Confession

I’ve embraced the righteousness which is by faith, through which I’ve been justified from all things by which I couldn’t be justified by the Law of Moses. I reign and rule in life today as a king, because of the gift of righteousness which the Lord has lavishly bestowed upon me. Amen.

Be Joyful At All Times – Tuesday October 4, 2011 – Pastor Chris

Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation (Isaiah 12:3).

Joy is an emotion evoked by satisfaction, appreciation and pleasure. God was joyful when He created the earth; He appreciated what He made, and took pleasure in it: “And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day” (Genesis 1:31).

The joy you have is not of this world, but of God, therefore it’s independent and non-reliant on external circumstances. 1 Peter 1:8 describes it as “…joy unspeakable and full of glory.” Everywhere Jesus went, during His earthly walk, He brought joy to people; and He still does today. Having been born again, we’ve been brought into the life of unending joy. The Bible says in Romans 14:17, “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.”

The joy that comes from the inner man transcends physical circumstances; it’s permanent and will keep you strong and alive. The Bible says “A merry heart doeth good like medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones” (Proverbs 17:22). Learn to be joyful and maintain a happy spirit always. Joy is a feature of the recreated human spirit (Galatians 5:22), and it’s the nature of the recreated human spirit to be joyful at all times.

You can generate spiritual joy from your spirit by making melodies and singing new songs of joy from your spirit unto the Lord. The Lord delights to hear your joyful praise. Nehemiah 8:10 says “…for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” God needs you to be joyful so you can transfer that same joy to your environment. You cannot make others joyful, unless you’re joyful yourself.

Maintain a joyful attitude today and always, as your joyful and happy spirit dictates everything about your life: “Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation” (Isaiah 12:3); how instructive! It means you have to be joyful to experience the benefits of your salvation; you unwrap all the great and glorious blessings embedded in the salvation package through joy.

Prayer
Dear Father, I thank you for filling my heart with joy unspeakable, and full of glory. I live joyfully today, knowing that you’re my God, and you delight in me, rejoicing over me daily with singing. Your joy in my spirit is my strength! Thus, I live victoriously every day as I continually maintain a joyful spirit, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

The Life Of A Giver – Thursday September 29, 2011 – Pastor Chris

By Diane Maartens · Last edited 8 hours ago · Edit Doc.Let each one [give] as he has made up his mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion. For God loves (He takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, “prompt to do it’) giver [whose heart is in his giving] (2 Corinthians 9:7 AMP).

A giver is not someone who gave, but one who has made giving his lifestyle; someone who gives liberally, regardless of what he has. A giver never has to be convinced to give because it’s his nature to do so. Ecclesiastes 11:6 says “In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good.” This scripture is a revelation by which the giver lives. He never appears in God’s house empty-handed; he is prompt to give and always seeks to out-give his past.

This lifestyle of giving is what we’ve been called to as Christians. You should always be excited and quick to respond whenever there’s an opportunity for you to give. In 2 Corinthians 9:6, we’re admonished to give much when it comes to giving to the Lord: “But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.” Now, notice this scripture didn’t say “Those who earn more should sow more while those who earn little should sow little.”

You must understand that your giving is determined by your revelation of God’s Word and not on the amount of money you receive. The Bible says where the Spirit of the Lord is, there’s liberty (2 Corinthians 3:17). That means you’re at liberty to give joyfully and as bountifully as you choose. If Jesus could sit at the temple to observe how and what people gave as offerings (Mark 12:41-44), it lets you know how important giving is to God. He’s still observing and blessing us today for the way and manner we give to Him.

Take up the lifestyle of a giver. Don’t give sparingly, but lavishly and extravagantly to God, knowing that you can never out-give Him. He “…is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always {and} under all circumstances {and} whatever the need be self-sufficient {possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation}” (2 Corinthians 9:8 AMP).

Prayer

Blessed Father, thank you for blessing me with all material wealth, such that I’m self-sufficient, possessing enough to help and support others and most of all, furnished in abundance for the furtherance of the Gospel. I refuse to let opportunities to give pass me by, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

The Gospel Is Worth Your Commitment! – Monday September 26, 2011 – Pastor Chris

By Diane Maartens · Last edited 3 hours ago · Edit Doc.According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust. And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; (1 Timothy 1:11-12).

Many Christians have been persecuted for the sake of the Gospel. The persecution for some, was so severe that they died in the process. Many more are still being persecuted today on account of the Gospel. But we must realize what whatever persecution we endure for the Gospel is absolutely worth it. The Gospel is worth all our commitment.

