own objectives and responsibilities. The top management is usually the board of directors or the chief executives who are responsible for the long-term goals of the organization. Middle management oversees the supervisors, setting department goals according to the approved budget. At the lowest level are the supervisors who oversee day-to-day activities, address employee issues and provide employee training. The levels of leadership and responsibilities are clear and well defined. While the three-level structure may not be suitable for all small businesses, it can benefit those that are expanding.
One of the advantages of classical management approach is the division of labor. Projects are broken down into smaller tasks that are easy to complete. Employees' responsibilities and expectations are clearly defined. This approach allows workers to narrow their field of expertise and to specialize in one area. The division of labor approach leads to increased productivity and higher efficiency, as workers are not expected to multitask. Small-businesses owners can benefit from taking this approach if they are looking to increase production with minimal expense.
According to classical management theory, employees should be motivated by monetary rewards. In other words, they will work harder and become more productive if they have an incentive to look forward to. This gives management easier control over the workforce. Employees feel appreciated when being rewarded for hard work. A small-business owner can take this approach to motivate the employees to achieve production goals.
The autocratic leadership approach is the central part of classical management theory. It states that an organization should have a single leader to make decisions, to organize and direct the employees. All decisions are made at the top level and communicated down. The autocratic leadership approach is beneficial in instance s when small-business decisions need to be made quickly by a leader, without having to consult with a large group of people, such a board of directors. Small businesses, especially sole proprietorships, can have an advantage in taking this approach, as they need a strong leader to grow.
The classical perspective of management theory pulls largely from these three theorists (Taylor, Weber, and Fayol) and focuses on the efficiency of employees and on improving an organization’s productivity through quantitative (i.e., measurable, data-driven) methods. The classical perspective is often criticized for ignoring human desires and needs in the workplace and typically does not take into consideration human error in work performance. The classical perspective has strong influences on modern operations and process improvement, which uses quantitative metrics to determine how effectively a process is running.

Career / How To Invest In Your Career If You Cannot Own A Business by kingsmonology(m): 3:33pm On May 24, 2018
How to become Successful on your career with IT Skills
How useful you could be with IT Skills in Today’s world. How you can advance your career with IT related skills on your field of endeavor; if you are not ready to own a business. Think alongside successful IT persons…Me and my IT skills.
Few days ago a friend said to me that everyone cannot own a business in the society; he was reacting to my recent publications. That there are people that are civil minded, that is to say, they are born into civil servant families that are monthly awaiting pay in nature. That this set of people will mostly not think of starting or owning a business due to their up-bringing environmental influence.
This I quietly agreed with him, on the same manner, I made him realized that I’m not talking to everyone, rather than some selection of people that will akin to my voice and take a bold step to better their life. Moreover everyone is not made to be rich. Is all about decisions, conviction and how determining you are in reaching your goals in life.

How to Be Creative with IT Skills
However, if you are career oriented which by my understanding does not stop you for owning a personal business, but can just be extremely creative and seriously skilled to advance your career path. Creativity is an innate thing; the ability to create is in you. Everyone has the potential to become creative, if only you can creatively think and take a bold step to actualize that your dream of becoming successful in life; it all begins now. The power of imagination can never be underestimated in human existence, every small and mighty software and gadgets you see out there are from people imaginary ideas with calculated effort.

