GistMore.com Operatives of the Lagos State Police command have arrested a self acclaimed Alfa who was in the possession of human body parts at his home in Lagos State. Alfa Abdulfatai Kayode, who lives at No. 4 Okedumade street, off Badare street, Alakuko was arrested at home on Tuesday, Jan 16, and a bucket containing female body parts, including a vagina was found in a room he uses for divination. Upon questioning, he implicated one Ifa who he said is his accomplice. The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Edgar Imohimi immediately dispatched officials to apprehend Ifa. Both men are now in police custody. Below is the press release by SP Chike Oti, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer. PRESS RELEASE Today 16/01/2018,at about 1620 hours, operatives of the Lagos State Police Command, led by CP Edgal Imohimi, stormed No.4 Okedumade street, off Badare street, Alakuko Lagos and arrested a self acclaimed Alfa, by name, Abdulfatai Kayode, male. The said Abdulfatai confessed having some human parts in his divination room. A mini paint bucket filled with assorted types of female body parts comprising of the laps, intestine and the vagina etc, was recovered from him. He confessed that the human heart seen in the bucket was that of a man. He further named one Ifa, male, as his accomplice. The CP immediately dispatched the Command's underground operatives to fish out the said Ifa. About 30 minutes after the Commissioner of Police left the crime scene, news came that Ifa has been arrested. The CP, who was vividly happy at the arrest of the men, attributed the success to Community policing and safety partnership in existence in Lagos state. GistMore.com  Menstruating girls banned from crossing Ghana river in other not to provoke the Gods Traditional leaders in Ghana have banned school girls from crossing a river every Tuesdays and during their menstruating period in other not to provoke the gods in the community. According to reports, the ban was given by a local river god that menstruating girls should desist from crossing the River Ofin, in the Upper Denkyira East district, in the Central Region. The ban has outraged children's activists, because the girls could miss out on their education since they apply the river to get to their schools. The UN's scientific and education organisation, Unesco, estimates one in 10 girls in the region does not attend school because they are menstruating, while a World Bank report notes that 11.5m Ghanaian women lack the appropriate hygiene and sanitation management facilities needed. Reacting to the ban, Unicef's menstrual hygiene ambassador Shamima Muslim Alhassan told BBC Pidgin: "It seems the gods are really powerful aren't they?" she said. "Sometimes I think that we need to ask for some form of accountability from these gods who continue to bar a lot of things from happening, to account for how they have used the tremendous power that we have given them." Central Regional Minister Kwamena Duncan has given indications he will coordinate with the Ashanti regional minister to find a solution, BBC Pidgin reports. The River Ofin serves as a boundary between the Ashanti and Central Region. Meanwhile, during menstruation in Madagascar some females are told not to wash during their periods and in Nepal, some women are forced to sleep in huts away from the rest of the family. The party which held at the prestigious Civic Centre in Victoria Island was graced by many eminent personalities led by the Ogun state governor Ibikunle Amosun. The ceremony kicked off with a Thanksgiving service led by Pastor Ojelabi while Pastor Ituah Ighodalo led the prayers for the family and laid hands on them. The highlight of the night was the cutting of the birthday cake by the celebrant, who was flanked by her family. Governor Amosun coordinated the session with the support of APC Chieftain Aremo Olusegun Osoba, Chief Alex Duduyemi, Dr. Mrs Doyin Abiola. Popular Gospel musician Evangelist Lanre Teriba was on the bandstand, dishing out great tunes that got everyone on their feet dancing. The celebrant’s mother Chief Mrs Christiana Ebun Adaramaja, her husband Chief Dele Momodu, her friend Eng. Mrs Christy Adelowo, her children, nieces, nephews, in-laws, were among those who eulogised Mrs Momodu, for being an outstanding human being and a great person to everybody.