The Bible says in 2 Timothy 3:12, “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” This lets us know that we’re to remain undaunted irrespective of the persecutions that may come our way, as we propagate the Gospel of our Lord Jesus. You have to realize that it cost so much, including the lives of many to get the Gospel to your country or region and then ultimately to you. The passion and commitment of early Christian martyrs who gave their lives so the Gospel could spread to the ends of the earth should motivate you to putting your all into the preaching of the Gospel.

Jeremiah said, “Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay (Jeremiah 20:9). Jeremiah was persecuted and imprisoned for preaching the Gospel. Yet he said ‘I couldn’t hold back; I had to preach; because the Gospel was like fire, shut up in my bones.’ His heart burned with zeal to preach the Gospel.

Remember, this same Gospel is what brought you salvation, gave you the Holy Ghost, and imparted faith to your spirit, and now you’re a member of God’s family and citizen of heaven. Therefore, regardless of the hardships or pain you might experience in preaching the Gospel, don’t quit; preach it with gladness. Let your commitment to the gospel stem from the inspiring and passionate words of the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 9:16: “…for necessity is laid upon me; woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!”

Prayer

Dear Father, thank you for this rare privilege of being a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As I declare your Lordship over my life, I influence my world with the truth of this Gospel, causing your light to shine in the hearts of men, thus making disciples of many, in Jesus Name. Amen.

See The Right Picture – Saturday September 24, 2011 – Pastor Anita

While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal (2 Corinthians 4:18).

As a Christian, you have the ability to see the unseen, and declare the end of any matter from the beginning, just like your Heavenly Father. The Bible says God quickens the dead, and calls things that be not as though they were (Romans 4:17). He framed the worlds by His Word so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear (Hebrews 11:3).

You’ve been called to live the faith-life; the Bible says, “For we walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7). Now, faith means you see the end result of an issue from where you are, and then you speak it into existence. In other words, you picture the future according to the Word of God, proclaim it into being through your spirit. Refuse to acknowledge the negative picture the devil may present to you; focus on what God says about you in His Word and picture yourself that way.

If for example you’ve been suffering with an ailment, don’t look at the symptoms; contemplate your healing; see yourself healed. If you were weak in any area of your life, don’t keep thinking and talking weakness or limitations; see and declare your strength! Affirm that nothing shall be impossible unto you, for that’s the truth revealed in God’s Word about you.

Satan may sometimes show up and attempt to question your faith, asking, “Hey, are you sure those words you heard were real?” Refuse to be moved, for he’s a liar and the father of lies. He knows God’s Word about you is true otherwise he wouldn’t question it. Never find yourself struggling with your faith and doubting if what God says about you is true. God is not a man that He should lie (Numbers 23:19). His Word is absolute reality; therefore hold on to that picture of you that you see in His Word.

so what is wrong with the above?

Meditation Transforms Your Life – Friday September 23, 2011 – Pastor Chris

By Diane Maartens · Last edited 3 hours ago · Edit Doc.This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success (Joshua 1:cool.

Meditation in the scripture above isn’t referring to the common mental exercise people observe where they muse unguardedly on nothing in particular. Rather, it’s a deliberate spiritual activity where you consciously set your mind on the Word of God. Observe the communication in our opening scripture: “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night…” Meditation therefore shouldn’t be on just any subject, but on the Word.

Meditating on the Word of God is what transforms your life; it changes you. That’s because the Word has a ministry in your life. Your promotion, success, health, increase and greatness are all in the Word. That’s why Paul, writing to Timothy in 1 Timothy 4:15 admonished him to give himself wholly – completely – to the ministry of the Word: “Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.” You ought to do the same. Yield to the Word. Let it have power in your life.

Imagine two intelligent people, adroit in the use of their minds. Two of them are tested at the same time; the first one to read all the books in the world and have all the best teachers educate him. And then the other one to read as little material as possible, but to meditate on the Word! In 20 years, I guarantee you that the one who kept meditating on the Word will be far more successful in life than the other one. You might wonder how come I’m so sure about this, but it’s a proven fact. Meditating on the Word of God does something to your spirit.

A smart guy in the things of the world can read anything and have an intelligent interpretation to it, but someone whose mind has been touched by the anointing of God has God’s interpretation to the same thing. Irrespective of your field of endeavour; whether you’re a medical doctor, a lawyer, a politician, or even an athlete, if you’ll set your gaze on the Word of God in meditation, you’ll become more excellent at what you do.