Accounting IT Skills and Software
Let’s imagine an Accountant that does not know how to use Microsoft Suits, especially Excel more or less NetSuite, Xero. There are accounting software packages for all companies, from Intuit's Quickbooks for small to midsize businesses to offerings from Microsoft, SAP and Oracle for large enterprises. You should be able to explore all these are more. Some of the distinguishing features are functionalities in expense reporting, LIFO and FIFO inventory reporting, point-of-sale integration, batch management, document management and multicurrency transaction recording. Also important is where or how the accounting software is deployed - on-premises, hosted as software-as-a-service (SaaS), or in the cloud. There are generic accounting software packages that can be used right away for all types of companies, while other packages require customization for the specific needs of an industry or business, in all these you have to be chartered.
Creative Thinking Ability
The things you see around you today are as a result of persons’ creative thinking. Examples: Smart phones, search engines, laptops, Tv, Radio etc. technical knowhow is behind this creative products. That is to say, you can skill yourself alongside that your IT idea; imagined the innovation idea from Desktop, Laptop to Notebook. As an engineer for example you can think out of the box and learn the following soft skills and technical skills to make you competitive in the labour market.
1. Proper Thinking ability
2. Good in Electrical.
3. Have in depth knowledge on Analog electronics.
4. Good cost cutting and circuit optimisation skill.
5. Must know the value of time.
6. Very good and strong background in Linux and C.
7. IOT experienced.
8. Know embedded netwoking, RTOS application, Linux internals and debugging.
9. Digital-Analog PLC design skill.
10. Self-confident.
You and Your IT Skills
Now, think of what you want to achieved with your IT Skill or skills. It’s not all about working with already established organization, rather it’s all about what you can offer that organization that will make you relevant to such organization you wish to work or you are working with. In midst of nothing, you can make a difference with your IT skills by solving some technical IT issues; you can even develop software to tackle some IT challenges. So, what technical issues are solving for your organization? How relevant do you think you are currently with that establishment, oh! Probably, that is why you haven’t gotten yourself a good job.

The Story of Larry Page And Sergey Brin
Note: the more problems you solve the higher income you earned. Take the case study of Google, what actually started as a student project by two Stanford University students Larry Page and Sergey Brin in 1996. Which became the world most frequently used Web Search Engine on the internet with over a billion searchers per day in the year 2009.
Their creative thinking ability made them go beyond the search Engine to other innovative applications like Google Earth, Google Map, Gmail, Picasa, acquired Youtube and create Google Market.
The company grows tremendously from 10 employees working in a garage in Palo Alto to over 15 thousand employees across the globe. What a formula of creative thinking ability. Is admired around the world; within few years of operation, Google was ranked as the number one best to work on earth by Fortune Magazine in 2007.
Kingsmond.com team equally drew inspiration from this case study; why don’t you do the same today? Sit back and relax, think of what you can achieve with your various IT skills. Don’t let the economic situation put you down from taking this drastic action of being a boss.
You can research environmental based problem, provide a technical based solution to it like developing software that can solve the problem(s). This may require you to take a course or courses.

Having even a basic understanding of IT can open up a lot more opportunities in the workplace, whether you’re working in a shop, an office or elsewhere in industry.
Most employers today expect their staff to be able to use a computer and, used well, technology is a tool that can empower you and help you succeed.
IT qualifications are arguably the most important to be able to offer an employer.
The ability to use more common programs such as Microsoft Word or Excel or specialized programs, such as the bookkeeping program Intuit QuickBooks, can mean that you have advanced computer skills that other candidates do not, and you may get hired into the company because you are able to use those programs at an intermediate or advanced level. You could make more money or get hired for a high-level job because you are able to use most programs. I Advocate for Startup Business, It is my constituency.

Thanks for letting me share little...

Business / How To Get Business Ideas by kingsmonology(m): 10:15am On May 12, 2018
How to get business ideas
Most times if not often, can be so difficult; nevertheless, I promised to share with you in details how to generate or get business ideas for the type of business you will like to go into; bearing it in your mind that every business starts with an idea. As soon as an idea comes to you capture it, preserve it, and apply it as we have previously agreed on.

The following point could guide you to choose the right business to start.

Your talents and gifts

One way to get business idea(s) is through talents and gifts are God given resources, take advantage of any special talent and gift you have. We all have gifts and talent the world needs, don’t trivialize your talent. Most times people assume that because you can easily do something almost everyone else can do it. It’s not so. Your talent is not common. Once you recognize it, respect it and do something about it. Talents and gifts are always in raw forms, you have to refine, nurture and develop them. For instance, a footballer is endowed with football skills, but to become a world class player, it requires lots of practice. Some even go for morning and evening training to get fitted. How about singing talent? You might have a good voice, but you need to practice singing very often to become a good musician like 2baba or better.

