Politics / Re: Should The Name Nigeria Be Changed? by landis(m): 10:28am On Oct 21, 2008
actually the name Nigeria though means 'River Niger Area' is actually insulting to us.

Lugard was making love to his wife Flora:

It was during esctasy: she said yeah, Niger - area should be Nigeria.

And ofcourse Lugard accepted it.

That said, renaming alone is not enough.

We need to CREATE Nigeria/Africa for Africans.

We are still living in Nigeria/Africa created by EU for EU.
Foreign Affairs / Re: I Pray That Nigeria Come To See An Incredible And Dedicated Leader Like C Powell by landis(m): 7:48am On Oct 21, 2008
Colin Powell worked as hard as he could to prevent the war, he made his decision to go to war based on the information available to him. It so turned out that those informations were false and probably spinned by those who wanted to go into Iraq anyway.

indeed.

This means that his support for Obama(not that I care) is also based on false information.

That is his style, he never cross-check if something is REALLY true or not. He just come forward and open his mouth.

This is same guy that said all NIGERIANS are 419 and yet this yeye THISDAY invited him to their dance-party.

We are poor student of history, that is why WEST/ASIA is ahead of us.

ayomifull:

No i am not a citizen of Ireland, i am 100% Nigerian. All i want is a 2 weeks holiday visa.

have you ever travelled to a third country before from your base in Europe?

simply go to Emirate Embassy in your country of residence unless you dont have residence permit but only a visitor.

If visitor, you may have to go back Nigeria to apply for dubai visa.

It will look like below

1. There will be a rush in the first 5years.

2. Once people know they can go and come at will, the rush will reduce.

3. After 10yrs, you will have Nigerians living in UK reduced as it make no sense.

4. There would be increasing looting since you can be in UK anything time t.

UK/EU/US know our culture, we like 'Big Man'; every body want to be big man so they make more money from us by making it tough.

Yes I am, but I find the number of Africans who come to Europe and end up being involved in crimes, especially the Nigerians to be totally unacceptable. Many do not want to work when they are here and live off tax payers money, state benefits and other hand-outs. what value do these people bring to the UK?

We can not afford to be the nanny to the worlds underprivileged or lazy people.

We do not need that type of person in the UK! Unless you are invited, STAY AT HOME lipsrsealed

yeah, yeah. like your folks were invited to UK and ended up staying.

You simply jealous of those NIGERIANS making success in UK.

You know what? Nothing you can do about it.

And who invited the 'EUROPEANS' that came to steal africas wealth in 1500??

Powell is a useless fellow.

Only a poor student of history will trust or believe this guy.

He is a yes sir man! House Slave.

He lied to the whole world that saddam has weapon-of-mass destruction when we know the countries that actually had this weapon.

He should be held responsible for the carnage in Iraqi.

Travel / Re: Decongesting Lagos: Any Suggestions? by landis(m): 7:50am On Oct 17, 2008
For example, a $17000 minimum tax on all residents plus any additional percentage depending on your economic class (e.g 17,000 + 28% of income of tax per acre of land you own)would make people flee the city and resettle in the rural areas and the revenue would be used to transform the city to Dubai or Berne and make LASU and LAUTECH the next MIT, or Caltech. Remember that the country with the best educational system always comes out on top.

you dreaming.

They simply steal more money from Government purse to pay for this.

Lets take the UK for example, the money its embassies raise from visa applications is a fraction of what the country spends:

you talking out of point.

UK funds their NIGERIAN high commission from money they make from NIgerians.

Thats what this is all about. we are not talking about other UK embassies.

And this is possible as it one of the strategic goals of 'colonialism'

It same thing the french doing with their ex-colonies all over african.

Pafun,

Thanks for this thread.

We Africans never learn anything or we just cannot think beyond 24hrs.

During the colonial times, UK did not bring any money or wealth to Africa. They use resource within that colony to support the queen and the rest for the colony.

Because Lugard was so good at this they brought him from Sudan to Nigeria.

Today about 500yrs later, they are still using 'similar tricks' and we still like sheep falling in same trap.

They are using Nigerians to fund their embassy in Nigeria.

can u support this claim.

Lehman Brothers was private establisment and it has collapsed like pack of cards.

British Railway is private but its rubbish compared to Deutsch Bahn, which is Government Owned.

It all depends on the 'interests' of the people in charge!
Politics / Re: Atiku To Replace Yaradu As President! by landis(m): 3:46pm On Oct 15, 2008
Yaradua is not only slow but he is dead alive.

North has to enjoy their 8yrs in office; is Atiku the new dark-horse?

More intruges, can Atiku pull this??

