I think the first hotel tried to hold the money for the first night and cancelled since I did not have enough on it.

As for the the second one, there was no pre-payment. At least the money has not been deducted as at now.

can you please give me the details of the one you were able to make a reservation with let me try them out

Thanks a lot Ekpotek. Do I really need to state that I am presenting a hotel reservation different from the one I earlier made the application with because the reservation automatically cancelled itself? or I should simply state that I made some changes on.my earlier reservation without offering further explanation? I doubt if the issue is with the card being used in booking because I even asked someone in the UK to make a reservation on.that same site booking.com and same automatic Cancellation occured.

dear people, please can I get a response on this urgently

I have not gotten any mail showing if it has been cancelled.

I called the hotel to be sure and gave my conf no.
They have my reservation.

The first booking I made was with my GTB Dollar Mastercard (did not have enough for a night). I then tried with my naira mastercard - GTB. Maybe try again and call the hotel.

I am yet to even submit.

Did you make an initial deposit? or was it no pre~payment option because you said you didn't have money in your dollar master card

Hi,

Were you able to get this sorted?

I saw your post then checked my booking(hotel website) only to discover it had been cancelled the day after. I then made another booking via booking.com

Did they send you a mail regarding the cancellation.

No it hasn't been sorted out.It has kept cancelling despite repeated bookings. Just check, yours mght have cancelled again. Want to try another site. altogether. probably there is an issue with bookings..com. have you done biometrics?

You do not need to panic. Make a new booking in another hotel and add it as part of your hotel reservation. Then explain in your cover letter, why you need to change your hotel reservation. To avoid another cancellation used a credible bank card.

i made a reservation on booking.com and it has been automatically cancelling itself and the message displayed is invalid credit card details. I have rebooked and same thing happened. Sad part is that I have submitted the application with the details of that hotel and will be going for biometrics this week. The hotel is now fully booked as I tried rebooking again. please how do I sort this out so it does not affect my visa application. please note that am going for biometrics this week. please help out urgently

Make sure you have enough to cover at least one night stay in the hotel you plan to book. Usually, some hotels carry out pre-authorization on your card. By this, they try to hold an amount equivalent to one night or all of your planned stay just to ensure your card is valid. Often times when you don't have up to that amount in your card, it will lead to invalid debit/credit card. I used GT recently and I still have about 39GBP on hold by the hotel. I'll advice you try again and ensure you have an amount covering at least one night stay in that card account. I noticed this is new with some UK hotels.

The GT card you ised,is it foreign currency denominated or naira?
Thanks for your timely response. But my debit card is adequately funded. It still baffles me. Have used 3 other debit cards for different banks and the accounts were adequately funded. i equally booked another hotel on.Bookings.com.and same thing occurred

please i would appreciate someone 's urgent response on the issue captured below.
in the portion for cost of living expense in relation to your stay while in the uk what components/parameters is it made up of? { is it just money for feeding and transport while int the uk only}?
2. where should the money i have for shopping and entertainment and leisure reflect? in the cost of living expense ?
please look at this breakdown

say you earn 1,141 pounds monthly as. salary *2= 2282.34 pounds ie 2 months salary is your budget for the trip. Please see it the breakdown is good enough

flight- 268 pounds

feeding - 16 pounds a day{ lunch and dinner} as hotel offers breakfast. *12 days === 192 pounds

travel card for 2 weeks =98 pounds

accommodation -234 pounds

Total is 792 pounds leaving a balance of 808 pounds which is intended for shopping.

total amount the trip will cost personally is 1600

amount you have for the trip is 1800.

does this look good? and where can I put the money for shopping{500} and entertainment {100 pounds..

is the overall budget of 1800 too much for 12 days considering the income
thanks

This image shows the order in which you must follow on the visa4uk site. Once payment is successful, you can then click on the Register at commercial partner which then takes you to the tls site for registration. On tls, you will be asked for the GWF number of your application on visa4uk, your passport no and some other details after which you will validate and submit the form.

Thanks yet again Cezero. your help has been immense. The Visa4uk site you are using,is i the old or the new site? I am currently doing the application on the old site. And which o the sites is better and more flexuble? Also I want to know if I can use any naira debit card to pay or a dorm master card to pay. or suggest a better means of paying for the viisa hitch~free. Thanks for your input

]Thanks Cerezo for your response. please clarify me further,if appointment is booked on visa4uk site,.why does TLScontact display that yoy have to book appointment with them after completing your form and making online payment. i also came across the same message on visa4uk site. Then again how do I connect my application on.visa4uk site and TLS contact? I am quite confused about the whole appointment booking process and the appropriate platform to do it. please can someone take the pains to explain?

[quote author=cerezo post=71493446]You can only book appointment on the visa4uk site. The sad part is that you cannot view appointment date until you complete and sign your application. You will see appointment dates before making payment, only that you would have signed your application before appointment. In other words, you cant make changes to your application anymore at the appointment stage. But anyone who has passed that stage can advise you on the earliest dates available. I just checked and noticed 28th Sept is available. I checked last night, the earliest was 2nd Oct.

Good Evening good people. please I would luke to get your suggestions. I intend applying for uk visa and hope to spend 15 days of my annual leave. it's a first time uk visa application. Is it compulsory to include a detailed day to day itinerary of my visi? i only mentioned the various tourist attractions i plan to visit. secondlly,is it safe to state i will only visit a friend in the UK even though i made a hotel reservation? Referring to that portion where it is asked if you have family and friends in the uk

1) DO not make reservation with initial deposit yet o. Do one that has free cancellation. You can do this in booking.com
2) it's normal if your location shows you are in Nigeria or you changed the currency to Naira
3)Do free cancellation. Don't do initial deposit
4)Yes you can. Even for free cancellation, note that they need your card details but you won't be charged.[/quote

Thanks a lot for your response. Please Iwant further clarifications.Does it mean that my initial deppsit won't be refunded if I cancel within the acceptable timeline? 2. I am.also finding it difficult to search for hotel reservation on bookings.com. Please can anyone put me through?

Applying as a couple will be better.
When filling the form, there are sections u will will be asked if you are traveling alone or with your spouse. in addition to this, when filling the TLS form, u fill as a group submission.
I think the old application form is more straight forward.
U can only pay online with a bank debit card or through paga online as well..
I hope this information helps.

Thanks for your response .I also want to ask at what point I will do the TLS application? Will it come after I submit my application on the uk visa portal? And also can I pay with any naira denominated master card of any specific bank?

Greetings to the good people of this forum. I.will appreciate your imput to these grey areas.I intend travelling to the UK with my hubby In filing the application,do we stand a better chance of being issued a visa if we apply individually or as a couple? We both have good paying jobs. 2. If it is better off applying as a couple, how do we get to fill the application to show we are applying as a couple? 3. which of the visa application links is better, simpler easier to use,? The old or the new application link ? I heard the old one is better but i want opinions from real users. 4. Then can I make payment for the visa application through GT Bank or must it be online? I will appreciate your candid responses