Having a look at your Accomplishment and Experience in Life

Have a look at your achievement and experience in life could serve as a point of business idea. What are your educational qualifications, achievements, trainings, previous work experiences, and exposure? This could in a way be a pointer to starting a business. For example if you have studied a particular course in school, you might start a business in that area. My very own good friend, the CEO of Jovi Paints, studied petrol Chemical Engineering at a reputable university in Nigeria, after two years of searching for job, she decided to produce her first paint for a neighbour who paid her penny. Today as we speak, she has over 10 employees within two years of operating and she is under 30 years of age.

Consider doing something to star a business today, is never too late to start. A graduate of mechanical engineering can start a mechanic garage; an estate management graduate can start a real estate business, a chemical engineering can start producing paints, perfumes, soaps, a graduate of psychology can start a research firm, and so on.

However, note that the experience and knowledge acquired from school is not enough to start a business. You need to get practical knowledge. A graduate of engineering might need to go to an artisan to learn.
Two ingredients are needed to achieve this:

Humility
The willingness to invest our time to get knowledge

The fact is, the time spent at this stage is not time wasted, it is time invested wisely and you will definitely get returns on your investment.

What is your passion?
Another way to get business ideas is through what you like doing. What you are passionate about; your side activities, hobbies or interests can be turned to a business idea. That is, it can be monetized. I’m passionate about writing, I have been able to monetize it by writing for contents platform like freelancer.com, and I get paid for it.

What do you always think about? What makes you angry when you see it or what makes you cry? All this can describe your passion. It is advisable that you are passionate about any business that you are starting. Passion will drive you even when it looks there is no hope. The beginning of business is always rough, but passion will keep you going.

The story of Mrs. Kehinde Kamson, the founder/ CEO of sweet Sensation, one of foremost quick service restaurant in Nigeria is an example of turning passion to business. She left her high pay corporate job, as an accountant in an oil firm, to do what she enjoys doing-baking.

Taking Advantage of opportunities

… Productivity become pronounced when opportunity meet preparation. How prepared are to take advantage of opportunity?

You have to able to recognize opportunities and some say, opportunity some disguising as problems. Look for the opportunity and take advantage of it. It could be the job or business opportunity you have been waiting for. Every successful businessman has taken advantage of one opportunity or the other.

Bill Gate is one good example of such person that was able to take advantage of an opportunity and today he is better of it as CEO, Microsoft… I assumed we know the rest of the tale, being the richest man and so on.

Find People’s Need and Fill it.

One unique thing about problem when it comes to business is the more problems you solve for people, the more money you make. For example, Banks take the risk of keeping your money, they give it out for loans without seeking your permission and they are making interest on it. Successful entrepreneurs help people to solve problem(s). The good thing about it is that the more problems they solve the more money they make, ask Yomi Casual.
The way to factor this is to look at your own needs, your needs may be other people’s needs. You can also look at what is missing in your neighbourhood and be the one to supply them. Human needs are insatiable; that takes me back to psy 101, people have a whole lot of needs, find it and fill it. The key to doing this is to carry out comprehensive research, well! I can help you to do that, just find a way to reach me. Talk to people directly to find out what their needs are.

Discover the what, who, when, where, why and how of meeting those needs; you will be good to start a business.

Look for Problems to Solve

You will agree with me that business is about problem solving, if you make clothes like Yomi Casual, Audio clothing, you are solving the problem of unclothedness, if you start running a school, you are solving the problem of ignorance, if you produce or sell food you are solving the problem of hunger. Problem solving is the quickest way to rise. Fine a problem and solve it, you have a business in your hand.
A take home story to back up this point>>>

Business / How To Choose A Business To Start In Lagos, Abuja, Nigeria, Africa by kingsmonology(m): 11:53pm On May 09, 2018
How to Choose a Business to Start

How to start a business can be confusing especially, if you are not in mentorship scheme like an average eastern Nigerian person serving a master, hoping to settle and kickoff. Many aspiring entrepreneurs are at a loss to what kind of business to start. They dream of becoming successful entrepreneurs and controlling their financial destiny, but do not know what business will get them there. If you are in that position, know you are not alone. It is a common challenge to good ideas out there; most of us equally go through same state of mind.
Choosing a Business to Start
However, choosing a business to start in this part of the world, realize that there are many good ideas out there. You need to open your eyes, your mind and think hard enough to come up with a breakthrough idea.