Last week, a report in the “breaking news” section of The Guardian of Nigeria began to peel away at the mystery. Titled “Atiku may rejoin PDP, aides hint,” the account began: “Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar may be heading back to join the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) if feelers from some of his aides are anything to go by.” Among other things, the paper quoted the Atiku Campaign Organization as contending “In politics, anything can happen. Politics is not like Mathematics or Physics which [sic] answers are always static everywhere, anytime.” Then there was this concluding quote, again ascribed to Atiku’s campaign organization: “Or put another way, the political situation in the country today requires the attention of a good politician like Atiku.”

So what do you guys feel about the $2.3 trillion bailout in Europe. Is that also wrong? I did not hear any Europeans complaining about it.

all the bailouts(nationalisation) are WRONG.

I hope AFRICAN countries can now see through the LIES of the WEST and do whats right for their people.

The points to take home:

1. Market Forces is myth. It does not exist

2. Privitization is rubbish. It does not work.

3. WEST, apparently does not understand their own economics.

4. Dont TRUST the west. Dont believe the west.

5. Globalization is not answer but nationalization

it quite a pity that each time an inncident of robbery is reported our so called policemen are no where to be found not until after two hours of inncident report before their arrival. this inncident took place 400ms away from a police station so if i am not mistaken it should have taking the police nothing more than 10ms to have responded. so what is the matter with our so called police for God sake. if it is extorting money from hustling okadas /motorist they know how to respond quickly.i mean it is unspeakable. We pray God should help us all.

we forget, Police are also victim of the situation: they have blood and also want to enjoy life like you and I.

Politics / Atiku To Replace Yaradu As President! by landis(m): 9:08am On Oct 15, 2008
The storm is gathering, the Politicians are at it again.

Is Atiku scheming to replace Yaradua?

The political tempo of Adamawa State rose during the week as posters of former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar, bearing emblems and slogans of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flooded the streets of Yola, the state capital and other major towns, of Mubi, Numan, and Ganye, giving credence to recent speculations that Atiku might soon ditch the Action Congress (AC) and return to the PDP.
Major streets, and round-abouts, and public buildings, moving vehicles and many other business places were adorned with the Atiku posters.
Some of the posters bore such inscriptions as “ Atiku, we want you back in PDP” ; “Atiku, your coming back to PDP is long over due”, “ former Vice President come and salvage PDP".
The pasting of the posters across the state, is said to be giving the Professor JIbril Aminu’ s faction of PDP some sleepless nights. Top members of the group had been meeting since last week , strategising on how to checkmate the speculated return of the former Vice–President back to the PDP fold.
Only recently, the state chairman of PDP, Alhaji Mijinyawa Kugama, while reacting to the speculations said such a move was not possible as it was fraught with a lot of political dangers.
But reacting to the circulation of Atiku’s posters, the former Vice-President's Media Aide, Alhaji Garba Shehu, said the clamour is not coming from the Atiku camp.
Garba told THISDAY in a telephone interview that “as far as the Atiku camp is concerned, those circulating the posters are on their own”.
“Atiku’s camp is being confronted with such circulation of posters in Kano, Kaduna, Bauchi, Minna and other states in the north. To the best of our knowledge, those circulating the posters are purely on their own”, he said.
Garba added that “it is only Atiku Abubakar himself who can tell you whether or not he is going back to PDP and I hope he will make the pronouncement at the appropriate time”.
The former Vice President had persistently denied any move to dump AC for PDP

I was coming back from church on a Sunday afternoon,I heard a prayer point from a church close to my house that God should send a messiah that will change the condition of this country. I thought about this for several hours that same day.
We have millions of people, I mean the big boys that are making cool money from the woes of this country. They are ready to KILL anyone that blocks their way, they are so devilish, desperate and ready for anything that may come after.
Who are the big boys, those that have private refineries, those that ships in Generators, those stealing our crude oil, those importing iron/steel and cement, godfathers of the politicians e.t.c.They have money and power.Presidents decision is subjected to their thorough scrutiny. They are ready to frustrate the effort of the government that refuses to dance to their tune.
They shed innocent blood at any time to achieve their goal.
They are so devilish! They are our enemies!
Nigeria can ONLY move forward if and only if we get rid of them.BUT HOW…….
If we are not ready for a change we shouldn’t be disturbing ourselves with prayers when we know the evils we commit individually.

Roma became great by wiping out its enermienemies_USA became what it is by wiping out RED-INDIANS.

German became what it is by tactically and strategically chasing JEWS away.

UK became what it is by wiping out our forefathers.

If this is true, time to dump Lagos.

Have they ever sat down and study causes of armed-robbery in Nigeria?

Getting more GUNS is not the solution.

We know the Police HIRE GUNS out to armed-robbers as they make more money from it.

This would rather increase armed robbery.
