Programming / Re: ANDRIOD Importing Classes by lordZOUGA(m): 9:37am On Feb 03, 2015
The easiest way is to write the class name correctly and then hover above the name with your pointed. The eclipse will give you class suggestions based on the name you wrote then click on the class you want for it to be imported.

Or

You can write it manually.
Example:
import android.content.Activity

This is not dependent on Ubuntu OS

Politics / Re: AIT's Online Poll Hacking Evidence Was Faked - Gbenga Sesan by lordZOUGA(m): 11:01am On Jan 30, 2015
This has more to do with the hackers having database access than bogus IP address.

I mean it is easier for the hackers to just manipulate the poll data in the database than to vote, change IP address and then vote again

Here is what I think they did:
There probably was another table in the database where the name of each candidate is matched to the number of votes gotten. Now, these hackers went and inflated the count for their candidate. To maintain the integrity of the poll so that they will not be discovered, they had to make sure that the number of IPs that voted for their candidate tallied with the inflated numbers. They wrote a script or a program that generated IP addresses "incrementally". The program generated IP adresses and then automatically inserted it into the database.

My guess is that this procedure locked the database and slowed down the voting site and this alerted the site technicians.

The whole thing was automated of course. See attached photo of the CSV file. Notice how the whole "Voting" occurred under a minute or two.

In the statement released by DAAR earlier, they did say they noticed the use of a software application that incremented IP addresses. So, I believe it is expected for some IP addresses to be out of range since the efficiency of the IP generator was not stated.

I believe the data presented BY AIT was misinterpreted by someone and then led everyone to join him in his misunderstanding.

So, yes maybe AIT's poll was really hacked.

I placed an order for a Nexus 7 2013 android tablet on Amazon through balogunsam and it arrived safely.

Though not as fast as I would like because of the nahco issue but throughout the nahco crisis, his correspondence was good.

So, I think he is reliable and I am glad I used his service.

Sports / Ikechukwu Uche Hopeful About The Match Against South Africa by lordZOUGA(m): 12:03pm On Nov 18, 2014
Nigeria striker Ikechukwu Uche has predicted a tough match against South Africa as the Super Eagles plot to secure Group A’s second qualification ticket for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

Bafana Bafana lead the group with 11 points while Nigeria displaced Congo to move to second position with seven points each but with a better head-to-head and can snatch the second qualification ticket if they beat the visitors at the Akwa Ibom Stadium in Uyo on tomorrow.

Uche scored from the penalty spot against Congo in his first game with the Eagles for almost two years as they won 2-0 in Pointe-Noire.

“The game against the Red Devils was a very difficult match for us because it was a match everybody expected us to win,” Uche said.

“This huge expectation from Nigerians propelled us to beat the Congolese despite the huge hostility from them. This we will also take to the match against South Africa in Uyo on Wednesday.

“Now we have to concentrate on beating Bafana Bafana. We won’t be deceived by the South Africans because we know that they are coming with their full squad.

“So we just need to mind our business and do our job well and win the game because that is what over 170 million Nigerians want right now.”

The Villarreal striker is aware of the enormity of the task ahead, even though the South Africans have never won a competitive game against Nigeria.

“We expect a tough game playing at home to South Africa [tomorrow] and I can tell you that it is not going to be easy. But hopefully we will come out victorious like we did against a very hostile Congo Brazzaville team,” he said.

Uche also acknowledged the fans, journalists and everyone who supported his return to the national team.

“I am very happy to be back and I dedicate my goal to all my fans in Nigeria that have supported me to this stage. I sincerely thank all Nigerians for my return to the Eagles and I will work hard on and off the field of play to repay them if possible with goals and most importantly to be a team player and make meaningful contributions to the team,” he assured.

Religion / Church of England Plans To Approve Female Bishops by lordZOUGA(m): 11:52am On Nov 18, 2014
The final hurdle to women becoming bishops is set to be removed when leaders of Church of England voted on Monday, revoking gender restrictions on top jobs.

A show of hands among Anglicans meeting in London is expected to clear the way for the first appointment in January.

However, the vote to allow women to serve in the Church’s highest posts came 20 years after the first female priests were ordained.

The legislation approving the change was passed unanimously in July and Monday’s vote rubber-stamped that change in the rules.

It brought England into line with other Anglican Churches around the world, as there were women bishops in Australia, Canada, India, South Africa and the U.S..

Hilary Cotton, the Head of lobby group Women and the Church (Watch), said she would like to see women in a third of bishop’s posts.

She said “women make up around a third of the clergy in the Church of England.

“It is not just about having women wearing purple, it is about changing the culture of the Church to be more equal.’’

Women becoming bishops had caused problems in the Anglican Church in recent years, along with the issue of gay marriage.

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, who is the Head of the Anglican Church, said of the July vote that it had started a “great adventure of seeking mutual flourishing while still, in some cases, disagreeing.’’

Reform, a conservative lobby group within the Anglican Church, said a quarter of the 80 million Anglicans would be unhappy “if the divine order of male headship’’ swept aside the Monday vote.

Webmasters / Twitter Can Now Be Translated Into Yoruba by lordZOUGA(m): 2:43pm On Nov 17, 2014
On the 1st of March 2012, thousands of tweets in a language originating from the South West of Nigeria dominated Nigerian conversation on the social network. This was no spontaneous coincidence. The people behind the #TweetYoruba campaign, as it was dubbed at the time, had one clear goal in mind. To get Yoruba supported on Twitter.