Start a business may seem easy when you have a breakthrough idea either through what you study in school; learn on jobs, mentorship schemes, in-house training and so on, with reasonable capital or reliable source of funding the business idea. But the truth remains, starting a business in this part of the world is not that easy; if it was easy everyone would have start running one. However, there are a number of reasons why it is advisable to consider starting a business or be an entrepreneur. One of the most important reasons is that; it is the fastest way to build wealth. I will share with you 6(six) powerful reasons why you should start a business or be an entrepreneur in my next publication; so what out for it. It promises to be impactful and captivating.
Is there a Need to Start a Business with Few Patronage?
A good point to note is that whatever the goods you want to sell or services you want to render; you must ensure that there are enough buyers of such goods or services who will be willing and able to buy. There is no need starting a business that only a few people will patronize, make sure that the market is big enough. It should go beyond the need of your family and friends only; I reckon that the market is not big enough if you are in that scenario.
How to Start a Business
Every might and small business starts with an ideal. An idea is the engine of any business or venture. What is an idea? In business world, an idea is that thing, that gap you want to bridge that in return gives you income. In other words, an idea is not tangible and not visible but you can only be seen with the mind.
Imagination has a very big and important role to play in your quest to start your business. If you cannot see it, you cannot conceive it. This is philosophy of imaginary power of the mind; it is where your idea first takes place. Never underestimate the power of the mind. You must be able to see the end from the beginning. To generate business ideas, your mind needs to be active and problem solving oriented.
Importance of ideas to start a business
Your idea should be strong enough to withstand the test of time. The idea stage of any business is very importance because it lays foundation. It is like house foundation, the stronger it is, the better it becomes. If the foundation is solid, the structure will be rock solid, but if the foundation is weak there will be little or nothing the builders can do. A weak foundation will hinder the future growth of your business.
How Idea brings Success in a Business
How do good ideas bring success or make you succeed in a business? However, having just an idea is not good enough. It is the implementation of the idea that determines success which is the key focus here. As a business psychologist and strategist, I have seen and heard about some great ideas that failed as a result of implementation. Implementation of an idea or the process of implementation is the key to success. Notwithstanding, the idea stage should not be longer than necessary. Every pregnancy has time frame! There is time for everything under the sky! “When idea stays longer than necessary it becomes procrastination”. Kingsmond Ehimare.

How to Get Business Ideas

The best idea will most times come to you when you are in a quiet environment or when you are alone. So I suggest you create quiet time for yourself at least one a week. It is advisable to have a writing material around you always. Once it come write down. Use the note pad on your phone or SMS to achieve this if becomes necessary to replace pen and jotter. Capture it immediately it comes to you; don’t think you will write it down later the chances that you will remember all are very slim. As soon as an idea comes to you capture it, preserve it, and apply it.

Family / Types Of Men In Relationship by kingsmonology(m): 11:16pm On Feb 10, 2018
In the world of relationship, there are four categories of men you must know, these include: Boy, Player, Confused Man and Real Man. A boy will always be a boy regardless of his age. Growing up and growing old is never the same; while growing up is optional by choice, a boy is careless about what makes you happy as a woman.

About A Boy In A Relationship

He knows nothing about putting home together, he is not ready to do something about that; the woman will do the thinking and the decisions, he's only concernes about his mode of dressing. A boy is loose, he'll kiss and tell anything about his relationship with just anybody even to extend of telling how good or bad she is on bed.

Ever when he's married to a good woman, he prefers discussing with his mom than his wife, even makes his mother next of kin. He'll never wants to grow, he knows nothing about responsibility. He will says in his heart, I don't have any business with future!

He will never wants to pay any bill, he will beat his wife and kicks her out whenever she tells him there are needs at home. He will rather hangout with friends or play games than to stays with his family at home. When A boy marries a matured woman, he'll turns her into a girl; this is because she will starts behaving like a girl over time. She'll changes from being that peaceful woman to that nagging young girl.

