Nairaland / General / Re: Left-Hander Problems That Shows Why Being Left-handed Is The Worst(photos) by Lules(f): 2:44am On Aug 14, 2017
9jakohai:

Or more unique than me or you

Left-handers are often thought of as being more creative, as well as highly intelligent. They also are independent thinkers and gravitate toward leadership positions. Maybe these are traits you are attracted to. I suppose independence is a form of socializing, and maybe independent people tend to come together. There are surveys that show that certain careers are preferred among left-handers, such as technology and the arts, so there is reason to believe that left-handers do have more in common than just the hand they use, whether it be interests, social traits, or the way they think.

I like left handers. I find it fascinating to watch them tie wrappers or gele.
watching a left hander and a right hander sitting close to each other eating or writing is epic

Romance / Re: Should She Collect A Phone Gift From Her Suitor Because Her Boyfriend Is Broke? by Lules(f): 2:12pm On Jun 06, 2017
funmisticqueen:
There is this friend of mine, she's still a student, she has a steady boyfriend whom she loves but is broke, but there has been this persistent toaster on her case who is financially buoyant. My friend has not had a laptop and phone for quite a while cos hers was stolen a while ago, and these things are necessary to read with in her school. Her parents said they weren't getting any gadgets for her again cos the last laptop they bought was also stolen when raiders came to the reading rooms in her school. Her parents are also against her doing business in school as they think it would disrupt her studies?p.
She told this her steady boyfriend that she needs a phone and not an expensive one, i think she asked for a techno about five months ago, but her boyfriend kept telling her he would get with no show, he didn't give her a gift on valentine even though she got him one cos he forgot and didn't have money.
A month ago, her boyfriend moved to a new apartment. She feels he should be settled first before she reminds him about the phone.

Yesterday, she called me and told me that the persistent toaster just got her a phone. She doesn't know what type but he said he noticed she didnt have a phone and she wasnt on whatsapp. He said it was a gift for her with no strings attached.
Our question is this, should she collect the phone, even though she doesnt really like the guy? If she does and her boyfriend sees it should she say she got it from another guy? Wont it lead to issues in their relationship?
Would really appreciate your wise and helpful comments? No insults please?
don't accept the gift. it clearly has strings attached

Romance / Re: This Togolese 'sugar Baby' Gets £2.5k Monthly To Keep 60-yr-old Doctor Company by Lules(f): 8:13pm On May 10, 2017
Liar liar pants on fire
AdoraAmadi:
It has been gathered that a successful doctor in his 60s, pays a 'sugar baby' student £2,500 a month to keep him company, and he has even bought her an entire bar. Self-confessed "sugar baby", Ilham Chocolat, 25, is showered with gifts by her admirer and receives money in exchange for platonic dates.

Ilham is so successful she will now be giving advice on snaring sugar daddies at a special summit in London this month. Regarded as one of the best sugar babies in the business, Ilham, who lives in Bologna, Italy, met her ‘sugar daddy’ – a 60-year-old divorced doctor – when she was just 20.

DailyMail reports that Ilham, who is taking a degree in African studies at
university in Bologna, said that, after meeting him through a friend, it felt natural to keep seeing him – although their relationship has never been sexual.

Meanwhile, her 36-year-old boyfriend of eight months, who she does sleep with, is happy with her ‘job’ as a sugar baby. Although he does not pay to date her, he recently bought her a coveted Tiffany necklace for her 25th birthday.

“I’m not having sex with my sugar daddy,” she said. “He didn’t want anything physical from me. He gives me an allowance of £2,500 a month. He takes me shopping and anything I want he gets me. Whatever I want or need, I can have.

He’s bought me a diamond ring, clothes and taken me to fancy hotels.”

The doctor has also given Ilham a credit card, enabling her to spend whenever she wishes.

But his most extravagant gift, less than a year after meeting, was a bar, which he bought for her in northern Italy – allowing her to fulfil her childhood dream of being a landlady. .

“He enjoys his time with me. He said I made him feel like a small boy and full of energy," she explained. Based in Rome, she sees him bi-monthly and has even introduced him to her family – who approve of her relationship.

He has also helped her launch a charity endeavour, which involves providing washing machines to Africa.

praisekeyzz:
Hello NLs....

I've been so disturbed about the strangest thing ever happening to me for the past one month.

I met an elderly woman early April at my barber' shop where I do come to charge my phone at night whenever there is no power supply(same as the woman). I went the 2nd night, still met this same woman on the same mission at the shop. She noticed my hairstyle and asked me what style it is, I was like it was just a partial dreadlocks but I haven't locked it fully to make it firm. And she was like she likes it.

And she went on to ask my name and some details about myself which I did. And when I told her i'm an igbo guy she was soo happy and told me clearly that she likes me more.

I was already admiring her as a mother(meanwhile we already exchanged contact) not until she called me on the phone 3weeks after we met and asked me to come to her house. After entertaining me with dishes, she moved close to me and started showing me videos on her phone...while scrolling through the videos i saw lots of matured porn and I was so shocked. She asked me what was wrong? that I should relax. I told her this is not right! I told her she could be my mom. She was just like it doesn't matter.

The most shocking part of it is that this woman claims to be a prohetess and a minister. Even on her facebook timeline, she addressed herself as a prophetess. I could disclose her facebook account but something inside of me tells me it will be too cruel and unjust of me...please people all I need is advice I don't wanna fall into temptation. She lives on the same street with me. She's new there......Please I need advice!

