Nairaland / General / Parternity Fraud: What Will Happen If DNA Test Are Done For Free In Nigeria by Levyy: 6:48am On Mar 15, 2022
I believe we have all heard of parternity fraud and what it means. Let me give a little highlight, It simply means when a woman falsely make a man believe and take fatherly responsibility of a child mean while they are not biologically related. There are many causes of parternity such as infidelity, adultery, gender inequality, unfaithfulness and lot more.

Do you know that a DNA expert from Lagos State Teaching Hospital claims that 30% of Nigerian men, that is three out of ten father's who went for parternity test are not boilogical fathers of children in their custody (this statistics is only for those who actually goes and can afford the test what if everyone can go ? ).

A DNA test in Nigeria cost nothing less than fifty thousand to a million naira depending on where it is done though, with the current economic state of the country you Don't need anybody to tell you how costly it is and that it cannot be afforded by many people in the country bringing us to our Topic "what will happen if DNA test are done for free in Nigeria" below I will be listing at least five to six point of possible occurrence or aftermath of parternity fraud and granting of free DNA tests.

Parternity fraud can lead to murder. This point ( murder ) is no new news as men kill there wife's when they find out the are not biological father of the children in there custody, sencondly ending relationship or marriage not every man will still want to stay with a woman who defiled their matrimonial bed, parternal fraud can make their victims start abusing drug, affect mental health, emotional break down, start nursing sucidal thought which eventually leads to sucide. Paternal fraud also affect the child mentally, phycologically, physically and emotionally, it can also leading to depression in both the father and the child. Granting of free DNA test will also be a wastage of time and the material used in carrying out the test because many of the results will not be what a person is expecting as there are many honest people out their that will be heart broken when they find out their partner is doubting them.

As you just read above, if everyone has access to free DNA test it will cause more damage than good, though it has some benefits of clearing the doubt of who the real father of the child is, and making a woman maintain her self and not to engage herself in extra marital affairs which I strongly believe is the best way to prevent parternal fraud. In conclusion I don't think granting free DNA test is a good idea, because everything has it time and everything under the sun will one day be brought to light so we should not rush the process. instead that energy should be channeled to another health sector, maybe granting free treatment for other common sickness. A Nigerian pastor identified as, Mathew Oladapo, has been arrested by the Ogun state police command for allegedly r@ping a 19-year-old member of his church.

It was reported that Oladapo, the pastor in charge of Life and Power Bible Church Ogijo, told the victim that he saw a vision that she is having a spiritual husband which she needs to be delivered of. Speaking to the victim, it was revealed that the pastor told her she will undergo a three nights of fasting and prayer in the church for complete deliverance. He also asked her to bring 1,000 naira notes and anointing oil when coming to the church.

While lying on the floor, the pastor started rubbing the anointing oil on her body and inserted his finger into her private part. When she reviled, the pastor pinned her down, covered her mouth and forcefully had s*x with her with the claim that it is the only way to break bond between her and the spirit husband.

Oladapo was arrested and detained after the victim lodged a complain against him at the Ogijo Police divisional headquarters. The suspect confessed to the crime but claimed to have been overwhelmed by a spirit.