A boy can easily gets intimidated with his woman position, status and feels insecure. He'll always wants to fight for respect; demand respect by force. Is difficult to communicate with him, a boy always thinks he's right. He feel superior, he thinks he's doing his woman a favor by dating or marrying her. In his heart he feels he's somebody , while his woman is nobody.

Is better to be single than to date A Player. A woman in a relationship with a player is most likely to end up in pain, heart broke no matter how much she tries to nurture the relationship. He'll never stays faithful to one woman no matter how she tries to be faithful to him. Most women fall for Players because they appear attractive and presentable. Players have something extra ordinary about them, he can be rich, famous, tall, handsome, romantic, talented, good in bed and possess most qualities woman want in a guy.

He'll sweep you off your feet at the beginning, and makes you believed you're the luckiest woman on earth. He'll tell you what you love to hear and show you what you love to see; he'll makes unbelievable promises like 'I will love forever' he'll get things into your hear and take control of your head.

Family / Tips On How To Know If Your Guy Really Loves You by kingsmonology(m): 3:54pm On Feb 03, 2018
Few days ago, I was listening to a renowned Nigeria gospel preacher, he was talking on how to know if your intending spouse really love you, before you can get fully involve as a couple. Intelligently, he dished out many reasonable points which are very much month watering and triggering. Agreeably, love is a wonderful thing which takes heart to feel, which could be practically demonstrated in diverse ways and diverse means and in a practicable sense. What is love i an actual sense if I may ask? It’s complex to define love with just two or three words. Well! We could find out before the end of this article, as it’s relatively suit to the definers. For instance, what Lucy perceived to be love may not be to Comfort.

According to him, one of the ways to know if your man really love you is when he is able to demonstrate consistently that out of sight is not out of mind, that is, a man that love his woman will not forget things they both planned to do, will often wants to reach her in terms of frequent communication and possibly with gift items and paying attention to details on things that concerns her. Though, with the exception of persons with memory impairment (disorder). Secondly, a man that does not keeps to his promises to you as a woman, often, may be as result of not truly in love with you. Boyfriend that tells his wife to be lies doesn’t really love the woman, because love is associated with honesty. It’s like bed rock of love; trust brings love and unity in relationships.

Family / Simple Remedies For A Broken Heart by kingsmonology(m): 9:27pm On Sep 16, 2017
Broken heart feelings can be so devastating, for those of us that have suffered it always have stories to tell, it like a dark moment or period in life. Well! Is never a thing one plan for, it comes most times when one least expect it, so let’s find out some simple remedies for a broken heart.

Though the science is completely understood, there is evidence that married people live longer than their single counterparts. Taking it a step further, we could say that people really do die from broken hearts. If you have been through a break up recently, then it’s perfectly natural for you to want a remedy for a broken heart. I’m not going to sugarcoat it and pretend that everything will be perfect overnight, or that it will be easy, but I will tell you that you will find relief if you stick to a few basic steps.

1. Make a commitment to feeling better. This is not the time to be wishy-washy; you have to make the decision that you want your broken heart to get better. No wasting time on needless guilt. No wasting time on wondering what could have been. No making yourself some sort of self-styled relationship martyr. None of those things are a remedy for a broken heart. Instead, what you need to do is decide that you are going to feel better, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but you will feel better.

2. Get your emotions in check. Break ups can wreak havoc on your emotions, but the sooner you can get them under control, the better. That’s not to say that you should repress your emotions or pretend that they’re not there. Doing that may feel good for a while, but then your unresolved emotions will pop up in unexpected ways. So, you need to face them head on and do your best to get past them.

3. Accept how things are, not how you wish they were. This is one of the most important parts of any remedy for a broken heart. There is a sort of grieving process that goes on after a break up, and denial is a common reaction. If you are fantasizing about how good things really are when you know deep down that they are bad, and then you need a reality check. Things will not improve if you let your imagination get the better of you. Accepting things as they are will allow you to deal with them, and that brings us to the next step.

4. Be happy and move on. Ha! Ha! Ha! Right? It’s so easy to give out this advice, but it feels impossible when you are still stinging from a break up. However, if you follow all of the steps above, then you will eventually start to feel better. How long it takes will vary depending on how deeply you were into the relationship, what type of person you are, and how well you do the above steps. Regardless, the important thing to remember is that you really will be happy again.

