huni_naija: Welcomed development but the wrong time to build such a project in my opinion.. Why not provide the basic amenities like good roads, light and water first?
Then once these have been provided they can build whatever fancy project they deem fit for lagos... How far with the rail project? Hope its nearing completion? ![smiley](https://www.nairaland.com/faces/smiley.png)
Its the same reason why I dont get the building of this island..that money could build how many roads? lights? provide schooling etc for how many people?..but for them its about showing that Lagos can be like dubai almost... |

naptu2:
The Lagos State Government is already working towards achieving that (Marina, Shomolu IPP, etc), but remember, distribution of electricity, etc is still regulated by the Federal Government. And roads?..I just think that the government is trying its best to 'move the city forward' without first getting the basics done or at least finishing them |

naptu2:
The Lagos Rail project is going to be powered by an IPP, so I don't think this project (if true) will be connected to NEPA/PHCN. However, there's still the issue of availability of gas to contend with. It sounds like a good idea, but I would prefer to invest the money into providing electricity for people rather than do this... |

solomon111: The law is for both male and female offenders. And as far as i know,'gay' is not restricted to only males. In that case, why make the point about women if gays could also apply to anything thats same sex? But this penal code..I cant believe something like that exists? |

Parnassuss: The fact that this is actually being treated as a serious law is of grave concern to me on the level maturity and intelligence of Nigerians. Why did we applaud the NASS for this law when stealing billions attracts a 2 year penalty? Because Nigerians have no sense of priority o ![wink](https://www.nairaland.com/faces/wink.png) They'd much rather pass an anti-gay bill than an anti-corruption bill |

Hezron Lorraine: . Note:the new pending anti-gay law bans same sex marriage and public display of affection, gay unions e.t.c.BUT there's already an existing penal code since colonial law regime,dt disallows all form of same sex intimacy, with emphasis mainly on gays, lesbians not majorly specified but outlawed. Why is it called an anti-marriage ban if it also bans public displays of affection and gay unions? That makes no sense.. Wait, there is a penal code which disallows all forms of same sex intimacy (public or private or both?) but the emphasis is mainly on gays? How can a law written like that be mainly against men but not women? |
