Romance / Re: Is She A Broken Girl Or Da She Cnt Trust Me? Ladies Come In by labanj1(m): 10:45pm On Jan 14, 2019
Most ladies don't believe a guy can just be nice. If he is too nice, they believe there's an ulterior motive. Tell her what you want now, which is just friendship but don't be disappointed tomorrow when you fall in love and she's not feeling the same way.
Romance / Re: What Is The True Essence Of Marriage? by labanj1(m): 3:45pm On Jan 13, 2019
catwalq:
I believe its companionship and happiness.

Love to me is more than a feeling. Its a conscious act. Cause honestly, marriage will definitely outlive those butterfly feelings and mushy days.

Kids are FRUITS of marriage. So,its cool when you have them, but if you don't, that don't mean the marriage failed. You probably married without kids. Y'all should just be happy with each other.

Same goes for money
True. I've always believed love is a conscious effort, not just a feeling.

Fell for one girl. Most regrettable thing that happened to me throughout school.
One other crazy thing was walking to and fro Obakekere to Obanla thrice just because we got info about leaked MTS exam in 100L, only to find different set of questions in the exam hall (Futarians will understand). E no funny.

Health / Re: Gas Explosion Kills Lady 'Operating Her Phone While Cooking With Gas' In Lagos by labanj1(m): 3:06pm On Jan 10, 2019
VictorRomanov:

Irrespective of the the source of ignition, there would definitely be a leak before there would be an explosion.

However, If you had followed the thread of our argument, you'd have noticed she said it is not possible because she uses her phone while cooking all the time. That's why I had to reply with that screen shot. One could also argue that they ignite their burners all the time and it has never exploded.

The fact is that gas leakage alone don't cause explosions. There needs to be a source of ignition, be it a lit gas burner or a phone. Don't rule out one and keep the other. And when there is an explosion like this, we may never know which is the cause.
Why wouldn't you know the cause, the cause is a leak. There is a burner already ignited, except you're saying a phone would cause an explosion faster than an already ignited burner. In this case you cannot attribute that explosion to a phone. A phone rarely causes sparks, so why would you attribute it to a phone, when there is a burner ignited already.

VictorRomanov:

You want to wait till it explodes? You think if it does explode you'd have the chance to come tell us it has exploded?
That's not the issue. The argument is why would people attribute explosion to the phone when the gas burner is already ignited. Explosion is due to a leak not due to the presence of a phone.

Romance / Re: NYSC A True Test Of Fidelity by labanj1(m): 5:02pm On Dec 31, 2018
placeofallure:
I read an article about the free-sex-for-all going on in the NYSC camp shortly before I went for my service year and that strengthened my resolve to hold myself. What I read was too degrading especially concerning women. As part of the measures I took, I went with many bulky novels and that was what I did, I buried myself in them. Not many people knew me in camp and afterwards, they didn't even know which batch I belonged to. I kept a very low profile.

In reality, many will try to date you whether you're attractive or not. After all, you are far away from where your regular kondo is. All the men know this and they are bloody opportunists. Beginning from my fellow Corp members to my lodge boys, to the zonal inspector to the principal of the school I was posted to. I changed place of primary assignment twice because of sexual harassment. The story is the same with the other principal. I also worked with the state house of assembly and the honourable men were quick to show how dishonoured they are. For an average lady, rebuffing all these advances would seem a Herculean task, it is actually. My boyfriend was in town only once and he barely spent two days. His excuse? Work!

How does a poor lady, who is the 'weaker' of the sexes cope? Usually, it is easy to stand aloof in a corner and chastise, and cast aspersions but have you tried to reverse the roles and possibly wear the shoes for a moment, just a moment? I bet you'll drum a different beat.

At the end of the day, it's not about whether or not you have a boyfriend or a betrothed, it's about your values as a person. What you'd do and what you'd rather not be caught doing.
True, it is about personal values. Sadly, many have lost that, male and female alike.

Chukazu:

You are simply saying money is not part of " honor the Lord with your substance and first fruit of your increase?"

Or you are saying money was not a measure of value during their days?

Jesus says "give to Cesaer what is Cesaer's and to God what is God's" and you think your money is not part of "what's God's?"

