I think everyone has said something reasonable here, the point i hold against Java is this, we talk about creating all sort of applications, game, network, mobile, database and the rest. The issue here is all of these application have a market base in this region Nigeria, though is is a nice idea to think globally sometime it is wise enough to do certain things locally.

If you ask me, i have hardly seen any hotel management system or health management system that is written in Java language. All business application that see are all window based written in Microsoft languages even the old one Visual Basic 6.0

Well nice to see .NET guys here. But i have something that i will like u guys to let me know. Most time when u visit institution to start a programming course, they will usually blow the trumpet for java more than .NET language telling you that Java runs on all platform which is right anyway.

but i am reluctant in learning the Java thing but choose to do the .NET. Ok i have seen a lot of desktop application write with .NET even VB6 used by big firms in Nigeria, but i hardly see any one written in Java language

Scripting Language: JavaScript/Jquery Techniques. Dynamic development techniques such as PHP MYSQL

One more thing learn CSS to be able to enhance your web design. Layout design from scratch either using table or borderless using CSS is a must for you to learn.

This guys are advicing u from the angle of web development and programming and that may confuse u and slow down ur learning process.

Forget PHP for the now and focus on mastering page layout using HTML, CSS and authoring tools such as Microsoft frontpage or Dreamweaver.

Those PHP stuffs are for application development not web site design. The stage u are now from look of things is for you to master web design, graphics and layout design and then move to PHP development.


My advice

Since u have created an index page that carries the kind of layout u want, why don resave the index page to let say about.html and edit the elements in it to suit an about page.

You may want to do so for other pages.
