Politics / 2019: APC Jittery As Leaked Results From INEC Server Shows Atiku Won (photos) by kitanga: 3:06pm On Mar 27, 2019
Buba Galadima, a spokesman for the Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organisation, on Tuesday while speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today insisted that the result of the presidential election which saw President Muhammadu Buhari emerge as winner, is not only false but criminal.

“With the records available to us and from what we have gathered from the field and the other sources, our candidate Atiku Abubakar was the one that had overwhelmingly won the confidence and the votes of Nigerians to become the President of Nigeria and that will not be in dispute when we reach the courtroom,” Galadima said.

In a counter-petition to the earlier claims, the APC Campaign Council had asked the Inspector-General of Police and the Director-General of the Department of State Services to use their “good offices to investigate the hacking of and/or illegal tampering with the INEC server by the PDP”.

Galadima, however, claims it was a proof that they were jittery.

“They shouldn’t be jittery because they know that they didn’t perform. They know that they did not win the elections so they are resorting to blackmail and calling names,” he added.

Checks by DAILYVIBES reveals that FACTSDONTLIENG.COM has published all the information leaked from INEC server

Education / 2019/2020 List Of Scholarship Opportunities In German Universities by kitanga: 1:21pm On Feb 16, 2019
There’s no other country except Germany, where the cost of studying and the quality of higher education don’t change proportionally. At present, a majority of universities in Germany carry no tuition fees, but on the other hand, they are some of the best worldwide.

On the other hand, living expenses in Germany are significantly lower than in the most popular study destinations.

But, when it comes to the number and the money allocated for scholarships,Germany’s attractiveness peaks with its generosity. If you’re studying in Germany and not seeking a scholarship then you’re absolutely missing out on a great opportunity because there are many.

Taking your pick is the very first step in this process. There’s more to know and do in order for you to grab a scholarship in Germany. In a brief and concise way, we’ve outlined some of the best scholarships in Germany for students

Government-funded scholarships:

The Deutschlandstipendium

The Deutschlandstipendum is a German national scholarship platform which joints together almost every university in Germany. Its mission is to target and provide financial or non-material aid to talented students. The funding amounts to 300€ per month and is provided equally by the government and the university. Commonly it is granted for two semesters, but it may also be granted for the entire course.

Every student enrolled in a German university, regardless of his nationality or his parent’s income is allowed to apply for such scholarships. Specific details may vary from university to university since they set them on their own based upon their internal scholarship policy. So, before thinking of applying check personally the university’s site and read carefully the application section

Politics / How Local Govts Were Paid N20m To 'purchase' People For Buhari's Rallies -galadi by kitanga: 1:45pm On Feb 04, 2019
PDP's Presidential Campaign Spokesperson, Mr Buba Galadima says the mammoth crowd seen at venues of recent APC rallies are charades, he claims that the people were paid to attend the presidential campaigns of the ruling party.

Galadima made this assertion while appearing as a guest on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.

The spokesman of the PDP presidential campaign alleged that at “Every campaign that Buhari goes to in an APC-controlled state, local governments are empowered with twenty to forty-five million naira to purchase people and bring them to these rallies, and suddenly Buhari starts addressing the crowd and they all disappear because they must fulfil the contract for which they were brought in “.

The Elder Statesman claimed that in Kaduna, Atiku gathered twice the number that Buhari gathered, adding that the same feat was experienced in Kano.

“One Local Government rally by Kwankwaso is more than the global rally that was organised for Buhari after spending nearly one billion naira” Galadima said.

He also said that the present government is a government of exclusion, adding that it is a government operating on the theories of nepotism and bedevilled by corruption.

Galadima said, “It is shameful that somebody who rides on the issue of corruption will raise the hand of a thief, certified crook, and say this is our candidate”.

“In Kano, you have seen the President raising the hand of a corrupt individual, a corrupt person that the whole nation has seen taking bribes, they are talking of corruption, that man belongs to them.

“They brought people from Niger, my good friend the Sultanate of Damagaram and two Governors from the Niger Republic, are already telling us that they will bring aliens to vote for them,” Galadima alleged.

Career / 7 Vital Steps To Study In Germany (checklist) by kitanga: 12:12am On Feb 03, 2019
If you are looking for information on what is exactly required to study in Germany or you are muddled about what steps you have to take, then this article is for you.
I have simplified the entire process of studying in Germany as an international student (Nigerian) into 7 vital steps. If you follow these steps one by one, you should be able to keep track of where you are right now and what you have to do to achieve your dream of studying in Germany.

Below are the 7 Vital Steps:

Search For Study Program.
Meet All Criteria/Requirements.
Try Learn Basic German Language.
Look For Financial Resources.
Apply For Admission.
Apply For Your German Student Visa.
Search For Accommodation.

1. Search For Study Program
Your first step is finding a university and selecting a study program that suits your interests. There are many universities and several study programs out there irrespective of your area of specialization, there’ll definitely be a study program that may match your learning aspirations and future plans.

