There is no airline called Fly Emirates may be you mean FlyDubai airline which is owned by Dubai government that equally owns Emirate but is not a part of Emirates group.

Even though FlyDubai is a low-cost airline, it is not by any shot as popular as Emirates. It flies to mostly Asian, mid-east and east-African countries.

Ajimobi and Okorocha have one thing in common.

They wanted their anointed candidates to be the gubernatorial candidate for their party, the apc. when it failed, the anointed candidates joined unknown parties and even with the backing of their sponsors, lost.

And in the confusion between apc and these two governors about how they're forcing their candidates against the apc's candidates, PDP won and shut everyone up.

Truce grin

You mistaken Ajimobi of Oyo State for Amosun of Ogun State and that rendered your argument null.
Ajimobi supported an APC candidate that lost to PDP while Amosun supported another party candidate but APC still won

Travel / Ghana Beats Nigeria In List Of Most Hardworking Foreigners In US by klas(m): 8:13am On Aug 23, 2018
Nigerians working in the United States have been ranked as the eighth most hardworking foreigners in that country, according a 2018 report by Bloomberg.

Nigerians scored 71.0 percent in the list of the hardest and most skilled immigrant groups in the US which was topped by Ghana with 75.2 percent.

Bulgaria and Kenya were ranked second and third with 74.2 percent and 73.4 percent respectively. Other African countries in the report’s top 10 are Ethiopia (4th), Egypt (5th), and Liberia (9th).

This makes Africans in general the most productive immigrants in the US ahead of those from Mexico and Central America, who constitute more than 70 percent of foreign nationals in that country.

Mexico is by far the most common country of origin, but the population of Mexican immigrants in the U.S. (both documented and undocumented) actually fell 6 percent from 2007 to 2015, according to the Pew Research Centre.

The numbers of Salvadorans, Hondurans and Guatemalans in the U.S. continued to grow.

“If we want more high-skilled, hardworking, English-speaking, ready-to-integrate immigrants, it looks like the most obvious place to find them is in African countries where English is widely spoken,” Bloomberg journalist Justin Fox, who came up with the report, said.

The report, developed from the 2016 US Census Bureau American Community Survey, ranked Nigeria 8th among the Most-Educated Immigrant Groups in the U.S.

Nigeria sandwiched between Australia (7th) and Malaysia (9th).

The report put the number of Nigerian legal immigrants in the U.S. at 262,603.

According to the report, Kenya, Nigeria, Nepal and Ghana have the highest number of citizens pursuing higher education in the US after Saudi Arabia.

Immigrants from Kenya, Nigeria and Ghana are near the top in both employment-population ratio and higher-education enrollment, it said.

Politics / Re: Defection: What Difference Can Dogara Make? by klas(m): 11:12am On Aug 14, 2018
HungerBAD:

APC candidate Lawan Gumau won the Bauchi South by-election with 119,489 votes. The flag bearer of the PDP, Ladan Salihu, who polled 50, 256. The margin is wide. Interestingly, former Governor Isa Yuguda, who ran on the platform of the Green Party of Nigeria (GPN), also lost his deposit. He got 33, 079 votes.

If the votes of the PDP and GPN are combined, it will still be a far cry. The result is a worthy tribute to the memory of the late Senator Alo Wakili, who died on March 17. He was a chieftain of the APC. The result affirmed that Bauchi is an APC stronghold.

But, Dogara is not a paper weight politician at home. The mark of departure is that the Bogoro/Dass/Tafawa Balewa Federal Constituency, which he represents in the Lower Chamber, has been polarised. The constituency is made up of Bogoro, Dass and Tafawa Balewa councils. In his native Bogoro council, the poll result reflected his leaning to the opposition. Since it is an open secret that the federal legislator and his supporters swung the pendulum to the direction of the PDP, the opposition party defeated the APC in the council. This is a confirmation that Dogara is the undisputed political leader of Bogoro. The PDP got 6,646, APC secured 3,992. However, the jubilation across the wards in Bogoro council was short-lived. Outside Bogoro, voters sang a different tune. At the end, it was evident that the Speaker had a potent, but a narrow base. Therefore, analysts suggested that Dogara would need APC just as the party needs him to win Bogoro in next year’s polls.

