Samuel Omotoso, member, Ekiti State House of Assembly, has told the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC that a two-storey commercial building located at Okesa Market and sealed by the Commission, belongs to him. Agents of the anti-graft agency had sealed off a number of buildings in Ekiti State purportedly belonging to ex-Governor Ayo Fayose. Hearing at the sittings of the Ekiti State Governorship Election Tribunal continued in Abuja on Wednesday, with one of the APC witnesses, Mr Famoroti Adebayo, confirming that only 242 voters were accredited but 243 voted and same recorded. Famoroti Adebayo was the party agent for Unit 2, Ward 1 of Ido/Osi Local Government. Another witness, Mr Gbenga Ogunmoroti, the APC collation officer for Ward 3 in Ido/Osi local govt said in his written Statement on Oath that activities with respect to voting were exclusively done. The prosecution on Monday opened its case before a Federal High Court Lagos in the criminal trial of immediate past Governor of Ekiti, Ayodele Fayose, charged with N6.9 billion fraud. Fayose was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Oct. 22 alongside his company Spotless Investment Ltd on 11 counts. He had pleaded not guilty to the charges, and the court granted him bail in the sum of N50million with one surety in like sum and adjourned until Monday the case for trial.READ MORE |

Attempts by some persons suspected to be armed robbers to attack some commercial banks in Lagere Area of Ile-Ife, Osun State, was, on Monday, foiled by some eagle-eyed residents of the area. Seven commercial banks have branches in Lagere area and the suspected robbers arrived the area about 10 am. Ekiti Election Tribunal: APC Opens Defence As Witnesses Says Election Is Free, Fair The All Progressive Congress (APC), today opens its defence as the 2nd respondent in the Ekiti State July 14th governorship election petition tribunal sitting in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Apo, Abuja. The Independent National Electoral Commission (lNEC) is listed as the first respondent in the petition, while APC and Fayemi are listed as 2nd and 3rd respondents in the petition being heard by the Tribunal headed by Justice Suleiman Belgore. Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi on Monday criticised the decision of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to embark on strike. According to him, tertiary institutions in the country had fared better under President Muhammadu Buhari.