The remedy for a broken heart isn’t always easy to do, but it can be done if you are serious about wanting to feel better. Give it time and keep working on healing.

Family / Things Every Lady Must Know About Relationships by kingsmonology(m): 3:52pm On Sep 04, 2017
To say the world of dating is filled with potential for missteps is an understatement. It seems as though you can do the wrong thing at any given moment when dating. To make things worse, the guy you’re interested in may never say a word about what you’re doing wrong; giving you a chance to dig a deeper hole. What you really need are some dating tips for women that will keep you on the right track.

What you must Know #1 – Forget your ex. sounds easy, right? It’s one of the main rules of dating and everybody knows it. That may be true in theory, but in reality, exes come up all too often in conversation. This tip is especially important during earlier dates.

The problem is that if you say something bad about your ex, then your date will see you as negative, and he will wonder what you’re going to say about him. On the other hand, if you something good about your ex, then your date will wonder if you still have feelings for your ex. Either way, you aren’t going to look good by bringing up your ex, so don’t do it. Keep your attention on the person you’re with and you will do fine.

What you must Know #2 – Don’t be phony. I’ll let you in on a little secret: Guys are pretty simple. However, guys do not like phoniness. Be yourself. When you pretend to be somebody you’re not, it will make you uncomfortable, and this can show through in other ways. Also, what happens if things go well? You can’t live a lie forever. Let the guy like you for who you are.

What you must Know #3 – Slow down! Men and women are different and tend to have different goals. One of the traps a lot of women fall into, without thinking about it, is to talk about wanting a family and lasting relationship on the first or second date. While it’s not always the case, most men will be scared off and prefer to take things as the come. Give it time and ease into it.

What you must Know #4 – Don’t negate compliments. This is one of those tricky dating tips for women. This is what happens…the guy says something nice and then she starts to contradict the compliment. He mentions how nice your blouse looks, and you point out the microscopic stain that your dry cleaner missed, or you mention how it’s just some old thing you threw on. Not a good move. Instead, be polite and offer a simple thank you with a smile.

What you must Know #5 – Speak your mind. Maybe a bit of clarification is in order on this one. What it means is that it’s okay to share your opinion. There are some lists of dating tips for women that suggest you should just agree with whatever position your date has. Forget it! Nobody agrees on everything, and a lot of guys want somebody they can have real conversations with. Don’t get into an argument, don’t be rude, but do feel free to share your opinion on things.

Family / Major Reasons Women Easily Get Dumped By Nigerian Men by kingsmonology(m): 12:51pm On Aug 29, 2017
Different women get dumped by their man for different reasons, all the same, it is quite sad when a relationship ends and when a woman is dumped she will feel sad, angry and rejected. It is a very discouraging time in a woman’s life to be dumped by the person she so deeply loves. Being dumped will leave behind a feeling of pain and confusion, especially if it was unexpected.

At one time it seemed that it was always the woman that dumped the man, but I think the tables have turned and now men are doing their fair share of the dumping. The problem with when a man dumps a woman is that he is not as sympathetic and not so good at explaining why the relationship is over. Often a woman is left shocked and wondering what went wrong and really has no idea of the motive to his decision.

So why do men dump women? Here are the top few reasons why men end relationships.
1. Communication – or lack of it
The key to any successful relationship is good communication and if a couple are struggling to communicate then there are serious problems with the relationship. Lack of communication is one of the top reasons why men break up with women.

2. Over-demanding women
At the beginning of a relationship women take men for who they are and all is good. But as time goes on, some women will start to become quite demanding of their man. Women sometimes like to have control in a relationship and may enforce too many rules and limits on their partner. As the relationship becomes more serious they will expect the man to start spending more time at home and less time out with friends. If a man isn’t ready to change his life to suit the ‘couple’ lifestyle then this can be too much pressure for him. Putting too much pressure and too many demands on a man is a big reason for many break ups.