Prayer

Dear Father, your Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path, to guide me in the way that I should go. As I meditate on your Word, I’m metamorphosed into the glory that I behold therein, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Jesus Is Our Rest – Thursday September 22, 2011 – Pastor Chris

By Diane Maartens · Last edited 5 hours ago · Edit Doc.For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his (Hebrews 4:10).

In the book of Genesis, we understand that God worked for six days and rested on the seventh day. The seventh day was the Sabbath day; the Bible says He blessed and sanctified the seventh day because in it He rested from all His work (Genesis 2:2). He later instructed the children of Israel through the laws He gave them to also work for six days and rest on the seventh day, being the Sabbath day (Exodus 20:9-11).

However, the Lord Jesus Christ came as Lord of the Sabbath: “For the Son of man is Lord even of the Sabbath day” (Matthew 12:cool. He is therefore our rest; and having been born again, you’re now in Him and have therefore entered His rest. “Rest” here isn’t referring to mere relaxation or taking time off work. It refers to your rest in God; it’s our place in God, where you no longer toil, struggle and sweat for anything in life; you cease from all struggles.

This is the life of rest Jesus has brought you into. Remember, He came and paid the price for your sins. He died, was buried and then raised back to life for your justification. Everything about your salvation was consummated in Him, who is today seated at the right hand of the Majesty on high. But thanks be unto God, you’re seated together with Him in that place of power, authority and rest: “And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly place in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:6).

Jesus is not doing any work today in heaven; He’s seated and resting. And since you’re seated with Him, it means no more struggling for you. You’ve been ushered into a life of rest; it’s a position of grace. In Christ Jesus, all your problems have been solved; therefore look to Him, for He’s the solution and all that you could ever need.

Prayer

Dear Father, I thank you for the blessing of your Word and the enlightenment it has given me today. Thank you for bringing me into a place of glorious rest in Christ Jesus, where I don’t struggle but enjoy a blissful life of success and victory, in Jesus Name. Amen.

The Victory Attitude – Wednesday September 21, 2011 – Pastor Anita

By Diane Maartens · Last edited 3 hours ago · Edit Doc.And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight (Numbers 13:33).

At God’s instruction, Moses sent out twelve men to the land of Canaan, to spy out the land. God had told them the land was theirs (Numbers 13:2), but when the twelve spies returned, ten of them interpreted the situation from the natural; according to what they saw (Numbers 13:33). They reported that there were giants in the land, and therefore could not take it.

However, Caleb and Joshua interpreted the situation from a faith-perspective. Yes, they also saw the giants in the land, but it made no difference. As far as they were concerned, God had said the land was theirs and that settled it; whether or not there were giants in it was immaterial. This is the faith-attitude. Whereas the other ten spies were sore afraid and lamented their inability to posses the land, Joshua and Caleb saw it as their opportunity for victory.

The attitude of the ten spies in contradistinction to that of Joshua and Caleb exemplifies two groups of individuals in the Church today. The ten spies portray those in the Christ who are still ruled and governed by what their natural senses perceive. These are the ones easily overtaken by fear and who cower in the days of adversity. But Joshua and Caleb represent the faith-generation; those who think and talk the Word.

Let’s read Joshua and Caleb’s inspiring faith-response to the negative report presented to the children of Israel by the other ten spies: “Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not” (Numbers 14:9). What a proclamation of faith! This is the victory attitude we should have as Christians, particularly in trying times.

Realize that you’re more than a conqueror, and greater is He that’s in you, that he that’s in the world. All the forces of heaven and power of divinity are working on your behalf; therefore refuse to buckle or give in to any adversity, for you’re a victor in Christ Jesus.

Prayer

Dear Father, I see all trials and challenges that come my way as bread. No force has the ability to defeat me or throw me off balance because greater is He that lives in me than he that’s in the world. I’m more than a conqueror, and I live with confidence, knowing that all of heaven and power of divinity are working for me, for my good, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

My pastor, never had his own house until early last year. He was a tenant paying rent. My pastor is not poor but stinkily rich.
Why didn't he buy a house then, even at that, he had over 8people staying with him and you know that if people stay with you, you are obligated to feed them, clothe them and educate them(which he was doing)

Now he has moved into a bigger apartment and he still moved with these same persons and added some other orphans, staff members, workers e.t.c
So you see houses don't mean anything to us, rather it's the people that fill the houses that matter

You really need to get a life grandpa(Kunle oshobi)

MyJoe:

All the above may be true. And all we see here is a house with trucks so people should not speak in absolutes in passing judgement on subject.  Having said that, I don't agree with those going on and on about people minding their own business. Christians, and the society at large, ought to be worried about things like this. If it is true Mr Oyakhilome owns, keeps and uses 30 jeeps, please convey my sympathies to him, as all I could feel for him is pity.