We have a generation who gladly " gives God the Credit but not the Cash ?

Your argument is no more about paying Tithe but the content of the Tithe...you want me to carried Yam , Cassava and Ewedu leafs and present as tithe when I am not a famer?
You are straying. I am not against giving of money to God. It should be done wholeheartedly and cheerfully. No one should be forced to give. The argument is about tithe giving and how churches have perveted the issue of tithe. Tithes in earlier times were given to people (Levites, who worked in the temple and had no other work, also other examples) despite the fact that they can offer it as sacrifice to God. You are not obligated to pay tithe to anyone now because there's no Levitical priesthood.

BluntBoy:

Who was a priest and who is a pastor?

A priest offered sacrifices to God on behalf of the children of Israel. There were places he could enter that no one else could enter. God, was in the real sense, only accessible to him. But through Christ's Sacrifice, God is now accessible to everyone. We no longer need earthly priests. Christ is now the High Priest and it is only through Him that we can have access to God. So, how can you be mocking Christ's Sacrifice on the Cross by saying that pastors are today's priests?

Now, who is a pastor? The appropriate word is shepherd or teacher. His duty is to teach the Word to new converts and bring them up for the work of the ministry that God has entrusted in the hands of every of his children.

However, pastors can be likened to priests. But not just pastors. Every believer is a priest. Not a priest of the Levitical Order who collected and received tithes. We are a new priesthood offering sacrifices to God through the High Priest who is our Lord Jesus Christ.

You can offer sacrifices in many ways such as helping the needy, propagating the gospel, teaching the gospel to new converts and even participating in programs that promote peace in your community.
Thank you. Most Christians don't even know who they are in Christ. How will they understand this?

Chukazu:
Mathew 23:23 clearly approves of tithe , and that is new testament, I don't know what Freez is saying again?

One of his argument was that it doesn't exist in new testament
It indicates tithing of crops(mint, anise and cummin) and not money as propagated by the church today.

The arrangement fits the typical traditional Nigerian family. If a man crowns himself head and lord...then he has to do what lords do. Take charge of the provision without complains.

Both sides of the divide are hypocritical if you ask me. So, to each his own.

I like traditional men (aka) ultimate head of house. Slaves to their ego, hustle and give me money, while I massage his ego and call him "nna anyi". God punish feminism grin
If the man is actually Lord, you definitely know he owns what you own.

Romance / Re: Ladies What Question Do You Hate Most When Chatting With Guys...!!! by labanj1(m): 11:21pm On Sep 28, 2018
Bluezy13:
I beg to differ...

These questions are. means of igniting a conversation or just for the purpose of conversation. Asking if a lady has eaten doesn't really mean he wants to do abracadabra and food will appear, if she hadn't eaten.

In common civilized parlance, women are very comfortable with such questions because they see it as a norm and men can't help it. Only in this part of the world that women feel one must be an expert in conversation without asking these questions and when the man is seeming boring or adamant just in a bid to avoid being tagged a pest or stupid for asking such questions, this same women will come crying "Negligence!" on the man's part.
Although some men ask these questions haphazardly, it is still permissibly commendable to ask as a means of imitating a conversation.

But as for me, can't remember the last time I gave a lady an attention in the name of chatting her up. I simply mind my business. Highest is "good morning and good afternoon" unless there is an important information I need from you, apart from that, you can remain in my handle for years without even a "Hi" from me let alone a phone call.
We are alike. I mind my business online when it comes to ladies.

Good idea.

NIMC is making the registration tedious for people.

My neighbour went there too by 6:30 am and came back 6pm, and i asked her just to get ID Card?

I visited NIMC few weeks ago in PH, opposite NDDC on Aba Road to see if i can register. The process is too long with people paying 1k to some officials just to put their name/submit their forms.

I thought to myself, why i will suffer just to have a National ID when i have Driver's licence and International Passport? I tore the form in my hand and left.

Why can't they link this ID card to BVN and produce it for the masses?
Its linked already. Harmonisation has started and its still ongoing.

I don't think that will fix his problem. I have the same problem with my phone, it is either two nano sim or a nano sim/memory card slot.