3. Needy women
Men like to play the role of the big hero and so it can give their ego a nice boost when a woman plays the ‘damsel in distress’ role. However, this is alright once in a while but a man will get quite annoyed with a woman if she is constantly needy and reliant on him. Although it is good to rely on a man to some degree, a woman still needs some degree of independence. A man will lose respect for a woman who is too clingy and can’t do anything for herself. It can even become a bit creepy if a woman develops an obsession for the man and won’t let him out of her site. When she expects him to spend every free minute with her, he will feel smothered and need to escape. When the relationship gets to this point, the man will escape by breaking up with the woman.

There are many reasons why men dump women, but these are three very common ones. Don’t think that your relationship is fine because it’s women that do the dumping, it’s not the case anymore. Men also hold the power of a relationship in their hands. If you find yourself in the situation of being dumped by a man, you can try communicating with him to see if there is any chance of salvaging the relationship. If he has no interest at all in reconciling then you need to accept that the relationship is over and perhaps learn from the mistakes you may have made.

4Excessive Nagging
Deliberately finding faults in your man on every steps he takes, even in conversation with you, overbearing attitudes, hash and commanding tune, excessive jealous, over-stressing issue, etc. can only lead to dump. This particular aspect has made many men seek refuge in hand of other women and thereby calling it a quit with the other who feels she is been dumped and rejected, without thinking inwardly to see what is actually responsible. This has really destroyed so many relationships; believe me, you can actually workout the nagging behavior, just read this tips on how to control nagging behavior. First and foremost, you have to accept it’s a challenge that you’re willing to modify.

Family / Re: A Tested Ways On How To Win Back An Ex-relationship by kingsmonology(m): 10:39am On Aug 11, 2017
In a perfect world, a breakup would be quick, easy and painless. You and your ex would mutually decide to go your separate ways, and you both would move on to find someone else who is more compatible with you. You would both just take the good things you learned during the relationship and that would be it. But in real life, it doesn’t always happen this way. Many times, a breakup can trigger something inside of you that makes you instantly realize that parting with your ex was a huge mistake. Maybe you broke up with him over something petty, or perhaps it was just bad timing when the two of you started your relationship.

If you’re considering getting back with your ex, you have to make sure your decision is based on all the right reasons. Nothing sucks more than rekindling the romance, only to watch it go up in flames a second time around. You don’t want to go running back to your ex just because you’re lonely.

When you were younger, you probably didn’t realize the amount of work that needed to be put into a relationship in order for it to last. This is why many relationships during your teen and early-20s never seemed to have a happy ending. But as time passes by, you grow up, you mature, and you and your ex may now be better equipped to handle and tackle the ups and downs of an adult relationship. If it has been many numerous years since the two of you went your separate ways, now may be just the right time to give love another shot.
Family / A Tested Ways On How To Win Back An Ex-relationship by kingsmonology(m): 7:00pm On Aug 10, 2017
Getting dumped by the person you love is never a pleasant experience. Maybe you saw it coming and had hoped you could delay the inevitable, or maybe it hit you out of the blue and you felt dumbstruck. Regardless of how it happened, you have decided that you would like to work things out and get back together. If that’s the case, then you need a proven plan to win back an ex. The following article will help you to do it, and do it in a way that will strengthen your future relationship after you get back together.

Your natural reaction to win back an ex will be to call them as much as possible and to shower them with gifts. In other words, you want to make it more than obvious that you still love them and that you want to make up. This rarely works out; what you need is a different approach. Using a low-key, well thought out approach will give you the best opportunity for success. Here’s how to do it:

Step 1: Do nothing. That’s right, the first thing you should do is nothing. You and your ex both need time to think about things, and if you jump too fast, you will risk pushing them even further away. There is no set amount of time that you should wait, but you should err on the side of caution. Anywhere from two to four weeks is usually good, but you know your ex best, so use your best judgment.

Step 2: Make the initial contact. After you have both had enough time to come to terms with the break up, it’s time to get in touch with your ex. You can either send a hand-written letter or call them on the phone (texting and e-mail should not be used for this step), then wait for them to respond. You have to assume that they got your message, and now you need to wait until you hear from them. It will take a lot of patience, but if you gave the first step enough time, it shouldn’t take too long to hear from them.