Here is the list of top universities in Germany as of 2018.

2. Meet All Criteria/Requirements
Now that you simply have settled for a university and study program you must check out all the requirements. For this purpose, you check the university web site and their admission needs section. If there are stuff you don’t understand , don’t hesitate to contact the university directly.

Entry needs are totally different for each the university and also the kind of course you decide on, therefore it’s suggested to scan go through requirements section multiple times.

Bad Bad schedule and missing documents are the foremost common problems that happen at this stage and each will cause delayed admission or maybe rejected applications. To avoid such chance you need to prepare these documents early enough.

Further legalizations of your documents might have an identical time interval till they’re issued to you. Taken any occasional delay originating from the nature of the method, you need to begin making ready your documents a minimum of four months before applying for admission at the university.

3. Learn Basic German Language
Learning German from scratch might be tough, but if you start at the time you come to Germany you will end up speaking German. Your success at university depends upon your skills in the German language, even if your is program is in English Language. We recommend starting at least 6 months ahead of the beginning of one’s course (or until the application form if German language proficiency is a requirement) to acquire a basic comprehension of the German language.

Having a comprehension in the German language guarantees you will understand study materials and also what is taught in lectures.

4. Find Financial Resources
The next step is ensuring you have the finances that are required to study and live from Germany. For the existing law, each foreign non-EU or non-EEA student should have proper ways to finance their stay throughout their studies.

Being a international student in Germany, you should have a minimum of 8,640 euros that will be enough to pay the worth of living for the first year of one’s studies. This minimum quantity of money has to be paid into a German blocked account.

For an foreign student, It may take some time to gather and really is a huge amount of money. It’s suggested you start saving cash a long time prior to starting your university application method, except you’re awarded a scholarship.

5. Apply For Admission
Submit the application after cross-checking requisite documents. Applications are mostly done online, tho some schools may want to receive applications only in person or by post.

Contact your university to see you which way you can submit your application. Many German universities are part of the national university online application platform known as UniAssist. Also, there are universities that run their own online admission platform on their website.

You must submit your application once the call for application is opened and then wait for the admission letter.

6. Get Your German Student Visa
In the event you are students originating from a non-EU and non-EEA country you must get yourself a German student visa. To do so, you must first reach the German embassy in your home country as soon as you get the admission letter and request step by step guidance about the best way to get your student visa.

By the moment you contact the embassy personally, make sure to have proper financial means of studying in Germany. Furthermore, they’ll ask that you get health insurance before they issue your student visa.

7. Find Accommodation
(If possible two weeks before your landing in Germany)

Now that you are officially an admitted student in Germany and also you have your student visa you need to consider an area in which to stay.

Accommodation for international students isn’t so costly but as a foreign student, you need to work hard to locate the most financially appropriate place for yourself.

We advise that you give priority to this as it can cost you plenty of time that you would use to study. Bearing that in mind, you may try to locate an accommodation online before landing in Germany.

Ultimately, unless you find something which fits for you personally, atleast there are resources to contact to secure your accommodation the day you land in Germany. Much like the steps explained above, you should find accommodation after you gain your student visa.

Politics / Breaking: EFCC Set To Probe Oshiomhole by kitanga: 9:15am On Nov 12, 2018
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC is set to reportedly probe the national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Adams Oshiomhole over allegations of financial impropriety leveled against him and his Chief of Staff, Abbas Braimoh.

A member of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the anti-graft agency will invite Oshiomhole for interrogation over the allegations as they constitute financial crime.

He revealed that there were series of petitions forwarded to the anti-graft agency by some aggrieved stakeholders of the party over the primaries. He said;

“From available information, I believe the EFCC is looking into the matter and the national chairman and his Chief of Staff may be invited this week. Aside the DSS, some aggrieved members also petitioned the EFCC, alleging that the recently concluded primaries were marred by bribery allegations.

“While many of the aspirants didn’t come out in the open, we have seen people like Osita Okechukwu, the Director-General of the Voice of Nigeria (VON), who pointedly accused Oshiomhole of corruptly enriching himself through the primaries. He also urged the DSS and EFCC to immediately probe the call logs of Oshiomhole.

“So, I believe the EFCC will begin its probe this week. Those who wrote the petition will be made to present their facts while the national chairman will defend himself”, he said.

“What happens, thereafter, will determine the fate of the national chairman”, he noted.

On whether President Muhammadu Buhari will not intervene just as he was reported to have done when Oshiomhole was grilled by the DSS, another source in the presidency said while he was not aware of the EFCC case, the president will not intervene if indeed Oshiomhole is found guilty.

“I don’t think the president will shield him or prevent EFCC from doing its job. If you know, the president has always given the EFCC a free hand to investigate anyone no matter how highly placed. The president will not stop EFCC from doing its job.

“Remember, the general election is just few weeks away and one of the campaign promises is the fight against corruption. So, how can it be said that he is shielding the national chairman of his party from being investigated? If he does that, the opposition will latch on to that and it will not do his image or the party a lot of good.