In Dass council, APC got 7, 432 votes and PDP polled 4,028. In Tafawa Balewa, APC also defeated the PDP, garnering 14,309 votes to PDP’s 8,528. In other councils, APC maintained a peculiar pattern of electoral victory.

The poll result was also reminiscent of the 2015 governorship and presidential elections when voters endorsed the APC at the polls. In 2015, the APC won in 19 of the 20 local governments in Bauchi during the governorship poll. The councils are: Alkaleri, Bauchi, Dass, Tafawa Balewa, Kirfi, Misau, Darazo, Katagun, Itas-Gadau, Toro, Ganduwa and Dambam. Others are Giade, Ningi, Jama’re, Shira, Warji, and Zaki. Instructively, the ruling party lost in Bogoro council.

Abubakar, the former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, garnered 654, 934 votes to emerge winner. His rival, Mohammed Jatau of the PDP, polled 282,650 votes. In fact, Abubakar defeated the PDP in Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area, where the former PDP national chairman, Alhaji Adamu Muazu, hails from. He also won in Zaki Council, Jatau’s birthplace.

In the 2015 presidential election, President Buhari’s APC got 931, 598 votes. Former President Goodluck Jonathan of the PDP got 86,085 votes

My analysis was limited to Katsina not nationwide.

If Kabir Kaita, a well known rich retired custom officer in the area and who had been in politics for long could be thrashed this way by his younger brother Ahmad Kaita who is relatively a political neophyte, then what do you think will happen when Buhari is on the ballot.

These people actually vote oooo.

How wont they deliver 1.2 million in presidential election?

I hope the opositions are looking at the areas they need to break now. These are the places they need to take votes from the APC because these are the areas that can ruin the

Also note that the main opposition only won 20.799% of the total votes which falls short of the 25% is worrying. They need to do better and get it right

Can you imagine? Even Ekiti State gubernatorial election didn’t deliver this much.

If in local elections, PDP couldn’t get 25%, is it when an ‘outsider’ contest that it will make headway in such high voting state?

What exactly is this mentality about thinking oil is being siphoned up north?... Are we even sure our education still means anything in Nigeria?... 99% of Nigeria's oil is being 'siphoned' to foreign nations everyday since the past over 60 years in the form of oil sales and not a single complain from any of these folks. Now, a private individual chooses to build a refinery in Katsina and the typical black man mentality says oil from Niger delta should never be sold to the private guy in katsina, we should rather keep selling it to foreigners only. Same nasty reasoning has been expressed repeatedly for Dangote refinery in Lagos, "we can never allow ND oil to be sold to Dangote refinery". Like seriously, what drives this sort of disgusting mentality amongst Africans?

You should have guessed the level of education of most people you are responding to.

Definitely, they don’t even know that the Kaduna refinery they are complaining about does not use Nigerian oil because our oil is light crude and Kaduna refinery processes heavy crude from Arab countries and Venezuela so as to get other derivatives that light crude won’t give. Warri port is just serving as receiving point for the imported crude to be piped to Kaduna.

Senior Secondary School Examination in 1981?

FAKE

Up to 1980, what we had was WASCE (June) which comes with Division classifications and aggregates

From 1981 to 1988 or there about, there was GCE (June) without division or aggregate

Senior Secondary exams came under Babangida regime around 1988.

How come Adeleke sat for Senior Secondary exams in 1981?

Even the dull reporter mis-interpreted the number-listing of the Summary of Result as the number of distinctions, credits and passes.

For those thinking that it's justified, didn't they approve a plane for that route and that time. If they changed the plane, how does that hinder movement?

They simply found a reason to hinder that movement. SHIKINAA!!!!!

Really? An unidentified and unauthorized plane should be allowed to fly into a military airbase? It will be shot down at sight.

Try flying into an air force base even in USA without prior clearance and see what will happen.