Step 3: The next step of a proven plan to win back an ex is to see each other face-to-face. Talk things over, but do not argue. Keep things calm and respectful. A short conversation is fine. Your goal is not to work everything out in one meeting, but rather to have another meeting.

Step 4: Take it slowly. It may drive you crazy, but you need to proceed slowly. This will help you to get back with each other, and it will also set you up to have an even stronger relationship in the future.

By having a proven plan to win back an ex, you will be more likely to work things out. It takes time and effort to make it happen, but it will be a wise investment when the two of you are happily together again.

You are encouraged to share to help someone that may really needs this piece of information for life changing tool. Thanks.

Family / How To Beautify Your Face With Facial Scrub And Make Your Face Radiant by kingsmonology(m): 12:17pm On Aug 02, 2017
Facial scrub can make your skin look beautiful, make you feel younger, soft skin, and glowing. Unlik your regular bathing soap or skin cleanser, a facial scrub uses small particles, beads, or chemicals to get rid of the old skin layers and make way for new ones in a process known as exfoliation. Scrubbing process is actually simple: to use a facial scrub, choose a natural or chemical scrub suited for your skin type, massage the scrub into damp skin for one minute, then rinse and moisturize your skin. Repeat once or twice a week. With all of its benefits, you should consider making a facial scrub a part of your weekly skin care routine.

The first step to consider is getting a natural or chemical scrub that suit your skin; to do this is better to walk up to your beautician to help access your skin type, for those of you that know their skin type, walk up to cosmetics shop and get the scrub of your choice. Not everyone should exfoliate their skin using a facial scrub. For example, persons with rosacea, warts, inflammatory acne, or herpes might find their conditions exacerbated by exfoliating scrubs. If you have a history of skin problems, you should consult your dermatologist to determine what kind of skin care regime is most appropriate for you.
Different kinds of skin will react differently to facial scrubs and other products, and some facial scrubs are designed for your particular skin type. Perhaps you already know whether you have normal, dry, oily, or combination skin. If not, you might want to determine your skin type using a tissue test.

Steps for your facial
Wash your face to ensure that there are no products or cosmetics remaining on your skin.
Allow your face to air-dry and wait at least one hour.
Dab a tissue to your forehead, nose, chin, cheeks, and temples.
If the tissue sticks, that is an indication that the skin is oily. If the tissue does not stick, that is an indication that the skin is dry. If your t-zone (forehead, nose, and chin) are oily but the rest of your face is dry, that is an indicator of combination skin.
Your skin might also be more or less sensitive to skin care products. Usually people with sensitive skin have dry skin or combination skin, but this is not always the case. If your face has reacted poorly to cosmetics or facial products in the past, you might have sensitive skin. Signs of skin sensitivity include redness, uncharacteristic breakouts, bumps, peeling, itchiness, or soreness.

Choose the best facial scrub for your skin type. Most commercial facial scrubs will state whether they are appropriate for dry, oily, combination, normal, or sensitive skin. Some facial scrubs will also be appropriate for all skin types. However, there are some general guidelines for matching a facial scrub to your skin type:

Facial scrubs made with apricot pits, walnut shells, almonds, or aluminum oxide tend to be better for skin that is oily and not sensitive.[
Facial scrubs made with plastic beads, alpha hydroxy, or beta hydroxy tend to be better for skin that is dry or sensitive

Some scrubs can be stored in the shower, which is convenient for your routine. However, some scrubs are more effective if stored in a cool, dry place such as a medicine cabinet, linen closet, or kitchen cupboard. Follow the recommendations of the product label if you are using a commercial scrub. If you are making your own facial scrub, follow the recipe’s recommendations.

Read: Types of Facial Mask for a Specific type of Skin and How to Use it

Often pay particular attention to product warnings, expiration dates, possible allergens, or adverse interactions with other facial products. Some facial scrubs are meant solely for exfoliating but do not cleanse the skin, which means you have to wash your face before using the scrub in order for it to be effective.

Be part of this, simply, send us how you were able to treat any skin abnormalities; we’ll be glad you did and you may stand a chance to win a set of Julep Scrub and other cosmetics courtesy of: Kcmond’s Cosmetics Affair.