Family / Re: It Is Not Your Responsibility To Take Care Of Your Parents -Bisi Alimi by Lules(f): 9:25pm On May 05, 2017
OfficialNNB:
Nigerian gay activist, Bisi Alimi, has written an epistle telling Nigerians that it is not their responsibility to take care of their parents, neither is it the right of their parents. According to him, a child owes his/her parent nothing, as he/she never begged them to have sex.

He went further to disclose that a child, is not an old age pension scheme. He went further to tell Nigerians not to succumb to emotional blackmail from their parents, or they will milk them dry.

Here's what he wrote;

"Nigerians, doomed financial vicious circle is when your parents brought you up so you can be their cow to milk, while you look forward to doing same to your children.
I understand that the system is bleeped, pension money is being embezzled by stupid greedy politicians, the same ones you worship and bow to, and there is no guarantee for old age, but Bleep, the system won't fix itself. If you don't resist, you will be consumed.

The idea that it is the responsibility of the struggling young to take care of the struggling old is a myth sold to you by the corrupt politicians who have stolen the resources of your commonwealth.

Remember, one rich man among 100 poor men will eventually end up being poor.
You only have two commitments in life; yourself and your children and that's until they are old enough to be kicked out of the house.

You do not, I repeat, you do not owe your parents any pay back unless you are still living with them, which means get the Bleep out or start paying rent and bills.

Remember, you didn't beg them to have sex, they wanted to have children, it's their choice, you should not be their old age pension scheme.
Only do it if you can and have the resources to, but even with that, know the limit or they will emotionally blackmail you and milk you dry."

this guy is cray-cray.this is not for African/Nigerian parents
maybe the england or wherever he is, it is messing with his head.
or maybe the gay sh*t is Bleep*ing his head up. Just a thought

Researchz:
Tears as Photographer Who was Reportedly Tortured to Death by SARS Officials is Buried (Photo)

The photographer, Kola Aderogba who was allegedly tortured to death by men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad in Ibadan, Oyo state has been buried.

Photographer, Kola Aderogba has been buried amid tears after he was allegedly tortured to death

It was sadness, anger and mournful atmosphere in Ibadan as a photographer, Kola Aderogba was buried in Sango Cemetery, Ibadan, Oyo State, on Thursday.

Aderogba was allegedly tortured to death by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad. At the ceremony, family members and friends of the victim rained curses on the suspected killers as they called for justice, saying his death must not be in vain.

Punch reported that Aderogba was buried in a wooden coffin around 2pm. His younger sister, Seyi, who spoke with PUNCH Metro amidst tears, said the 55-year-old was never married due to disappointments he had from women.

She said, “We want God to hasten judgement on the killers of my brother. If the judge of the world is slack and unjust, God does not use pen and paper and does not wear robes. He looks at people’s works and I want God to examine the works of these men. From this moment, I don’t want them to have rest. Although he was 55, he was never married due to disappointments he got from women. Our parents are late. He was the eldest of three children. My brother did not smoke hemp or cigarette. He was a quiet man.”

PUNCH Metro had reported that Kola was taking a concoction of herbs at a joint in the Challenge area, Ibadan, around 8.30pm on April 21, when a team of policemen raided the spot.

He was alleged to have been arrested together with four others. The men were taken to the SARS office at Dugbe, where they were allegedly tortured. They were said to have been interviewed by a senior officer, who reportedly cleared them of wrongdoing and asked that they be released after paying for bail.

It was learnt that the suspects paid between N25,000 and N40,000 before they were released. The victim, who, however, could not raise any money and had no one to come for him, was detained for seven days. On the seventh day, a member of his church negotiated who N5,000, paid N3,500. He later went to look for the balance of N1,500.

While the church member was away, the policemen were said to have ordered a motorcycle rider to take him home. He was reported to have slumped and died on the motorcycle.

A family member, Olaolu Adeyeye, told PUNCH Metro on Thursday that after Kola’s death, he reported the case to the police at the Orita division, adding that the policemen did not give him attention.

He said another family member contacted the police spokesperson in the state, who ordered the Orita division to issue the family a police report. He said, “When we returned to the station, the policemen gave us the report with which we deposited the corpse in a morgue.

“The next day, we returned to the station and they took our statements. They later transferred the case to the area command at Iyaganku. At the command, we were asked to make another statements after which we were asked to go and conduct an autopsy.

“We contacted the doctors at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, and we were asked to pay for the autopsy. When we called a few days later, we were told that the result was ready. They, however, refused to issue us a copy, saying they had sent it to the police.”

Adeyeye said he confirmed from the police that the report was indeed ready, adding that the command asked him to make a formal request for a copy from the hospital.

According to Punch, a mild drama ensued at the command when some suspects, who were purportedly in the same cell with the deceased, were brought out to deny the report that he was tortured.

The suspects reportedly stated that Kola injured himself in the cell by putting his legs in a shackle. A cousin of the victim, who did not want to be identified due to the presence of some cops at the scene of the burial, called for justice.

She said, “No man can escape death and that is the reason we should all fear God. We may have buried him now, but I know God does not sleep. He will give the right judgment.”

INDESTRUCTABLEX:
Hello pro builders in the house. I will be starting my building project soon and I have been thinking about roof designs. Personally, I like the feel of flat roofs. But I had lived in a house that leaked heavily (just decking, no roofs). And this has given me reason to rethink.

The typical roof designs in Nigeria are pitched. Is this because of our weather? Is it more expensive or cheaper in the long run?

The idea for a flat roof is because I intend having a vegetable garden on the roof and of course DIY solar assemblies. Will this decision cost me more in the long run? And yes, I have limited funds grin grin
in Nigeria roofs with high pitch are encouraged due to our climatic system but terms of aesthetics flat roof looks better.
how would you water your roof garden and control the drainage from runoff water
