The only thing that I think will work will be home based jobs. There are quite a number of them. And they're mainly Customer Service jobs. There are also some Social work that can be done at home, with one day in the office. My friend currently does this, and she makes a lot of money. Her husband lives in the U.S.
What I advise is whilst doig your job search, filter it to home based roles. Most of these jobs require you have a home office set up. So you'll need a working desktop (what Nigerians call 'system'), printer, scanner, work station desk and the right swivel chair. Sometimes they send a HR person to inspect your home office to make sure it ticks their standard. You're also expected to be logged on to their server at times when you're expected to be working. So fast internet connection is a must have.
Other home based jobs include project coordinating/managing roles.

Truth is, they're not hard to find. You just have to use the right search engine and select what roles you think will work for you, also considering the salary as well.

Thanks for this, always hoped to do this but wasn't just sure it was plausible.
In other news, this is good news for Ontario bound peeps but not until 2020 http://google.com/newsstand/s/CBIwjKPQwzo

Dear Kmgb, aside the transcript, please did your school have to send copy of your certificate or letter confirming your degree alongside to ICES?

Hi, I had attached it along with my ID and change of name/marriage docs when I submitted my application to them . My school asked if they should add it,I told them not to bother

My sister in 'pleading with hubby' and 10 years banking. Wish i could take sometime off work and do something flexible but I am.so used to a regimented life. Working at a creche will be fun because I love babies too.

Anyone with any business ideas please chip in.

I'm in this gang as well and the truth is I don't see him changing his mind. God help me

Thanks for this info.

@ titiclassy, have you ever considered working in a creche? I love taking care of babies and I do this presently and voluntarily, once a week though. That takes care of this hassle "entry or transition job have funny hours", takes care of extra transport cost, and the stress involved in juggling a career with child pick up/drop off. Creche owner might further reduce the cost of care for your children as a staff (don't know if that works in Canny though, just thinking).

We must succeed!!!

You and me both...everything u said up there grin. Been in banking a little longer and I'm tayad,I just wanna be a Mommy for the first year in Canny while also learning French/try to start a biz/following up with my naija biz. So help me God.

1. You can scan and upload the issued visas and stamped travel pages for the current passport only. Try to merge the bio-data page (this will be the first page) and stamped pages into a single PDF file.

2. Some do fill the form upfront while others don't. It all depends on you.

* Declare the visa refusal.

But d Visa refusal is more than 10years ago, does it still count? I just need clarification

Not correct please. @OP, please evaluate only your UK Msc. It will be faster. Even if you evaluate 10 MSc degrees, you ain't getting extra points for the 9.

Hello House,

I've learnt a lot from this thread. Please i'd like to find out out about the police report.

On the link 'https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/permanent-residence/express-entry/applications-received-on-after-january-1-2016-completeness-check.html', it states that 'Under “Education,” applicants will be advised to enter the country and city in which they were physically present, even in the case of distance learning. This is to avoid unnecessary requests for police certificates.'

Does this mean that applicants who have studied outside of Nigeria no longer need to get police certificates from the countries they stayed for 6 months or more due to educational reasons?

I would appreciate your response.

They must be referring to the distant learning portion of the phrase IMO

You can check yourself. Use this tool;
Use this to check possible scenarios for your CRS.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp
..You alone know your exact situation, from the info u have given, evaluate your 2 MSc, that will fetch u more points. Age, IELTS are also factors. Take your time and play with the tool, you will get all your answers.

No please, he only needs to evaluate one Msc to get the highest possible points. Pls go ahead with evaluating your UK Msc.

Folks,

I have a testimony, we have passed our medicals, even though the CIC doc told us clearly, you would most likely be asked for further tests for your daughter. we give glory to God that is not happening. I dont know how God did it but he did it anyway. The good glitch that happened also moved our application into the IP2 gang.

Let me borrow the most popular phrase in here; It will end in praise!

Cheers

Wow,good to hear....can't wait for the concluding part of the good news!

I can't authoritatively give an answer on whether or not you would receive an ADR for a passport of less than 9months validity. In my case, my passport would expire September 26th this year and I submitted my application December last year (9months validity as at the time of submission). I am yet to get ADR for my renewal but got for my wife. I am already planning to renew my passport worse case scenario ending of this month/early April as CIC requires 12months validity for passport stamping.
I can't remember who but someone here posted that he/she replaced passport while their(both applicants) application was on going. This they did by raising a CSE

I see...thanks for this

Passport renewal @ Ikoyi after I got ADR.

Hi veritas,
Pls do u think if one's passport is more than 6 months but less than 9momths one will get an ADR? also since Nig immigration will not renew if the passport still has validity of more than 6 months without seeing a letter from an embassy, will printing the ADR suffice..just asking your opinion and that of others, thanks

Just to add. For those trying to move to Canada just for the blue passport (visa free travel), the government will make you invest a significant amount of time here before giving you that blue passport.

I know right!..3 to 4 years is a lot of investment. Thanks for chipping in

To qualify for the passport is pretty straightforward. 3 years of residency as a PR and around 1 year of processing.
If you come in as a student, 2 years plus on a trv can count up to a max of one year credit towards the 3 years resudency rule i.e 1 year from TRV, 2 years as a PR and around 1 year of processing.
Processing is around one year if no criminal record, well completed application form, pass citizenship test, and all requested extra document request from cic are submitted before the given deadline on the request letter.
Just keep your copr and pr cards as they may request for it too.

Thanks for making it clearer especially the processing time

@landed seniors who have stayed over 3 years in Canada, please share your experience about getting a Canadian passport, can one really get the passport after 3 years or is it like this job hustle too. Please let put this in perspective as we balance the conversation, cos for some esp. those with biz in 9ja, it is the passport that is the ultimate prize.

Really interested in the answer to this question. Seniors pls shed more light

Good day house

Please if there is any change in your result after eor, will they update it on there online platform for checking result as well?

Because i sent my January 20th result for remarking and today i got email that my result has been return after two weeks and when i checked online this morning the result is the same as it was before. Does that means no upgrade or what?

Please help with what might be the issue?

I think u will have to go to their office to be certain, don't rely on the online result. Did u say the remarking was ready in 2 weeks?interesting! Pls let us know how it goes when u pick up your result

That should be British council office. Also make sure to go on a day results are given out if u dont want to waka twice cos you will need to attach your original result to your enquiry of result ..Go for it!