And, ma'am, there's something seriously wrong with a system that creates a man who "receives cars almost everyday" in any society, but especially one where 70% are poor.
The percentage of the poor is reducing by the day
Why and how you may ask. It's because when a man becomes born again and walks in the true revelation of God's word, he walks in his inheritance in Christ and refuses to recognise the world's system.

Finally, the system did not create him, he is creating a system

Blessed Father, what joy floods my soul to know that I’m the offspring of your righteousness! What delight to know that I am as righteous as Jesus is righteous because the righteousness I have is your very righteousness. I yield to your wisdom and righteousness today, knowing that I’ve been sanctified, spirit, soul and body, to worship you and bring glory to your Name. Amen.

Speak In Tongues ANYTIME – Saturday September 17, 2011 – Pastor Chris

By Diane Maartens · Last edited 6 hours ago · Edit Doc.I thank you my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all (1 Corinthians 14:18).

There’re those who believe you can only speak in tongues when you’ve attained a certain “spiritual high” or ecstasy. They believe if you pray for a long time in your known dialect – in your understanding – you’d eventually get to that spiritual moment of ecstasy, where the Holy Spirit makes you lose your mind and then you start speaking in tongues. But that’s not the way it works.

The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 14:14-15: “For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.”

Observe the Apostle Paul’s words; he said, “For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful…” In other words, I don’t understand what I’m saying because the words aren’t coming from my mind, but directly form my spirit. So what do I do? “…I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.”

Paul is telling us here that we can decide to pray either with our spirits or with our understanding. Thus, we don’t have to wait for any “spiritual high” or for the Spirit to take over our lips before we start praying in the spirit. The Spirit’s part is to give us utterance or the ability to speak in other tongues (Acts 2:4), which He has already done. Without that ability, we would be trying to form and force those words out of our mouths, which will fail.

The Bible says in Acts 2:4 that the Apostles were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. They didn’t create words; they spoke as the Holy Ghost gave them utterance. All they needed to do was open their mouths and speak. So you can speak in tongues anytime; even now! You don’t have to try and force the utterance. The Holy Spirit is you inspires those heavenly words in your spirit, which you’re to speak forth in other tongues. So it’s up to you to open your mouth in faith and speak in tongues whenever you choose!

Prayer

Dear Father, thank you for the indwelling presence of your Spirit in my life. He’s the one who gives me the ability to speak in tongues: that heavenly language given to us to commune directly with you. I take advantage of this unique ability today and always, in Jesus’ Name Amen.

The Word Liberates You – Friday September 16, 2011 – Pastor Chris

By Diane Maartens and Brandy Arombo · Last edited 7 hours ago · Edit Doc.For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another (Galatians 5:13).

I am often excited about the power and efficacy of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ; how it liberates men from bondage into the glorious liberty of the sons of God. Anyone who embraces the Gospel is brought into a life of absolute liberty – a life of the miraculous – far removed from religion. Hence as a Christian, you must watch out and refuse to be ensnared by those who being in bondage already, try to put others who are at liberty into bondage.

People with this type of attitude were there in Paul’s day and are still around today. Their aim is to put others in the same bondage they are in. The Apostle Paul, referring to them in Galatians 2:4 said: “And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage.” It’s not surprising that they would try to do this. A man who isn’t free won’t see any reason for another person’s liberty. At every opportunity, he’ll try to rob others of their liberty. Even when they preach Christ, they do it in a way that condemns, subdues and brings their hearers into bondage.

Galatians 5:1 lets us know that Christ has made us free to live the glorious and exciting life of the Spirit; therefore refuse to be hampered with any yoke of slavery. John 8:32 says “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” The truth is the Word of God; your knowledge of the Word will keep you in perpetual victory, cleanse your heart and purge your conscience to serve God. It will foil every strategy of the enemy to put you in bondage, and build you up till you become a stalwart in the faith: “That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive” (Ephesians 4:14).

Confession

I rejoice O Lord because I’m at liberty to serve you and glorify you with my life! With my whole heart I do only those things which are pleasing in your sight, for my life is for your glory and sacred use! Thank you for bringing me into the glorious liberty of the sons of God; now I’m free to sing, shout and dance unto you in praise! Hallelujah!