Their efforts were not in vain. After a few hours of a sustained barrage, Twitter’s translation desk took notice and promised that support would come in a few months.

kola tunbosun

Of all the enthusiastic Yoruba afficionados in Nigeria and across the diaspora who were driving the campaign, Kola Tubosun (@baroka on Twitter), a linguist and Yoruba scholar stood out. Piqued by a series of tweets he wrote about Yoruba handles that were wasted on Twitter, I reached out to him about to ask if cultural legacies like Yoruba would survive the interaction with evolving mediums of expression and globalisation, or if perhaps like fossils, they would only survive in some digital thesaurus form. His thoughtful response was optimistic of Yoruba’s future prospects.

But this was already January 2013, almost a year after the first Tweet Yoruba day, and Twitter was yet to make good on its promise.

It would eventually take two years, two tweet yoruba days (one more in 2013), and a dedicated core of Yoruba power translators. But the final outcome is its own reward. The localisation staffer they had corresponded with during the campaign notified Kola that Yoruba had been added to Twitter’s translation centre.

Twitter Translation Center - Yoruba

As we speak, Kola and others are working to translate the Twitter’s standard glossary of terms. They are understandably excited. Yoruba will be the only other African language asides Afrikaans (currently in beta) to be supported by the network. It probably helps that Yoruba seems to be relatively popular. It is spoken not just in Nigeria, but across the world by more than 30 million people, and was one of the first African languages to be added to the Google Translate engine. There is even a Yoruba section of Wikipedia, which Jimmy Wales acknowledged to be the fastest growing African language on the website, even if most of the 30,000 pages are authored by bots.

I think this is a more detailed representation of Nigeria than the one used in Ghost Recon.

Phones / Apple CEO Tim Cook Is "Proud To Be Gay" by lordZOUGA(m): 1:12pm On Oct 30, 2014
www.businessweek.com/articles/2014-10-30/tim-cook-im-proud-to-be-gay
Tim Cook: Throughout my professional life, I’ve tried to maintain a basic level of privacy. I come from humble roots, and I don’t seek to draw attention to myself. Apple is already one of the most closely watched companies in the world, and I like keeping the focus on our products and the incredible things our customers achieve with them.

At the same time, I believe deeply in the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, who said: “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’ ” I often challenge myself with that question, and I’ve come to realize that my desire for personal privacy has been holding me back from doing something more important. That’s what has led me to today.

For years, I’ve been open with many people about my sexual orientation. Plenty of colleagues at Apple know I’m gay, and it doesn’t seem to make a difference in the way they treat me. Of course, I’ve had the good fortune to work at a company that loves creativity and innovation and knows it can only flourish when you embrace people’s differences. Not everyone is so lucky.

While I have never denied my sexuality, I haven’t publicly acknowledged it either, until now. So let me be clear: I’m proud to be gay, and I consider being gay among the greatest gifts God has given me.

Being gay has given me a deeper understanding of what it means to be in the minority and provided a window into the challenges that people in other minority groups deal with every day. It’s made me more empathetic, which has led to a richer life. It’s been tough and uncomfortable at times, but it has given me the confidence to be myself, to follow my own path, and to rise above adversity and bigotry. It’s also given me the skin of a rhinoceros, which comes in handy when you’re the CEO of Apple.

The world has changed so much since I was a kid. America is moving toward marriage equality, and the public figures who have bravely come out have helped change perceptions and made our culture more tolerant. Still, there are laws on the books in a majority of states that allow employers to fire people based solely on their sexual orientation. There are many places where landlords can evict tenants for being gay, or where we can be barred from visiting sick partners and sharing in their legacies. Countless people, particularly kids, face fear and abuse every day because of their sexual orientation.

I don’t consider myself an activist, but I realize how much I’ve benefited from the sacrifice of others. So if hearing that the CEO of Apple is gay can help someone struggling to come to terms with who he or she is, or bring comfort to anyone who feels alone, or inspire people to insist on their equality, then it’s worth the trade-off with my own privacy.

I’ll admit that this wasn’t an easy choice. Privacy remains important to me, and I’d like to hold on to a small amount of it. I’ve made Apple my life’s work, and I will continue to spend virtually all of my waking time focused on being the best CEO I can be. That’s what our employees deserve—and our customers, developers, shareholders, and supplier partners deserve it, too. Part of social progress is understanding that a person is not defined only by one’s sexuality, race, or gender. I’m an engineer, an uncle, a nature lover, a fitness nut, a son of the South, a sports fanatic, and many other things. I hope that people will respect my desire to focus on the things I’m best suited for and the work that brings me joy.

The company I am so fortunate to lead has long advocated for human rights and equality for all. We’ve taken a strong stand in support of a workplace equality bill before Congress, just as we stood for marriage equality in our home state of California. And we spoke up in Arizona when that state’s legislature passed a discriminatory bill targeting the gay community. We’ll continue to fight for our values, and I believe that any CEO of this incredible company, regardless of race, gender, or sexual orientation, would do the same. And I will personally continue to advocate for equality for all people until my toes point up.

When I arrive in my office each morning, I’m greeted by framed photos of Dr. King and Robert F. Kennedy. I don’t pretend that writing this puts me in their league. All it does is allow me to look at those pictures and know that I’m doing my part, however small, to help others. We pave the sunlit path toward justice together, brick by brick. This is my brick.

Well, since you seem to have a seemingly strong opinion about this topic and also you stated earlier that you design websites, I am going to go ahead and assume that you are probably one of the tech experts you speak of.

Using you as a case study, your last 10 posts (apart from the ones you made on this thread) is not on a tech section but this topic drew your attention because it is on the frontpage.
If it drew your attention, it will also draw the attention of other tech experts which totally justifies the reason why it was put on the frontpage
