Yes I heard on channels Tv yesterday that those small parties indirectly cost Nigeria about 40 billion naira
They increase the cost of contractors
They increase the cost of papers
They increase the cost of transportation and several others
It’s pure nonsense we don’t need more than 5-6 parties

I have said it before, any Political party that does not have at least a Local govt area it is governing in any state shouldn't be allowed to contest for governorship elections; any political party that does not have a single sitting governor should not be allowed to contest for presidential elections. Elections starts from the grassroots so let nobody come and be wasting our time and resources.

Politics / Re: Akpabio Lost His Senatorial Seat? by MaziOmenuko: 12:46pm On Feb 24, 2019
Dude commited a political suicide by joining the APC. I wonder what he was thinking. If it was the fear of EFCC, his compatriots such as Fayose, Saraki, FFK etc all went thru it and still survived. Maybe he was truly eyeing the senate presidency seat; but that would have been political naive of him to think the APC would have handed it to him even if he won his senatorial seat.
Politics / Re: Just In ! Kalu, buhari Win Abia North’s 5 Lgas As PDP Unleashes Terror by MaziOmenuko: 7:10am On Feb 24, 2019
Declared winner by who? Pockets of results are still coming in, abi na igberetv declare am winner?

It's certain that PDP ain't getting good votes in Abia north and central. Peeps are tired of working for 12 months without getting paid. Bad governance is opening people's eyes, poverty is a common denominator.

Results from Imo and Abia are favouring APC. Would have thought APC would not get 20%, but the failure of PDP in Abia is so resounding that the people are test-running the PDP defeat at the guber pools with this presidential election.

This election has shown that Buhari has been rejected by Nigerians unlike in 2015 when people voted him in wholeheartedly. All the cabal did today was try to force him on Nigerians and that's why the election was so violent. Also, illiteracy and hunger in Northern Nigeria is a big problem to the country.

The biggest challenge up north and that is what these lousy politicians bank on all the time. You can be assured that the votes of these elites down south will be nuetralized by the hordes of amajiri votes up north. This is a big inequality in our electoral system.

life2017:

The Defense Chief is in charge of budgetary allocation to the Chief of Army, Air, Naval.

No military formation from any Service deploys without first briefing and getting approval from Defense Chief.

Service Chiefs own operations and missions but Defense Chief is accountable, wheter good or bad.

Defense Chief is sitting at the top of the heirarchy and all military infrastructures and assets of a country are under his management.

Defense Chief work on political, diplomatic, legal, cultural, mercantile and military interests and his office is supported by staffs specialized to give advisory in these fields of international engagement.

The Chief of Defence Staff control the 3 members of the armed forces which are the Army,Navy & Air force because their heads report to him & it is his constitutional duty to oversee all of them & give direction where necessary but the Chief of Army Staff only control the Army.

The fact that the President can chose to give order and get report directly frombservice chiefs without passing through the chief of defence staff doesn't remove the fact that under normal circumstances they report to him. The president is the commander in Chief. He is the direct boss of chief of defence staff.

We currently have a CDS who doesn't like too much media attention. because of that, people like u have ignorantly interpreted as him being irrelevant.

General Sani Abacha was chief of defence staff to IBB and the took over from IBB. He held that boost from 10 January 1990 17 November 1993

General Abdulsalami Abubakar was chief of defence staff to Abacha and he took over from Abacha.

Please don't confuse the personality of the current CDS for power of CDS

Please, for the umpteenth time, the service chiefs report directly to the president and not to any CDS! Only the president can appoint or sack a service chief.

You are mistaken the Chief of Defense Staff under military regime and that under civilian rule. The CDS in military rule is like a chief of staff now; so they naturally are closer to the presidency and have more administrative powers.

Once again, the chief of defense staff is a ceremonial position with no single battalion under its command.

He will not resign. Pdp sponsoring fake news. What i dnt understand is that even the press was allowed to capture the meeting. It wasnt a closed door meeting so i dnt understand what the fuss is about.

Just for your info, the press are only allowed during the preliminary stage of the meeting. Once the national anthem is sang and the president sits, the press are asked to excuse themselves.

Else you would have seen the agenda of the meeting on frotpages.

The chief of defense staff General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin who is the head of the military is a christian from south west, Ekiti state . He was present at the meeting.

Chief of Army staff, Chief of Naval staff and Airforce chief report to him. He is the most senior military personnel in Nigeria and he holds the highest office and rank currently in the military. He gives directives to chief of Army staff, air force chief and chief of naval staff

Let us pretend that it's ignorance that made you make such a blatant claim in bold above. Plz don't make such errounous comments on public fora as some people may actually think it's real.

Just in case you don't know, chief of defense staff is more like a ceremonial position. None of the chief of staffs report to him.

What happens to all those that travelled to vote? The international observers that are already on ground? The businessess that closed down for 2 days just so they can accommodate the election?