Military orders are written and signals sent to the relevant unit. It cannot be overruled verbally.

Why am i even answering you?? BUHARI'S PEOPLE...

If you didn’t know that the process of amending the constitution which culminated in his assent was started by the National Assembly in November 2015, then there are many things you didn’t listen to, not just your teacher.

Those bills (13 in all) were passed by the National Assembly in July 2017 and transmitted to the 36 states houses of assembly for their concurrence. Those 5 out of 13 (including the earlier not-too-young-to-run) that were sent to the president for his assent in April 2018 are the ones that have got the concurrence of at least 24 states so far. Some will still get that 24 states threshold and will be sent for the president’s assent why those that failed will be dropped notwithstanding that two third majority have passed them in the National Assembly.

If three years process does not qualify as taking ‘time to amend’, then thank God you belong to CLUELESS PEOPLE.

How does this law affect Atiku in anyway? Was Atiku ever an Acting President even for a minute talkless of completing the tenure of a president?

The legislature only corrected the lapse in the original constitution which says nobody should be sworn in more than twice for the office of the president or governor but doesn’t specify on what happen if a president or governor couldn’t complete his term which forces his deputy to take-over.

Of course, for the deputy to take-over the remainder of the term, he must be sworn in as the new president/governor. Now the question is, does that swearing in for the period which is definitely less than a full term of 4 years count as part of the maximum of 2 swearing in that the constitution stipulates or not?

The amendment now say it is a part. Simple

Growing up, we were told our Constitution was rigid, but just this week alone, Buhari has demystified the rigidity of our Constitution.... Just signing things "upandan".

May be you didn’t listen well to your Government teacher. Rigid constitution does not mean it cannot be amended, it only means the process of amendment is more difficult than flexible constitution

The process of amending Nigerian constitution is complex - two majority of each house of the National Assembly and two third of all states houses of assembly.

As for many amendments signed by Buhari, blame that on the legislature that wanted to circumvent presidential veto.

The story behind that is that in 2014/15, all these amendments were made in a single law and sent to Jonathan for assent. Jonathan did not like one of the amendments which stops president from ever signing future amendments once passed by the National and states assemblies, so he refused to sign and with that all other amendments failed.

This time around, the legislature sent each amendment as separate bill so that if the president fails to sign one, it won’t affect the other. The plan is that after the assent by the president, the National Assembly will now consolidate all these amendments into a single law for ease of reference.

Guys! Fasten your seat belts for 2019. Many perceived enemies' heads would roll into jail. Selective witch-hunting and barbaric handling of the nation's economy would sway. Needless disproportionate military appointments and ministerial posts.

Fasten your seat belt guys! 2019 is fast approaching. Obasanjo would go on self imposed exile. The writing is boldly written on the wall.

Judicial rascally would prevail. Buhari, being a Fulani man, is unrepentantly vindictive and unforgiving. He's been singing to our ears how he lost elections 3x!

What precipitate's his mind are those he's been uttering out.

Judiciary would be ridiculed to learned beggars.

So the problems are the north and Buhari now?

Do you know the process of amending the constitution? This is not an ordinary law.

Before going to Buhari for assent, at least two-third majority (not just simple majority as in ordinary laws) of the senate and the house of Reps must support it. In addition, at least 24 states houses of assembly must support it. Does the north alone have these numbers?

Note that another amendment of the constitution is to be forwarded to the president which will dispense with the need for the president to sign constitutional amendments

What is an "Independent Non Executive Diector"

Fact is Dangote is seeking to list his business on the London Stock Exchange and likely she will use her connections to facilitate that and access to the UK Capital market.

There are three sets of directors in a Board - (1) Executive (for day to day running), (2) non-executive (they are on the board to represent their direct or indirect shareholding interest in the company. They attend regular board meetings) and (3) Independent (they are non-executive also but they must not have shareholding interest in the company either directly or indirectly)

Code of Corporate Governance including the one applicable in Nigeria requires a company to have the mixture of the three on the Board. Certain board committees’ chairmanship are reserved for only independent directors.
